Flames of Chaos (Legacy of the Nine Realms, #1)
From Amelia Hutchins, award-winning author of The Fae Chronicles, and author of the internationally bestselling series Playing with Monsters comes a new dark and sensual epic fantasy series set in a world of magic realms, mystical creatures, royal intrigue, and betrayal. Join Aria Primrose Hecate on a journey of self-discovery as she races to find her missing twin sister and save her family from a war that’s been brewing within the Nine Realms for over five hundred years.Aria and her sisters return to the Human Realm of Haven Falls to find one of their own that’s gone missing. They soon discover things have changed in the Human Realm and that nothing is what it seems, including Knox, the egotistical, self-centered, frustratingly gorgeous man who declared himself King during their absence.Sparks fly when the two enter a fiery battle of wills as Aria learns she is more than just a witch in the Hecate bloodline; she is much, much more. Will Aria embrace her savage side to find her sister and save her family, or will she burn to ashes from his heated kisses and burning hot embrace?Knox has ulterior motives for being in Haven Falls and never expected the little witch to show up and brazenly challenge his rule.It was supposed to be easy; get in and get out. Move pieces into place and set the stage for the war he’s been planning for over five hundred years. Aria is his sworn enemy but something within her calls to him and he hates himself for craving the fiery kisses that have reignited his cold, dead heart. One taste, and he thought he could get her out of his system. He was wrong. Will Knox let go of the memories of the past, driving his need for revenge that will destroy the pretty little witch he craves, or will he push the boundaries to fight for and claim what is his by right? Either way, war is inevitable. And nothing will stop him from reaching for what is his.

The Next Big Talked About SeriesKnox & Aria have been brewing since the release of Fighting Destiny. All the greatness we've seen throughout Fae Chronicles and spinoffs are ingredients too these two characters! Amelia hasn't outgrown Faery, but if Flames of Chaos is any indication of what we can expect from the 9 Realms series, well, I'm gonna say Faery might have found it's match! To be honest people, I'm not sure even Amelia can top Knox and Aria! Comedy!! Yes everyone, Amelia has become The Next Big Talked About SeriesKnox & Aria have been brewing since the release of Fighting Destiny. To be honest people, I'm not sure even Amelia can top Knox and Aria! Comedy!! Yes everyone, Amelia has become hilarious! I cracked up so many times I lost count! Seriously laughing out loud unable to read through the tears of laughter! Omg Amelia has lost her damn mind!!! It's so funny and her comedic delivery is perfect! The storyline🤔 that's tough to talk about without teasers! Knox and Aria play a cat-and-mouse game that has a surprise, untried by Amelia previously! The witches come home to search for their sister. Upon arrival Knox informs them the he is now King of their home. Aria and her sisters must now deal with a mysterious disappearance and Knox's interrogations and arrogance. The sparks that fly are metaphorical and physical regarding several situations!Overall you'll feel like you've just met this group but you're already old friends! The only discordant melody I heard in my head throughout the entire story is how fast it moves! I would have personally loved to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel more of everything. Luckily, there's plenty more books in the series to give us that!Amelia's best protagonist yet!

While trying to find her missing twin, Aria meets Knox, a mysterious and dangerous man who declares himself king. Knox calls to Aria on a bone-deep level, but she knows he has an agenda. Knox also feels the connection to Aria, but she doesn’t fit into his plans for revenge.Knox is a hero only Hutchins could write. Hutchins has a talent for writing men that make you walk the thin line between love and hate. Knox is an asshole, but we are given just enough glimpses into his mind to not only understand his reasons but to genuinely like him. He is clearly torn between wanting to hurt Aria and wanting to save and savor her. Knox’s actions walk right up to the line that would make him irredeemable, but then he doesn’t cross it. Sometimes he chooses not to, but there are other times that circumstances stop him and we are left wondering if he would have gone through with it. The chemistry between him and Aria is palpable but so is their pain. Aria is a badass bitch. She is an amazing heroine that gives us everything we could possibly want. She is powerful and kicks butt but is still coming into her own. She is snarky and funny. She is vulnerable but doesn’t let anyone walk all over her. I will be counting down the days until book 2 is released.

Wow! This book... I have soooo many words running through my head that I could use to describe it but I dont think they will do it justice. I remember seeing a review mentioning Aria throwing a dollar bill at Dimitri... I completely agree, if you read this. I especially loved and came completely undone about 3/4 of the way through the book. There is a particular dialogue that had me choking back my laughter, due to the fact I was in office, and it slayed me. Now I know your intrigued and probably wondering "what the hell am I talking about". Well... BUY the book! Happy reading!

1.5 this was a disturbing read stars. The author is talented but the same story could’ve been told within (300) 1/2 the pages. The relationship between Knox & Aria became monotonous in its abuse. I’m not a fan of Knox. I honestly despised him & there is no redemption no matter the sad life event that prompted the behavior or the length of the books. I did enjoy the world & overall story arc. I suspect the next book may rate higher if we can limit the interaction between the H & 1.5 this was a disturbing read stars. Aria has to return to one of the Nine Realms in order to save her sister, apparently disappeared, with her other sisters. She meets Knox, king of Haven Falls and all his friends and brothers. In this new series by the amazing Amelia Hutchins (you really need to read her other series), we are transported in a world where witches, vampires, werewolves and other creatures all live freely. The Hecate witches, Aria being one of them, are all born twins and all born females, making them the strongest Aria has to return to one of the Nine Realms in order to save her sister, apparently disappeared, with her other sisters. In this new series by the amazing Amelia Hutchins (you really need to read her other series), we are transported in a world where witches, vampires, werewolves and other creatures all live freely. The Hecate witches, Aria being one of them, are all born twins and all born females, making them the strongest witch family in the Nine Realms. This alone screamed girl power and did I not love it. Aria was fun, real and easy to get along with, while I hated Knox for the majority of the book just because he tried to cage Aria and make her his while hating her and arguing with her constantly. However, in the end, I managed to bear all the mystery around his figure, his power and his charismatic personality that could make him a spectacular character if only he was not nearly abusive. The world building is amazing and you can feel like you are there, traveling in the realms. The descriptions are perfect for this book and her style is easy to read, fast but not superficial. The end really took me by surprise and I just wish I could read the second book right away. If love isn’t brutal, then you’re doing it wrong. It is barebones banging together beneath the full moon, stronger and more forceful than any storm could ever hope to achieve. The sound of flesh hitting flesh, and the feeling it leaves when the body cools and the sweat dries but the soul continues to slowly burn, lit from the connection it shared with another. It is the brutality of ripping apart a soul, learning what is within it, and accepting it at face value without wanting to change a single thing. Love is a fucking battlefield, and you fight because you want it with every fiber of your being. It’s the exact same as war, which I assure you, Knox, you’ll learn to love war with me. On the other hand, you may decide you hate it, but either way, you will know the difference between the two. Motives why you should read this book: amazing world building, you wish you could just jump between the realms, magic and supernatural creatures all in a new way. Final vote: 3.5/5Ebook provided by the author in exchange of an honest review.

18+ I highly recommend that you read the warnings in the intro. There are strong triggering themes in this book.Have you ever had such a bad day/week that you just need to throw yourself into a good book and forget the 'real world' for a while? You'll have to read to find out more. Also, you'll need to read just to find out why I will never look at a pineapple the same again. Ever.⁣⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars, for world building, characters you will love to hate, hate to love and for making one of the hardest times in my life bearable.⁣I honestly can't recommend this book enough right now!⁣

Knox is the kind of character that will elicit strong feelings! You will feel them all for this character, which is a specialty of Amelia’s. Knox is on a mission of his own and Aria has just thrown a huge wrench in his plans. He thinks he has everything planned out, but he got something more than he bargained for when he met Aria Hecate. This is hands-down the best book of Amelia’s that I have read to date. Each book she writes is better than the one before it, so I can’t wait to read book two in this series. Warning; you will not want to put this book down, so schedule your day(s) off accordingly.

Animalistic! "Once you go witch, you’ll never switch?” Amelia Hutchins gives us a new devastatingly dark world to immerse ourselves in! I closed this book feeling bereft! A little broken. And in desperate need of more. I spent my entire day off, consuming, inhaling this story! If you're looking for enemies to lovers, get your armor for this one, guard your heart, and bubble wrap your kindle, because this book is BRUTAL! Passionate! RAW! "The man kissed like he was going to war, and my mouth was an enemy he wanted to destroy." I heard other's say, this one is dark. I'm like, o-kay, because my definition of dark may differ from theirs. I need to give my stamp of approval for the darkness. Woah! I'm warning you now, this is not an easy read, there's nothing smooth about this road, it's bumpy, it's windy, unforgiving, unrelenting! “I’m a woman, Knox. We only need a few minutes to rain hell down upon men. I wish you luck because you will need it. I’m about to rattle your fucking soul and bring you to your knees.” The characters are FIERCE! Determination, revenge fuel the battle of dominance. Aria has to be one of my favorite characters ever written. And Knox. That mother-f. Gods. I've never wanted an anti-hero to redeem himself more. Their connection was frustratingly good and bad and everything in between. Claws and fangs, flames and forging! "You’re probably like every other male on this planet who thinks bitches should bow down and worship that tiny little thing between your legs. I don’t fucking bow to anyone. I sure as fuck don’t bow to “some self-conceited, self-absorbed, self-appointed king” to a town that should be burned to ashes and destroyed, asshole,” Hands down, this book with stay with me for a long time. I don't even know if I can read anything else until the next book is released. 🤣 Amelia Hutchins has slayed my heart with all the angsty, depraved, disgusting, pineapple loving ways.

Imagine Fae Chronicles & Wicked Knights had a baby, that baby would be Flames of Chaos. I finished this book 2 days ago and I’m still in a book hangover. Gosh, this was a big book & I loved that it was! Didn’t want it to end! FOC has the perfect amount of mystery, action, drama & romance that Amelia always serves us, leaving us highly anticipating the next book to find out what happens next! Highly recommend to PNR/Fantasy/Strong-Herione/Alpha-Male lovers!

I had seen the teasers for this book and as with all of this authors work, I was intrigued. Amelia Hutchins does not just deliver a romance story - no. She wants to take you in, throw stuff around the room a bit, destroy normal preconceptions of what you expect from romance... even paranormal romance. If you want a story where woman meets man, man’s a bit of an alphahole but woman will make him change his ways... then this is not the book for you. Knox... man - I love him. The author writes him as unapologetically brutal with a touch of decent guy in him and I knew early on that I knew he was a book mangod (book boyfriend is too tame for Knox). Aria is a sassy, capable and perfectly down to earth witch, she’s a very likeable and relatable character and I love how she develops through the book. I absolutely loved the love hate chemistry! I cannot wait for the next book, this book was everything the teasers promised and MORE! Thoroughly deserving of 5 stars and more.

Awful. This may seem harsh, but I truly don't know how this book is rated so highly. It's always pretty sucky when you just can't seem to appreciate a book the way most others seem to be enjoying it, makes you wonder, "Was I reading the same book?"I probably should've known better, considering I didn't enjoy Amelia Hutchins' first series either (Fae Chronicles), but this kind of trope would normally really be my thing (based on the synopsis). Two chapters in and the amount of times the word "f**k/f**king/f**ked" was used in just two small chapters, made me recall one of my gran's favourite lectures: "Swearing is a lack of imagination". I'm no prude when it comes to swearing, but it just lent a level of crassness and juvenility to a book which I thought would be a bit more mature in nature.I'm also all for a enemies-to-lovers story, but I find it irritating when the characters are unnecessarily abusive and unkind towards one another. I'm just going to have to resign myself to the fact that I'm one of the minority who just could not get into the book.

This is the first book of hers that I have read, and it's very disappointing. I was warned that: This book is dark. It’s sexy, hot, and intense. The truth? I was bored to death. There was nothing dark about it, not for me. It took everything in me to keep going and finish it instead of throwing it away. The author warned that it would not be insta-love, but the main character is basically wet from the moment she met Knox. The synopsis got me expecting something like the hate and lust between Cardan and Jude in The Cruel Prince or the clever arguing between Rhysand and Feyre in A Court of Mist and Fury - but it's nothing like that.Knox. He's a jerk, he's a prick, he's super annoying, yeah I get it. I have read about evil king so many times, but I don't hate him because of that - I hate him because the author fucking repeats the same thing over and over. He wants to wreck Aria - I get that, but please don't repeat the same thing in over ten paragraphs, that makes me annoyed at the author instead of Knox. "I want to fuck her and destroy her but I can't" - imagine that sentence being repeated in different forms over and over again. I am tired and I mostly just skimmed those paragraphs. His rambling is boring! Mind you, reading from an evil king's point of view should feel exciting and evil. When I was halfway finished with the book, I still don't feel any excitement or see where this shit is going. I had to read that Liliana was fragile and Aria was stronger for a hundred times. The fuck. Stop. Stop repeating the same shit. The good things? Some parts are hilarious. Like, really funny. The plot is not bad, and I think I would've liked it better if the writing didn't suck. I feel bad because I really want to know what's going on next, but the writing really turned me off.

STUNNED. Flames of Chaos has left me absolutely stunned. Everyone else just step back because ALL the stars are going to Hutchins, not just the 5 we are allowed to give. This book is a shining example as to why Amelia Hutchins is such an amazing fantasy author. Very rarely do I binge read a book from start to finish, especially a behemoth like this one. Not only did I binge it start to finish, only pausing for a few hours of sleep, but I'm tempted to start re-reading it immediately. I think I STUNNED. Flames of Chaos has left me absolutely stunned. True to Hutchins style we have an Alpha male who wants to dominate and destroy paired with an Alpha female who isn't taking any of his shit. Knox puts Aria through the wringer. He is mean and hell bent on vengeance and chaos. Aria is just strong enough to take that chaos and throw it right back at him. They are perfection. Beautifully chaotic, burn the world to the ground and dance on the ashes perfection.

I have read all of Amelia's previous books so when she said she was creating a new world/series I couldn't wait to dive it. I couldn't put it down! Each chapter ends with you holding your breathe wondering what in the hell could possibly happen next. It was brutal and yet beautiful. I wanted to feel it again, to see if it happened again. I’d had boys touch my lips, but never anyone as terrifying or like Knox."The battle of wills between the alpha male and the kickass female, who has barely even dipped her toe into her potential at this point, is so much fun to read. Throughout the entire book I had that excited knot in my stomach wondering if they would wage war in the bedroom or the battlefield. The book itself is written from both characters POV which is perfect, I loved hearing Aria inner monologues. This was an absolute pleasure to read, it had all the heat, passion and power of Amelia's other books and so many amazing characters and worlds to discover.

Her family left their kingdoms in the care of others to come live in our world, but the mess her ancestors left behind is about to bite her in the ass.

EPIC! Without giving any spoilers this is one of my favorite books! The story is such a pull and push of emotions and a few suprises! Expect to cry a little, definitely laugh, hate someone and hate to love them, but most of all be entertained! Has scenes so hot your panties may melt ;-) . I'm an action kinda woman and this fulfills my every need. So bring your tissues and popcorn for this amazing ride

Brutal, Calculated, Intriguing Amelia Hutchins has open up her soul and gave us this brand new world. It's filled with intrigue and calculated motives with precise moves. All the while giving us a brutal game of cat and mouse with Aria and Knox. Aria and Knox's love hate chemistry is sizzling and downright raw and dirty. They go all in baring themselves and the brutality of love and war. I'll be desperately waiting for the next book in this series so we can find out what the Nine Relems has in Brutal, Calculated, Intriguing Amelia Hutchins has open up her soul and gave us this brand new world. Best Book Ever!!I am no stranger to Amelia's writing with her wonderful Fae Chronicles series but this new series is something else entirely. I was completely thrown for a loop and my brain can't even comprehend how amazing this is. I laughed, I wanted to bite both Aria and Knox's heads off because both can plainly see the hot steamy chemistry they have right down to their souls. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!
