More Than Pleasure You (More Than Words, #5.5)
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shayla Black comes a new story in her More Than Words series… Can I convince her our hot but temporary engagement should last forever? I’m Stephen Lund, confirmed bachelor…and son of a successful billionaire whose sins I can’t forget—or forgive. After he delivered an ultimatum to either get over his transgressions or get out of the family business, I put space between us with a temporary getaway to Maui. My rental’s sexy caretaker, Skye Ingram, is a beautiful distraction. Yeah, it’s a terrible time to start a fling, but I can’t help wanting to give her every bit of pleasure she’s willing to take. When Skye needs a date to her ex-boyfriend’s wedding, I’m game to play her pretend fiancé. The jerk should see what he passed up…and that I’m holding her now. But our pretend engagement begins to feel real. Our passion certainly is. So are the consequences. When I’m confronted with the reality that our lives are now irrevocably entwined, I have to choose between leaving Skye to return to the life—and wealth—I’ve always known or abandoning everything familiar to start over with the woman who awakened my heart. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

As both a reader and an author, I LOVE male-centric romances. Start off in the hero's POV, and I'm in. In More Than Pleasure You, Shayla Black not only starts the book in the hero's POV, but she stays there almost until the end. LOVE THAT! What a great, sexy, sweet story from an author I adore.

The title makes me think of what everyone always says, 'it's my pleasure', but this time it was more than, in all the best ways. The instant lust between them made having to 'fake it' laughable. There was no effort involved in their PDA, trust me.I really enjoyed this latest installment in the 1001 Dark Nights series. Of course, it was the author's name on the cover that drew me in, but it was the story that kept me entertained until the end. It's a wonderful way to get a taste of a new-to-you author's work or to get a little extra from a favorite author you already follow.

While the super rich Stephen is on vacation in Hawaii, he meets Skye. The attraction is instantly obvious, and they end up in an interesting situation. Stephen agrees to pose as Skye's fiancee for her ex's wedding. What begins as a farce, soon begins to feel like something real. Will Stephen stay in Hawaii or go back to a life of wealth and privilege? I loved reading about these characters. Stephen and Skye are an adorable couple with so much potential. They are easy to like, relatable and entertaining with excellent witty banter between them. This story was fun to read, and I definitely want to read more of Shayla Black's work. If you are a fan of 1001 Dark Nights or are interested in the collection, this is a great place to start!

I don’t think I’ve ever met a Shayla Black book I did not devour and love! LOL Seriously! I mean maybe there’s like one, but this woman just knows how to do the delicious sexy even when it’s a short story! Not only were Stephen and Skye irresistible as characters but so was their story! I was in it to win it! I couldn’t wait to read how their fake engagement would play out. Sparks were flying! The transition from insta to forever real was just seamless! More Than Pleasure You is a novella in the More Than Words series by Shayla Black. It can be read as stand-alone, but I am sure that the readers of the series will appreciate the mention of Nia from More Than Crave You. The blurb covers up pretty well what happens in the book, so I am not going to expand on that. I liked most of the story and the main characters, but I didn't like the conflict that drove them apart. It felt forced and unnatural to me and was my least favorite part of the book. More Than Pleasure You is a novella in the More Than Words series by Shayla Black. Flawless. Absolutely flawless. But I don't know why I am surprised. This is Shayla Black, and her words are pure gold. She could literally write anything and have people hanging off her every word. She did just that with More Than Pleasure You. This is part of a series of books in the More Than Words series and also a short 1,001 Dark Knights novella. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend this series. It's one of my all-time favorites. Skye's invited to her ex's wedding, and she Flawless. Absolutely flawless. But I don't know why I am surprised. This is Shayla Black, and her words are pure gold. It's one of my all-time favorites. Skye's invited to her ex's wedding, and she doesn't want to go alone, she doesn't want to appear as single to Finn's mother. The groom's mother is convinced that they belong together, but the thing is, the ex-mother in law doesn't realize that they've only ever truly been friends and nothing more. These two get along fine and Skye actually loves the girl Finn is marrying. So when an insanely attractive man overhears a convo Skye is having, he can't help but offers to step in as a fake fiance... Why wouldn't she agree to it? It may actually get the ex-mother in law off her back. Stephen moved to Hawaii for a mini-vacation, which he doesn't do often. He's always so busy at his father's firm and now that he's being prepped to take over, it just keeps getting busier, but he took time for himself to figure out what he wants in HIS life, among a few other reasons. With very little time to prepare for this wedding and this lie they'll be living and to make it believable, are they able to? Will everyone be convinced that Stephan and Skye are are to be married? Will the mother inlaw? Are they able to keep in professional and strictly business or will the spark between these two ignite, leaving them to fall in love for real? These two had crazy insane chemistry, and the sexual tension is pulsating around them. They are attracted to each other, and they try and stick to the deal they've made. But are they able to? Or is the attraction and desire they have for one another just too strong. I love love love this story! It was fun, and short and packed with heat and steaminess and so much more. The characters were fun, and the plot was mildly paced and as always Ms. Black's style of writing flowed perfectly, making it easy to fall in love with the story and the characters. It was the perfect novella and I hope to see more of these two! As always, Shayla Black delivered an outstanding, deliciously hot, fun and addictive plot that had me hanging off every word. She never disappoints!6/5 Stars!

The characters are strong, compelling and easily captures readers by the heart as some heavy duty emotional turmoil flows from the pages. One believes the other is too good to be true and the other is a workaholic, so when trouble strikes it’s obvious to Skye that she needs to kick Stephen to the curb and handle things on her own, no matter how much it hurts. Suspense builds as the reader wonder if this couple will be able to overcome their differences and reach their happily ever after. The story is on the fast side as it is a short one but this story hits right in the heart as the author brings these characters to vivid life and the conclusion to this passionate and sweet romance is so very swoon worthy.

I definitely think that you can read this as a standalone, but really you will want to go back to the beginning and enjoy them all if you have the time!Stephen Lund is all about business, and even his time on Maui is supposedly to try and purchase the property he is staying in for a client. When he meets his housekeeper, Skye, he finds himself suggesting that he be her fake fiancé to help her out at a wedding. Truly Finn's mother is the worst nightmare one could ever imagine - and really should be taken to task for her terrible attitude ... but I digress!Obviously the chemistry between the two of them causes them to throw caution to the wind, and give into the feelings and the lust that they need to explore. Somehow though Stephen needs to be honest about why he is there, as well as work out how on earth his work life, and his love life could ever balance. Thankfully when it all gets rather messy, the Reeds and their other halves are there to help get them the HEA they want and deserve. Super sexy, lots of fun and the sunshine of Maui warms the pages along with the passion!

Quick read in the More than Words series and 1001 Dark Nights world. Stephen and Skye were so great together. The chemistry between them was so hot. I’m a huge fan of Shayla Black’s More Than Words series, so any chance I get to dive back into this world is, for sure, one I can’t pass up. More Than Pleasure You is a fitting title for Stephen Lund and Skye Ingram’s story because, at first, that’s exactly what these two coming together is for - pleasure - both the giving and receiving of it. And while it might not be the best time for them to act on their crazy chemistry and mutual attraction, but the body wants what the body wants, so they embark on a vacation fling that turns into something so much more than they ever expected, which is both a blessing and a curse because not only do they live in very different worlds, but both may ultimately be giving up a huge part of their respective worlds, and what that means for this fake engaged couple who are starting to have real feelings for each other is nothing good. Even though Stephen and Skye’s story was only a novella, there is a large amount of conflict and issues that have to be worked through, and while it’s necessary for the hero and heroine to endure some complications along the way, I feel like these two were up against too much, both individually and then as they pretended to be engaged and started developing real feelings for each other. There is only so much a new couple can take, and with the outside interferences as well as personal points of contention, I felt like the focus was a bit too much on the issues instead of what’s happening between the two of them.Overall, I enjoyed More Than Pleasure You; I liked the multiple meanings at play with the title for the hero and the heroine and finding out just what they’re willing to do to keep things ‘pleasurable’ between them when things go from simply reveling in the pleasure that they give each other to figuring out if more pleasure comes with continuing their relationship on their terms and no one else’s. 4 Poison Apples

I loved Shayla Black's "More Than Pleasure You." This novella was sweet and steamy all at once, and featured wonderful main characters who were very well-developed for such a short story. I especially liked that so much of the narration was from Stephen, the male lead's, point of view. So many of the stories I read are told only from the female lead's perspective, so this was a refreshing change, and I enjoyed being able to see so much of what was going on inside the male lead's head. Stephen was clearly at a crossroads in his life, but he happened to meet the perfect girl for him at just the right time, and his growing relationship with her helped him work through his family and career issues and choose a new, happier lifestyle for himself.Skye, the female lead character, was also pretty great. She was obviously a very caring person who went out of her way to take care of her elderly employers and tried to help others through massage therapy. It was easy for me to see why her ex-boyfriend's mother wanted her so badly for a daughter-in-law! (No slight intended to her actual daughter-in-law, who also seemed like a very nice, caring person.)This novella stood well on its own, though some of the secondary characters that made appearances had clearly been featured in previous books in the More Than Words series. I didn't feel lost even though I have not read any of the other books in the series (or, for that matter, any of Ms. Black's previous books). I really enjoyed this story, however, and will definitely plan to go back and read the rest of the series now.Overall, I highly recommend "More Than Pleasure You" for both new and existing Shayla Black readers. I read the whole story in one sitting and thought it was time very well spent. :-)*ARC provided by the author and/or publisher via InkslingerPR. All opinions expressed are my own.

More Than Pleasure YouThis short novella follows all the best parts of the More Than Series in a very quick and to the point way. I truly loved everything about Stephen and Skye’s story! This book also gave us much more insight into the crazy mixed up “family” that is quickly taking up residence in Hawaii. I can’t wait to read more from this series - well, I hope there is more!! I can’t wait to read more from this series - well, I hope there is more!! Here’s a synopsis of the book -Can I convince her our hot but temporary engagement should last forever?I’m Stephen Lund, confirmed bachelor…and son of a successful billionaire whose sins I can’t forget—or forgive. Though he insisted I get over his transgressions, I can’t. So I put space between us with a temporary getaway to Maui. This story happens between books 5 & 6, so 5.5. And even though it’s short I gave it 5 stars because it’s just that good!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love the 1001 Dark Nights series of novellas. He has family issues that are part of his reason for being in Hawaii, his half sister lives here and he intends to get to know her better. This is a fun read with many twists and turns as these two find themselves wanting more. It's slow building romance with just the right amount of heat.I have to figure out what book in this series gives Stephen his concussion. The series is now a must read.

However, the more they are together, their feelings change and what began as pretend is beginning to feel real. The chemistry between them is incendiary, which leads to some steamy scenes and some unexpected twists. Can these two find their way to a happily ever after or are there too many flies in the ointment? Once again Shayla Black demonstrates her artistry when it comes to penning her books. This is one short story that is packed full with drama, fun and a whole lot of heat that will keep any reader in his/her seat. Written as a novella for 1,001 Dark Nights, she includes many beloved characters from her More Than Words Series that I recommend reading first although this work can be read as a standalone. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

The characters were very "real life" like, which made the story that much better!!

Her ex and his family wanting them to be together, the things he is dealing with regarding his father, and a bit of a surprise that ends up changing everything for them.I struggled a little with this one. I think there was too much going on for me to fully feel that I was engaged in the relationship. And, once I was finally really feeling connected, something else was added into the relationship. For a novella to really work for me, I need to be able to feel fully invested in the characters even though it is a shorter story. I never quite got to this point...although, that said, I did still enjoy this title and I recommend it.

MORE THAN PLEASURE YOU by Shayla Black is book 5.5 in the More Than Words series. This is Stephen Lund and Skye Ingram's story. Stephen is in Maui to look at a potential property for a clientwhen he eavesdrops into Skye’s conversation about needing a fake fiancée for her ex’s weddingto get his (her ex) mother to quit her harrassment. Stephen is intrigued so he volunteered his services. What starts out as fake slowly develops into something more tangible and deep. But Stephen hasn't exactly been upfront about his whole reason for being in Hawaii. Will Skye be able to get past his secrets and deception? Or will that be a death knell for their relationship? This novella is short but definitely jam packed full of feels, steam, drama, angst, misunderstandings, secrets, romance and love. I enjoyed the characters, awesome plot and swoon-worthy moments that this read gives. Ms. Black writes emotions that will have you rooting for the HEA this story giveth. Stephen and Skye are sizzling full of feels and steam! Loved the chemistry between them and the amazing ending. My Rating: 4.7 stars *******

I love that Ms. Black gets deep into the minds and emotions of both Stephen and Skye. Yet they are fun together and the banter they share is remarkable. It was highly enjoyable to see Stephen and Skye figure it out.
