Rock Star, Unbroken (Tragic Duet, #2)
I knew better and I let it happen anyway.I was drawn in by her kindness and the way she sees into people. The way she looks through their motivations, their fears, into the heart of them where the good waits. One glance and she’s stripped away the layers we wrap ourselves in to keep from being unique. She saw into me.Then used it to her advantage. Now, my son is in danger and if she’s behind it, there won’t be a hole deep enough for her to hide in.I broke my own rules for Naomi. My son will not pay the price.Cover coming soon.Bloggers and Bookstagrammers sign up here. https://forms.gle/dTf7D9kDfSLmdbDE7

It held my heart (the entire duet really) and wouldn’t let go. I love a book that will kick start my emotions and this one did just that! SQUEE!!!! This is a must-read romance duet. It’s one of my favorites EVER WRITTEN! If you haven’t read the first book in this duet ROCK STAR, INTERUPPTEDthen STOP READING THIS and go read that one first! As with all duets, the books MUST be read in order. If you have read it then I’m assuming your anxious to get your hands on this one because of how RSI ended. Well, you won’t be disappointed because S.M. Shade concludes Axton and Naomi’s story PERFECTLY. I must admit, I never thought these two would be able to get over the lies and betrayal and come together. And while things DO get better, the buildup is ACTION PACKED GOODNESS. I’ll even go further and say that I didn’t think Axton could redeem himself to me as a reader. He truly comes off as an egotistical JERK (in the beginning and throughout a LOT of this book). HOWEVER, once we get to the bottom of his emotions and see WHY he is like this, things begin to clear. He certainly redeemed himself to ME after laying out his emotions and past. Shannon Shade can write an ALPHAHOLE though and while I wanted to slap him numerous times, I ended up loving him. Sigh.. So good! All in all, this is an EXCELLENT duet. It’s a rock star romance with a bit of suspense and LOTS of secrets and lies. The twist at the end? I had a slight feeling I KNEW who was wreaking havoc, but I didn’t know WHY and was SHOCKED to find out. FREAKIN A- Shannon threw a curve ball I wasn’t expecting! So, if you enjoy books like this, don’t miss this one! I highly recommend it. _________________________________________ LET’S CONNECT – YOU CAN FIND ME ON: MY BLOG | INSTAGRAM | FACEBOOK | TWITTER | BOOKBUB

Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to this amazing duet! My poor heart almost didn't survive Axton and Naomi's story. It was so utterly heartbreaking and filled with so much emotion, but I loved every single second of it. The heartache, the pain, the plot, the writing, the characters. S.M. It started off with a bang and finished even stronger.Rock Star, Unbroken starts off exactly where Rock Star, Interrupted left off with Naomi behind bars and the Wow! It started off with a bang and finished even stronger.Rock Star, Unbroken starts off exactly where Rock Star, Interrupted left off with Naomi behind bars and the continued search for little Caden. As can be expected, Axton is a wreck. Just as he lets his guard down and starts to fall for Naomi, tragedy strikes and old fears begin to resurface. He is sick with worry over his son, but at the same time feels betrayed by Naomi. I honestly wasn't sure these two could get past all of the secrets, lies and betrayal. But they do, even though it takes a while. Axton certainly comes across as a mega alphahole, but he definitely redeems himself as we progress into the story. As much as I disliked him at times, by the end, I was head over heels in love with him.Overall, this was one phenomenal duet! I can't even begin to recommend it enough. S.M. Shade certainly knows how to hook you and keep you invested until the very end. Once I started this book, I simply could not put it down. And although this duet has come to an end, I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next. Five stars for Axton, Naomi and Rock Star, Unbroken!

Oh what a fantastic continuation following Naomi and Axton. There was so much back and forth between these two it was giving me whiplash. As much as I love our main characters I fell even more in love with Dani and seriously want to see her have her own book. Can't wait to read more.

Shocking, Emotive & So Unexpected!! A Must Read Conclusion! Rock Star, Unbroken (Tragic Duet, #2)This book had a lot to live up to, I'm happy to say it was successful! It picks up almost where 'Rock Star, Interrupted' left off, with that hugely shocking conclusion!!There is heart break & grief, rage & bitterness, betrayal & hate and so much more throughout!! After the ending she left us in with the 1st book, I'm glad to say she picked it right back up in book 2. The book is so well written, it pulls you right in and you feel like your right there. From the minute you start you won't want to put this down, nonstop action and the twists she throws your way, you won't know where this road is taking you. I can't say more without ruining it, trust me, go in blind you won't regret it. And Hatch! The cuteness and sweetness of this book!

What a conclusion! This was exactly what I needed from Naomi, Axton, Caden, Dani and the crew. We get a beautiful HEA, but not before S.M. Shade puts us through an emotional tailspin. This book was a heart-wrenching journey in so many ways, the HEA is hard-fought and well-earned, and the outcome is perfect for these characters. I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to this tragically beautiful duet. If you haven't read Rock Star, Interrupted (Tragic Duet #1), then stop here! The rest of What a conclusion! The rest of this review will contain spoilers of book one. Rock Star, Unbroken picks up right where Rock Star, Interrupted leaves off: with an Amber Alert out for baby Caden and Naomi in handcuffs. As to be expected, Axton is FURIOUS. It was a struggle for him to let his guard down with Naomi, and just when he lets himself fall for her, tragedy strikes and all his old fears coming roaring back with a vengeance. He's terrified for the life of his son, and he feels betrayed by the woman he was starting to love. IT IS GUT WRENCHING. The terror, betrayal, and hatred Axton feels emanates from the page, and several times I felt myself wincing through my tears. When Naomi cried, I cried. When Axton fumed and yelled and spit venom, I cried harder. We got a taste of his cruelty in book one, and it comes back in full force in book two. My heart broke for these characters, and when secrets were revealed and histories were discovered, I shattered for them. So many obstacles, both internal and external, were keeping them from happiness, and all I could do was root silently as I devoured every word. But the sadness doesn't last forever, nor is it all-encompassing. Hope for their HEA is introduced early, and as a reader I clung to it desperately through all the twists and turns. SM Shade knows how to turn up the heat and the heart, and she does so simultaneously with Ax and Nay in book two. When Axton and Naomi find their way back to each other, in spite of outside odds and internal insecurities, it's steamy, passionate and emotionally raw. It was so good. At one point, I will admit, I almost felt disappointed, because I couldn't understand the point behind one of the bigger conflicts. At first, I was worried it was going to be over-the-top drama for drama's sake, but I didn't understand the author's vision until it was revealed, and after that everything made sense. I realize that's extremely vague, but I refuse to give plot spoilers, and this was a BIG plot twist! Just trust me when I say it all makes sense in the end. I also really appreciated how the ending was realistic, and how one of the difficult topics wasn't glossed over with a fictional fix. Again, vague-city, I know. But when you read it, you'll know. I felt A LOT for Axton and Naomi, and their story is so tragic and beautiful. I truly, truly loved this duet. The ending was perfect and realistic in the most heart-warming of ways, and I give it five stars and a high recommendation.

Shade has outdone herself with the conclusion of Naomi & Axton’s story!! There is the perfect blend of angst, alphahole moments, light hearted sweet moments and OMG did I just read that right??? So many times I read a book with a major life changing event and the author misses the perfect opportunity to write the characters’ fallout & emotional gold. Not Shade, she beautifully details the struggles each character faces in the after math. Talk about the feels. She is so AMAZING with baby Caden and she has a forgiving heart when needed, without being a doormat. Go girl. (Fist bump) Axton is still a bit of a turd in this book but truthfully what else would you expect. He is a rockstar that has issues from his horrible childhood. He is his own worst enemy for a good portion of this book. His redemption, he is such a good dad. (Sigh)This read gives us moments when the band gets together and it compliments the story so. They are so funny and delicious as a whole. (WINK) Yes I might have some rockstar fantasies, don’t judge me. (Haha)Plan for a twist like no other. Whoa.. This book is one emotional roller coaster ride. Picking up right where book one left off, poor Caden is missing and Axton is frantic while the FBI searched for who abducted his son, all the while hoping and praying he's safe. All while this is going on, Axton has no idea what to make of Naomi. He knows either way that she lied to both him and Dani, that she betrayed her trust, but to what extent? All while this is going on, Axton has no idea what to make of Naomi. He knows either way that she lied to both him and Dani, that she betrayed her trust, but to what extent? The feelings that just pour off this man, the fear and desperation, the heartbreak he's trying to hide and ignore, and the anger that he let someone in only to be played for a fool. That's a lot thrown out at as at once, but for once, I was on team Axton (for a bit.) As a parent, when something happens to your child you immediately go on alert and anyone you think is involved in harming the one you love, you're going to make assumptions and rash decisions, all in the hopes that your child will be ok. I loved that Axton finally embraced being a real father, even at the worst of times. However, the way he treated Naomi . . I still hated. He has to have known that she would have never hurt Caden, no matter what lies she told them. Plus she didn't lie with malice or undue harm, she just genuinely wanted to know and love the only family member she had left. Our poor Naomi is put through the ringer: Not only is she scared for Caden, the police are convinced that she had something to do with his abduction. Plus when Axton turns on her and she realized that she's lost the love he'd just begun to show her, she's devastated all over again. The author did a wonderful job delivering all the emotions that Naomi was feeling: the pain, isolation, safe hatred, loneliness, missing Caden.. it was like I was right there in the story watching all of her emotions and inner thoughts play out. My heart just completely shattered for her. When Axton finally realizes and accepts that Caden needs Naomi, he begrudgingly moves her back into the house, and while she opened up and told Axton why she lied, that she wasn't trying to hurt them in any way, all she wanted was to be close to Caden.. Axton still spews such vile her way. Which made me want to dick punch the dude. I got why he felt betrayed, and she definitely didn't lie, but like Dani pointed out, she did it out of a place of love.. And sometimes love makes us do things we wouldn't normally do.I was beyond hoping that Axton would finally get his crap together before he finally pushed away Naomi for good. I hated that he would get closer to her, get her hopes up, just to push her away all over again. There's another twist in this book that I honestly didn't see coming, and GOOD LORD, it was AMAZING. This author is truly amazing at coming up with all the twists, turns ans supeised in her books and this one was no exception! This is definitely my favorite book in the duet! Caden stole my heart, I absolutely adored Naomi, and Axton definitely won me over not the end.Now we just need more of Dani and Jude!!!😍😍**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Killed me to have to wait for the rest but anyone that starts reading it now will not have the same problem with waiting, stress or worry because you can binge the entire duet right now..lucky you! It's a realllly great read. I was sucked right back into the story, how could I not be? Axton was hard to resist, even if he was an alpha hole (which I personally love) in the beginning of Interrupted, he certainly redeemed himself, learning to love his son, beginning to have feelings for sweet Naomi and then that big stunner...What the what??? Yes, things aren't looking good at all as we step back into this world where Naomi is accused of something so hard to wrap your head around and Axton doesn't want anything to do with her or hear anything she has to say in her own defense. You almost can't blame him for it when you find out what it is, but wow Axton. She wouldn't be involved in any of this, would she? Things look really, really bad right now and there is angsty drama is in every page you turn. Some of it was hard to 'watch' but even teary eyed, I hoped for the best. I had lumps in my throat many times along with those tears but that just shows what a great story S.M. Shade wrote to make me feel all these emotions.I'm not into giving away too many details and risk ruining the bigtime suspense that is filling these chapters for new readers. Everyone is affected in some way or another by these awful events- hurt, sorrow and pain take center stage and even when you think things might take a better turn, some new twist will come out of nowhere to slap you down a peg and keep you wondering if a happy ending is in the cards.I would classify this rock and roll rollercoaster of a story tbis way- 1st of all, unputdownable for sure, suspenseful with a dash of twisty thriller mixed in, a heartstring puller, sweet, sexy character driven and so up my alley that it will be a very long time before this story leaves my brain...I thinks it's permanently imprinted there now! Vividly painted writing takes you right into the story and keeps you there, laughing at little Caden, worrying for Naomi, ready to almost kick some rockstar ass and then...well...if you just love an exciting book with some major feels mixed in, don't wait- grab both of these books and get settled in for an emotional story that you will hopefully love as much as I did today.

The boy who is also her nephew and the boy she nannied for. But she is innocent and some shady elements of her past did this. She may be proven innocent later but this completely destroys the trust between her and Axton. Axton is angry, hurt and completely shocked over this apparent betrayal by Naomi. And more so because he has feelings for her and his past traumatic experiences are bringing back demons he cannot handle. But Caden needs Naomi after all the chaos. And so does he. Can they move beyond the obstacle? What is waiting for them next?I love Naomi. I love Axton. I love their twisted, tragic, soul deep and all consuming chemistry. I broke down so many times while reading this story. My heart was breaking so badly from Axton's agony and pain. He has so much to suffer and those are not easy things at all. He is the epitome of brooding, angst filled and intriguing musician. Naomi is a source of light, peace and support in his whirlwind rockstar life. This woman is simply incredible. She has so much strength in her sweet and compassionate heart. She stood by Axton through heaven and hell. And I was dying from all the swoony feelings while reading about their shared love for Caden! The chemistry is a slowly building fire that turned into a raging inferno even after them denying it too much. The twists and turns kept me glued to the pages like my life depends on it! I knew there was no way she would have been involved in what went down but she needed to go somewhere to find herself again and I love where she went and why. I was so mad at Axton through a bunch of this book for how he treated Naomi. I realize that she kept a really big secret from him and that would have been devastating to find out but he was just so cruel and wanted to keep on hurting her. Even after knowing the truth he still continued to berate Naomi and keep her at a distance.I was very proud of Axton for doing what was best for Caden, even if it wasn't what he wanted. I knew things would gradually thaw between them but I didn't know how much back and forth there would be that involved everyone's emotions. I was not disappointed at all with this as the two were so hot together yet Axton was also so cold after realizing what he had done.I was so mad at Paige for her actions with talking to the press and I was definitely worried how that would affect Naomi and all of the progress she made. It was interesting how Axton chose to believe some of the press at the end of the first book yet in this book he finally said for Naomi to ignore the press when it came to her life. There was a super important conversation between Axton and Naomi regarding each of their pasts and how shockingly similar they were and the differences between the way each looked at it. I loved this scene and it brought tears to my eyes. The events at White Sky Resort were huge and I was shocked at what happened and everything that was revealed. I was definitely holding my breath although I knew things had to change! The very end was incredible and my heart was so filled with happiness!!!This was such an incredible duet and I can't wait for more from this author!!!

When the unthinkable happens, Axton's world is once again turned on its head. Only now he's got someone to blame, and she's the woman he was starting to care for. Will Naomi and Axton ever be able to mend their relationship, or will she be just another reason Axton doesn't feel he's able to love or be loved? I will say this conclusion was pretty intense, and I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't really enjoy it like I did the first part of the duet. Axton is, and I hate to say it because I know he is a damaged man from his past, but he is a complete and total asshole for about 90% of Rock Star, Unbroken. I know what Naomi did was wrong, but Axton took his anger and rage way too far, and the words he hurled at her were inexcusable. So he's the main reason for the 3.5 rather than 4 stars I could have given this.ARC via Wildfire Marketing Solutions for an honest review.Review & Release Blast: Live Through Books Blog. I had so many questions and now the time is finally here to get my answers. I would like to stress before reading this review to make sure you've read the first book as I don't want to give it all away and spoil the storyline for you.Axton is beside himself with a range of emotions he can't control. Anger, hurt, distraught and fear. It's all in him, swirling inside him like a volcano about to erupt. Most of that anger is channelled towards Naomi.Finding out that she and Hatch were related forces him ask the question; was any of it real? Was it just her way to insinuate herself into their lives, to grab him and run away with him.Naomi can't believe that Axton has turned on her this way. She loves him and she knows he loves her, too. He won't talk to her or see her, leaving her despondent and frantic. The question everyone is asking is who has Hatch? Joining the agency to become a nanny wasn't a coincidence. With the help of her friend, Naomi was able to secure a job with Hatch who just happened to be related to her. See, I'm trying really hard not to give too much away here! But that’s a big clue. Haha! There is so much more to this story. It comes with a few twists that I didn't see coming, but it makes for an interesting read. It's well written and the plot is so good that it keeps your interest throughout the book. This was a new author for me and I really enjoyed her work.I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. Congratulations to the author, and I look forward to reading more of your work.

What can I say, this book was amazing. This is book two in the Rock Star duet series. I absolutely loved everything about it. I was scared to go into it because of the last cliffhanger, but it did not disappoint. The first few chapters my heart was being tugged at in every direction. For Naomi who’s life was being turned upside down, BUT I needed answers too. Then Axton was all over the place with hatred and emotions. I just wanted to hug him. For Naomi who’s life was being turned upside down, BUT I needed answers too. Then Axton was all over the place with hatred and emotions. I just wanted to hug him. When he sees Caden again for the first time I cried with him. Omg that scene. I especially felt so much for Caden. Where he was trying so hard to find Naomi. His tantrums and crying fits my heart felt every single one. I just wanted to hold him. When they slowly start to come back as a family I was at the edge of my seat. I just wanted them to be happy. That plot twist messed me up. Who would have known. Seriously. There was moments where I wanted to smack Axton, but I totally understood where his mistrust was coming from. Also, seeing him transform into this amazing dad for Caden was the most beautiful thing to watch unfold. The fear you see that he has of failing him, but he literally does everything to make sure he’s happy and loved. Caden is the most precious baby character I’ve ever read. He literally melts my heart. This stage age is so enduring to watch. When he talks more and is curious about things. I feel like the author did an amazing job portraying the characteristics of a baby at this age. The ending was bitter sweet. Bitter because it’s the end and I love this story so much that I didn’t want it to be the end. Sweet because it was beautiful. That ending couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend this duet. It’s amazing and you know me and baby tropes. They’re my thing. Trust me when I say that this book is filled with every emotion out there and it won’t disappoint. *I received an ARC for an honest review*

This second book in the Tragic duet had my heart firmly in my mouth from the very beginning as the story continued from where Rock Star, Interrupted ended. I was desperate to see what was going to happen next and S.M. Shade did not disappoint at all. I adore Axton and Naomi, now more so than ever. The chemistry between them never diminished even when circumstances made them both question if any sort of relationship between them was possible. I could see and understand the difficulties that they had with regards to acknowledging their feelings and trying to work through them. Forgiveness, trust and love are all very important and if one of them is questioned then in my opinion I think any friendship/relationship will struggle and I hoped that the couple could work through their doubts and the situation they found themselves in, because it wasn’t only the couple that were suffering. This story is tragic and beautiful and is filled with lots of emotion. Once you start reading you will not want to put either book down. This incredible duet is up there with my favourite reads and I can't wait for more from this author! I award it five stars and a high recommendation for you to read because I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I am not much of a contemporary reader, but when S. M. Releases new books- I’m never disappointed. When starting this duet, I didn’t know what to think. A baby, a nanny and a sexy rock star... I know you’re thinking it sounds so unoriginal but it’s anything but! By the end of the first book I was cursing the gods and S. M. That she left me hanging like that! So of course, I wanted to pace myself and enjoy the conclusion when I got it. That didn’t happen. I ate through that book. The plot I am not much of a contemporary reader, but when S. M. I seriously think this may be my new favorite contemporary series that I’ve read to date. The growth of the characters, the confessions, the cutest little freaking baby ever as well as darkness.. what more could you want? I didn’t know how S. M. Would mend the relationship between Axton and Naomi, and to be honest, my heart was racing and my eyes were leaking for the majority of this roller coaster ride. Maybe it’s the fact that I have a toddler but most likely it’s the fact that S. M. Shade writes such realistic characters with real, tangible and complex emotions that I ended up literally sobbing at the loss of little Hatch, Axton and Naomi. How utterly heart wrenching the emotion displayed from the youngest character was- how lost and real it would feel to be a parent in that situation. I loved this book. Rock Star, Unbroken is a 5 star and in my reread pile for anytime I need that laugh in my gut, or tears in my eyes.

I have been anxiously awaiting the sequel to Rock Star Interrupted so I was thrilled to get an ARC for it. Usually sequels are a bit of a let down, but after the mind blowing cliffhanger of the first book it is definitely not the case here. At the beginning of Unbroken you are left trying to pick up the pieces and figure out who the heck could have done it? The last thing you expect is what Ms Shade gives us, certainly not expecting that one! As Axton is frantically looking for his son Naomi is arrested and the secrets that she has kept hidden from him are revealed and the trust between them seems to be irrevocably broken. What a heartbreaker! Naomi goes into hiding to escape the paparazzi and decide what she is going to do with her life. Axton is too angry to think straight until his son's pain finally makes him see sense and he goes after her. A truce is called for his son's sake and Naomi goes back to being Caden's nanny, but can her relationship with Axton beyond repair?Yeah this one was a shocker! but so well done, lots of anguish and pain but you will be rooting for a happy ending for these two.

The perfect ending to a truly heartbreaking duet. I'm sure if you're reading this review then you don't need me to explain the story so I will focus on what really stood out for me in this book. Axton has tough decisions to make in the book and each decision he made shows his amazing development as a character. Every decision is made with his son at the front of his mind despite his feelings saying otherwise which showed how much he had matured and developed emotionally. This plot was so unexpected for me and there were twists and turns that had me gasping at every page after I stupidly thought I had uncovered the truth but SMS does an amazing job of surprising you without making it super unrealistic. I loved reading this book and thought it was the perfect ending so if you haven't already done so I would suggest picking up this duet and giving it a go.

This book picked up where the first one left off and the first one definitely left me with heart palpitations and wondering holy crap did that just happen, so to say I was beyond excited to read this is a big understatement. Axton is beyond mad at Naomi and the situation they are in, but he more concerned about finding and getting his son back. Naomi finds herself in an awful predicament and we know she isn’t guilty but because she wasn’t 100% honest with Axton things don’t look good for her. The author really took Naomi’s pain and made so tangible that I was hurting along with her wishing and praying she found a way out of this and get her man back. Without giving too much away Naomi and Axton find themselves in a situation that leaves them in the realm of I love you but hate you and tormenting you gives me some joy, until Axton realizes Naomi’s suffering too and that doesn’t bring him as much joy as he thought it would. There were so many twists and turns I wasn’t sure how it would all play out and if Ax and Naomi could find their happiness again and this torture was hard but made the book beyond amazing.

The time has come, Shade’s back with this, the epic conclusion to Naomi and Axton’s story, and what a story it was. This story starts up where Book 1 left off, and as such, I'm not going to describe things since some how haven't started the Duet. OMG the secrets aren't making friends, nope, they're straight up coming off a big time betrayal, and our alphahole hero, Axton, is a complete wreck. He doesn't know which way is up, as he's convinced the betrayal from Naomi can't be fixed. It was seriously hard to breathe with all of this going on, and while I had to take small breaks (and I do mean small since I HAD to know) from the physical emotions that I was experiencing at a very rapid pace, the twists also had me all kinds of crazy. They were so intense after dropping down on me that my f-bombs had a good time following them up. This Duet has been NEXT LEVEL amazing, so hit that one click button to find out how it all ends! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
