Ben Fitts's debut shows him as a talent to be watched. In My Birth and Other Regrets, he combines the humorous, the horrifying, the eccentric, and the absurd to create to an excellent, unpredictable collection. Just when you think you have him pegged as a writer of quirky and surreal stories, he throws in a deeply disturbing horror tale. His abilities as a storyteller cover a wide variety of genres and masterfully mixes them. This is a book you won't regret picking up.
