Kiss My Cupcake
As two neighborhood shop owners battle for business, they prove opposites attract in this outrageously funny romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of Meet Cute. Blaire Calloway has planned every Instagram-worthy moment of her cupcake and cocktails shop launch down to the tiniest detail. What she didn't plan on? Ronan Knight and his old-school sports bar next door opening on the very same day. He may be super swoony, but Blaire hasn't spent years obsessing over buttercream and bourbon to have him ruin her chance at success. From axe throwing (his place) to frosting contests (hers), Blaire and Ronan are constantly trying to one-up each other in a battle to win new customers. But with every clash, there's also an undeniable chemistry. When an even bigger threat to their business comes to town, they're forced to call a temporary time-out on their own war and work together. And the more time Blaire spends getting to know the real Ronan, the more she wonders if it's possible to have her cupcake and eat it too.

Sweet, yet dirty and down right funny of a rom-com that Helena Hunting has brought to the table because Ronan and Blaire are one of a kind... If you know me already, you will know that my love for Helena's books are immense. I do not think I have stumbled across any of her books in which I have ever said, "wow... this was terrible". And you know why? Because her writing will forever satisfy my book needs and will always make me laugh and have those butterflies in my stomach through every word. Blaire and Ronan are not an exemption. They have proven to be the couple in which are the complete opposite but somehow, somewhere the world has proven them to be together in the most synchronized sort of way as not only rivals, but also partners who first strive to accomplish their best for their businesses but also for their own personal attributes. When a third rival comes into town and becomes a target in which can affect their own businesses, both Blaire and Ronan need to learn how to work together and not back down. Things get heated and complicated. Especially when Ronan and Blaire learn how to open up to each other, and become one. Together, they learn the truth about each other and love one another in the best and worst of ways. This is one novel in which had my guts twisting and turning with butterflies because of how much I loved Ronan's broody attitude, and Blaire's bubbly personality mixed that fire in her that makes her such a bad-ass character in the best way described. A ride of a novel that you cannot forget, I am looking forward to see what else Helena has up her sleeves.ARC kindly provided by Forever Romance, in exchange for an honest review...Follow Me On:Instagram ♕ Facebook ♕ Twitter

*googles where TF to find gourmet cupcakes in a pandemic*All right, y'all, I'm hungry. Let's chat about this novel.I usually enjoy Helena Hunting's books because they're a mix of fun escape, a tad improbable, and quite steamy. Kiss My Cupcake, on the other hand, didn't quite give me what I was expecting. While that's not necessarily a bad thing, I just never really connected with this book. There wasn't a long-lasting conflict in here, and everything kept wrapping up so neatly the entire time. I *googles where TF to find gourmet cupcakes in a pandemic*All right, y'all, I'm hungry. I'm also personally not a fan of Quirky Girl™ protagonists made in the image of Zooey Deschanel, so it took me a while to warm up to Blaire, and even when there was a pinch more depth added, there still wasn't a lot going on.I'm sad that I could fully embrace this novel like I have Hunting's others, but I'm definitely going to keep reading her work. While this was not my favourite from Helena Hunting, it was very enjoyable overall. Blaire and Ronan give us a sweet and feisty enemies-to-lovers romance, but at times it was also quite cringe-y. I thought that the tweets in-between... while I understood WHY they were there, could've been a little more creative.Blaire storms out in one scene and yells "KISS MY CUPCAKE" and thinks it's the most clever thing and I literally just inwardly cringed at it. She was throwing a hissy fit and the rivalry was becoming more immature on her part. When she finally kills him with sweet kindness, that is when I felt her character start to grow and THANK GOD she did. I don't think I would've made it if she didn't. She was also way too dismissive of her family being literally terrible to her and then we just completely brush it all off in the end because they came to visit and ate some cupcakes?! I don't think so. Everything was just way too NEAT in this book. It felt like there was no conflict at all.I felt like it moved really quick in the overall read but timeline as well, which was a relief as I have a hard time with romances that drag on when they don't need to. However, this felt very superficial. There wasn't a lot of depth in the story and everything just happened so quickly so there wasn't a lot of room for anything to be expanded on. Also somehow an axe-throwing bar is concerning? I've never been to one but I think that the idea of drinking and then throwing a sharp weapon at something is a disaster waiting to happen. But if that is what these places are like then I can't fault the book and also this point has nothing to do with my rating... I'm just confused. Above everything, I really wanted a damn cupcake. I wish instead of weird tweets, this book scattered boozy cupcake or cocktail recipes in between chapters. THAT would've been fantastic. Ronan was also probably the only character I liked. He was just being a little asshole in the beginning and I know her dislike towards him was because she didn't have the means to let him put her at a disadvantage when it came to her dream BUT she was immature and overall really needed the growth she later goes through. He stays pretty solid throughout which, I guess, is kind of boring. As I said, the lack of conflict just made this feel incomplete.

Helena Hunting’s Kiss My Cupcake is the perfect blend of sassy and sweet, and is just the sort of delightful romp that we need during this crazy moment in time. But when a bigger threat to their businesses comes into play, they reluctantly decide to team up… and that’s when the sparks really start to fly. As with her previous works, Hunting gives us wit, humor, and a whole lot of heart. Blaire’s quirky, but not in a gimmicky way, and Ronan’s character is just as well sketched. I always enjoy Hunting’s witty, unique banter and her protagonists’ inner monologues. (There are several laugh out loud moments.) She doesn’t give you a stereotypical, run-of-the-mill story; rather, she creates a world that is so well imagined you want to jump right into the pages and live there. (The fact that there’s chemistry in spades doesn’t hurt either.)This is the perfect novel to indulge in with a deliciously decadent cupcake or a craft beer or both (because, why not?), and is the perfect read to close out this wildly unique summer. An ARC was generously provided by the author in exchange for my honest (and, in this case, effusive) review.

This was a fun, enemies to friends to lovers romantic comedy. Blaire opens up Buttercream and Booze right next door to Ronan's The Knight Cap, and Blaire decides almost immediately that they are enemies. A bit of a prank war ensues, until they decide to work together to increase business when bigger competition moves in across the street. I liked this book, but had a few issues with it. Mainly, I thought that the enemies to lovers was a bit too over the top, and was resolved a bit too quickly. B This was a fun, enemies to friends to lovers romantic comedy. Mainly, I thought that the enemies to lovers was a bit too over the top, and was resolved a bit too quickly. Blaire was also very aggressive in the enemies stage. Additionally, the book was duel POV, however almost all of the chapters were in Blaire's POV so I found it almost pointless to shift the POV for only four chapters. However, I thought the tweets at the end of each chapter were really fun and I am a sucker for an enemies to lovers story. Review copy was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The way these two would razz each other was so much fun to read! Eventually what starts as a rivalry starts to heat up and I found myself swooning over these two. Blaire's family was a bit quirky and over the top and I didn't necessarily enjoy them - but I think that was the point. I loved Ronan's grandfather and the history behind The Knigh Cap. Enraged by this terrible unicorn tragedy, Blaire rushes to avenge her unicorn and meets the lumberjerk - Ronan. Apparently ax throwing is gonna be a thing next door. Que the immediate rivalry. I'm interested to see how the story continues, but from what I've read so far, it doesn't really make a ton of sense why Blaire feels like there is such a competition between her cupcake shop and the sports bar next door. They are very different things and if you want a cupcake you're not likely to head to the sports bar, and if you want to watch the football game you're not likely to hit up the cupcake shop.

SO CUTE! I loved this book. I also appreciated how this played into how she views romantic relationships. I also totally fell in love with Ronan's relationship with his Grandfather and how he valued his family legacy within the bar they own. Both of the protagonists were pretty relatable and, while I did not like Blaire at first, she definitely grew on me once her rough edges softened a bit and she became more reasonable when it came to her business and her interactions with Ronan. And RONAN! Holy hotness. The description of his tattoos and overall vibe was SO swoonworthy and had me on his side from the moment he was introduced. I actually would have appreciated more chapters from his point of view rather than having so many from Blaire's. He was such a great leading man and balanced the harshness of Blaire very well, especialy when it came to his business acumen.Overall, this is a highly recommended romance, It was super fun with a great enemies to lovers premise and was an easy read that threw in some depth here and there. There was one too many epilogues but it didn't kill the good feelings this book created and I would put this in the hands of most romance readers I know or just someone looking for a good time in a book.

Outstanding!Helena Hunting grabbed my attention from the beginning and I finished the book in one sitting! The writing was superb and the storyline was realistic. Throughout Kiss My Cupcake there was humor, romance, disappointment and hope. It had the perfect recipe for a 5 star review! Can money buy you everything? No! But love, faith and determination can lead you to a life of appreciation and happiness! I adored these characters and I, hands down, loved the epilogue! All. The. Feels.

I am a Helena Hunting super fan - I probably reread the Pucked books montly, no joke - but this was just... slight. The chemistry is there, and I adored the banter and the build up of the love story, but then once they recognize the chemistry between the two of them there's really not much THERE there. I still haven't figured out what the point of the Thanksgiving scene at Blaire's family's house is; it's just a set piece without a ton of payoff. And the conflict, such as it is, ends up being so drama-free as to be a bunch of meh. I enjoyed the characters, but I can't say that there's a whole lot of PLOT. I don't see this being added to my rotation of rereads at the same rate as something like Pucked, but I will probably dip into it periodically for a hit of happiness.

I was charmed and delighted by Blaire and Ronan from beginning to end – so much so that I didn’t want to put the book down.Blaire comes from a family of elite chefs who like to hobnob with the rich and famous. They want her to be a part of the family business, but Blaire’s heart is in frosting and fabulous martinis. She’s determined to make her own way and I loved her focus and dedication to making Buttercream and Booze (a café I wish were real because it sounds amazing) a success. Her dream is rattled – literally – by the business next door. Ronan is rehabbing his family bar and from the start he and Blaire clash. From the axe throwing to the loud bands on Saturday nights, the sexy lumberjack hipster is driving Blaire mad. But she can’t deny her attraction to the man and it’s easy for readers to see why. In addition to being utterly drool-worthy, Ronan is a sweetheart. He’s got a good heart, a fun sense of humor, and he’s just plain charming.Bickering and buttercream make a great start to this love story, especially with the ever-present simmering sexual tension. I loved watching Blaire and Ronan’s professional and personal relationships develop. When they team up professionally, it’s a wonderfully unique match. And personally… Damn, when author Helena Hunting turns up the heat, Ronan and Blaire are seriously sexy. The two of them fit one another like lock and key…or frosting and cupcake, to stick with the theme. I loved them as individuals and as a couple, enjoyed seeing them interact with their families and friends. Ronan and Blaire aren’t perfect and they do make mistakes, but those flaws add to the overall appeal of them. Because they are so likeable it was impossible for me not to get swept up in their love story. Kiss My Cupcake is smooth and sensual, flirtatious and fun. From Blaire and Ronan’s unique styles and tastes to the businesses they develop to the love story that’s sure to leave you smiling, there’s nothing I didn’t adore about this book. I cannot wait to revisit Ronan and Blaire again and again and again!FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting is a downright delicious romantic comedy that will leave you craving more. Seriously, an enemies-to-lovers romance that revolves around baked goods? Need I say more?! My eyes instantly turned to hearts the moment I read the synopsis and the book did not disappoint. Blaire Calloway is finally living her dream, opening up a bakery that not only serves delicious cupcakes but also decadent cocktails that pair perfectly with her desserts. After meticulously planning her launch party, she is all set and ready for opening. But there is one thing that she could have never prepared for: the lumberjack, axe-throwing heartthrob that owns the sports bar next door. Ronan Knight. Blaire and Ronan are now competing for business and hilariously try to one up each other at every turn. When a new business opens on the block and threatens their chance for success, they have to team up in order to keep their businesses going. And that’s when things start heating up both inside and out of the kitchen. This story was truly delectable. Kiss My Cupcake had all the ingredients for the perfect romantic comedy: plenty of laughs, feisty characters, sizzling chemistry, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments. If you’re looking for the perfect romantic comedy to sink your teeth into, this one’s for you! A huge thank you to Forever Publishing and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sadly, Kiss My Cupcake was not my cup of tea. I was trying to think what rating I should give it and 3 stars felt like too much? I sort of think it's okay and not great, you know. They don't get along from the start but it's more Blaire's dislike than Ronan we see. Ronan is sort of that little kid who bothers the heroine but it's all because he likes her. He puts a fake poop in front of her shop's door, keeps putting these little papers that tell her to take a class to relax and calm her anger, and so on. But when a new food place is opening up next to them, they team up. They realize they really get along and are comfortable with each other. It's a slow burn FOR SURE. I am warning you!!! Their first kiss doesn't happen until 67%, I think? So keep that in mind if you expect a kiss in the first half.Ronan's family was definitely a plus in this novel. They're all so nice and great, especially Ronan's grandpa! And all of Ronan's brothers are like "he can't stop talking about you" when they meet Blaire. I found that cute. But overall, I would say skip it? Content warnings: (view spoiler)[Blaire constantly says her family is crazy and insane, a student/professor relationship Blaire used to have. There are a lot of little things here and there that didn't really made me happy. (hide spoiler)]

Throw in that this is a food-centered romance & I am just in love with the concept. There's a lot to love in KISS MY CUPCAKE. For starters, it has a super cozy feel. I am a huge fan of food-themed (especially baking) cozier. This setting and dialogue lend itself to the cozy type of feel. The hero & the heroine are vying for their restaurants to be successful despite their obvious sexual tension. I love that the hero is managing his family's bar. His relationship with his family is really special & one of my favorite pieces of this book. I'll admit that the heroine's mention of a trust fund within the first chapter has me rolling my eyes. I get past that & still want to champion her. This is an open door romance but it is lighter on the steam. I felt it matched the sweet storyline perfectly. Truly, this one made me smile & is a quick enjoyable read! I will read it again in a heartbeat & I bet it will make a fantastic audiobook!

I've preached this before, but I love Helena Hunting's books. She is an auto-buy author for me and Kiss My Cupcake just proves why. This delicious story absolutely lived up to its adorable cover. Blaire grew up with a very wealthy family in the restaurant business and could have easily transitioned into their business, but went out on her own and I respected her for that. Also loved her quirky style and no nonsense attitude when it came to dealing with her business. Ronan has been through a lot in life, was hardworking and oh so sweet with his grandfather. There were fun supporting characters and crazy family members adding to the fun. All of the amazing cupcake recipes had me hungry throughout! I adore an enemies to lovers story and this one fit the bill for me. It took a while for the story to get to the steam, but once it did, whew, it was hot! Highly recommend this one if you are a fan of enemies to lovers, hot guys, cupcake and/or booze.Thank you Readforeverpub for gifting me a copy of this in exchange for my honest opinion!
