4.5 stars Sara Ney writes the best laugh out loud rom-coms. Seriously, this book was a hoot. So hilarious. I can’t count how many times I literally laughed out loud. I've been reading a lot of emotional reads lately and this was exactly the book I needed in my life at this moment. Abraham Davis is a wrestler but he's not your typical jock. I can’t count how many times I literally laughed out loud. I've been reading a lot of emotional reads lately and this was exactly the book I needed in my life at this moment. Abraham Davis is a wrestler but he's not your typical jock. He has the biggest heart and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. This can cause him to get taken advantage of and he gets into a bit of a situation because of it... Abe is trying to help his roommate get back in the dating game after getting his heart broken. He's setting up dates for him on an app exclusive to their campus. He's just vetting the girls and chatting with them (as the friend) for a bit to make sure they're a good fit for JB. And all is going well... until he falls for one of them. Skylar hasn't put herself out there in a long time and her bestie talks her into logging on to said app. She's aprehensive to say the least. Until she starts talking to this one guy. He seems pretty perfect. Until she meets him. JB is nothing like he seems to be and she's so confused. She really connects with this guy on the app, but in person they do not fit. Then she meets his roommate Abe. That is the type of guy she wants. Things get a little bit conflicted up in here... There is a huge douchebag in this book, but it’s not the hero. My Abe is the sweetest! And I really liked Skylar, too. She's a little blunt, has no filter, and is a lot of fun. She and Abe compliment each other perfectly. Skylar’s roommate Hannah made this book for me. My god I laughed so hard any time she was in the picture. And my boy Zeke made more than one appearance and it made me so so happy! Also, that epilogue… I am living for what’s coming next!!! This is a series that never disappoints. I've loved each book and I'm so happy there are more to come. Ney's writing is effortlessly funny and this story is sweet, swoony, hilarious and has just the right amount of steam. Highly recommended to all lovers of new adult romance and sports romance!! Lost. She’s lost in herself, and I’m lost in her and it’s freaking gorgeous. I fucking love her. One swipe. One date. Sweet. Salty. Bratty. Kind—and all mine.

I knew I wasn’t going to make it out the other side without some collateral damage.” THE LYING HOURS is another romantic comedy that tries to put a new spin on the “Cyrano De Bergerac” story and even though it might be predictable, I can’t deny that it was wildly entertaining. I didn’t know what to make of Abraham Davis at first, but as soon as we find out he’s a huge reader and loves to spend quiet time in a second-hand book store, I was a goner for him. He’s truly a good guy, who might be a bit of a pushover, but his heart is golden.Skylar is snarky and a little anti-social…my kind of girl. She’s not into partying and getting drunk. Skylar wants to be in a committed relationship but hasn’t had luck in the love department and so she signs up on a dating app after being convinced to do so by her bestie. She soon matches up with JB, and the two have great banter over the app. What she doesn’t know is JB is really Abe, who is chatting up girls for his roommate/teammate who is trying to get over a broken heart. JB is a true douchebag with absolutely no skills with the written word, so Abe agrees to help him find girls in hopes that his friend gets out of the funk he’s in. I’m beginning to realize that it’s the friends in these stories that are the douchebags and not the main characters!Of course, when Skylar meets the real JB for drinks, it’s obvious that the two have absolutely no chemistry and JB pretty much screws it all up. Somehow Abe convinces Skylar to agree to another date with JB but this time it's a double date which Abe and her Bestie, Hannah, will go on with them. It’s during this double date that Abe realizes the girl of his dreams is the one he’s been trying to woo for his buddy JB. How is he going to get the girl, when she’s supposed to be with JB? What will Skylar do when she finds out Abe has been deceiving her from the start? Makes for a pretty interesting plot, right?!!Here are my overall ratings:Heroes: 5Heroine: 4.5Plot: 4Angst: 4Steam: 4Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4.5”THE LYING HOURS” releases on May 9th!AMAZON: https://amzn.to/2HaFl9sAMAZON UK: https://amzn.to/2LuJB7E AMAZON AU: https://amzn.to/2J9xTO1AMAZON CA: https://amzn.to/2LwYI0n

Like an old married couple they made me laugh and grin so much – even if sometimes they took it a bit too far. But I adored how comfortable they were with each other – friendship goals!!! It was all very much what I enjoy in a SN book.On top of that, Skylar and Abe were a great couple. They were similar in many ways, especially in their personalities. Both were quieter and laid back – people I could easily relate to. But in the bedroom – lol – those two had me cracking up! 4 STARS I’m the guy they go to when they want something fixed, like their car. Or their love life. Looking for a fun, light-hearted New Adult romance that packs plenty of laughs along with a sweet and steamy romance? Look no further! The Lying Hours was everything I've come to love about Sara Ney and everything I love in New Adult romance. It had amazing secondary characters, a cameo from my TOP FAVORITE douchebag. Oh, and I'm pretty convinced that Skylar's BFF happens to be my spirit animal. 4 STARS I’m the guy they go to when they want something fixed, like their car. Or their love life. But I digress.Contrary to the title, Abe is definitely not a douchebag. He's the quintessential nice guy. He's the fixer, the one everyone goes to with their problems. He's also the one currently trying to pick out dates for his lazy roommate who's trying to get over his ex. The only problem? His roommate is most definitely a douchebag. And the last girl that he matches him with on the university's dating app happens to be a lot more of his type. But she thinks she's talking to JB. And poor Abe is in way over his head.Admittedly, this got off to a somewhat slow start with me. I'm not even sure why, or if I can put my finger on why exactly. But I also know that it didn't last long before I was completely enraptured in this story. Skylark is everything I love in a great heroine. This girl takes zero sh*t. She isn't shy about putting anyone in their place, including JB and then sooner or later, poor Abe too. Her best friend and roommate Hannah was the comedic relief of the story. This chick was AWESOME. I seriously couldn't get enough of her quirky humor and loud mouth. I'm seriously thrilled to get a novella for her next. But I digress again.I loved that Skylar makes Abe work for it. And I loved that even though Abe is a super nice guy, he's also not perfect. The man messes up on more than one occasion but he's not afraid to own up to it either. The chemistry between them was instant and potent. I loved the two of them together once they finally get there.I would have loved to have an epilogue or another chapter for them, though. I couldn't help but feel like I wanted just a little more of the romance at the end because it IS a slow burn for them for a while. I suppose I just wanted more of them together to appease my selfish wants. Le sigh. But that aside, I still seriously loved this book. It was quirky and fun and absolutely delicious! I adore this series and I adore everything Sara Ney writes. This was certainly no exception.ARC courtesy of author in exchange for an honest reviewFind me on:

I loved the adorable text flirting back and forth and how adorable Abe could be. I wasn't lying when I said this boy was sweet, and it added a really fun vibe to the book. Especially when that flirting turned into a real life thing and it was someone even better. Abe and Skylar were the perfect match and they had me happy sighing, and even smiling like a loon at times, as I read. Overall, this book gets a thumbs up from me and I definitely recommend it. All of these books can be read as standalones so if you haven't read anything from this series yet I think this is a great book to start with.ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

He has a heart of gold and is the one that his friends and teammates turn to whenever they need help, to the point that he has been nicknamed the team’s ‘Grandfather’. His latest mission is to help his teammate/roommate, JB, get over his broken heart by trying to find him a girl via the college’s dating app. Abe goes online, vets the matches, starts up a quick dialogue and sets up the dates, leaving JB to take it from there. Skylar Gabriel’s is a down-to-earth girl whose life is defined by average grades and embracing her love of pyjamas and couch time over the college social life. She has great friends, but she wants to find love - a sweet guy with a sense of humor who is looking for something more than a quick hook-up. With encouragement from her girlfriends, she turns to the college’s dating app hoping to meet somebody. Within moments of logging in, Skylar matches with JB, and they begin a fun, banter-filled flirtation. They click instantly, and they’re both feeling the attraction which only deepens the longer they keep messaging each other. But the problem is – she’s not falling for JB, she’s falling for Abe. And Abe wants Skylar for himself. This is such a cute and fun set-up. The chemistry between Abe and Skylar is fantastic, the text conversations are so entertaining, and I couldn’t wait to see how their attraction would translate into real life…. and I was not disappointed! But with their whole relationship built on deception, how will they be able to untangle the lies, and where do they go from here? “For what it’s worth, I…” It sounds like I’m choking on my words, throat constricting. “I think you’re pretty fucking perfect.” I really enjoyed this read, it’s a great romance and the characters are fantastic – Skylar is funny and so relatable, and Abe is just gorgeous, sweet and funny, I fell for him so hard. This book can easily be read as a standalone as the only thing really tying it to the series is the setting, but fans will love the cameo from our favourite Douchebag, Zeke, as he imparts his dating wisdom, lol. And that epilogue gives us a glimpse of more that is to come and I cannot wait!Loved it - 4 stars. An Advanced Reader Copy was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

But with this huge lie between them, "Honest" Abe may lose out on the best thing that ever happened to him.GAH!! The Lying Hours is hands down #bantergoals!! I loved Skylar and Abe's banterific exchanges! And the fact that it all began over a dating app?  ALLLL THE SWOONS!! There is nothing I love more in books than texting. Now combine that with this author's proven D-bag magic - out of this world amazing!! All in all I loved this story. Skylar and Abe were funny, sweet and sexy with a dash of awkwardness which equals a total endearing package. And the icing on the cake? My favorite A-hole D-Bag's return! Lord that man gives me life. He is my favorite mean boy and seeing him again was one of the highlights of this book! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula ***Sara Ney has a gift for these sort of gritty, authentic feeling sports romance stories that pull you in immediately and keep you reading, almost compulsively, until the very last page. Between the easily relatable writing style and her gift for dialogue and banter - each one of her stories is basically a "sure thing".So, no surprise then that I loved The Lying Hours, right? Indeed, I was sucked in immediately. As someone who has navigated the dicey world of online dating, I loved the concept of how Abe and Skylar met. I enjoyed those first conversations between them immensely. Abe was so the guy I yearned for back in my dating days. He's smart and witty and gives good banter. I was probably hooked on him way before Skylar was because everything about him was adorable to me. Skylar was a bit more difficult for me to attach to. I love a quirky heroine more than anything, but something about her particular brand of quirky left me with one eyebrow raised, a little unsure if this is someone I would be friends with in real life. I appreciated the healthy amount of self respect she had, and how she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. But she came off as over-the-top to me sometimes and I didn't always know what to make of that. That said, I did love the way these two connected, and laughed so hard as their meet-cute sort of went off the rails, and then recovered in the most adorable way imaginable. My heart thumped and fluttered and kicked all over the place as their chemistry heated up and they began to catch feelings. While I enjoyed their relationship overall, I might have liked a little more depth to it. A little more conversation, a little more back-story, a little more emotional connection. Their physical chemistry was burning up my kindle, but the extra attention to that personal/emotional connection would have taken their relationship to the next level for me I think. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the magic that was Skylar's best friend, Hannah. Y'all - the secondary character game is strong in this book and Hannah was a scene-stealer extraordinaire. She made me laugh out loud more than once and was the exact kind of goofy, quirky character my heart is powerless against. I'm thrilled to see there's a novella coming with her name in it - soon!In all? I devoured this book. I adored this fun storyline and the beauty that was Abe Davis. I had so much fun reading it and truly, cannot wait for more! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

She wasn't that fit, her grades weren't that great and there wasn't really anything interesting about her per se. However, she had such a fun personality, just enough sass and she was strong enough to put Abe in his place when he messed up.Abe is a wholesome, good natured, kind hearted guy. The type of guy his friends sometimes take for granted. So when his roomamte asks him to lure girls for him under his profile on the dating app, he jumps in to help. He pretends to be his roommate, has engaging converstations with girls, and then asks them on a date that his roomamte will go on instead of him. When he starts talking to Skylar though, he realizes this girl is special.I couldn't get enough of all the banter while they messaged each other. Witty, amusing and entertaining is an understatement! This book was seriously fun to read. The first half of the book was a bit angsty but overall I thought this was a light, enjoyable read. The chemistry was on point. So much sexual tension that slowly killed me and the connection between these two was just combustible. Abe was such a sweetheart that I fell in love with right away. A douchebag he really is not. He acted like an idiot for a whole 5 min towards the end of the book but hey, he's a college guy. He was totally allowed. I loved even more that Skylar was a strong heroine who stood up for herself and demanded he treat her with respect.I will end my review by saying how much I loved the cameo appearance by what I like to call "the ultimate douchebag". I won't tell you who he is but watching a guy like him give love advice to Abe was just ironic, hysterical and downright perfect!I highly recommend this one if you love to laugh, enjoy sexy scenes and great banter.4.5 StarsNew Adult College RomancePOV: DualHeat Level: ModerateHEAFollow me for your next comfort read!

Her love life isn't the best so her friend talk her in to try the dating app. But that isn't easy either until she find JB well that's who she thinks it is. This guy is perfect she feels the connection to him straight away there conversion flows so easy. Until they meet. Abe is a really great guy I luv him. He might be a push over in ways but he is just a great guy. He even helps he friend finds dates. Abe does have time for girls with studying and wrestling. In The Lying Hours, we have two people who meet and fall for each other on a dating app. Except one of them is lying about who he is…Abe Davis is a total sweetheart – he’s definitely more along the lines of Rhett and Kip than the other Douchebag boys. He’s the kind of guy who’s willing to do anything for his friends, which is why he’s on a dating app for his roommate to help him get over a bad breakup. He definitely doesn’t expect to match with one Skylar Gabriel, have fun, witty, meaningful text convos with her, and fall for her. This is a case of a mistaken identity over a dating app, which you can imagine doesn’t go well. But Sara Ney writes all of this with her laugh-out-loud humor and hilarious wit. I loved the way Abe and Skylar connected, and their chemistry is off the charts. Abe is basically a big ole teddy bear you just want to hug. Skylar is the kind of heroine who you want to be best friends with. She and her best friend Hannah were so much fun to read about. I wish this book was a little bit longer, and that we got more time with Abe and Sky as a couple, but other than that, this is another great installment in the series! Now I need Hannah’s book! Thanks to the author for generously providing me an ARC to review.Amazon Ebook: https://amzn.to/307rVSZLiked this review? Subscribe to Booklovers For Life for more!

2.5-3 starsI was so excited when I learned that Sara Ney would be giving us another book in the Douchebag series! The Lying Hours has all of her trademark hilarity and laugh out loud banter, and we even get a guest appearance from a favorite douchebag too! This is book 5 in the series, but can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone, though I highly recommend the previous books.Abe was such a swoony hero. He’s the guy we all wish actually existed in real life. He does make some poor choices, but his heart was always in the right place. His all in attitude toward Skylar melted my heart. Speaking of Skylar, I respected that she knew what she wanted and didn’t fold under peer pressure. She knew her worth and stuck to her guns. Her roommate, Hannah, was OTT crazy and it brought a lot of humor to the story. The appearance of Zeke was probably the highlight of the book for me and I enjoyed seeing him dispense advice in a perfectly Zeke like way ;) I don’t think I will ever tire of seeing him or getting updates about him and Violet. The ending of the book was a bit abrupt, but the epilogue will make fans of the series happy since we aren’t saying goodbye to the douchebags just yet.As much as I liked Abe and Skylar, I unfortunately didn’t love them together. Their actions and personalities seemed to change dramatically in the last part of the book and it seemed to contradict the people we had met in the first half. They had chemistry, but it didn’t translate well in the bedroom for me and things just felt more awkward than sexy. Throw in a random inappropriate encounter with a female neighbor and an anticlimactic confrontation between the hero and his roommate and it just left me a bit confused. The pacing of the story felt off, with some parts moving very quickly and others slowly. Unfortunately, it made the book feel disjointed to me. Overall, it was still an enjoyable and funny read, but as much as I loved jumping back into this series, I can’t say that I loved the book itself.*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book *

I thought sweet Eric would be the last in the series but it seems Sara Ney is here to provide what we need!Abe Davis is another sweet guy. He is a nice guy. Simple as. He is part of the wrestling team, and was a freshman at the time out other loves Sebastian and Zeke and those lovable guys where around. The only problem with Abe here is that he lets his kindness be taken advantage of.Choosing to help his friend and roommate JB to find a girl after his breakup through the new dating app LoveU, he ends up falling for one girl. The only problem she doesn't who he really is.Skylar, is quite laid back and goes with how she wants things to go, however she can be easily swayed into doing this without meaning to. In this case her friends end up persuading her to join the college's dating app where she ends up building a amazing connection with a guy called JB.When she goes to meet him he's unlike anything they're chats have been which leaves her at a loss of words. But when he pops up in her chats later that evening asking for forgiveness and another chance at a double date she can't say no.Abe and Skylar meet in person and they can't deny the attraction between them. However when they decide to create something more, it's the lie that Abe has been holding back that will come crashing into their world. They burn a lot but they fight even harder. And with a little helping hand from our old friend Zeke Daniel's and his girlfriend Violet Abe is maybe able to pull himself out of the mess he's made. There's laughs and a lot of moments you can't stop smiling who h makes this just another amazing read by Sara Ney.She never ends to please with these stories and the turns that kept coming had me grappling for more. My only wish is that there was like a million more pages becuase I so could read about Abe and Skylar's relationship forever. They're two character's that have stolen my heart and I can't wait to meet them again in the next book in the series following Skylar's bestie Hannah.A total utter must read and if you haven't read the other books in the series start them now too! You won't regret it!!**BEFOREI love this series so hard! I can't wait to meet another Douchebag and I know you, Sara Ney will not end to please, so take my five stars because I cannot wait for this release and know it will be amazing!! ❤️**

4 StarsThis book was hilarious! I was laughing all the time. The banter between Skylar and Hanna was the best! And when Zeke from The Failing Hours joined in with Abe I was laughing again. I loved how we got to see a little of some of the first people from the first books.Skylar is a sweet girl, not too experienced and all she wants is a good guy who will want to be in a committed relationship and not just a hookup. I can't figure out if I like her or not. There were moments in the book I loved her and then she said something or did something that ended up in me being so annoyed and over her. She really got on my nerves. But Abe saves the day (and book) I loved him. He is awkward, clumsy, have no clue about women, inexperienced, total nerd and a total sweetheart who will make you swoon. He is like the guy next door who is so hot but have no social skills. He was sometimes a little confused about what Skylar did but I loved that he just rolled with it. Let's say some of the times I laughed was doing times that I probably should have been all hot and bothered normally but he is just so awkward (in the best way possible) and well kinda a newbie in the whole sex thing so isn't always good at not coming too quickly. But he makes up for it don't you worry ladies! But just to say if I was Skylar I would probably cry a little if it kept going like that. The story overall was good little drama but nothing too big. I loved how it all just went really naturally and I love the teaser we got for the next book I can't wait!!This book is a great read with lots of humor and some wonderful people in it. I had a great time reading it and was having so much fun. I have loved this series and this was another great book. So are you looking for a book that will make you laugh and make you forget all the bad in the world, then don't worry this is the book for you.

The Lying Hours is the fifth book in the How To Date A Douchebag series by Sara Ney. This novel is told in dual point of views (Abe & Skylar) and can be read as a standalone.I know I'm going to get a bunch of hell for saying this, The Lying Hours is the first book I've read in this series... I know, I know. Where the hell have I been. Obviously I've been hiding under a rock... I can't believe it's taken me this long to pick up a douchebag novel!!! The Lying Hours was such a fun read. I honestly loved the relationship between Abe and Skylar. These two are hilarious and they mesh so perfectly. Well, all except for that little catfishing incident. I have to give credit where credit is due, Abe is officially the number one wingman. I honestly don't know of anyone else that will go out of there way to set up their best friend with a girl he's secretly digging. This man should get a trophy or something. The only issue I had was towards the end when all the secrets were exposed. A little bit of unnecessary drama was thrown in the midst causing me to seriously question Abe's character. I loved him throughout this novel and At the end I felt like a parent disappointed in their kid for the very first time. That trust was broken and there wasn't enough time to earn it back. But I guess that's why the series is titled 'How To Date A Douchebag'. Overall, The Lying Hours was a fun read. I loved Skylar and her quirky vibes. I'm really interested in picking the previous four books up and giving them a read. hmm, we shall see.Find me here:The Staircase ReaderInstagramFacebookTwitter

Ok, so I just want to start by saying this series is legit one of the absolute best series I’ve EVER come across. It’s funny, sexy and totally freaking awesome. I’m a big fan of this series and I’ve loved every single one I’ve met especially Abe. His story was so much fun to read. A dating app, a friend acting on behalf of another, a bad date and a couple lies coming out, sounds like the perfect kind of book right? Totally right! This book has drama and laughs for days. It hooks you in completely from the beginning because even those little bits at the start of the chapter get you, they’re such an awesome part of the story, of the book. Skylar is a fun, spunky girl who knows what she wants. She wants a guy who’s in it for the long haul and not one that won’t call the next day but finding that is proving to be hard for her so her bestie convinced her to set herself up on a dating site, what she doesn’t expect is what follows from there. Abe is lovely and kind. Hell do anything for anyone especially his best friend. He’s a little bit of a pushover for him which is how he’s ended up acting on behalf of him on a dating site but what he wasn’t expecting is a beauty that swiped right to peek his interest. I won’t go into further detail because oh my god you NEED to read this yourself to enjoy the full experience but believe me when I say, you will absolutely enjoy it! Sara Ney is a pure genius when she’s bringing her characters to life. They all have different personalities and you just can’t help but love each of them. From Oz to Abe, they just steal your every thought and leave you thinking of nothing but them. I’m really REALLY excited to see more coming from Sara, I can’t wait to hear more about Rex, that ending, injustice need more from him. I need his story. The Lying Hours was fun and awkward. You’ll fall in love with the characters and wish you had more. This has to be one of my top reads in 2019!

This is a fun and relatable college romance novel. Sara Ney uses online dating when connecting her characters to the story and I think she hit the nail on the head. Online dating is such a prominent way for people to find romance these days and the fact that she used this within the novel makes it a modern and fun romance. I loved the banter between Abe and Skylar and could see exactly why these two were a perfect match for one another. Of course they had differences; like she doesn't let ANYONE walk all over her and he does (he really puts his friends on a pedestal), she is snarky and sarcastic while he is a bit more laid back, etc. But from the way they get along it's very clear that both of these characters have a lot of heart. I really enjoyed watching them connect! For the most part, this is an easy, breezy read, and it doesn't have a lot of drama (thank you!). I personally would have liked to have gotten to know the characters on a deeper level, but I "got them" even though their backgrounds were pretty much non existent. Other than this, I think fans of the author are really going to fall hard for this modern love story! You will laugh, swoon, and want to crack heads with the secondary characters!

I liked this book, but I’m kinda pissed about the epilogue. As I’ve said many many many many times before, I HATE epilogues that are setting up for the next book, which this book did. And to make it worse it had REX in it! I hated Rex every single time he was in the previous books. He absolutely RUINED the last book for me, it was the first book in the series that I rated so low. And it was all thanks to him, so I will NOT be reading his book. He is not a redeemable character IMO. And knowing th I liked this book, but I’m kinda pissed about the epilogue. Not once in the whole book do they exchange “I love you”s. Also a big pet peeve of mine. The scene in the beginning where he says he’s going to jerk off to his neighbors naked silhouette and has to resist touching himself, didn’t like that. Oh well.

She is a sweet, strong and sassy young college woman that’s not that into partying. She is looking for a great guy to date. Skylar let herself be convinced by her BFF Hannah to enter the campus dating site; LoveU. Oh boy!!! Abe is another hunk member of the Iowa wrestling team. When I say hunk I mean built like a tank of pure male hotness. I would drool all over him like a proud cougar if I had the chance hahaha. He is a sweet, caring guy and a great friend on top of been super sexy. So what’s the problem with this fine specimen of a man? Nothing mayor than been TOO good of a friend and be taken advantage off. Here enter JB; Abe’s douche roommate. He will make Abe help him found dates on LoveU but what happens when our man starts making a connection with one girl that’s supposed to be going on dates with JB?? Just imagine how much drama all this will make. I’m not telling anything else you guys need to dive into this one to find out. This LoveU app will sure make some hilarious situations for this couple. Also not only the leading couple was the bomb; the secondary character Hannah was hilarious. She is Skylar’s best friend and roommate. The things that came out of her mouth made me burst into laughter. Plus there will be an appearance from one of our old douche loves. If like me you enjoy super fun reads with sexy hot romance, this book it’s for you. I’m already desperate for the next one on this series. *** I voluntarily read and review an advance copy of this book.

I love the Douchebag series, however this one didn't "wow" me like the other ones did. And I truly hate that - I really do. I cringed rating this book because I wanted it to be so much more. One of the things I enjoy about this series is that each book is very simple - nothing is ever overly dramatic and I expect that because it is college-based and most of them are still trying to figure out what they want to do in life; they're still learning, bumbling through life. However, this book was a little too simple for me. I really didn't care for Skylar - she was meh for me. I normally love when the characters are normal, girl next door, average, etc - however Skylar was a little too blasé for me. Abe was your normal wrestler - not the big dog of the team but still did well. Again, he was just ok. Nothing really stood except he was super sweet and didn't jump from bed to bed.The plot was cute and one thing that I did enjoy was that the characters handled the issues maturely and didn't pout or whine for too long over the issues. However, the whole book truly only took place over a few weeks and I just felt that was too short for their to be any real meat to the story. The epilogue is three months later after the make-up and now we're onto the next book. WHAT?!?! I wanted more from these two! I wanted to see how Abe's douchebag roommate acted around these them; I wanted to see how Skylar put him in his place after his actions; I wanted to see Skylar's roommate (whom I love!) give more of her lovely advice; I wanted MORE!!Overall, it was just an ok read for me. I hate that I cannot rate this book higher. I love the humor but that came from the secondary characters and I just felt like this book could have been so much better. It's not going to stop me from reading more in this series but it's definitely not one of my faves.

Will he lose out on the chance to be with the girl of his dreams? In all, I absolutely loved The Lying Hours! Once again, Sara Ney has masterfully written a story that will have you rolling with fits of laughter one moment and swooning hard the next. Abe and Skylar were both so awkward, but funny, charming and sexy as well. The characters were so endearing and I fell head over heels in love. And getting to see Zeke again... *dreamy sigh* Readers, you need this book in your life. When this goes live, make sure to one-click immediately. I can promise you, it's worth every penny you spend.

I liked this new book, but for me it was just ok. In my opinion, the story was more about a failed bromance between the hero & his roommate/teammate, than an actual love story w/ the heroine. Abe had more issues about his friendships and lifestyle that it could actually be addressed in this story, also, in my eyes there were some serious subjects touched here and the overall light easy tone was quite off for my enjoyment. Maybe I'm growing serious and judgey, but the lighthearted promiscuity I liked this new book, but for me it was just ok. Maybe I'm growing serious and judgey, but the lighthearted promiscuity being portrayed as college-normal really worries me. Too many public space sex jokes and actual sex references in dialogue with others beside the main couple has become a turn-off for me. Also, the main trope (about the hero writing the dating-app messages for his roommate) was shown here as a serial occurrence going on for long (not a one-time-thing), which is not only a harmless lie, or college-guy shady... it crosses right into "procurement" territory and it is just not funny. I got the general idea the girl and the guy liked eachother and were hot for one another... but for me, they did not get to develop anything in their relationship... so their hot sex was actually lacking (for a romance novel/novella), because it did not reflect pent-up feelings, or actually any deeper affection or complex set of emotions... they were both feeling really good going at eachother, but there was nothing behind that that I could see...(unlike w/ Zeke & Violet, in their own book, where the deep affection and tenderness just killed me!!).
