Gabriel's Promise (Gabriel's Inferno, #4)
Author Sylvain Reynard returns with the fourth installment of the bestselling Gabriel's Inferno series. When Gabriel and Julia Emerson first lay eyes on their newborn daughter, Clare, they realize life as they know it will never be the same. Gabriel has vowed to be a good father when he suddenly receives an invitation to give a series of lectures in Edinburgh, Scotland--an opportunity of high prestige--but that would mean leaving his wife and newborn child in Boston. Hesitant to bring it up, he keeps the opportunity from Julia as long as he can, not knowing she has a secret of her own. When a frightening situation arises that threatens to break their new family apart, both parents must make sacrifices. With the family in danger, the looming question remains: Will Gabriel pursue his lectureship in Edinburgh, leaving Julia and Clare unprotected in Boston, or will he abandon the chance of a lifetime in order to ensure his family's safety?

To my darling Julianne,You’re asleep against my shoulder. Your hair is spilling onto my shoulder. Your warm breath is floating over my neck. You look peaceful. You look beautiful. Our rest is frequently interrupted these days, so I don’t dare move, for fear of waking you.You look comfortable and relaxed, trusting me to watch over you while you sleep. To protect you. To warm you. To hold you close. This is love. A peaceful sleep in the arms of one’s beloved. There was a time when you didn’t trust me To my darling Julianne,You’re asleep against my shoulder. 2.5 STARSAs a huge fan of Gabriel's Inferno series, this must be one of the hardest reviews I have ever written. It has been years since I have read initial trilogy so it is hard to recall the details. But I clearly remember beautiful prose, easy flow of the story and emotional impact that books had on me. Sadly, all these aspects are completely missing in this fourth instalment. Dialogues felt rigid and forced, storyline dragged. But I clearly remember beautiful prose, easy flow of the story and emotional impact that books had on me. Sadly, all these aspects are completely missing in this fourth instalment. Dialogues felt rigid and forced, storyline dragged. So even though it was lovely to revisit my beloved characters, I can't help but feel that this book has no added value to the series. Moreover, all that unnecessary drama that was brought on just for the sake of the drama made this novel look cheap in comparison with the perfection that were first three books. Especially, considering that some parts of the storyline were not even resolved by the end of this book. Which means that (a) there is going to be fifth book or (b) Mr. Reynard did kind of a sloppy job and left some parts with open-ended ending. Either way I am not happy with the result.Don't take me wrong, there were some good parts but nothing that would make my heart race as was common with previous books. So if you are huge fan of this series like myself, I suggest to give this book a chance to see for yourself. Maybe you will like it better than I did. But make sure to lower your expectations...*ARC provided by publisher as an exchange for honest review*

This series is easily one of the best contemporary romances I’ve ever read. It transcends the genre with illustrious symbolism to art and history. I’ve never read something so thoroughly explorative of love, lust, chastity, sin and redemption!! Truly, Reynard is a spectacular, eloquent author that provoked emotions in ways that make me pause. What moreeeee could Sylvain possibly give us?! January 7! Come. To. Me!

Gabriel's Promise by Sylvain Reynard is book four in her Gabriel's Inferno series. Babriel's Promise can be read as a stand alone. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Gabriel's Inferno; Gabriel's Rapture and Gabriel's Redemption. This book is a fast paced romance with thriller elements that left me breathless. It's a nailbiting read with just the right amount of everything that kept me intrigued. I absolutely cannot wait for this book. The thought of it makes me so giddy.I will miss John Micheal Morgan's narration though, I've never actually read the books and the thought of someone else being the narrator makes me sad. I hope whoever's his replacement does a good Job. Either way, I hope I don't have any exams when this book finally comes out because I dobt think I can be disciplined enough not to jump straight at it.

I thought of a different cover, like the familiar one to us?I'm still not so sure about this book, novella maybe but a novel, idk. I will never get enough of Gabriel but I dont wanna read or see one of my best of best become a disaster. But seeing the fist release day December 3rd 2019 then January 7th 2020, I'm ok with that. Hope it's bc Reynard working for her story, not following the trend and sex-sells shit.

Very disappointed. I'm guessing there will be a book 6 as t hff are were way too many unanswered questions left at the end. Very slow and frankly quite boring compared to the original 3 books.
