Misadventures In Blue
Senior Detective Cat Day has one hard and fast rule about dating: no cops. They live hard and die young—a truth she’s faced every day since her fiancé’s tragic death several years ago. But when rookie Jace Sutton shows up to work the same burglary investigation, she feels desire she hasn’t felt in years. Jace knows what he wants the minute Detective Day strolls onto his crime scene in heels and a pencil skirt tailored by God himself. He wants to thaw the legendary Ice Queen, and it only takes one hot, dirty night for Jace to realize he wants more. Much, much more. But more is the last thing Cat wants from any cop—especially a playboy rookie like Jace. As the burglary investigation heats up and he repeatedly puts himself in danger, Cat must ask herself if Jace will be as reckless with her heart as he is with his life. *****Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

4 Gun and Garter Stars ⭐Detective Catherine Day is well respected in her field. But this hasn't stopped the whispers about her. Referred to as the Ice Queen, accusations of being frigid and closed off, hurt. But she hasn't been able to move forward since the death of her partner, until him. But this hasn't stopped the whispers about her. Referred to as the Ice Queen, accusations of being frigid and closed off, hurt. But she hasn't been able to move forward since the death of her partner, until him. "His combination of strength and power and youth—that thrill of seeing a man so young and virile vibrate with such restrained intensity."Police Rookie Jace Sutton has moved back to his home town eager to put down some roots after a stint in the army. Sensible and old beyond his years has him looking for less complications and stability. But even he can't resist the lure of her. When meeting over a case, it sees Cat acting out of impulsiveness by putting herself out there for a one night stand. Even if she questions her sanity the moment the words are uttered from her mouth. "What if—oh, this is a big one—what if this young man doesn’t like my definitely-a-woman-in-her-thirties body?"Where Cat is looking for uncomplicated pleasure, she will quickly realise that Jase may be young but he's no pushover. He has no intention of just being used and thrown to the curb. Especially when it is clear that their hearts are involved. Misadventures in Blue is an age gap romance between an older woman and a younger man where roles are reversed. It will take Cat to grow the metaphorical balls to go after exactly what she wants regardless of her insecurities. This was an enjoyable read, and as always with a Sierra Simone book, maybe don't read it in public because you're going to need some personal relief... "I’m not sure what else he wants until his hand gives my ass a quick crack and then just as quickly finds my clit. Then I know. He wants more from me. He wants me wild. He wants me to come."If you are looking for some reading inspiration, feel free to check out my website www.mypinkfairytales.com

Jace Sutton, a rookie assigned to the detective is completely mesmerised by the silent ice queen, he knows there’s more to the woman than what people see and he’ll do whatever he can to break down the walls. Watching these two work the case together is incredible. I’m a sucker for an age gap when written well and this one was incredible. Sierra Simone really knows how to hook you in with the sexy times, the insanely hot sexual chemistry and adorable moments. They all mix together and creat the perfect storyline. What I didn’t love was the amount of pushing she did, it damn well hurt my heart, I hated it but I understood it. I got so frustrated gah. Misadventures In Blue was naughty as hell and sexy as f**k. Oh Jace! Young man! You brought out the cougar in me! Truth be told it didn’t take much, a bend over a table, a kick of the legs apart and I was starry eyed. This book is a bit of a change in style for Sierra. Not as heavy as the Camelot or Thornchapel books. More like the books she co wrote with Laurelin Paige. Obviously hot and sexy, because Sierra does that so well, but less frenetic. She’s great at her job, she is the Ice Queen and with good reason.Ice Queen cop plus young alpha stallion cop equals lots of testosterone and torn knickers. I have a confession. I saw one of those police department lip sync things and one of the policemen was super hot so I went through all their Facebook photos to find pictures of said cop and I saved them to my iPad. Officer Highley, I do apologise but it was you I imagined as Jace Sutton. I’m guilty as charged. Please feel free to head over here with the cuffs and take down my particulars. Or knickers. Whichever.

I absolutely devoured this book from beginning to end, even sneaking in some reading at work, but that'll be our little secret. I'm hesitant about age gap stories where the woman is older because she always ends up pushing the man away. She wants him to be able to have his fun, sow his oats, etc. Of course that happens here. In age gap stories, the ages usually act as a plot point. BUT.... butbutbut... Sierra does it in such a way that you aren't even focused on that issue. Not only was it deliciously hot, but it also held depth, which is one of the MANY reasons why Sierra Simone is one of my top 5 favorite authors of all time. She pushes boundaries, she isn't afraid to do so either, and the way she delivers these words... Seriously you can't help but fall in love. Cat hasn't had the best run with life, her past making it hard for to be truly let people see her real emotions and actually feel them herself, instead, she is closed off and works tirelessly at her job as a Detective and it's made evident... And though her past is rough, to say the least, she is still a strong character. She takes the lead and when push comes to shove, she can take charge and get what she needs/wants. She is a phenomenal character and she was a treat to read. She has lived a life alone for the last 12 years after losing someone she loved more than anything in the world, but the moment she laid eyes on the new cop, She knew that she needed him for at least one blissful night. Jace is new to the force, but he has knowledge from the military. When he and Cat cross paths he can't help but want to know more about this woman. He had heard stories of how closed off and cold she is but that didn't stop him from lusting after her... He knew the moment he saw her that he wanted her but given the age difference and her icy cold persona will this lead to more than just a fling for these two? Or will Cat let her walls down and let Jace in... I loved this! It was such an enjoyable read. It was hot, full of chemistry, that push and pull feeling and it held an emotional side to it too. It proves that Sierra Simone can write just about anything and it will always be flawlessly and Misadventures In Blue was one hell of a start to this seasons line up. I highly recommend this book, you will certainly not be disappointed!5 Stars!

3.5 starsThis book was just ok for me. It was a recommendation and my first book from Sierra. There was plenty of sexiness and chemistry but the story just didn’t hold my interest. I pushed through trying to give the author the benefit hoping it would get better but maybe I was in a reading funk or it just wasn’t for me.I won’t give up but maybe one of her other books will be a win for me.

Take me to the station Officer because I have had some naughty thoughts!  Misadventures in Blue by Sierra Simone is a standalone novella that is part of the Misadventures series.  Hot, sticky and oh so dirty it is the perfect 5-star read to go along with a hot summer’s day.  Sierra Simone is an erotic writing goddess and told a tantalizing story of two cops and how they spend their time both on and off the clock.Jace Sutton is fairly new to the police force but has tons of military experience. He’s heard the stories about Detective Catherine (Cat) Day and her ice-cold demeanor.  Once he lays on her at a crime scene he is smitten.  Cat has been lonely since the death of her police officer fiancée twelve years ago, but she takes one look at Officer Sutton and knows that she doesn’t need to be lonely that night.  Cat and Jace find themselves working a case together and as time progresses so do the sparks and the romance.  Cat wants it to all be for fun, but she knows she’s already losing her heart to this Misadventure in Blue.

I've come to expect a certain heat from Sierra Simone when I read one of her stories, be it short or long. I've also come to expect the unexpected and think about things I might have never even considered before. And she delivers all of this in Misadventures in Blue. What I think caught me most by surprise was the dynamic between Detective Cat Day and officer Jace Sutton. Cat is older and higher ranking. She may have seen more than Jace, but as he's a war veteran, he's no stranger to the hazards I've come to expect a certain heat from Sierra Simone when I read one of her stories, be it short or long. I understood Cat's fear of letting Jace in, and I loved how Jace called her on it, but also was patient for the most part. I also loved how confident and Jace was in his feelings about Cat. This was a fast paced, quick, and intense read. Surprisingly it's the first Misadventures book by Sierra I've read. Thankfully it means I have two more to read! If you're in the mood for something hot, dirty, and delicious, this is a great choice!

I love the Misadventures series, and whoever came up with this brilliant idea is simply a genius. Catherine, aka Cat, Day is a 37 year old detective who comes across very serious. Yeah, she definitely comes across that way, but no one has really put out the effort to really get to know her to this point. Cat has pretty much been frozen in the no sex zone for these past 12 years, and she now has a rule where there won't be anymore cops in her life. This all changes when Jace Sutton starts at the Hocker Grove Police Department. See, Jace instantly decides that he wants Cat for his own, but not only is he a cop, he's also 13 years her junior, so she ain't having it. There's just one important thing, they have some serious chemistry which isn't going to be denied for any length of time, so off we go on a super sexy adventure with Cat & Jace, which is totally taking place on the down low. I have to reiterate that Jace's age & profession is definitely strikes against him, but Cat still sets all kinds of things on fire with him as they indulge in sexy times everywhere the mood hits. I know that I'm going on about the hotness factor, but for real, you'll need to read it by a fan. That's not to say there's no emotional issues going on, because before Jace, Cat was stuck in limbo for a very long time. So besides the uber hot sexy times which are setting off feelings, but how does it all pan out?! Will Cat ever throw out her new rules for a second chance at happiness?! You'll just have to one click this super hot, amazing story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Another fabulous read by Sierra, everything she writes is just golden and I thoroughly enjoyed this little cop / older woman romp with gusto!!Cat aka the Ice Queen is a 37 year old detective who hasn't really dated for the past 12 years since her fiance was killed in the line of duty, with her not being able to save him. Emotions are something she keeps firmly locked inside, hence her nickname at the station.Jace is ex military, now the new cop at the station, and has been assigned to work with Cat after a spate of robberies. He is instantly attracted to her, her cool and calm demeanour, her eye for detail and her professionalism. The attraction is so intense, Cat throws caution to the wind and allows herself to feel, she wants Jace, and her certainly does not disappoint, in fact he blows her world to smithereens with just one intense sexual encounter. Jace knows this is no ordinary one night stand, he knows Cat is the one person he wants more with, but Cat has major reservations about her age and about dating another cop, not wanting to relive what happened with her fiance.Brilliantly written and intense, it's hard to find a good older woman read, this one was fabulous. Their chemistry and attraction to each other searingly hot, Cat may well be older but Jace is definitely the one in charge, very alpha, hot, filthy but with the right amount of sweet. A great story line with lots of push and pull between Cat and Jace with plenty of emotions to go with it. You can't go wrong with this one! Highly recommended reading.

“None of those rich boys knew what to do with you, did they? They didn’t know how shameless you really are. It was a delicious, fast paced read I simply could not put down. I was addicted to this book and it's characters from the very first page. I just could not read it quick enough. I loved this story had a age gap between the heroine and hero. Older women and younger man are always some of my favorite stories to devour. I also have a weak spot for a police related romance. The only reason I didn't rate this book 5 stars is I did find certain parts to be a little slow paced for my liking. I also wanted to smack some sense into Cat more than once throughout this book. But that's just me being picky. Other than that I overall found the book quite enjoyable. The chemistry between Cat and Jace was out of this world. They know just how to ignite your kindle on fire in the most sinful ways. I was definitely rooting for these characters through every complicated messy obstacle they were facing. "She looks expensive. Cultured. And I’m the man who gets to bite and bind and dishevel it all. I’m the man who gets to make her mine." Cat was one of those heroines that you either loved or would have loved to shake. To say she kept my emotions all over the place is a understatement. I loved how straight forward, independent, and vulnerable her character was. She was the perfect contradiction. She both lived up to her Ice Queen name, and reveled against it. My heart broke for her so hard when all her past demons came to light. However at times her naivety and insecurities had me wanting to slap some sense into her. "I want all of that possessive, revengeful man over me and underneath me. Claiming me." Jace is hands down the total Alpha package! He is MINE, I call dibs! I LOVED his character so dang much. I seriously hung on his every word throughout this book. He was overbearing, protective, and utterly dominant. I never knew if he was going to melt my panties, or melt my heart. I have never swooned so much in my life. The care, devotion, and lust he felt for Cat was out of bounds. Jace definitely commanded your attention, while demanding your heart. "I want you to take me everywhere in your body— and I mean everywhere, Cat— until you feel as owned by me as I’m owned by you.” *4&1/2 STARS*Well earned for another smoking HOT Sierra Simone read. If your looking for a unique passion fueled read then I would absolutely recommend reading this book.

What a fantastic addition to the Misadventures series! I loved getting to know both Cat and Jace as individuals, and the chemistry between them is all kinds of electrically hot and sexy. The fact that while Jace is on the younger side, he's already looking forward to putting down roots and settling back in his hometown for the long haul. It's obvious he excels at being a cop, at least for a rookie. Cat, on the other hand, is a senior detective and has the whole untouchable persona going on; she doesn't outwardly project her thoughts and feelings, so it makes sense that her nickname around the police department is Ice Queen. People know about the tragedy that affected her years earlier, but no one knows how much she's still affected. The sexy times between them are all kinds of hot, although I reached a point where I grew frustrated with Cat pushing Jace away; I understand why, but that doesn't mean I 100% agree. In spite of that, I love them as a couple and loved this book.
