Edward is a software developer and a ‘spiritual aspirant:’ his personal experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, meditation and prayer form the foundation for this book. The sensitivity of this guide is evident in Edward’s Introductory comments – ‘The guide explains how to become aware of repetitive thoughts and actions that keep us stuck, let them go, and relax into our lives. We will learn a process that is effective in solving all of our mind’s problems. If we can grasp a simple yet very true concept that we create our problems in life. That we only have a problem if we think we have a problem. Then we will be able to change our entire existence. We can achieve this without trying to rearrange our lives outwardly the way we have always tried, to only later realize we are still not fulfilled. Our reality changes when we change our thoughts about it. Our attitude and actions follow along automatically. Through mindfulness, meditation, and some straight forward actions, we will awaken our spirit…’With this engaging manner Edward guides us through excellent discussions about motivation, consciousness, meditation, overcoming resentful thoughts, trading fear for courage, humility, spiritual awakening using stress-relieving meditation combined with mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy as well as intelligent prayer and affirmations. After explaining the possibilities available to us, Edward ends his book with an outline for a daily spiritual practice – a mediation scenario so well described that it is easy to follow and results in a tranquil state - rich in comfort, a feeling of peace, stress free, and spiritually challenging. As he offers, ‘Practice makes better. Just try it. Practicing this way of life only requires 5 to 10 minutes a day to begin with...Watch how much your life changes…’This is a very well written and sound guide from a man who believes in and lives his practices. There could not be a better time than now to begin his advice. Very highly recommended

This is a practical approach to getting your mind focussed on the truly important things in life, in an easy to understand format and with a very down to earth perspective.First, you teach yourself how to truly listen by stopping that internal critic! Then, you have some mental breathing room to actually figure out what's really important. Take charge of your own attitude and outlook by putting into practice the principles given here, and I have no doubt that you'll quickly find your whole life will begin to change. This is a great roadmap for those who are interested in becoming that best version of themselves, and are willing to put in the effort to make a real change in their own lives. If that sounds like you, you should definitely read this book! It'll give you clearly defined steps to take, and you'll be able to see results and compare your old outlook to the new one.My favorite chapters were "Replace Fear with Courage" , followed by " Gratitude and the Joy of Living". These especially have useful exercises in making real and lasting changes to how we perceive the world around us and our place in it.Looking to make the world a better place today? Tomorrow, too?Get this, read it and do the exercises. Change is within your reach!Warning, though- if you're grammar and spelling "Nazi" ( as I have been called), beware! There are typos that a good editor would have caught. That's the ONLY bad thing I can say!

Through inner reflection, meditation and self-awareness of both your thoughts and your emotions, the author seeks to help you rework how you approach your daily life. By rethinking your approaches and your reactions, you should be able to use a more positive approach. I liked that the author gave us some tips on how to get through meditation, or even the chapter of humility. I think we all need a reminder that it is ok to say: “I don’t got this, and I need help.” Even though this is a short book, I think the author did a great job in giving us the information that is important. Short, sweet and to the point. There are some good reminders in here and its easy to read.
