Waking Up Married
I’ve never seen Emily Clarke as anything more than my little sister’s best friend. One drunken mistake later, she’s my wife.My first thought is how to get out of this, except our wedding video has gone viral and record sales are skyrocketing. My manager thinks following the newlyweds on the second season of my band’s reality show will keep up the momentum.I just have to get Emily to agree to faking this marriage for six months, and then we can quietly divorce.Right?Wrong.Nothing is quite that simple when feelings blur the line between a contract and reality. I ended up with more than just a hangover when I found myself waking up married.

Gah! It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of rock star romance, and more specifically, the ones written by Lisa Suzanne. I can always count on her to deliver an unputdownable, funny, feel-good romance, and it's what drives me to pick up her books time and time again. And once again, she penned another winner with Waking Up Married. It was right up my alley, and I loved everything about it. An imaginative plot coupled with endearing characters embroiled in a sweet and sexy romance that is both heart-tugging and heartwarming. This was pure rock star perfection from start to finish.Adam is the guitarist for MFB and also the brother of Amber who is Emily's best friend. Pretty much all of her life, Emily has had a huge crush on Adam. After a night of celebrating Amber's birthday in Vegas, Emily wakes up with no memory of what happened the night before. She soon discovers that she and Adam have matching tattoos and are now husband and wife. Stunned by the news, the two of them are determined to fix their mistake. But unfortunately the band has other plans for them. They are to stay married for six months for the sake of their reality show. Not to mention the skyrocketing sales. But somewhere along the way, lines become blurred as real feelings develop. Waking Up Married is a fantastic blend of sweet, sexy romance with a dose of humor thrown in for good measure. This is exactly what readers have come to crave from this author. It was perfectly executed, light-hearted, fun, and I positively inhaled it all in one sitting. Hold onto your hats folks because this fake marriage/best friend's brother romance will take you on one hell of a ride. 5 stars and more for Waking Up Married and Lisa Suzanne.

And of course I can't not mention how Lisa always gives us a bit of her old characters which I LOVE! We always get to see our favorites characters from her and it always makes the book a bit more special in my eyes.Getting into the main charcaters though, I adored both the hero and heroine. Their story is a bit of a insta love but it didn't bother me because these two have a long history - Adam is Amber's brother who happens to be Emily's bestfriend. And all her life Emily has had a crush on Adam so when she wakes up married to Adam. after a weekend celebrating Amber's birthday in Vegas, she is mindblown and can't help but be a little happy... the teen girl still inside definitely squeeled ahah. These two are forced to stay married for the sake of the reality show and sales. And watching them work up a plan to make things work for both of them is pretty great... soon feelings come back for Emily and Adam realises how the right girl has been in front of his eyes all along. It's a pretty sweet and fun story that will pull you in from the first page until the last. This an accidental/fake marriage and a bestfriends sibling romance all-in-one and it's a pretty fun and, sometimes a little angsty, ride. ➳ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review.➳ Follow me on: Blog ⁕ Instagram ⁕ Facebook ⁕ Twitter

What did I love about this new release by Lisa Suzanne? There was sooo much on that list for me! Crushing for years on her best friends older brother, check. Adam is that almost perfect man and Emily is the smart, beautiful woman, who has quietly fantasized about him from afar...forever. Amber, his sister and Emily, her best friend, take a girls weekend roadtrip to Vegas to see Adam's band play and have some much needed fun. You know what happens there is supposed to stay there, right, but what if you get alittle extra, more than you could've ever dreamed of. What if you wake up married? What will happen when you agree to something that confuses the hell out of your well ordered world? This concept is one of my favorites- the drunken marriage mistake with so much hilarity mixed in as the bride and groom wake up and that lightbulb slowly flickers on in the back of their hungover minds! So priceless! Then, of course, my romance catnip- a hot rocker to make my day complete. I just found myself completely engrossed in their story from the first pages, difficult to put it down 'til I couldn't keep my eyes open one more minute and then reached for my kindle as soon as I woke up. So sad to leave my new characters behind to go to work and then delighted to finish that last 10% to get my perfect, romantic HEA! A wonderful, touching story and so well written in my opinion.Lovable, witty characters, some exciting drama and angst but not enough to cause mental pain! Swoonworthy, adorable and sometimes romantic inner thoughts by Adam and Emily were woven into the story that just touched my heart. You'll know them when you see them! I also appreciated the sprinkles of humor, smiled to myself so many times and really just loved everything about this gem of a story. This is my third book by Lisa and I know now that if she writes it, I'll surely be reading it! Must say- Recommend! My thanks to the author for the pleasure of this early copy to read and review.

Lisa Suzanne has an uncanny way of taking a storyline that some may say at first glance has already been done and making is so unique and original. Her writing is like a Hallmark movie only MUCH better .. just like Hallmark movies always having a first kiss in the last 5 minutes, her books always have a twist that I didn't see coming. And she gave of SO MUCH MORE than a kiss in the last 5 minutes! There were soooo many quotable quotes that I ended up having so much of the book highlighted. Loved It!!Adam and Emily’s story was hard to put down once I started it. This author always comes through for me with the way she brings her rock stars to life. Adam was a brother to Emily’s best friend so she had always been around but not like he sees her now. Of course Emily has had a crush on Adam forever and now with a little trip to Vegas to celebrate her birthday they have a license to prove they are much more.As with all of Ms. Suzanne’s stories I definitely recommend this book as well. ARC Review of “Waking Up Married” by Lisa SuzanneThe story of Emily and Adam hooked me from the beginning. I really love how Adam is vulnerable and different from your "typical" rock star story right from the start. He’s a “relationship” guy, but alas, a rock star from the band MFB as well, so finding a girl to love him for who he is when not in the spotlight is always a challenge. And exhausting at that. He’s a “relationship” guy, but alas, a rock star from the band MFB as well, so finding a girl to love him for who he is when not in the spotlight is always a challenge. And exhausting at that. Enter Emily Clarke, his little sister’s best friend. He’s known her since they were kids, but did she ever look like this? Well, if she did, Adam did not notice until his sister, Amber, and Emily arrive at his suite in Las Vegas to celebrate Amber’s birthday - Vegas style! Emily, fresh off a break up from her cheating, lying, no good ex-boyfriend, Chad, is looking for a healing weekend away with her bestie. She hopes to forget about the breakup and apartment hunting that awaits her when she returns home. Little does she know that’s not all she’ll forget! As Adam opens the door to his Las Vegas hotel suite, all of those tween feelings she had towards Amber’s big brother come rushing back, but now they are mixed in with some very womanly feelings for this delicious man standing in the doorway...in his TOWEL! And he seems to be noticing how grown up she is too. A night of concerts, after parties and fun ensues. Adam and Emily enjoy candid conversation and this new and mature attraction to one another. After Emily points out they have “recently single” status in common, they discover that the attraction isn’t just physical. There is something about who they are now that pulls them towards one another. Some conversation, accompanied with quite a few drinks and shots, stokes the feelings of mutual desire. But they both acknowledge they are more “relationship” people and don’t do the random hook up thing. As the night wears on, the chemistry and familiarity between Adam and Emily starts to make them feel like maybe one night together wouldn’t be so bad...and maybe if it went a little longer than one night that wouldn’t be so bad either...but waking up married?!When Adam’s manager, Kylie, shows him how album sales have increased over 500% since their wedding video went viral he knows this is about to turn in a totally different direction. The plan is hatched to stay married through the airing of the new season of their reality show. Adam knows he needs to do this for the band, but can he get Emily to agree? Will she think Adam’s gestures of affection and promises are all just for the cameras? Could this be real for Emily? So many questions and the only way to answer them is to dive into this awesome read face first!I LOVE these characters! I was not familiar with the MFB Band family/universe and now have all of those bookmarked to read now too! You will love the way Lisa draws you in and makes both characters’ hearts and anxiety so real and understandable. Enjoy!

And it was a relief, I’m so tired of that kind of characters. And Emily was just perfect, genuine and lovable. And the secondary characters are the perfect complement to their story.I won’t say anything else because I don’t want to spoil it. Just that it was a well written story that made me fall in love.

Every character were all relatable and endearing, making this story a sweet, sexy, funny, light-hearted, and heart-warming. Simply romantic and simply entertaining. Once again, Lisa Suzanne creates plots that warm the hearts and tugs at the emotions. I absolutely loved all of the subplots of the book as well and look forward to the next one.

The emotions and ups and downs that the two went through were touching and frustrating at times. And then when you throw the ex in—the things that can happen along with misunderstandings can get wild. I was so thankful for the guys in the band having Adam’s back as well as one of the guys’ fiancé helping Emily out. This is a great book that I strongly encourage you to read. Waking Up Married is a good read. I really liked Adam he's a different type of book boyfriend. He's a rockstar but he's not a hookup type of guy, he's looking for a relationship. Emily is Adam's sister's best friend. Emily is going through a rough time. Emily has just gained an ex-boyfriend and goes to Vegas with Amber to see Adam's band. Emily is a down to earth girl and I really liked her. These two are great characters and have a great story to tell.

This is the first story I've read in a long time where the guy is deeper into the relationship than the girl is.Rock star Adam and Emily, his sister's best friend, get drunk and wake up married in Vegas.Add his band-mates, his manager and a reality show, that records everything they say and do, making it difficult to tell what is real and what is pretend. A real recipe for disaster and a lot of doubt about whether their feelings are real or not.

This is my virgin book by Lisa Suzanne. Although it is listed as a standalone and can definitely be read as such, I get the impression that it’s part of a series because the male lead Adam, is the lead guitarist in a rock band MFB with three of the other four members already coupled up. The way the other coupled band members significant others are frequently alluded to I have the impression that each of those couples comes with their own story. Reading the synopsis, I thought this would just be a lite rom.-com. And not very original at that. It’s hardly the first story based around a couple waking up in Vegas after a night of drinking to find themselves married. It’s not even the first story based upon a woman waking up in Vegas after a night of drinking married to a rock star. I think there’s even a Hallmark movie. It’s not even really a rom.-com. Because there are more angsty parts than there are funny ones. But it is an engaging story with some real depth of character and a story line that makes you want to pull for our two lead characters to get their happily ever after. It is a best friends older brother romance.Emily and Amber have been BFFs since they were ten years old growing up in San Diego. Emily has had a crush on Amber’s four years older brother Adam for just about as long. Now in their mid-twenties Emily discovers the guy she’s been living with for a couple of years is cheating on her with one of her friends. She flees their apartment to take respite and get herself together at Amber’s. It’s coming upon Amber’s birthday weekend. Her big brother Adam, now the lead guitarist and back up vocalist in the very popular band MFB has invited his little sister to a gig they’re playing in Las Vegas for her birthday weekend. Amber convinces Emily to come along for a wild girl’s weekend. The minute they show up at Adam’s hotel suite Adam realizes that Emily, the annoying little best friend of his annoying little sister that always had a crush on him is no longer little nor annoying. She sparks something within him that he hasn’t felt since he broke up with his long-time girlfriend six months ago. A lot of drinking ensues before and after MFBs performance. The next morning Adam and Emily wake up naked in bed with matching tattoos, and matching rings on their left-hand ring fingers. Neither can remember anything from the time they left the after-party until they wake up the next morning. A quick conversation between them and Amber and Rascal (a band member Amber hooked up with) reveals the truth in video. While blacked out drunk they got married at a Vegas twenty-four-hour wedding chapel and now it’s all over the internet. If that’s not bad enough Kylie, the band’s manager and fiancée of Dax the band’s front man convince them to stay married for the next six months while the band is the subject of a reality show. Adam quickly realizes he wants more than six months with Emily. The more time he spends with her the more convinced he becomes that she’s his forever person. But Emily (although she’s always been half in love with Adam) is the antithesis of spontaneous, drunken wedding aside. She’s a paralysis by analysis kind of girl. Having been recently burned by her ex-boyfriend, not being sure when Adam’s shows of affection are real or for the television cameras and also not sure that he is over his former girlfriend, Emily is a tough sell. She’s also not sure she can deal with the very public life Adam leads as a rock star. Adam has to work hard to prove to Emily that he can trust her and that he is worth the effort. Emily struggles to overcome her own careful nature and her fear of getting her heart broken. Good characters and a better than expected story.

This is the story of Adam and Emily. Adam is the guitarist for the up-and-coming band MFB (which if you’ve read any of Lisa’s previous books, you would be familiar with both MFB and Adam) - he’s young, hot, sexy and very single….not your typical rocker, he’s not into one-night stands and is recently single after a long-term relationship. Emily is Adam’s younger sister’s best friend and has been not-so-secretly in love with him forever. He’s only ever thought of Emily as his obnoxious little sister’s friend. Until Las Vegas. Emily is all grown up and very recently single (thanks to her cheating ex-boyfriend) and tags along with her BFF to spend the weekend in Vegas with the band and to have some fun after her breakup. As soon as Adam sees Emily (it’s been a few years) - the sparks fly. She is no longer his little sister’s friend but someone he can’t keep his eyes or his mind off of.After spending some time together before the band’s first gig of the weekend, they learn they have some things in common (they are both “relationship” people, for example) and it becomes increasingly obvious that they are attracted to each other. Post-gig, they all go out to one of the clubs to enjoy the Vegas experience and the next morning, Adam and Emily wake up together, naked, hungover, discover matching wrist tattoos and, eventually learn, a very valid marriage license. In their drunken state, these two almost-strangers, have gotten married. Their marriage video is leaked and goes viral on social media almost instantly. A series of events has them deciding to “stay married’ and the remainder of the story has them each fighting their true attraction and feelings for each other, while putting on a show of being happy newlyweds for their family and friends and for the TV cameras that are now following the band on the road as a second installment of a reality show they had done previously. It’s another fantastic story from Lisa Suzanne and if you’ve read any of her previous books in this “series” you will not be disappointed in Adam’s story. It’s fun to “watch” Adam and Emily’s relationship evolve, as she gets used to her new lifestyle as a rocker’s wife and he learns to trust again as well as realize what true love truly is. You will enjoy re-visiting characters from earlier books (both Vail and MFB stories) as well as laugh out loud at the side story/exploits of Rascal and Adam’s sister.

5+ Rockin` Stars!I just love Ms. Suzanne`s rock star books! I could not put this book down and read well into the wee hours of the morning ... on a work day! Adam just grabbed my heart right from the beginning ... who wouldn`t want a rock star hunk who actually wants to be in a relationship? And I felt so sorry for Emily ... she just wanted her dream life - a husband, 2.5 kids and a dog. I just love the realistic banter between the characters in Ms. Suzanne's books, I fell like I'm right there 5+ Rockin` Stars!I just love Ms. Suzanne`s rock star books! I just love the realistic banter between the characters in Ms. Suzanne's books, I fell like I'm right there in the story with them. This book checked all the boxes for me ... it was funny, romantic, dramatic and the steamy scenes were ... well STEAMY!Adam is the lead guitarist for the rock band MFB. Adam and his long time girlfriend broke up six months ago and he`s having a hard time getting over her. Emily just caught her live-in boyfriend cheating with one of her friends. Her childhood friend Amber (Adam's sister) convinces her to come to Vegas and see her big brother`s band play ... and it just so happens that Emily has had a crush on Adam since she met him all those years ago. But back then Adam just saw her as his annoying little sister`s annoying best friend. After not seeing Emily for a few years, Adam can`t take his eyes off her ... she has become an absolute beauty. Their first night in Vegas, one thing leads to another and the next thing you know, Adam and Emily wake up in bed together ... naked and married! Neither one of them can remember anything, but it was all caught on video and when the video goes viral, the band`s record sales skyrocket. Emily agrees to stay `fake`married to Adam while they record the second season of their reality tv show. Now all they have to do is make everyone believe they are madly in love without falling madly in love. Not only do I recommend this book ... but I highly recommend the whole series! Well ... when you get right down to it, I would recommend ALL of Ms. Suzanne's rock star books.I graciously received an early copy courtesy of the author in exchange for a honest review.

Emily needs to escape after finding her boyfriend cheating on her. Emily's best friend Amber is going to visit her brother Adam and his band in Vegas. Not wanting to leave her best friend alone after finding out about her boyfriend Amber drags her along for her birthday weekend. Emily has always had a major crush on her best friend's older brother. As soon as Adam opens the door of his Las Vegas Suite Emily remembers just how much of a crush she had on him and Adam notices she's not the same Emily needs to escape after finding her boyfriend cheating on her. As soon as Adam opens the door of his Las Vegas Suite Emily remembers just how much of a crush she had on him and Adam notices she's not the same girl he remembers, but now a woman. Sparks fly between the two as they hang out and both comment how they are relationship people and not one night stand people. After a few tequila shots and some other booze they both wake up the next morning not remembering the night before where they got married! With Adam being a rock star everyone knows about the two getting married and the bands manager, Kylie, shows Adam how much the bands sales have risen after everyone found out about the marriage. Adam's band is supposed to be doing a reality television show and after finding out how everyone has reacted asks Emily to stay married to him for 6 months. Emily decides to help him out, except what happens when the feelings she felt when she was younger become stronger. After all, this is only supposed to be a fake marriage...right? But the way Adam is making her feel she doesn't know if she can pretend to be in love with her husband when she really is falling in love with him. Also, is Adam only acting this way because of the show or is he feeling what she's feeling?I loved the side characters and the chemistry between Adam and Emily. I liked that Emily thought things through and didn't just follow her heart. There were times that I wanted to smack Adam, but as a whole I really liked how he went after what he wanted. There were a few things that I feel were just added in as drama and never felt fully resolved, but I will definitely be checking out more of this author's books, especially Amber and Rascal's book.

Oh lordy, this book was such an easy 5 stars for me. Adam, kinda serious and sensible for a Rock Star, he's a relationship kinda guy, but between the groupies etc, he just wants to be loved for himself, not for who he is. He's a little bit lost after breaking up with his long term girlfriend who he had been with even before his band MFB became famous. Now though who can he trust? Emily, nice girl, sensible and isn't into one night stands etc, she's a relationship kinda girl, until she finds her Oh lordy, this book was such an easy 5 stars for me. What could be better than heading off to Vegas with her best friend Amber, only problem is that the weekend will be spent with her best friends older brother Adam from MFB who she has had a huge crush on FOREVER !!! So what happens when u wake up in Vegas Married to the man of your dreams !!!!This book was filled with fun, romance, depth, emotion, hot and steamy and ticked all the right boxes from the beginning.Adam and Emily were the perfect couple, and I loved that right from the start they both had a lot of respect for each other. Adam was the perfect man, even though a Rock Star, and Emily even with all her hesitation of being or living the Rock Star life found her way. This author just makes you feel so involved, with each and every character in the book, yes its about Adam and Emily, but this author makes it all realistic, because the importance of having friendships and people we love around us supporting us is always needed, and this group are a family you would love to belong with!! Falling in love with each other was easy for Emily and Adam, but navigating it to work in their real world was the challenge and this book just flowed right into your heart. Ups and down, twists and turns had me glued to the pages. Once again the author has made this book along with the others in this series definite Must Reads !!!!

Waking Up Married by Lisa Suzanne is a standalone, contemporary, accidental/fake marriage, rockstar romance told in first person, dual POV. It follows the relationship between Adam, lead guitarist for the famous rock band MFB, and Emily, his little sister’s best friend. Previous books tell the love stories of other MFB band members, and though it’s unnecessary to read those to enjoy this story, doing so provides maximum enjoyment when familiar characters reappear. Previous books tell the love stories of other MFB band members, and though it’s unnecessary to read those to enjoy this story, doing so provides maximum enjoyment when familiar characters reappear. To catch up on the other members of MFB, you’ll want to read Take My Heart (Dax, lead singer), The Benefits of Bad Decisions (Brody, drummer), and the MFB prequel short story Happy Blue Year (Kane, bass player) from Wild in the Windy City: The Anthology Volume 3. Fresh out of a breakup from her cheating boyfriend, Emily goes to Vegas to celebrate her best friend Amber’s birthday and blow off some steam. A series of events leads to her waking up the next morning next to Adam, her life long crush and Amber’s famous brother. Neither Emily nor Adam have any memory of what happened the previous night but they soon find out that they got married. Although Emily is Amber’s best friend, she and Adam barely know each other. Everything is further complicated because of MFB’s upcoming reality show and the media catching wind of the marriage.I loved Adam and Emily’s story! It hooked me right away and kept me reading to the end. I couldn’t put it down. Blending the tropes of rockstar romance with best friend’s sibling/sibling’s friend and accidental/fake marriage made for an addictive and super fun read. The characters were all relatable and endearing. The story was sweet, sexy, funny, light-hearted, and heart-warming. I read this book in one sitting and loved every minute! Highly recommended.*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***

Come for the rock stars, stay for the adorableness.I loved this book so freaking much. Lisa Suzanne is my number one for rock star romances. She just makes them so approachable and attainable, while still showing they’re clearly rock stars and I love that so much. This book is sweet and sexy and I loved every second of it. I’m a huge sucker for a married in Vegas story and this one was definitely perfect. Also, fake marriage? This book is sweet and sexy and I loved every second of it. I’m a huge sucker for a married in Vegas story and this one was definitely perfect. Also, fake marriage? You’re just adding all my favorite tropes and making them all work great together. Adam and Emily have known each other for a long time, Emily has always had a crush on Adam. But, until now, Adam’s only seen her as his little sister’s best friend. Once in Vegas, they finally see each other and things go too far too fast as they tend to do when Vegas and alcohol are involved.I absolutely loved that Adam was always willing to talk to Emily. Sometimes he was afraid and sometimes he needed an extra push, but he definitely always made sure that misunderstandings didn’t stand in their way for too long. There was plenty of misunderstandings and miscommunications but they never had a chance to ruin their progress or ruin their relationship and that’s about as much of that as I like. I like a bit of drama, but I don’t like it to feel like it’s setting the progress back and I think this was done so well in this book.Adam is an absolute sweetheart and I loved seeing him make a real effort to show Emily he cared for her. I loved watching both of them develop real feelings for each other in the progress of going through their fake relationship. I love MFB and I can’t wait to see more from them!!

I came into this book completely blind to the MFB world but that was okay! Emily has always had a crush on Adam but has never acted on it because he was in a longterm relationship. Waking up naked next to Adam, with matching tattoos and wedding rings is not the way they thought their night end, especially as neither of them remember it. However, after a video of their wedding goes viral, and with a reboot of their reality show starting filming the next week, Adam asks Emily if they can stay married for six months. Cue drama, miscommunication and a lot of built up sexual tension between Adam and Emily, you have yourself a great rockstar, best friend's brother romance!I love this story, it pulled me in right away and I was hooked. I needed to know how it ended, so ended up reading it all in one go. I always love an accidental wedding in Vegas story, but add in the rockstar and bff brother element and you have yourself a winner! You could feel the chemistry between them just reading the book and I loved the side characters too, I will definitely be going back and reading the other band member's stories! Adam and Emily's story was sweet, sexy, funny, light-hearted, and heart-warming. Definitely recommend!*** Thank you to Give Me Books for providing me with a ARC in return for leaving an honest. ***
