Damon Prescott is part of such a big family, I don’t even know how they know who is who 😊 Damon is a star pro quarterback and after he gets a terrible concussion during one of his games, a random team drug test shows a positive result and now not just does he have a concussion but his been suspended for from playing football plus people think he takes drugs. He knows he doesn’t take drugs but how can he prove it when the evidence is there for all to see. And why would someone set him up like thi Damon Prescott is part of such a big family, I don’t even know how they know who is who 😊 Damon is a star pro quarterback and after he gets a terrible concussion during one of his games, a random team drug test shows a positive result and now not just does he have a concussion but his been suspended for from playing football plus people think he takes drugs. He knows he doesn’t take drugs but how can he prove it when the evidence is there for all to see. And why would someone set him up like this??Evie Wolfe is a private investigator, with 4 brothers. When her best friend Quinn asks her to help her soon to be brother in law prove that someone set him up, the only solution is to pose as Damon’s girlfriend to get closer to the people in his life. Let’s just hope she remembers its just pretend. Adding into all this chaos her ex shows up and things seem to be getting a bit out of control. Adding in that she might be attracted to Damon more than she wants to be. But how can she trust another man after what her ex did to her, and especially a playboy quarterback.I loved the chemistry between Damon and Evie and their back and forth banter and the flirting was just too good. I loved that even though it was a ‘pretend’ relationship, Damon was all in right from the get go. Both characters had their own difficulties, but I liked that even though it was pretend they were stronger and better together and Evie definitely changed the playboy’s ways ❤ 😊Reviewed on behalf ofFay's Corner

I loved the suspenseful aspect to this story, it kept me guessing and waiting for what would happen next.Dare to Tempt is book 2 in this series of standalone novels. It is told in Dual POV from the third person. I believe this series can be read in any order. Carly makes sure not to spoil any previous books in the series, but also makes sure the reader is lost while reading the new story. You will see interconnected characters in this series, since it based around the Prescott Siblings. I thought the flow and pace of this story was great. If you are a fan of the “fake” relationship story, then this is one you should give a try. I loved that we get a HOT Hero and a heroine who knows how to give as good as she gets. Evie was a great heroine. She is determined, independent and full of sass, but she is also kind hearted and has a vulnerable side. She had a hard time trusting because of a past relationship that went way wrong. Damon was your typical Arrogant, Cocky, Jock who was a player and didn’t want to settle down but I couldn’t help falling for him. I loved his hidden softer side.I loved seeing the other Prescott siblings in this story and it was great catching up with Quinn and Austin (Couple from book 1) I look forward to reading Jaxon’s story next. I also hope we get to know Braden better as the books release. If you are a fan of the Dare family series and/or Carly Phillips, you want to read this book. It was a book filled with love, laughter and suspense. Just perfect for an afternoon escape.Follow Us at :: Facebook

Damon may be all about the one and done and not wanting to be in a committed relationship, but his dedication to his career and his loyalty to his family and friends shows just how big his heart is. Evie is a tough cookie, she’s had to be considering the family she grew up in, but she also has a quick wit and is much more observant than most realize. The journey to their HEA was an enjoyable one as they both were thrown together and had no choice but to get to know each other and realize that neither was who they expected them to be. The bantering was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was hot. I really liked that the angst between them was on the low end of the spectrum, especially with all that they were dealing with, but they did have a few bumps in their road and I loved how everything worked out for them. This was another great addition to the Dare World, which is quite vast. There are a couple topics that may make readers uncomfortable, but it was all handled very well. I loved catching up with Austin and Quinn and meeting/catching up with a hand full of the Dare clan, and I really enjoyed getting to know the Prescott family a little better. I don’t have an ultimate fav of the bunch, but I’m definitely looking forward to watching as Jaxon is brought to his knees!~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

To further her investigation and to escape from her very dangerous and crazed ex, Evie and Damon begin a fake relationship. Evie has had her heart broken and her trust betrayed by her previous partner, leaving her with doubts about her judgement and very wary of beginning a new relationship. Despite her insecurities, she remains the badass private investigator she was before. She was strong willed, fiercely independent and sassy. Damon has always been known as a player. Never known to be in a relationship or tying himself to one woman but that quickly changes when surprising and unexpected emotions for Evie consume him. Looking past his player status, Damon definitely had some redeeming qualities. He is protective, loyal, patient and I loved how he supported Evie’s decisions and need to be independent. It was great to catch up with Austin, Quinn and the rest of the Prescott/Dare family and I am super excited for the release of the next instalment in the series and to read Jaxon and Macy’s story next. There's something about a Dare that goes straight to the heart. Yummy heroes, fierce heroines and intriguing scenarios prove to be a heady experience. No author can tempt, frustrate and still leave you wanting more. Damon and Evie are fiery proof of the addiction that is Carly Phillips. Right at the start emotions come out swinging. Scandal is the name of the game, but attraction scores a touchdown for this fiery duo. Who will be the winner in this battle of hearts? Why the reader of course.

Dare to Tempt is the second book in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips. Drama, suspense, off-the-charts chemistry, mystery, witty banter, plenty of heat and a great storyline that you can't wait to see where the story takes you. I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

I enjoyed this romance. Evie and Damon had good chemistry, shared clever banter and I really liked the sparks they generated. The storyline was fun and offered up a entertaining blend of drama, heat, emotion, suspense, mystery and heart. There is an interesting and highly appealing cast of characters that provides endless possibilities for even more books. This is my candid, elective review.

The Dares just keep growing and growing and I’m okay with that. Each new book is just as fun and steamy as the last. This was a quick read that had a slow burn with some mystery and suspense. It was intriguing and romantic and I loved every minute of it. Carly Phillips is a go to author and never lets me down with a great story to keep me entertained from beginning to end.

Overall Grade: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2I had mentioned in my review for Dare to Resist that I had missed out on Carly Phillips’s previous Dare stories. Even after reading Dare to Resist, the first book of her newest series, Dare Nation, I didn’t feel as though I needed to read the other books for context as Phillips does such a fantastic job of connecting you to the characters from those books. I also mentioned in that review that Dare to Resist felt busy, and I struggled to like Austin Prescott for most of the story. Trust me, I love an alpha-hole, but he read as vain and self-involved until Quinn humanizes him (thank you, Lord). At the end of Dare to Resist, it was clear that Austin’s brother, Damon, finds himself in a predicament: he is accused of using PEDs to enhance his performance after coming off of a concussion. Thus, Dare to Tempt becomes a little bit romantic suspense and a little bunch of hate-to-love, a compelling combination of romantic tropes. In comparing the two books, Dare to Tempt won my heart. For one, it didn’t have the busyness of storylines as Dare to Resist did. Phillips clearly wrote individual struggles for both Austin and Quinn in that book plus adding in a secret baby, and you found your head spinning. In Dare to Tempt, Carly Phillips flexes her romance muscle by coupling two characters, Damon and Evie, and keeping their story focused. At first glance, these two seem like oil and vinegar, and Phillips sets up the tension of the story right away when Damon passes judgment on Evie based on her appearance. Right at the beginning, Phillips hits us with the idea that we ought not to “judge a book by its cover” as Evie quickly schools Damon. At that moment, Phillips began to win me over. Next, Phillips crafts my favorite type of heroic archetype: the alpha-male hero with a soft heart. While Damon makes a quick judgment about Evie, after she proves him wrong, quite quickly Phillips has Damon devolve into a compassionate protector. There is no lingering with Damon in his disbelief over Evie. He recognizes her worth and ability quickly. The second aspect of the story that I appreciated from Phillips is the crafting of Damon’s thinking. It is easy for alpha heroes to reduce their heroines. They hide it behind their protective and “loving” nature. Damon appears to follow this suit, but Phillips writes this well in that he rationalizes his thoughts about Evie and his want to protect her that she creates a feminist in Damon. This doesn’t undermine his alpha tendencies; instead, it illustrates productive ways of crafting heroes in today’s society. Damon goes from 0 to 5 stars through Phillips’s careful depiction of him. Thirdly, Evie is the type of heroine who challenges typical heroine archetypes. She’s strong, dogged in her pursuit of Damon’s truth. Like strong women, however, she struggles with vulnerability, and this becomes a third message of Phillip’s Dare to Tempt. She illustrates the challenges for women who are intelligent and strong to allow themselves to be vulnerable as it looks like weakness. This becomes Evie’s struggle through the book, but Damon’s ability to allow her the space to reconcile it is my third favorite part of this book. Lastly, I loved the romantic suspense of this story. Carly Phillips carefully intertwines that part of the story with Damon and Evie’s journey. There are a few times when it seemed as though Evie forgets her investigative work, but Phillips reintroduces it into the story, revealing the resolution at just the right time. If you are new to Carly Phillips, and you don’t know where to start, you could absolutely go back to the beginning and read the extended Dare universe. However, if you want to jump in feet first, Dare to Resist and Dare to Tempt, the newest book of the Dare Nation series, are a great place to begin. Phillips’s romances involve fiery chemistry, insightful storytelling, and a complex family that has a character for anyone. For me, thus far, Dare to Tempt is my favorite of the Dare Nation books. Yet, I can’t wait for Jaxon’s story because marriage of convenience plus playboy baseball player feels like a winner.

Until she shows up looking like his dream come true in heels and a slinky dress. Boy did he have her pegged wrong. Now he just has to keep his hands to himself and remain professional... How could Damon have thought she wasn't his type, wouldn't fit into his world?! Damon too is not the thickheaded jock she had thought. He is fiercely protective and loving, and takes his sport and his teammates seriously, definitely not the dumb jock she had assumed. Will their newfound views of each other combined with their attraction make a fake relationship into a real one? This is a sizzling installment in the already awesome Dare world. Dare to Tempt is the second book and focusing on the smooth-talking quarterback, Damon Prescott. The third book drops in October 2020 and focuses on the bad boy of baseball, Jaxon Prescott. You will have to wait until a while for the final installment, Dare to Stay, when the savior, doctor Braden Prescott finally comes home. It is going to be a hot one today, in more ways than one, so grab your sweet tea and let’s chat about Dare to Tempt by Carly Phillips.Damon Prescott’s life had just gone from golden to shit in an instant. Not only had one violent football play gone wrong, but he had also tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in a “random” test and had been immediately suspended from playing. With his head still pounding as a result of the concussion, Damon has to figure out how he has tested positive on the random test as well as the follow-up when no unknown supplements went into his body. His only ray of hope is to prove himself innocent with the help of his biggest nightmare, his sister’s best friend - Evie Wolfe, a licensed Private Investigator. Evie is not Damon’s usual type but he cannot get her out of his mind. Evie Wolfe comes from a family with a long history of public service. With a father and four brothers in public service, it was a no brainer that Evie would follow in their footsteps. But a relationship gone bad left Evie questioning her abilities and six months ago she left her job as an investigator for the Miami District Attorney’s office and opened her own Private Investigator’s business. Evie is great at her job but needs a high-profile case to get her new career jump-started which is why her best friend, Bri Prescott, called for her to work on her brother’s case. In order to get into places that a regular PI can’t go, Evie needs to pretend to be Damon’s girlfriend but convincing the high-profile jock who has a reputation for sleeping with women and sending them away might be easier said than done. She might have to drop the jeans, leather jacket, and scuffed books in order to prove that she can look like one of his typical women. What Evie doesn’t know is that her ripped jeans and leather jacket have already caught the attention of Damon.Carly Phillips is known for “alphalicious” heroes and romance to “set your heart on fire” and Dare to Tempt does not disappoint. All it takes for Damon to turn from a hot jock to an alphalicious hero is for Evie’s ex-stalker to show up again. Evie might be a tough PI but there is something about her that makes Damon want to leave behind his playboy ways and take care of her but he has to convince Evie that his feelings are real and he’s not just playing a part for the investigation. When a Prescott man falls in love, he falls hard and fast. I really enjoyed this book even though it ventured a little toward instalove. You know that I love books about people in public service and am very critical about how they are written. There were a few scenes involving Evie’s stalker that I felt could have been handled differently. Despite that, I really enjoyed the characters and all of their different personalities and look forward to reading others in the series. My rating for Dare to Tempt by Carly Phillips….4 out of 5 propellers!

He knows he didn't take anything, and someone is setting him up, but who, and why?? And how can he find out those answers?Evie Wolfe is a private investigator who is part of a big family of her own. She has 4 brothers, all blue collar, public servant types, and her parents are still married. When her best friend Quinn (the heroine from book #1) calls to ask for her help with Quinn's soon to be brother-in-law's predicament, she agrees to take the job. Posing as Damon's girlfriend to get closer to the people in his life won't be a hardship, as long as she doesn't forget it's all pretend. But, when her lying, vengeful ex shows back up in her life to threaten her, she's got her own issues added to the mix. She'll never trust a man again after what her ex did. She can't. But Damon sure is making it hard to remember that. Damon and Evie had excellent chemistry, and I loved their snarky banter and flirting. I liked how comfortable they got with each other in a short time, and how that helped them to truly get to know one another, even while they were pretending for the world. I loved how Damon was all in early on, and only kept up the faking ruse with Evie to ease her into the idea of being with him for real. It was sweet how he did whatever he needed to do to make her feel comfortable and safe in regards to her crazy ex, while still shoring up her confidence by letting her know that he trusted her to be safe and do her job. I really liked the way they were together. The side characters here were great, as always. I love this whole massive extended crew, and there were even more cousins from New York that I don't remember reading about before, but who seemed awesome too. Give me all the stories!! I just love how much love and comfort is found in their giant blended family. Evie's brothers were awesome too, and I adore the idea of some blue collar hero stories coming soon, after hanging out with the uber-wealthy Dares for so long. Damon and Evie had a wonderful connection, and I loved how strong Evie was on her own, but how she allowed Damon, and her brothers, to back her up when needed. Evie was a great heroine and I loved getting to know her. Damon knew she was it for him, and he wouldn't let her go. Overall I really enjoyed this story! Up next, book 3 is about Damon's brother Jax the baseball player, and I DO mean PLAYER. It is a fake relationship story, but it is also so much more than that. With a hotter than hot hero and a sassy heroine who certainly knows how to stand up for herself, It kept me turning the pages without any other thought.Damon Prescott is a star NFL quarterback recovering from a serious head injury. He's also just tested positive for illicit performance enhancing drugs, sidelining him for four weeks. He vehemently denies taking the drugs so, along with his agent brother and PR sister, he sets out to prove his innocence. Damon is cocky, grumpy, sexy, a player who is averse to any type of relationship or commitment. Or is he?Evie Wolfe is a feisty little thing. Independent, sassy, kindhearted and vulnerable, Evie is a breath of fresh air. She also has difficulty in trusting men, thanks to a previous relationship that went horribly wrong. Evie's determination to prove Damon's innocence and the issues she is having with a stalker draws her closer to Damon. Can she learn to trust him?I loved the bond that formed between Damon and Evie, even though they both had reservations because of their past experiences. Their banter, flirting and chemistry all helped in making their connection stronger. I also loved how they both could rely on their families for love and support, even when they didn't want it. Damon was swoonworthy and Evie was a no nonsense woman, together they were perfect. I think my favourite moment was when Damon realised that Evie was the woman for him, he no longer wanted to continue his womanising ways. Now all he had to do was convince Evie that he was serious about them staying together.Another wonderful read from Carly Phillips. Next up is Jaxon Prescott, the baseball player who has found himself in a compromising situation, in Dare To Play.DARE TO TEMPT is a MUST READ.Read and Reviewed for Reading iS Our Satisfaction✨✨✨✨✨ FIVE TEMPTING STARS ✨✨✨✨✨

One thing that I like the most is how she doesn’t create unnecessary drama with the main couple and I’m not saying that they don’t go through some bumps on the road, because they all do. And that’s why I found the relationships in her books so relatable. In this book, Damon goes through his biggest test in his football career. Someone set him up and his drugs tests comeback positive. Now he needs some help him to find out who is the culprit and who wants him gone. He knows his family has his back, but he never thought that Evie would be the one to change his whole world.Evie is best friend’s with Damon’s brother girlfriend, she is a PI, independent, beautiful and mostly important she is a bada$$! After some devastating break up with her ex, that left a lot of scars inside and out, she doesn’t want a relationship and just wants her business to grow. And finding a solution to Damon’s problem will put her on the map!Evie and Damon chemistry is off charts. Both of them start their fake relationship to help each other professionally, but with their first kiss, things change fast. Evie try to deny until the end, but with Damon showing his true colors helping her heal her emotional wounds and protecting her against her stalker ex, there is no way she can’t fall in love with him.And Damon? I swoon over him every single chapter... actually these Prescott’s brothers fight for the ladies they want with all their forces. And for Damon there would be no one else but Evie. Gah... I love him. The way he respected, love and care for Evie was beautiful. He even made a good impression with her family.Talking about family, I could get behind with a new series staring Evie’s brothers. It would be amazing and oh so hot! Please, Carly, think about that.I loved the ending so very much, Evie and Damon are so different but yet complement each other perfectly. All the praise for the epilogue! And the kick for Jaxon’s story was amazing, can’t wait for another Prescott brother!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...This book focuses on Damon, Austin's brother, and Evie, Quinn's bestie.I did enjoy this book, Damon did a major turnaround from buttmole to sweet and Evie was a strong brave woman who gave as good as she got. Damon has some issues with his career and Evie is hired to help him, but Damon isn't too happy about it at first. However, Evie was definitely up to the challenge and put Damon in his place and that boy was dumbstruck. Now I I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...This book focuses on Damon, Austin's brother, and Evie, Quinn's bestie.I did enjoy this book, Damon did a major turnaround from buttmole to sweet and Evie was a strong brave woman who gave as good as she got. Damon has some issues with his career and Evie is hired to help him, but Damon isn't too happy about it at first. However, Evie was definitely up to the challenge and put Damon in his place and that boy was dumbstruck. Now I have to say I believe this book involves some major "insta" moments, whether it was insta-lust or insta-love, I'm not 100% certain; but Damon went from thinking Evie was not good enough for him to wanting her to be his girlfriend pretty darn quickly. I loved how Evie handle her own dangerous issue, she knew she could handle the situation but was strong and brave enough to take help from her friends and family; I truly dislike it when woman put themselves in harm's way just to prove they can do it alone. I also loved that Evie didn't give into a true relationship with Damon right away because to be honest, I thought Damon was jerk in regards to his assessment of Evie at first.Since she didn't look like the typical women he went out with, he didn't seem to think she would fit in, in his world and be able to help him. Although Evie did try to fight Damon's long-term advances, I do feel that things were a bit too easy. Damon is a famous playboy football player who never dated a woman, only hooked up, and suddenly he wanted a full relationship Evie, a woman he had been attracted to for a while, but didn't fit his idea of the woman for him.I guess I wanted a grand gesture or something big to happen to show that Damon had changed his ways because to be honest if we didn't know what he was thinking, we wouldn't know what was going on with his feelings for Evie. All in all I did enjoy this book and I look forward to more books in this series especially Jaxon and Macy ;)

Damon Prescott's life was about as close to perfect as it could be, then one little mishap and suddenly everything was turned upside down... with the help of someone who wanted to see him fail of course. He doesn't know who has it out for him, or why they would do the things that they did, but he wants to get to the bottom of it. That's where sexy private investigator, Evie Wolfe comes in. His family promises she will be able to find the culprit and make everything in his life right again. But after spending a little time with her he starts to realize that her coming into his life was the best thing that could of happened, and he wants her stick around after the case is closed... but convincing her of that fact might be a little harder than he anticipated. Between the pages of Dare to Tempt readers will meet a couple that looks all wrong on paper, but they prove that opposites definitely do attract. Evie knows she doesn't necessarily fit into Damon's glitzy and glamorous world, and that she is a different type of woman than he usually dates, but none of that seems to bother him. After her last relationship she has trouble trusting anything a man tells her, so when he professes his love for her, and taking into account all their differences, she has a hard time believing he is being sincere. But he refuses to give up on her, so he goes to great lengths to prove to her that she was his perfect match. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two fall for one another, their relationship started off as something of a farce, but after a few innocent kisses it was evident that they had some serious sparks, and something worth holding onto. Dare to Tempt was a perfect afternoon escape, their was romance, drama, suspense, and loads of steam waiting for me on every page... it was hard to put down once my eyes found the words! Highly recommend!I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

His brother Austin, who is his agent and his sister Bri, who is in PR, are helping him to try to prove his innocence. In order to do so, Bri has a plan up her sleeve. Bri's best friend, Evie Wolfe, just happens to be a private investigator, so she brings her in to help. When Evie shows up at Damon's house, the group decides that the easiest way for Evie to get the information she needs is to pose as Damon's girlfriend. Now, he's not known for being a one woman man, but he definitely is attracted to the spitfire of a PI. As Evie dives into trying to prove Damon's innocence, their "relationship" hits the news, which brings an ex of hers back into the picture and he begins threatening her. In order to both keep her safe and to further the real relationship that is starting to grow, Damon insists she move in with him so he can keep an eye on her. Now that Damon has realized she's what he wants, will Evie drop her walls and allow it to happen?I truly enjoyed these two characters and what they brought out in one another. They are both strong people and have been through their share of difficulties in their pasts. It was so wonderful to see how well they fit together and into each other's families. I've always loved the Dare's and I'm so glad we're getting to know more of the extended family and I look forward to meeting others!**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

Sure, Damon Prescott is a quarterback whose life has been upended by charges of taking performance enhancing drugs. He knows the charges are false and the tests are wrong. He just has to prove it.In walks beautiful, badass P.I. Evie Wolfe, hired to investigate who would want Damon out of the game. The plan is to have Evie become his 'girlfriend' so that she can observe those closest to him on and off the field. The story that unfolds is both intriguing and full of page turning suspense because not only do we want to discover who set Damon up, but also who is after Evie. Carly Phillips throws an interception pass by introducing a subplot which has Evie looking over her shoulder as a nasty ex boyfriend re-enters her life in not-so-nice ways. Of course, this situation has Evie falling right into Damon's arms and into his bed where things are sizzling hot. Evie and Damon are great characters. He may be a big time jock, but with Evie, his softer side comes out. Evie is really strong, but has trust issues when it comes to men. Damon may be just the man to break down those barriers and show her that love is possible. The supporting characters are wonderful. I enjoyed all of the Dares and Prescotts, but Evie's brothers were great too.Even though, this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Highly recommend!!*I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A cracking 2nd book in the Dare Nation Series . I love a book where a sassy independent woman who doesn't care for high heels and flashy make-up can bring a cocky quarterback to his knees and Evie certainly does that to playboy Damon! Carly Phillips at her best 5 starsI always enjoy a Carly Phillips novel - you know you’re sure to get great characters, sexy situations and a sigh-worthy love story. I’ve not read that book yet, but the couple from that story have a cameo in this one. But fear not, this is a complete standalone and you will enjoy it whether this is your first Carly Phillips’ novel or your hundredth. As with all Carly Phillips’ novels I have read, this has a guaranteed (and delicious) HEA.This is the story of Damon, a star American football player who’s going through a spot of bother with a drugs ban hanging over his head - and Evie, the private investigator he hires to get to the bottom of his problems.Damon is a really swoon-worthy hero. He’s grumpy - my favourite - but he’s also a bit of a sweetheart. How could anyone resist a 6’4”, burly sportsman who’s grumpy, sweet and adorably clueless? Not me!Evie was the best kind of no nonsense heroine. She’s tough but not in a way that made me dislike her - and she was still vulnerable, being rightly scared by her stalker and her past experiences. As you would expect from Ms Phillips, the heat level is sizzling. There’s the heat - but there’s also the connection, and you can really feel the pair bonding and falling in love. Happy sighs as that’s the part that always gets me right in the feels. The writing is exemplary, as always. You’re interested and engaged in the characters while the stories of the doping and stalking help to keep the pages turning without overwhelming the reason we’re all here - the love story. You can’t go wrong with Carly Phillips and this is her at her best. It’s sexy, sweet, captivating and well-written. Just fantastic! Long live the Dares! 5 stars.

His family supports his hiring Evie Wolfe, a no-nonsense, tough private investigator. Evie agrees to pretend to be Damon’s girlfriend and although she knows she is often dismissed by men, she can dress herself up to look not only like Damon’s girlfriend, but play the part quite well; never expecting the sizzling, off the charts electricity and chemistry between them. The thing is she's most comfortable in jeans, boots and her leather jacket than in the attire attributed to most of the teams girlfriends. At least this is the excuse Damon gives for not believing she can pull off being his girlfriend. The real reason is Damon is worried, he's been attracted to Evie since he first met her. He can't seem to get her out of his head and that frightens him. He's not the settling down type, at least that's what he tells himself.Evie loves a challenge and meeting Austin, his girlfriend Quinn and Damon at Allstars for a drink will be interesting to say the least. We all met Evie in the last book because she is a Private Investigator and best friend to the female character. Her and Damon did not get off on the right foot in this book but that is quickly turned around when she starts her role as his girlfriend. There is also someone lurking in the background from Evie’s past that wants to cause her harm. It makes Damon want to protect her and with them living in proximity things can change. Evie wants to keep her heart closed to any feelings she just wants to have fun while working on the case. I love Damon because he played no games and he is not one to give up when he wants something. Evie is a woman that has been hurt but she hides behind the fact that she is independent. I must say though that I still love Cole’s story a lot better than Damon’s. Damon and Evie are great characters and their scenes together give you that lustful vibe. I love the Dare family and every time Carly does a different one, I wonder how many more Dare’s books she is going to come up with. This is family series is big and each one is different. You will not be disappointed when reading about this family because they will keep you intrigued.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
