I can’t quite remember who recommended the first book in this series (The Bombshell Effect) to me, but I want to thank them, because without them I wouldn’t have been blessed with Karla’s magical ability to make me feel all the feelings while reading a flipping sports romance. I loved the twins and their antics, Isabel and Molly. I am super stoked about the spin off series, so exciting!Loved this story completely. It was sweet, funny, HOT, and great seeing strong Paige and being such a fantastic role model to Logan’s sisters. And Logan, he was soooo easy to fall in love with!!!

He is selfless and loyal and protects those he loves. His heart is protected though. He takes nothing for himself and takes care of his 4 stepsisters! And those girls really do love him!A book like this goes to an overall top read for 2019 and YES- top OVERALL FAVORITE BOOK- bc it makes me want to love those people in my life even more. Battle for my friends and family no matter what. Even in the day to day stuff. Thank you Karla for this wonderful life reminder!!!PS. The sparks and chemistry and banter between Paige and Logan is so so good!!!!!

The one who flusters the hero simply by being herself? The type of heroine who causes the hero to stretch himself beyond his comfort zone, but who burns his soul with his attraction to her? Then, you must read Karla Sorensen’s The Marriage Effect. This book seems like an “opposites attract” story. However, the more you read Logan and Paige, the more you realize they are more alike than different. Sorensen’s genius with this story is the way in which she makes us initially think they are more different than alike, but we quickly come to realize they are one in the same person. They simply handle their emotions in different ways. The story follows Logan, a veteran safety for the Washington Wolverines, and Paige, the best friend of the owner of the Wolverines and former super-model. In many ways, Paige is a bit of a cheerleader of sorts as she is a constant fixture with the Wolverines organization, although she has no distinct title. One night, Logan finds his family in a precarious situation, and his best option is marriage. Like Logan, Paige has found herself with the problem of needing to be married to inherit her great-aunt’s money. In one moment, they decide to marry each other in order to resolve their problems. While seemingly different in personality, from the outset, Paige and Logan are physically drawn to each other. Unfortunately, acting on the attraction, even as a married couple, may problematize their relationship, as it is meant to be temporary, not permanent. As the days and weeks pass, Paige grows closer to Logan’s nieces, of whom he is a guardian, and the lines become blurry between the two. Will Logan and Paige find a happily-ever-after, or will they walk away from each other at the end of their commitment? The Marriage Effect is the third book in Sorensen’s Washington Wolverines series (I believe it is the final one for this series), and it is my favorite for several reasons:Logan and Paige’s Chemistry. These two seem so very, very different, yet they are like two magnets attracting each other. I’ll be honest. There were many times when I wanted to reach into my book and smack Logan upside the head. Yes. Paige has a tendency to act first, think later; it’s her natural disposition. Given this, it makes sense that Logan, who carefully plots his life due to his guardianship of his nieces, would make the mature decision to avoid a physical relationship with Paige. He worries that it will complicate everything. However, this man takes control too far. There were times when my heart hurt for Paige as he avoided her in order to protect himself. This is the first way in which Paige and Logan, while seemingly different, were very much alike. When confronted with feelings of any kind, they avoid them by either running or staying away. Sorensen shows us how people can carry the same fear and passion, but handle them in a different manner. I was thankful when Logan finally acknowledged his deep attraction to Paige, as Sorensen built this tension which almost overflows the story. Paige. In the first two books of this series, Paige, while the “crazy one,” is the voice of reason with both Allie and Ava. She speaks the words they need to hear. This same voice finds its way into the lives of Logan’s nieces, Molly, Lia, Claire, and Isabel. In fact, the most poignant moment in the story involves Lia, Logan’s emotionally stoic niece. It was powerful in that it shows Paige’s strength at reaching into people’s souls. Sorensen shows us through Paige that our inner strength can be different than our outer reactions. And I loved her for that. Paige is also the comic relief of this story, along with her friend Allie. Every time there is a potentially serious story moment, Sorensen puts words in Paige’s mouth to alleviate the tension of the story. Even more, she continues to be the voice of reason much as she was in Allie and Ava’s stories.Logan. I think one of my favorite revelations of Sorensen’s book is the fact that Logan is a safety. It’s a position of defense on the field, and its name best describes Logan. He is THE safest character of this book. He is dependable, thoughtful, caring, stoic, and carries an internal strength that people rely on. That Sorensen would give the safest person in the book this position on the field reads like a metaphor for his life. His quiet, unassuming spirit is a reminder to us all that we can make grand gestures quietly without the fanfare, and there is a beauty in it. “I was me with her. The unfiltered me.”Sorensen’s Style. If you have never read one of Karla Sorensen’s books, then you have missed out. There is an ease to her storytelling. I read this book in one day because (1) the story is engaging, (2) the characters developed beautifully over the pages, and (3) her words flow onto the page. You find yourself wrapped in her images and details and characters that you don’t want to put the book down. At least, that is the case for me. I often say about myself, as a reader, that I gobble/eat books with relish. Sorensen makes gobbling her stories easy. They pull me in and keep me there, making me grieve when her books end. If, after reading this review, you do not realize how much I loved this book, then you missed it. I am sad that The Marriage Effect is the last of the Washington Wolverines stories. Maybe Karla Sorensen will change her mind in the future. However, she has promised a new series, one I am incredibly excited about. If they become what I imagine them to be, then this reader will be reading Sorensen stories well into the future.“And if she walked away at the end of this, when her role in our life was fulfilled, I’d never be able to forget it. It was the knowledge that I’d crave this feeling until the day I died. Crave her. There might be a hundred women who could manage in our life. But she was the one who fit us perfectly.”In love and romance, Professor A

I was hesitant to start this one. A lot of times when I see a book getting so much love online it feels like I don't enjoy it as much as everyone else did, but that was definitely not the case with this one. I loved it! This was my first book by Karla Sorensen, and I didn't realize that it was part of a series until I had already started it. It's not your typical series though, these do not have to be read in order, but it helps you get to know the characters better. I definitely plan to go back I was hesitant to start this one. Legal counsel says there's only one thing Logan can do- find himself a wife. Paige McKinney doesn't always think things through. Like walking away from her modeling career without a thought of what might come next. She really doesn't think it through when she proclaims herself Logan's fiancé at the hospital, simply because the sexy- albeit grumpy- football player forgot his cell phone at a party and security won't let her pass. But the simple solution creates a whole new problem: they're not as different as they see. The reluctant groom as a fire inside him, and his impetuous bride is about to light the match."Paige has found herself in an impossible situation, and unbeknownst to her Logan has also found himself in a similar situation. Fate finds the two of them together, with the perfect plan, a marriage of convivence. I always find these stories so entertaining. I love it when people don't know each other, find themselves married, and then have to get to know each other. These two were perfect, their opposite personalities actually made them mesh even better together. While Paige was more laid back, sassy, and spoke without thinking, Logan was the complete opposite. He was brooding, serious, and a planner. "I swear, if you don't kiss me, I will die," she pleaded, settling her fingers on my skin in curved claws. I swallowed roughly and laid my forehead against hers. "Don't be so dramatic." I flipping loved Paige. She was so over the top. She was sassy, she had the tendency to blurt things out without thinking, and she was such a horndog when it came to Logan it was pretty hilarious. She pulled out all the stops trying to get him to make a move, and he wouldn't budge. I also loved her relationship with his sisters. She took to them very easily, and you could just see how much she loved them. She really worked hard to maintain a relationship with them, and build trust. "Whatever fire burned inside her, I had it in me too. I'd just never met anyone who made me want to let the flames consume me. Who made me want to see how hot they could burn, what heights they could reach, what we could reach together." Logan, oh he was the best. I say it every time, and I'll say it again. This is my FAVORITE kind of book boyfriend. The kind that is moody, serious, and have a bit of a temper. I also like when they are misunderstood, like the world sees them one way, but you as the reader get to see them in a completely different way. The way he was at home with Paige, and the girls, was completely different then they was he was at the stadium with the other guys on the team. A slow burn romance is sometimes so flipping frustrating. I always have a love/hate relationship with them. I'm so aggravated when I'm reading, but I secretly love it. This was definitely a slow burn. I don't know how these two lived together and held off for so long, I felt like Paige, she was so frustrated, but Logan wasn't giving in. It was also kind of hilarious to read how hard she tried to get him to give it up. "If we do this," I told her, "you're mine. Do you understand?" Paige held my eyes with hers, and she nodded. "Yeah." I absolutely adored Logan's sisters. They were so spunky, and had such loud and bright personalities. I just wanted to keep reading more and more about them. It's hard, in a romance book, to make other characters shine so much that you don't mind the break from the romance, but Karla was able to do just that. I was pleasantly surprised when I finished to see that the girls will be getting their own books! I can't wait to read those. Overall, I'm giving this one 5 STARS. I'm glad I read this one, it was light easy read, and the characters were great. Logan was a great book boyfriend, and I enjoyed Paige's sassiness. I think Logan's sisters stole the show for me though, they had some of the best parts of the book. Check out this review and more on my blog!https://njpennybookreviews.blogspot.c...

Bake on your e-reader of choice for a couple hours and devour the tasty treat!I’m sure this is the exact recipe Karla Sorensen followed when writing The Marriage Effect. (And a side note-don’t write reviews when you’re starving). This book the third in Ms. Sorensen’s Washington wolf series. I have not read the previous books in this series, but was able to completely follow this book and enjoy it thoroughly. This is a sport’s romance (which honestly is not usually my favorite), but the focus is not on the sport. There are aspects of the sport discussed and it’s impact on the character’s life, but it is not the main focus of the story. That would be Paige, Logan, and their fake marriage. Paige needs to be married to get her inheritance. Logan needs a wife to keep his brother from getting custody of their four half sisters. And Paige may have accidently introduced herself as Logan’s fiancée to said brother. Once Logan and Paige are married the real emotions start to come out. Paige wants to take advantage of their marriage and indulge in the sexual attraction that is between them. Logan is resistant because he knows Paige will be gone as soon as the timer dings at the end of their time together. He isn’t interested in getting involved only to lose his heart at the end of their time together. This book is not your typical “fake marriage” trope. And it’s not just a romance. This book is about family, love, and acceptance. The author did an amazing job showing the trials and tribulations that a blended family must face. Logan’s sisters have lost their father and their mother just dumped them on his doorstep when she went to “find herself”. They have abandonment issues. Ms. Sorensen does not just gloss over that. Logan’s relationship with the girls plays a significant role in the book and has an impact on his relationship with Paige. Paige’s relationship with the girls is also a focal point of the book. Ms. Sorensen did not just use the sister as a prop or a plot device. They are as much a part of this book as Logan and Paige. She makes the reader feel what these girls are going through and your heart will ache for them. I shed some heavy tears during certain scenes. As a child of divorced parents and other childhood issues I can tell you Ms. Sorensen was spot on in how she described these girls and their reactions. And let’s not forget the sexual tension between Logan and Paige. It jumps of the page and grabs you by the….uh…throat (if you are into that type of thing). Of course Logan can only resist the temptation of Paige for so long, and when he finally does give in? All I can say is have a fan and a tall glass of ice water handy. Maybe a spare pair of panties. There is a HEA with a very cute epilogue. And some interesting news at the end about the characters in this book that I was really happy to see!! Read this book. Even if sport romances aren’t normally your thing, I recommend taking a chance with this book. I’m so glad I did. Now I can go read the other books in the series.

They both found themselves in this situation at the perfect time, so they decided to strike a deal and help each other out. But not every deal works out that way, does it? “Why should this work. Why it might explode in our faces. How we could pull it off...” These two are the definition of loyalty, devotion, pure chemistry, and falling in every sense of the word... Falling in love, falling in lust, and falling for more than just one person. “There was about a hundred women who could manage our life. But she was the one who fit us perfectly.” Sorensen gave us the perfect combination of sweet and swoon-worthy, light drama packed with emotion, witty and funny banter and pranks, and a slow burning simmering heat that burned through the pages when the time was right! I absolutely adored everything about Paige and Logan! “Never in my life did I think it was possible to meet someone who made me feel this way, sexy and powerful and addictive, and who, in his own right, was equally sexy and powerful and addictive.” They brought a realness out of each other that no one could match! She was smart and sassy, brilliant and beautiful, and she brought Logan to his knees! He was a little broody and silent, spoken only when needed, charming in every sense of the word, and showed loyalty and responsibility and the true meaning of fighting for your family. “There was a time in my life when falling in love felt impossible and unattainable, and now I was in love with five people in different ways.” I cannot wait for more of Sorensen’s work because now I’m hooked and completely obsessed! I’m well aware that this is the third book in this series, so I’m going to go devour her back log! Five swoon-worthy and dreamy stars: 💫💫💫💫💫

Sassy, sexy, and oh so sweet! This book is everything I could’ve asked for in the third book in the Washington Wolves series! The Bombshell Effect was my favorite in the series until I read Paige and Logan’s story. The Marriage Effect completely blew any expectations I had of it out of the water! It made me laugh my butt off, bawl my eyes out, and fall in love so damn hard! It made me laugh my butt off, bawl my eyes out, and fall in love so damn hard! When Paige and Logan find themselves in need of a spouse, it only makes sense that they devise a plan to get married and live together for the next two years, right? I don’t think either one quite knew what they were getting into when they said, “I do.” With Logan came a ragtag group of sisters who either fawn over Paige and her model status or are bound and determined to make her life a living hell one toothpaste filled oreo at a time. With Paige came a gorgeous body and caring soul that Logan can’t help but find himself attracted to. They both know their marriage is fake, but the chemistry between the two is far from it. Will they act on their feelings? And what happens when everyone in the Ward household begins to fall for Paige? If you didn’t believe in love before reading this book, you damn sure will now! The love that Logan has for his sisters will melt your heart! To the outside world, he is a complete hardass but when he is with his sisters it’s a completely different story. And when Paige is thrown into the mix and gives everyone a run for their money it is definitely a show! She forms a bond with each of the sisters leaving the stubborn Iz for last. And I’ll tell you when Paige and Iz have their moment you will be pulling out the tissue box because it’s deeper than I ever thought it could be for a fourteen-year-old. And I can’t wait to read more about Isabel’s story in the Ward Sister Series. I needed this book so much and I am so glad it's the last book in the series! Damn, I never thought I’d say that about this series. If you asked me after The Ex Effect if I wanted this series to end anytime soon I would’ve replied with “Hell no,” but this book was such a wholesome, heartwarming end to a super sweet series. And it also helps that Karla promised us a series about the girls. So I’ll be counting down the days until that! This is a great book and series for anyone looking for laughter, love, and lots of sweet moments! Also, does anyone else agree that we should convince Karla to write a story about Amy, the badass boxing coach?

I've been waiting for this book since I read the first two in the series in January and it didn't disappoint! This is the story of Logan and Paige, who are both secondary characters in the previous books.Fake marriage arrangements and single-parent books are some of my favourites, so I loved that this book had both tropes. Logan is a player for the Washington Wolves and has custody of his four younger sisters (ages 12, 12, 14 and 16). His brother is vying for custody of them, and his lawyer suggests that being married may strengthen his case. Paige is an ex-model and the best friend of Allie, the owner of the Washington Wolves. She has recently inherited money from a relative, but she is only eligible for the money if she is married. They decide to enter a marriage of convenience, and Paige moves in to care for Logan's sisters. One of the things I loved about this was the characterisation. I loved how both Logan and Paige had clear flaws (Paige with her restlessness and Logan and his reserved nature), but they were also likeable and you never stopped rooting for them. Logan's sisters were great and I liked how they all had distinct personalities, plotlines, and relationships over the course of the book. The chemistry between Logan and Paige was super hot and the buildup was great, I love a slow burn! I also appreciated how this wasn't too heavy on the sport. I know very little about American Football and tend to skip sport heavy scenes, so I was happy there weren't too many of them in this book. This was so nearly a 5 star for me, my only complaint is that I felt like we didn't get enough of the romance once they finally officially got together. I know there was a lot of focus on family/Logan's sisters, which I liked, don't get me wrong, but I wished we got a few more intimate scenes between Logan and Paige. We get a few kisses but only get one sex scene at around 70% (from memory) and other than that, nothing. Overall I really, really enjoyed this, and I was super excited to read that Karla plans for her next series to be about Logan's sisters! I felt like this book was largely a set-up for their storylines, so I'm really excited for Molly's book to release.

4.5/5 stars! This series just keeps getting better and better! A marriage of convenience sports romance with so much depth and emotion. So many obstacles. So much on the line. I absolutely loved the direction the author took this story, diving deep into family dynamics and life beyond the game.I've fallen head over heels for the Washington Wolves men but Logan clawed his way to the top as my favorite! His heart, his quiet demeanor, his dedication to his family and his craft.... all the sexiest attributes of a book boyfriend (or in this case husband)! I don't think there was a single thing I didn't like about the hero in this story. Sure he was flawed and made mistakes, but he always owned up to them, proved he wanted to do better and make the right decisions for others over himself.Paige had me fist pumping with each smart mouth comment she made, each puff of her chest, each confrontation and argument she stood against. She was a feisty siren with a heart of gold. I adored the character that Karla created in Paige and couldn't get enough of her in this read! A strong, independent heroine with the brains to back up the beauty! I loved her willingness to jump off the cliff of life blindly and take a chance with Logan and his family. Despite her ulterior motives, she was in it 100% and gave her all to the Wards. My heart broke for the young women in this book who were enduring the most heartache. Isabel found a spot in my heart and wouldn't leave. I loved how each sister had her own unique personality and quirks and brought something unique to the story. The pranks were EPIC! I can't wait for the next series, featuring these 4 lovely ladies! All in all, this read had everything I love about a sports romance. Just enough of the game to keep it interesting. A slow burn romance. Super hot and sexy bedroom scenes. A supportive family dynamic. Hilarious sub-characters. And a beautiful HEA!I received an ARC of this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

You cannot go wrong with the Washington Wolves Series. It is one of my favorite series for a reason. They storyline is always gripping and the characters are forever memorable. The Marriage Effect was just as amazing as the previous two book.Paige McKinney (Allie’s best friend) is a former supermodel that moved to town to be with her best friend. Paige is not known as one to put down roots. She gets bored and moves on but she gets an awakening when the stipulation in her aunts will is found out. Paige is not known as one to put down roots. She gets bored and moves on but she gets an awakening when the stipulation in her aunts will is found out. She needs a husband stat and who better than Logan Ward. He is the only man in a while that stirs her fantasies and makes her wanton. Logan is also in a bind. He has guardianship over his four younger sisters but that is currently being threatened by his brother and the only way that he can see out of this mess is him acquiring a wife. He needs to show the courts that he can provide stability and the proper guidance. It’s a win win situation with Paige. They both need each other but Logan is wary and doesn’t want to cross that invisible line. He tries to keep Paige at arms length and reiterating the fact that what they have is temporary and he cannot forget that but it becomes unbearable hard (pun intended) when Paige keeps on enticing him and when she smashes her way into his sisters hearts.I always loved Logan. I wanted his book from the first time he was introduced in book one and what better heroine there was for him than the gorgeous feisty model who is also a smidgen crazy. Logan was the perfect man for her. He was quite and broody to her sassy outspoken self. They fit together perfectly. I loved Logan’s relationship with his sisters. He was incredibly sweet and caring which was insanely hot. Now ai understand why Paige constantly wanted to jump him. I did get pissed off with him at one point in the book but I couldn’t stay mad at him for long. I also loved the push and pull of their relationship and the fact that it was a slow build up,I cannot wait for the Ward Sisters. I know the books will be just as amazing.

I’ve wanted and waited for Logan’s book and Karla did not disappoint. I desperately needed his story. I was so intrigued by his character and the mystery behind his strong and silent type. Though what I didn’t expect was to be so emotional while reading his story. Like, how can a sports romance bring me to tears? Well, it did just as much as it brought the laughs. And I knew there was more to his stony persona and that the right person would eventually sneak their way through and get to the heart of him. Though Logan never expected the force of impact he’d be hit with when Paige stormed through.PAIGE! OMFG, I hardcore loved her. I loved her spunky, fiery and take no s*** attitude. She was a force to be reckoned with. She has no trouble putting people in their place if they cross her. She’s a feisty badass and when her Mama Bear comes out, you better watch out because she’ll fight anyone that causes pain to the ones she cares and loves for. Logan and Paige needed the same thing at the same time, so they decided to help each other out. But what they didn’t expect was the undeniable attraction between them. The sexual tension between these two can be cut with a knife. And when the lines start to blur from “fake” to real, well it’s only a matter of time when the flames start to burn scorching hot. The Marriage Effect brought all the feels. Logan and Paige are everything. And add four sassy sisters who equally bring the laughs and emotions, a rowdy Wolves team and you’ve got yourself a sweet and swoony sports romance. A definite must read. *I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

Logan Ward is a grumpy pro football player that no one really knows. He comes in, does his job, and basically fades into the woodwork with no press. There are no women in his life except for the 4 girls at home that he has guardianship of, his half sisters, and he would rather die than let anyone else have them. However, they're a handful, and when one of them pulls another stunt, his brother starts making waves about taking guardianship away, Logan must take drastic measures to keep them. Enter Paige McKinney. She's a very fly by the seat of her pants woman, who doesn't think things through. She has an inheritance that she can only receive if she's married, but she's not one for relationships either, as she gets bored easily. But when Logan leaves his cell phone at a team party, she volunteers to take it to him, but the only way to get it to him is to say she's his fiance, and his brother hears her say that. Once they start talking, they figure out that getting married would solve both of their problems. Living in close quarters, it doesn't take them long to figure out that they have crazy chemistry, but he is trying to keep her at arms length, until he can't anymore and they light the sheets on fire during sexy times. However, since it started out as a fake marriage, you already know something along the lines of a twist is going to come to stop them in the red zone when feelings are being caught, so there will be that make or break moment. Will Paige run or actually stay & fight for what she wants this time?! You'll have to one click on this amazing story to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yes, he has his cons, but not many and they can definitely be spun in a positive light as well. He is a football player that tries to stay out of the spotlight and remain hidden to keep his guardianship of his sisters out of the spotlight. *Swoon*. Until a situation occurs that jeopardizes his guardianship and he would do ANYTHING to help keep his sisters, so bringing in a fiery spitfire as his wife is either an amazing idea or freaking stupid. This story is absolutely beautiful with some freaking major angsty steamy scenes, some hilarious moments, and a lovely plot where everything is laid out perfectly and organically. This is hands down my favorite Karla Sorensen book ever! Which honestly, I’m pretty surprised about. I really wasn’t sold on Paige before this. This quiet, intense, hard-working hunk who stayed out of the limelight and protected his sisters at all cost, was such a beautiful person inside and out. It was so easy to fall in love with him. I loved how controlled he always was, except with Paige. Paige McKinney was one fiery heroine who was the PERFECT match for our hero. I loved Paige with her sharp wits and how she drove Logan insane, how she started bonding with his sisters, how she came to love and care this family. She brought happiness in their lives in a way only she could. Logan and Paige were a match in every sense of the word. Their simmering chemistry fanned the flames that burned inside of them with every tease and touch. What was also special was how Paige fit so well with Logan's family. It was as if she was always a part of them. Sure, Paige had some obstacles to overcome but that was the fun and emotional part. Their marriage might have started as a convenience but they were the real deal from the get go.
