I loved this series, but over the last few books the story line has become rushed. I was hoping that it would end with the main characters winning the Blue, and finding themselves. Instead we got a rushed, and half finished ending. Ugg so frustrating.

Tries to pull up after a nose dive...and nearly does it but not quite.World: The art is okay, it's been solid the rest of the series. The world building is finally a bit better. This one focuses on cooking and styles of cooking, which was lost since book 30. The pieces we see here are good because it calls back the cast of characters that we have come to love. It tries a lot to correct the world from the idiotic mistake since the Central arc. Story: The emotions were earned this time around and that was great. The cooking finally returns in the series and it's detailed and it makes sense and it's real, that was missing for a while and it being back reminded me of why I liked the series so much. The second thing that came back was the emotional core of the story, with Soma and his mother and Erina with hers. We've been having huge problems with the series and this book does try so so hard to correct the mistakes of the last couple of books. There is the answer of why Hayama was not there and we see Joichirou and the people of Totsuki, we see friends which were suppose to be here all along and we get rid of the stupid character that is Asahi. It is not a perfect ending, but given how far this story fell it's a miracle we ended up where we ended.Characters: The story gives readers what they want, the characters they've come to love. It's a little too late but at least we see them. The Soma and Mum and Dad story is great and I wish there was more instead of a tossaway but at leaste we got it. The stuff with all the friends is not really taken care of but at least they are there. I wish the time jump didn't really happen cause if there is a sequel we can do more of year two and three. Overall it's better than expected but that's not saying much.It tried to save itself and while some things did end well that disgusting taste of book 30 to 35 was too strong to forget.Onward to the next book!

What a unsatisfying ending. That was very unsatisfying and really rushed. Honestly I felt they should’ve ended the series at the defeat of Erina’s father, and then some images, (though we would’ve left out souma smother) which was a good ending point and could preserve the excitement. Also I literally thought that was the end as well, after then learning it wasn’t, then I felt confused. After that point a lot of the cooking amounted to bullshit logic that a certain tool would have better effects What a unsatisfying ending. That was very unsatisfying and really rushed. After that point a lot of the cooking amounted to bullshit logic that a certain tool would have better effects, taste and so and so. But that’s not to say that I really loved this series at the start and it was one of my favorites, but the ending is really disappointing. I almost wished that I hadn’t continued after the Father arc. Why I said I almost wished, I did like the bit about somas mother and Asahi’s and joichirous resolution and the morals towards the end. But it was still an unsatisfying, rushed ending. I just don’t think the blue arc was very good.

Has a cliffhanger of an ending (but the real ending can be found in a series of "epilogue" chapters). The story finally stops its rollercoaster of a pace and goes back to its roots of an actual cooking contest. So we at least got a glimpse of what made it really awesome before the curtains came down.

Ma gad was that ending was unsatisfying. So was the plot since the final fights began. It's disappointing that the author spent six years creating and moulding these characters and then having the ending read like the author was completely at loss at how he wanted the manga to end. Hell! With this kind of ending, I wouldn't mind waiting another year for a better ending.

Finally it endsssss. I like reading Shokugeki no Shoma, but this ending is seriously hanging. I need a more definitive ending. I am satisfied, thank you Tsukuda Yuto-sensei.
