High Plains Cyborg (Cyborgs on Mars #0.5)
One big cyborg cowboy. One tiny human female. One impossible attraction. When Jo's partner abandons her as soon as they arrive on Mars, it's yet another reminder of what she has always known: the only person she can count on is herself. But she is determined not to let his absence prevent her from claiming the one thing she has always wanted - a permanent home. Earth Government is offering land to anyone who can work a claim for five years and she isn't going to let loneliness, global dust storms, or a mysterious, attractive cyborg stop her. C-487 no longer feels human emotions. They have been left behind in the pain of his transformation and the long, lonely years working to make Mars suitable for human settlement. The majority of that work completed, there is little left for him now except making sure that these foolish humans don't kill themselves or each other. Until he sees her - a tiny, determined female who makes his long-forgotten heart beat faster. Can a woman who is afraid to trust and a cyborg who has forgotten how to love find their dreams together? High Plains Cyborg is the prequel to the Cyborgs on Mars series and can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy romance is intended for mature readers.

Cyborgs! I love cyborg stories. This a short story, though I would really love to read more about Jo and C-487. It’s an interesting world. The cyborgs have been ill-used, they almost always work alone. It’s very lonely. New settlers work under very rough conditions for the opportunity to own their claim. It’s a harsh world; one I want to explore in more detail. After all, it took many cyborgs to terraform Mars to be ‘livable,’ and many settlers to bring it all to life! More, please, Ms. Cyborgs! I enjoyed this story from Honey Phillips. Cyborgs on Mars and the women who fall in love with them. The Cyborg and Heroine( Clint & No ) were likeable characters and I'm glad the story just flowed. Heat level 1\2 stars. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys sci-fi romance, cowboys or sexy lawmen!! I enjoyed this story from Honey Phillips. Cyborgs on Mars and the women who fall in love with them. First the bad, When will authors stop using the worst word in the entire English language to describe a female body part, it is disgusting and not needed, and most definitely not in a alien romance, I am sure that if there is life out there somewhere they have a much netter vocabulary than we do. I think the word C. U. N. T is highly offensive and should be BANNED from all books unless you are writing PORNOGRAPHY. As of 2020 if you use this word in your books I will be down grading your works. As of 2020 if you use this word in your books I will be down grading your works. I am sure as writers you can come up with a better word, In England (UK) as a child you would be punished for even whispering this word, as an adult you are severely frowned upon. I am not a prude and do not normally complain about the language used but this word is VILE and in this day and age you would think it would be banned. The story it self started out actually very well and I was quite excited for it, I do love a good Cyborg romance, but this quickly lost it's sparkle, it was far too sweet, any sweeter we would have been able to spoon it, The tale concentrates on Jo who has gone to Mars to start over, get a plot of land and grow from it, the condition been she has to stick it out for 5 years, initially she arrives with someone else, who is a dud, but along comes C-487 his real name is CLINT !! really the writer couldn't think of a better manly name for a cyborg than Clint. It was a quick enjoyable read, but not one I will remember nor will want to follow the series. It had the potential to be so much more but fizzled out. Apologies for such a downer review but getting a bit fed up with seeing 5 star reviews on books that do not deserve it. Its wasting my money

Well, they fly slowly, but these two get there eventually.Their biggest hurdle is that Jo wants to prove to herself that she can make it on her own, so he fights her attraction to her cyborg until she just can't anymore. *heart eyes*Yep, I'm digging cyborgs who have hearts of gold buried under their muscles and metal.-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

4 This was a short / sweet romance. Cyborgs are humans that have more cybernetics and biologic organs. They've terra formed Mars and now the planet is ready for humans to continue the process. Jo is a homesteader that's been abandoned by her friend and partner. That's OK though, she's caught the eye of one of the cyborgs who police the colonists. Clint, now known as C-487 has forgotten humans felling until he sees Jo and realizes he still has a heart. He helps Jo set up her homestead and they 4 ⭐This was a short / sweet romance. I voluntarily read an arc of this book for an honest review. This was such a sweet, heart warming story. Josephine is tough and yet vulnerable. She’s been betrayed and knows you can only count on yourself. Clint aka C-487 has become a cyborg and was sent to terraform Mars and is now a peace keeper. One glance and Clint knows Josephine is his. But she’s an independent woman and doesn’t want to rely on anyone but herself. heartwarming, fun romancefor a short story, this was excellent at character building and, quite literally, world building. loved the main characters and the whole homesteading thing though I am not brave enough myself to ever venture off world. the heroine has guts and determination, necessary for homesteading and loved that she was ready to tackle it all through her own strength. the hero was a great character and loved that he grew emotionally. looking forward to more of this series

Josephine is strong, determined and willing to look past the outer trappings of a person. Clint is strong, alpha, vulnerable, and doesn’t realize until Jo that he wants someone to love. He helps her without telling her what to do or doing it all for her and she is willing to accept help, rather than let her pride get in the way, and she appreciates that he could do everything for her but doesn’t. Their story is a wonderful adventure and so sweet. I cannot wait for the next book!

This was a fab prequel to a new series and I loved not only the setting - a new Mars colony - but also the cyborg element. True grit is needed for homesteading and our gal, Jo, sure had that in spades! Didn't mean she didn't need a hand, though, and Clint, a sweetheart of a cyborg, was her perfect match. Detail rich, this story really sets the stage for the series and I look forward to the next book.

I loved it! The perfect length for night reading! I loved this sweet and fast-paced story! It was the perfect length to read at bedtime on a work night, and I appreciate the brevity as well as this beautiful story. Jo and Clint made a cute couple, eventually, but their journey helped define their characters and their absolute perfectness together. I can't wait to see if Morgan gets a story too!

Clint and JosephineWhat a delightful story. Josephine has had a hard life on Earth . She grabs at a chance to make a new life for herself on Mars. When her partner leaves her, Josephine goes ahead with her plans. Catching the eye of Clint, a Cyborg, adds to her new life on Mars. A thoroughly enjoyable novel. Honey Phillips writes great stories! And I love the cyborg ones. This one is on Mars, more or less, lol. But it’s a HEA and I enjoyed the descriptions of daily life and interactions w the cyborg deputy(s). What a thing, pioneering on Mars. But cyborgs are amazing, always a good choice. There’s a man under there... <3

The start of the Cyborgs on Mars series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Josephine/Jo came to Mars with her boyfriend to settle ,but then he decided he wanted to do something else. Cyborg Ranger 487/Clint helps her on her land and they draw closer. I enjoyed reading their story. I want to read the rest of this series.

Great book. I really enjoyed it. Could not put down! Clint is a cyborg, treated like emotionless machine. Everyone freaks when they see him, then he sees Jo. She is the first to treat him like a person. I loved his horse, Red. Love cyborgs, love Ms Phillips and loved this. It’s a short intro into a new series but it sets the scene for how the cyborgs came to be, how they’re perceived and what their rights are/aren’t. Can’t wait for more
