Without skirting around the first chapter opens with the heroine waking up after being drugged and abused at a keg party. And even though there's no description of the abuse on the page, it is tense enough to read about it. And it's a very complicated place for a book to start. Then we cut to 9 months later, due to many circumstances Ava is going back to the same school where the possible abuser is from. He was never caught, and a lot of victim-blaming happened. But Ava has always had a tough life, and she wants to 1. show that they can't break her and 2. find out who the guy was and get some revenge. In the midst of this very serious plot, she finds a letter in her locker from a secret admirer. Enter Knox, a brooding quarterback with a huge scar on his face, that despite his scary looks has a tormented but sweet heart. This book kind of gave me 13 reasons why vibes, in the sense of going under the layers of what can happen in the worst scenarios of high school, and the dangers of parents and teachers turning a blind eye. But, it was very carefully written and ended up being a story of how two broken people can help each other. Knox was the perfect hero, he was kind and respectful and slowly he could let Ava trust another person.I think it's so hard to have such a serious plot and weave a romance into it but Ilsa Madden-Mills pulled it off, an the overall result was great and the ending made perfect sense. Ava was such a strong heroine, and while I hurt so much for her I was so proud of her bravery.Beware of trigger warnings if this is a difficult subject for you. Thank you Social Butterfly PR and Ilsa Madden-Mills for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

She'll be living be her own rules now, and Ava 2.0 is fierce. She wants to be independent, get into the college of her dreams, and have the future she deserves. She just has to survive her last year of high school around all the kids who try to intimidate her with their dismissive, superior attitudes. Between her ex who broke her heart, the guy who is out to get her, and the one who writes her anonymous love letters, it's hard to pretend they don't exist with constant reminders everywhere she turns. It's a deep, intriguing, fantastic book that deals with some serious subject matter. It's a dark high school love story full of hot football players, a delicious set of twins, mystery, suspense, angst, humor, and all the feels. I adored this book, and was completely captivated throughout! This story was unlike anything I've read by this author. I am a huge fan of Ilsa's writing and devour anything by her. This story just had a more intense vibe, and really takes you on the heroine's journey. I loved how strong Ava is. She never gives up, and is a fighter. Then there's the guy she chooses to give her heart to. Swoon, swoon, and swoon some more. Om, my heart! He was just everything!!! ***NOW AVAILABLE***https://amzn.to/2GQvvbL

"No matter the road you take, it doesn’t matter if it’s beautiful or ugly, hard or smooth, paved or pitted with ruts—it’s your road to take. What matters is how it ends." well this surprised the shit outta me.there were so many emotions i felt while reading this book and honestly, the last time i ever felt this way was when i read Landon & Shay: Part One and First and Forever (Heartache Duet #2).Ava Harris (h) was (TW) drugged and sexually assaulted by one of the jocks from her school in "No matter the road you take, it doesn’t matter if it’s beautiful or ugly, hard or smooth, paved or pitted with ruts—it’s your road to take. What matters is how it ends." well this surprised the shit outta me.there were so many emotions i felt while reading this book and honestly, the last time i ever felt this way was when i read Landon & Shay: Part One and First and Forever (Heartache Duet #2).Ava Harris (h) was (TW) drugged and sexually assaulted by one of the jocks from her school in junior year and comes back in senior year to show everyone who didn't believe her and bullied her that she was strong and unbreakable. Knox Grayson (H) was the school's QB1 and the most popular person in school, who coincidentally is the "leader" of the group of popular kids called the "Sharks" where one of them was the one who sexually assaulted Ava. although this book had heavy subject matters, this was still so sweet and exceptionally romantic. Ava and Knox's story focuses on second chances, redemption, resilience, and growth. their love for one another was so next level compared to the other books i've read by this author that i was even more suprised by how good this was. characters :— Ava (h): she loves star wars, secretly nerdy, one of the most selfless h's i've ever read, is the guardian of her six-year-old brother, and just overall STRONG. i love this girl. although she went through something horrific, her perseverance was so heartwarming to read that i just in awe of her.— Knox (H): THIS DUDE. i love him. i just- i love him. why? because his words made me swooon . imma give y'all an example: "I want to know everything about you. What you eat, except for tomatoes. God I hate those, what you dream about, what songs you listen to, what makes you laugh, what makes you happy, how you feel when I fuck you. I want you breathing for me. I want you begging me for more of this. I want you kissing me, just me. I want you, Tulip, you, you, you, you..." ...BRUH.and another one: "You can't go because I won't get over you. I won't ever find someone like you. I won't ever kiss a girl like you. I love you..." again...BRUH.ps. I was crying like a baby during this scene.honestly, reading Knox's character just made me depressed just because guys like him are super-duper rare in real life and i've said this before and i'll say it again: there's plenty of fish in the sea but there's also more trash sooo... bullying and slut-shaming :i got so heated when people did not support, did not believe Ava's rape and basically bullied her and calling her hurtful names. reading about Ava's inner monologue when people called her a "slut" when she's a victim of rape really made me feel all the feels, mainly because even though this is fiction, this still happens in real life and it's equally maddening and disheartening. but when this happens, Ava's perseverance and resilience truly is admirable to me. this type of strong heroines are the ones i absolutely love. what i disliked (SPOILER) :this is pretty minor but i just really didn't like the separation and the rushed ending of when they reunited almost 2 freaking years later. im kinda spoiled with these kinds of scenes and i always want more. but yeah, they separated at the end because as Gabriella said in High School Musical:but to be fair, their reunion was still very sweet and filled with passion. like, i can actually feel their longing for one another in an intense way.and another thing, what happened to Chance (h's ex who was an asshole but had a redemption arc)? will he get his own book with Camilla (h's dorm neighbor who was also sexually assaulted by the same rapist)? because that would be *chef's kiss*._________________________________again, i cried A LOT here. this book was emotional and really makes you feel EVERYTHING. one thing i look for in any romance novel is the passion and overwhelming emotions of love between the h & H and these were definitely present here. also, H was the first one who fell for her and pined for her for years. that's definitely plus. though, he did still sleep with OW and the h even caught him three times in the past. i didn't mind this as much because the h didn't feel hurt and she actually made fun of him when she told him. both were also celibate after the assault and after the separation.even though some might be hesitant to read this since it is based in a high school setting, i still recommend this 100% because it was honestly just so surprisingly good and this is definitely one of my favorites this year. 5 stars

I usually dont like many books and end up hating it after 60% and when I started reading this I thought I ll hate it too but NOOOOO! HOLY SHIT! I dont have words, I was not ready for Knox. And Ava is the real definition of strong heroine. She doesnt take any bullshit, she is fiesty and knows how to take a stand for herself. I loved her so much, and Lets not start talking about knox. He knows how to write poems, play piano, LOVES AVA, a football player....ugh he is perfect. more importantly, his words are very profound, i felt it in my soul. His love for ava is so intense, i cant. knox is so cute and charming. This story is about a girl names Ava who one day found herself on the woods, she thinks she has been raped but no one believes her, including her ex boyfriend Chance who is a Shark. The Sharks are rich boys who rules their school and Knox is one of them but he always had feelings for Ava even though when she was dating his best friend. No one believed her what she said but Knox was determined to ruin the person who hurt his girl. I loved all the characters from this book, it was just wow though Ava annoyed me a little but she is damn strong. It was written gracefully and showed how two broken people heal each other, knox was a perfect hero. He was kind, and respectful towards Ava and let her trust him. This book had such a serious plot, suspense and romance included . llsa took this book to the next level, I mean THE NEXT LEVEL. The beginning was perfect, the ending was perfect, the romance, the attraction, the suspense, the chemistry EVERYTHING WAS WOW. I need a knox in my life, I seriously never read a book where a highschool rich asshole is respectful towards the heroine. And the fact that they dont jump into sex and then fall in love makes ME LOVE the book more because now a days books are all about sex. there are no emotions, connection, feelings or anything but this book had it all. Knox loves his brother so much, my heart hurt for them. Their relationship is so pure......let me go and cry. There are so many things I want to say about this book but also dont want to spoil it. This book should be devoured, and I mean it. .....

NOW LIVE!Amazon US * Amazon UKDear Ava honestly surprised me with how intense it was. After reading the blurb I was excited to get a bully romance with a secret admirer and was so ready for all that angst. The story was so much more than that though, and it still delivered the angst but also a lot of emotions. Ava was once the scholarship kid trying to fit in with the rich kids at her school. But that all changed when her desire to be one of them left her drugged and raped and feeling destroyed. NOW LIVE!Amazon US * Amazon UKDear Ava honestly surprised me with how intense it was. She's got her game face on and she's determined to walk the halls and stare everyone of them down. And this time she also has someone at her back looking out for her, she just doesn't know who. Ava had all my admiration with this book and I loved that I got to see how strong she was. She had her reasons for going back to the school even when it seemed like a crazy idea, and I really admired her for it. Knox was the more mysterious character but I loved getting to dig into him and his past and learn all about it. It made the story even more intriguing and added more of a suspenseful feeling to it along with everything else going on that had me captivated. Overall, this is a great story and I think it will definitely capture the attention of anyone that picks it up. It's not the usual high school bully type of book, the characters were mature, and it read more adult than anything else which I really liked and it made everything feel very realistic.ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

Dear Ava is such a beautiful story about pain, healing, and the power and perseverance of love. It’s heartbreakingly emotional, but also uplifting, romantic, and truly inspiring. It is so much more than an enemies-to-lovers or secret admirer plot. Dear Ava is a 6 Star read for me, and Knox and Ava are officially on my “favorite couples of all time” list. I loved this book with my whole heart. Dear Ava is a 6 Star read for me, and Knox and Ava are officially on my “favorite couples of all time” list. I loved this book with my whole heart. CW: sexual assault, addiction, suicide, abuseAva Harrison is back at Camden Prep after 10 months away, and she’s back with a purpose. Ava has goals to achieve, someone who is counting on her, and a future to work towards. In spite of the tragedy that caused her to leave Camden 10 months ago, Ava won’t let anyone stop her from succeeding now. Especially not the Sharks. But when Ava is paired up with Knox Grayson on her first day back, her plans are jostled, and she’s forced to rethink what she thought she knew. Sweet, strong, sassy Ava. This girl is so fierce. I can’t tell you how many times I was in awe of her strength in this book. The things she’s experienced and the pain she’s endured would be enough to make anyone give up and cower, but Ava doesn’t break. She doesn’t give up. She comes back stronger, somehow with more grace, and she perseveres. Ava Harrison is such an inspiring heroine, and I love everything about her. I even loved her moments of weakness and vulnerability, because it made her that much more real. Her character arc is glorious, and I would gladly read 10 more books about her if I could. Knox Grayson is such an enigmatic, intriguing, and heartfelt hero. On the surface he seems gruff and hardened, but he is so much more than he appears. I’m a total fool for Knox Grayson. The depth of his character had my heart aching with every layer that was revealed, and I fell so hard for his sexy, broody, complex self.Despite their different circles, Knox and Ava have quite a bit more in common than they realize. They’ve both known extreme pain, they’ve both experienced loss, they’ve both had to take on immense responsibility at a young age, and they both play their cards close to the chest. They’re so unbelievably GOOD for one another. Their chemistry, the tension, the LOVE. I was so deeply moved by their story. The things they have to go through and overcome to get to one another. The things they do for one another. Dear Ava is a romance of epic proportions, and Ilsa Madden Mills did a brilliant job with it. She made me feel EVERYTHING, and she did it beautifully. I loved loved loved this story so much. I loved everything about it. 5 StarsI’m completely smitten. What a fabulous first-time experience with new-to-me author, Ilsa Madden-Mills. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. Not only is this YA/NA in theme, but the story also opens with a possibly triggering and uncomfortable prologue, depicting seventeen-year-old heroine Ava, as she wakes up alone in the woods after attending a school kegger, scared, confused, and clearly having been sexually assaulted by an unknown classmate. Although her assault was never shown on page, the theme of rape hangs heavy over this story and potential readers should be warned. When the story kicks off, it’s a year later and wrong-side-of-the-tracks Ava is finally returning to Camden Prep, an elite private school where she holds a scholarship but was so cruelly ostracised from after she spoke up about her assault, with many of her peers (still) calling her a lying bitch and a snitch.Ava is nothing if not independent, strong-willed and highly resilient, choosing to return to a place where the people have unfairly cast her aside as trashy, deceitful and unworthy of their time. Despite the harsh return welcome, Ava is determined to show these southern elitist assholes that they have not and cannot break her spirit — and hopefully, well she’s at it, she can also break loose some of her more elusive memories of that fateful night, in order to work out exactly which football player from the kegger was her assailant.Ava refuses to let any of them get to her, but when a love letter is left in her locker on her first day back, she begins to question the motives and attitudes of the people around her, and slowly but surely, she begins to lose her heart to the one boy she thought was the biggest enemy of them all, but whom she misjudged so very greatly.Honestly, that’s all that can be said without ruining the story and the epically beautiful romance that unfolds within. There were a lot of moving parts to this story, many of which were emotionally exhausting, but I was just so caught up in the wonderful writing and by the engaging plot, that I couldn’t help but fall hard and fast for Ava and her very, very dreamy hero. I loved every moment of reading Dear Ava and I’m now positively bursting at the seams to read more from this author. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED <3

4.5 Tulip Stars “Dear Ava,” is a novella within the “Team Player 2: A Sport Anthology.” However, this story will be added to, and will be re-published as a full length standalone novel, in early 2020! Isla Madden Mills, does NA/YA, sports romance like few do for me—she rocks it! I loved seeing Ava, become empowered and comforted in the knowledge that someone has been looking out for her all along. Her love for her little brother, especially given their circumstances and up bringing...heart warming! I can’t wait to read more of this story!

Ava is a strong girl who has been through so much throughout her life and is now ready to face her fears and do anything for her future and her little brother's. And Knox is a football player that surprised us all... he has a depth that I wanted to know more about and once I did I fell more and more in love with him. He himself has been through a lot and those events shaped him into who he is today and it's also those events that connect him and Ava althemore. I loved how he always believed in her, defended her and then made it his mission to find out the truth. When it comes to the team when I read the novella I was not a fan of anyone besides Knox, not even his brother. He had secrets and I was kind of scared of what he has been hiding but this book made me see things in another light. Knox's brother had no clue what had happened because he himself had been plagued with his own nightmares and couldn't remember that night either. Ilsa made me feel so much for Dane, he was going through so much and my heart really hurt for him and Knox because he went through everything with him.Dear Ava is very innocent when it comes to the development of the main character's relationship but not when it comes to the whole issue of the story. It deals with rape so be careful if it might be a trigger for you. Knox and Ava are pretty special and I loved watching them slowly get to know each other and trust one another. I love how their relationship grew little by little and became such a strong love. When the truth came to light it messed things up but Ava was finally able to breathe and move on with her life and I loved watching her be able to let things go and grab her future by the balls even if it meant she had to let some important things go. When I first started reading the last few chapters my heart was in my throat, I was scared but boy that ending could not have been more perfect. That saying - If you love something let it go, and if it's meant to be, it'll be - or something along those lines, it really hit deep with these two and gosh were they meant to be. Their ending made my heart happy.➳ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review.➳ Follow me on: Blog ⁕ Instagram ⁕ Facebook ⁕ Twitter

All the stars in the world for this story. I think this one has jumped into my top spot from Ilsa. A big claim because she’s one of my unicorn authors, but this story, well it’s kind of special. I adored these characters. Absolutely adored them. I laughed, I cried, I felt my heart break. This story touches on very real subject matter. It’s not a breezy read but that’s why I loved it. I loved how Ava was portrayed as a warrior, not a victim. And Knox is just EVERYTHING a Book Boyfriend should be. Happiest of sighs from this reader. This is the kind of book I know I will read again and again. Onto my Forever Favourites Shelf. Definitely recommend. I received an arc of this book.

5+ 'Tulip's Secret Admirer' Stars!ARC provided via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.Let me start this by congratulating the amazing Ilsa Madden-Mills for writing such an outstanding love story. It takes a whole lot now for me to rate a book with my special 5+ stars rating but Dear Ava deserves it 100%. I’ve been impatiently waiting for this story ever since reading a sneak peek of it in the Team Player 2 anthology and the wait has been so worth it. Ava and Knox’s story is an 5+ 'Tulip's Secret Admirer' Stars!ARC provided via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.Let me start this by congratulating the amazing Ilsa Madden-Mills for writing such an outstanding love story. I’ve been impatiently waiting for this story ever since reading a sneak peek of it in the Team Player 2 anthology and the wait has been so worth it. Ava and Knox’s story is an emotional roller coaster you don’t want to miss. So, Dear Ava is a standalone contemporary romance and it tells the story of Ava Tulip Harris, a student who goes through a heartbreaking experience no woman should ever suffer. Ava has changed but the Sharks at Camden Prep have not. They are vicious and do not care about what happened, they don’t believe her. But Ava has a secret admirer, a Shark who says in his love letters that wants to love and protect her. Enter Knox Grayson. He is the lead of the Sharks but he also is Ava’s secret admirer. He is not what everyone thinks of him and he will do anything for Ava. Does this not sound as EPIC love story to you? P.S. I’m a Shark, but I’d never hurt you.P.P.S. I’ve tried to fight it with everything I have, but I want you. Still. WOW, guys. I am overwhelmed by feelings. ALL THE FEELINGS. Such a beautiful love story! An intense, heartbreaking, angsty but also sweet, romantic and sexy enemies to lovers romance. Ilsa has written a unique love story and everything was on point. It’s surely not an easy one to read, it deals with themes such as sexual assault, addiction and even suicide, but it’s so worth it. Ava and Knox (and the people around them), you just have to meet them because they will steal your heart. “No one wanted them to be together. None of the gods approved. Who’d love the king of the underworld?”“The right person.” And of course, what is the best thing about Dear Ava is Ava herself and her SA, Knox. Ava is kick ass heroine, fighting to live again after what happens to her, fighting for her brother Tyler and fighting to trust again when she starts falling for “the enemy”. Knox, obviously, is not the enemy. He is such a swoony hero: protective, romantic and definitely sexy. Even though the main focus is Ava, still the love story was beautiful and the chemistry was explosive. With that, drama, suspense and a beautiful ending, that is what made me devour this book in just a few hours. I literally could not stop reading! “Dear Ava, today is the beginning of anything you want,” he says in my ear.I clutch his shoulders. “You. Always you.” Therefore, my rating for Dear Ava is my special 5+ STARS because it was the perfect romance read for me. It had everything I enjoy experiencing while reading a good romance novel and so much more. Of course, it has some triggering themes as I said earlier but the love story and these characters are so worth it. Ava and Knox are perfect for each other and their HEA was just epic. A love story that makes you think, believe and swoon. Highly recommend!CHECK OUT MY BLOG HERE:

Having read, and loved, Dear Ava as a novella in the Team Player 2 anthology, I was anxious and eager for 2020 to arrive so that we could get the rest of Ava’s story. I so wanted Ava to be happy and to get the answer she so desperately needed. I had so many questions and I wasn’t sure if I should let down my guard - was it safe to be happy with who SA turned out to be?!? (YES!) Was he really all that he seemed?!? (YES, all that and more!) IMM had me questioning everything and I couldn’t wait for what was to come.I thought I was prepared for where things were going, considering I had read the novella, but I was nowhere near ready...not by a long shot. Dear Ava was such an emotional read, more so than any previous books I’ve read from IMM. There was so much depth to this story, so many layers to be peeled back and discovered. My heart hurt for Ava, for Knox, for Dane. Ava has been dealt more crap hands in her 17 years than many people have to deal with in a lifetime. She’s been down, but never count this girl out, ever. I was amazed at her strength, even if at times she had to fake it. Knox is everything a girl could want in a boyfriend. Fiercely protective, loyal, dedicated. But lord, did he carry a heavy weight on his shoulders! Wanting to be a man, wanting to take care of everyone around him, but at 17 realizing it was too much to handle on his own. I love this book. I love Ava and Knox, Tyler and Dane. I always say I'm not a fan of angst, but inevitably the angsty reads are some of my favorites, Dear Ava is proof of that- my new favorite by Ms. Madden-Mills. This story is full of so much heartache, but it's hopeful, and the ending is probably one of my favorite endings to a book, ever. I have an arc I need to start, but the book hangover is real y'all and I just don't want to move on yet.

„It takes a phoenix to rise from the ashes. I guess he thinks you are one.” I am completely stunned and delighted. Dear Ava is absolutely the best story from Ilsa Madden-Mills and that means a lot, because I love all of her novels. I was completely consumed and forgot how to adult until I was finished!I adore Ava. She’s a real fighter and her character is very empowering. Even though something terrible happened to her, she keeps her chin high and she doesn’t let it take over her life. She’s brave and fierce and despite all the bad things she experienced she’s still kindhearted. She’ll do anything for her loved ones.Knox was such an enigma from the beginning. He’s the popular quarterback, filthy rich and worshipped by the peers, but you could sense the mysterious vibe coming off of him. He appears as this cold, callous guy, but as soon as his walls are down he’s the most loveable and vulnerable guy ever. I just loved him so much! He’s caring, thoughtful and protective and totally swoon-worthy!These two are complete opposites on the surface, but time shows that they have a lot in common. Their chemistry is off the charts and when they opened up to each other I was at the verge of tears. I wanted to put them both in the bubble-wrap and hold them close to my heart. Even the physical aspect of their relationship, although very sensual, was overloaded with raw emotions.Dear Ava filled my heart with all the feels. I was completely enchanted with the storyline and with complicated but wonderful characters. This novel is raw, real and deeply emotional. The mystery kept me in suspense throughout the whole story and I couldn’t wait to get answers right with the heroine. And the romance… oh, the romance filled my stomach with butterflies. It was the most heartwarming love story I’ve read in a long time. Ilsa definitely knows how to pull her reader’s heartstrings! PS.I really hope that Ilsa will write Dane's book. Knox's brother experienced his own share of bad things and I'd love to read about him finding his own HEA.*ARC received in exchange for an honest review.***Get your copy of Dear Ava:Amazon: https://amzn.to/37T4EYlAmazon Worldwide: http://mybook.to/DearAvaAdd DEAR AVA to Goodreads: http://bit.ly/2Z2jwQx

I LOVED it! Ilsa Madden-Mills never fails to write stories with characters that you just can't get enough of. I was completely taken with Ava and Knox. I laughed, I growled, I got all kinds of swoony and twitterpatted and everything in between and I wasn’t a happy camper when there were no more words to read.I ADORED Ava. This girl went through something horrific and yet came out swinging. Seeing her put on her shitkickers and take hold of her future, knowing how hard it would end up being emotionally and mentally, was all kinds of awesome. I loved her snark, how she held her own against all odds and her heart is truly golden. And Knox...this guy, I adored him. Talk about complex. He is so much more than he appears to be and getting to peel back the layers and seeing just how genuine, though bruised, his soul truly was all kinds of wonderful. This was a great read, definitely one of my top reads by the author. From handling what happened to Ava with a gentle, yet realist touch, and figuring out who raped her, to watching as all the characters in the story evolved in one way or another ~ I think she did an amazing job with it all. As for the supporting cast of characters. I ADORED Wyatt, Piper and Tyler. These three were so well written and really brought out the spark in Ava. And as for the Sharks? Well, this is definitely a mixed bag, and since I don’t want to give anything away, I will say that there were a couple I wouldn’t mind seeing more of in the future.~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

That one night changed her life like a snap of a finger.I read Dear Ava that was part of an Anthology and I wanted more from the story and M.Mills delivered throughout this book. I loved seeing the character development of each character. Knox, Ava, Chance, Wyatt, Piper, Dane and Mr. Vance Grayson. I couldn't put this book down, I hope you take my word this is wonderfully written. The characters are strong and loyal and give sass when needed. I swoon for Ava and Knoxx and I'm so so happy to have this in my collection.

Dear Ava was a novella in the anthology ‘Team Player 2’. I adored that novella. I was so happy when I found out that there would be more Ava and Knox, because I felt like their story wasn’t over. I couldn’t wait to start this novel. I loved Dear Ava! It is packed with emotions, love and a little mystery. The mystery is dark and it’s not about an easy subject.Ava is strong, feisty, smart and loving. Something terrible happened to her, but she’s a fighter. She may be struggling on the inside Dear Ava was a novella in the anthology ‘Team Player 2’. I adored that novella. It is packed with emotions, love and a little mystery. The mystery is dark and it’s not about an easy subject.Ava is strong, feisty, smart and loving. Something terrible happened to her, but she’s a fighter. She may be struggling on the inside sometimes, but she wouldn’t let it show. Ava has goals and there is nothing that can keep her for achieving them. Such a strong woman. Ava never expected that someone like Knox would ever like her and she doesn’t like what he is, but she loves what she’s learning about him.Knox is sporty, talented, determined, caring and gentle. He’s the popular jock at high school that every girl wants. I had many questions about who Knox really is and I loved finding out everything about him. He’s much more than I thought. Knox doesn’t know a lot about love and relationships, but he knows from the start that Ava is someone special. Ava and Knox are amazing characters! I love them together. But Knox could be hot and cold, and a Shark wasn’t part of Ava’s goals. So it took a while before they were really together, but it was worth the wait. They would have always ended up together. The last few chapters broke my heart, mended my heart and made me swoon so hard! Dear Ava ended beautifully and perfectly.I have to mention the secondary characters. Ava and Knox have some awesome friends and family, and I was glad Knox and Ava had those people. They are not all perfect, but neither are Knox and Ava. There are definitely some characters I hope will get their own book one day.-- My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book. --
