He needs her, he wants her, and what Bran wants…he gets.As the threats keep mounting, as the stalker closes in, will Bran be able to forgive Julia when he learns the truth? He was nothing like she expected… But he might be what she needed. Rock Star; Bran Copper has taken refuge in his remote cabin in the town of Hideaway a stalker has been targeting him for a while now and keeps getting closer and closer with dangerous consequences. In an effort to draw them out he makes himself readily available by being in an easily accessible location with few people around. A plan his manager is definitely not on-board with, so-much-so he goes to Wilde Securities and arranges for a team to covertly have him protected, including Julia in the role of PA."Do you have secrets..?""…Everyone has secrets."I really enjoyed this one, you know its going to be a bumpy ride with one of Cynthia’s titles, and the twists and turns were plentiful. The ‘insta’ between Bran and Julia was cute, and I loved the fact he went all alpha on her even when she was quite capable of protecting herself, and while she was supposed to be covertly looking out for him as well."I said… I wouldn’t sleep with you… I lied"I knocked half a star off, because I had an idea early on who the villain of the piece might be and was proved correct in the end, something which rarely happens when I read this authors work. That-said I enjoyed the story between this pair immensely, both of them were working through their own demons, the sexy-times were plentiful and we got to see more of the Wilde Securities team, with Cole and Rick taking centre stage in secondary roles. "I’m going to stand between you and any threat… You understand?"Good to know that there are more books due from the series with Rick up next in Fighting for Her due late August, I hope Cole gets his book after that.ARC generously provided by the author via Netgalley, in exchange for the above honest review.

This is one fun, wild, action filled read that kept me going until I realized I had read the whole thing in one sitting! I absolutely LOVED it all! When rock star, Bran Copper, has a stalker and refuses a security detail, Julia is sent in undercover as his personal assistant. She doesn’t like rock stars, she doesn’t particularly like Bran, and she definitely doesn’t like the way he makes her feel. Her job is to protect him but he’s making it difficult when he keeps trying to protect her.Despite being delicate in stature, Julia was one tough heroine. She was feisty and smart and could totally kick butt. It was fun watching her play shy and demure with Bran, manipulating him into allowing her to stay. What was even more enjoyable was watching her fall for someone she thought was the complete antithesis of who she wanted. ”But…he was like the fire. So hot. Burning bright. Out of control. Dangerous.Gorgeous.Terrifying.” Once more this author gives me the type of hero I adore. Bran was determined that Julia was not going to get hurt and every action he took was a step in trying to ensure that outcome. Fierce, loyal, and possessive, he was the perfect hero and I loved him for his need to protect those around him. ”Baby…” His voice was too much of a growl. Way too rough, but that was how he felt. Far too rough around her. She seemed fragile and too breakable while he was rough and dangerous.” I’m not a huge rock star romance fan. They tend to get into elements I don’t enjoy. That was not the case with this book. Taking place outside a small community in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are never caught up in the rock lifestyle, and for that I am thankful. The way Bran lived his life and his music are certainly a big part of the story but it doesn’t consume it. This story has so much action and drama, it almost felt as though I was watching it on a widescreen. And it would totally translate! The relationship between Bran and Julia was delicious. They both address their feelings in an adult manner, actually communicating. Imagine that! The chemistry between them from the first moment they met was completely believable and the steam was absolutely sizzling. This book starts off with a great pace and only escalates as it progresses. There is never an opportunity for it to bog down as things are constantly moving forward. The secondary characters are phenomenal and I was shocked when the villain was revealed. With a sweet little epilogue to wrap things up, I ended this with a satisfied smile and the knowledge that there would be more Wilde Ways books on the horizon.Dual POVSafe (view spoiler)[no om drama; ow drama due to concern she might be the villain – never comes between the h/H; h not a virgin; while H is rock star and has a certain reputation, I never really felt he was a manwhore (hide spoiler)]Triggers (view spoiler)[H is a recovering alcoholic but it is barely mentioned a few times with a bit of memory of the alcohol days (hide spoiler)]

That’s not exactly a stretch for the tough little Hellion but protecting Bran without him realising what she’s doing now that’s going to prove to be a real challenge !All Bran has is his music as so many around him have betrayed him and destroyed his trust . The one constant thing he cannot abide is lies so it was a brilliant idea of the author to make Julia already culpable by deceiving him as to the real reason she showed up at his door. You will love Julia as she might be petite but she truly packs a punch and anyone getting in her way needs to watch out. There was mystery and subterfuge to work through which kept this an exciting, fast paced read although I did think there were clues along the way. The romance whilst admittedly instantaneous was intense and emotive and worked well in this story. Best of all though were the glimpses of the rest of the members of Wilde Security and I look forward to reading more about them.I’m not particularly a fan of rock star romances but this funnily enough didn’t dwell on that aspect and instead became all about the suspense and the relationship. This voluntary take is of a copy sent to me and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

The H being a rock star doesn't exactly reassure me that the author is moving away from her recent trend of writing manwhore heroes.

Bran and Julia have a connection they seem unable to ignore, with Bran knowing he should fire Julia for her own safety but finding himself insanely drawn to her. I liked the fact that Bran wasn’t depicted as a self-entitled, arrogant douchebag. I did feel that there were things that needed to be delved into, teased out, which weren’t. For example, the subtle undertones when it came to Bran’s manager and his relationship with Bran. This is a Cynthia Eden book so it was overall an enjoyable read, but as I watched the relationship between Julia and Bran develop and the story progress, there was this little niggle in the back of my mind that something was missing, and it didn’t go away. Will I re-read this – maybe - but only because I want to see if my feelings about it will improve with the re-read.

Another great entry in the Wilde series. I liked the fact that in this story, the female is the bodyguard. Bran was still way OTT alpha and his need to protect Julia was awesome. Lots of twists and turns and am anxiously waiting for Rick’s story!

But her boss Eric Wilde of Wilde Security knows she’ll be the best for this job, so he won’t let her turn him down.Bran is hiding in his mountain cabin to write his next album. Bran won’t let his manager hire a bodyguard, so when Julia shows up on his doorstep claiming she’s his new assistant, he’s not exactly thrilled.Julia is good at her job. She looks tiny and delicate, but she can knock a man on his back in no time. Being Bran’s bodyguard isn’t easy, though, since he can’t know that’s what she is. She doesn’t like lying to him, and the closer they get, the more she hates the lies between them. But she doesn’t have a choice. And if he found out she’d lied? He’d kick her out. She’ll have to keep lying to keep him safe.In typical Cynthia Eden fashion, this book is suspenseful and sexy. Her plots are well thought out, and she never takes the predictable route. With excitement and danger waiting on each page, I couldn’t flip pages fast enough!***ARC courtesy of the publisher via Netgalley

Because THE HEART YOU BREAK...it could be the one that matters most.••••••••••••REVIEW: 4.25 stars--THE HEART YOU BREAK is the fourth instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult WILDE WAYS romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Wilde Securities. This is former fire fighter and security agent Julia Slate, and rock star Bran Copper. THE HEART YOU BREAK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.Told from several third person perspectives including Bran and Julia THE HEART YOU BREAK follows Julia Slate as she is assigned protection duty to rock star Bran Copper, a musician whose stalker is getting too close. Bran doesn’t want protection, in fact he is using himself as bait to pull in the person trying to destroy his life but baiting the bad guy affects more than our story line hero. Julia Slate goes undercover as Bran’s assistant, a position that places our heroine up close and personal with rock’s newest bad boy. What ensues is the building relationship between Bran and Julia, and the potential fall-out as everyone working the case at Wilde Securities becomes collateral damage as the stalker is determined to take down our story line hero. The relationship between Julia and Bran is one of immediate attraction but Bran doesn’t want an assistant; doesn’t want security; and definitely doesn’t want another female groupie destroying his life. Julia Slate struggles to keep her under cover assignment on the down low but falling for Bran Copper finds Julia out of her element, and distracted when she is needed the most. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Julia’s fellow security specialists: Cole Vincent, Rick Williams, Eric Wilde, and town sheriff Gideon Warren.THE HEART YOU BREAK is a story of betrayal, deception and vengeance; of struggle and acceptance; of love and a happily ever after. The premise is energetic and engaging; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are colorful, dynamic and strong. I guessed the identity of the stalker early on but the author threw in a secondary possibility in an effort to deflect attention from the requisite evil.Copy supplied by Netgalleywww.thereadingcafe.com

First of all, I like the different roles that the characters have been in during the entire Wilde Security Series. Also I loved that she looked fragile which only caused others to underestimate her true abilities. She is tough!I am not much for rocker stories but this one was a hit with me. Perhaps it is because it takes place at a cabin where Bran Copper has gone to write new material. It is not so much about the outlandish lifestyle of the famous. His struggle with certain aspects does come up, showing that he continues to work to overcome some of the vices that can easily happen. Most of the focus is on the attraction between Julia and Bran, while she is working undercover to protect him. I couldn’t help but laugh when he tries to protect her. The story starts out at a fast pace never slowing down as the danger from the deranged stalker escalates. What a surprised when the identity of the stalker is revealed. Part of the tension in the story is also on what will happen when Bran discovers that Julia is not who she has pretend to be. All is not lost as the conclusion is positively satisfying. 4.5 StarsAn ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really liked seeing a strong, capable women as the hero but don't be fooled folks because Bran is not a wilting flower. He is as equally capable, ALL alpha and deliciously male too boot. His need to protect Julia is just as strong and I loved the banter and chemistry that is crazy strong between them. The sex sizzled and the story was explosive and 100% exciting. I LOVED every scorching moment of it!The Heart You Break gets a STUPENDOUS FIVE HEART THUMPING STARS!

4.25⭐The Heart You Break the fourth book in Cynthia Eden's Wilde Ways series was a great read. That certainly captured my attention from the very beginning, with an intriguing character in rock star Bran and likable security agent Julia. Who has many secrets including the reason why she has suddenly appeared on Bran's doorstep, and I liked the instant connection between the pair. Not to mention I loved the action this story had and the suspense, which again kept me guessing until the very end. What a fantastic book! Loved staying on edge, I was shocked by who the stalker was. Bran really fights having a bodyguard, he doesn’t want anyone harmed due to his stalker. Julia was hired to be his assistant and he really tried getting rid of her, but finds himself falling for her. Loved how his music even changes due to being with her. My heart broke for them, what will happen when he finds out what her job really is? Can she protect him? Really loved the ending, we definitely get a very happy What a fantastic book! OMG!! A hot headed stubborn man wants 2 do stupid things like put himself as bait instead of having others hurt but all it does it back firers. He gets blamed 4 his past that he didn't even know about. People need 2 grow up and stop trying 2 b a matar and b the " hero" when they try 2 blame others on why they aren't thinking clearer instead of others trying 2 destroy others on what they r only working on half of the story from others, etc. It's awesome!! I can't wait 4 more asap!!

June 25, 2019Format: Kindle EditionJulia works for Wilde Security. She has always given everything that she has to safeguard her clients. At first she balks at the idea of guarding a playboy singer. Keeping Bran safe may cost her more than she thought. This time she may loose her heart. This is a fast-paced suspenseful read. It has action, suspense, danger and great characters. I can't wait to read Rick's story.

Bran can only handle so much, “go to your room, Julia.” A growl. “Shut your door. Lock it. And effing consider wearing more clothes.” Bran tends to have a one track mind, "his hand fisted around the panties. He looked at her. The short skirt. The tight top. The heels. “You don’t have on underwear.” I liked this book, I loved Bran.

This book has everything I love in a book. Romance, suspense, action, a perfect heroine and a perfect hero. The hero is an alpha, possessive and protective. I love me those type of heroes. I can’t wait to continue reading more of this series.••Arc provided by the author and Netgalley in exchange for a honest review. All thoughts are my own••

Who doesn’t love a bad boy rockstar? I loved The Heart You Break. Bran and Julia were perfect for each other, and I really loved their story. I seriously couldn’t put it down. The romance was amazing, the suspense was amazing. Cynthia Eden knocked another out of the park!
