Dedicated (Rhythm of Love, #1)
“Our greatest hit is a love song I wrote for my bandmate. And he has no idea.”Messy-haired, soulful-eyed, off-kilter lyricist Les Graves holds tight to the hedonist’s credo of consumption in every avenue of life. He has trouble staying still, trouble staying sober, trouble turning down a good time—but put a pen in his hand, and he’ll set a page on fire.Music was Evan Porter’s ticket out of the backwater mud puddle he was born in, the passion keeping him warm as he busked on street corners, fueling him through a dead-end bartending job. Every chord, every song, every ounce of sweat has been devoted to making Porter & Graves a success. He’s the level-head, the quiet maestro, the seatbelt that keeps Les from flying too far out of control. And he’s getting pretty tired of playing savior.Their chemistry onstage is electric, but offstage it’s another story.Angst, snark, and nuclear levels of unresolved sexual tension combust in this tale of two rockers, a handful of secrets, a bombed album, and a publicity nightmare thrown in a remote cabin with one shot at redemption. Can Evan and Les find harmony or will they—and their music career—go down in flames?Dedicated is a 92k standalone bisexual friends-to-lovers romance that also plays on the fake relationship trope, contains a cockblocking greenhouse, really poor decisions involving social media, and a borderline over-the-top HEA.*Please note: This book contains reference to and depiction of a MMF scene*

I need a connection. Four years ago Porter & Graves released their first album, and has released two more after that. However, the third one, bombed, and the band is contracted for one more album. The pressure is high. Then there's the fact that Les has a secret crush on Evan, that things has been stressed between the two of them since 6 months ago and now they have to fake a relationship as a public stunt. For Les, this is a dream come true, for Evan, not so much. Overall, I had too high expectations, I guess and it didn't live up to it at all. Cheers and catcalls rushed us like a wave breaking against the shoreline, engulfing us in a cocoon of wild energy. It had amplitude and emotion and was as addictive as anything I’d ever put into my body. It was energy exchange back and forth, an intimate conversation on another level between my soul and the hundreds in the crowd before us. I loved the feeling of connection, and I didn’t think I’d ever get tired of this moment. And I’d never get tired of sharing it with the man beside me. I hoped Evan was right about the fans not giving up on us. But more than that, I hoped Evan didn’t give up on me. Other Characters:→ Leigh, Evan's girlfriend, who he started dating in the last 5 months ago even though they've known each other for years (she shot Porter & Graves first show). She's a photographer. (view spoiler)[At 25%, she broke up with him. (hide spoiler)]→ Jimmy, Porter & Graves' driver.→ Mars, Porter & Graves' tour manager.→ Blink, Porter & Graves' front-of-house engineer.→ Jared, Porter & Graves' instrument tech.→ Rick, Porter & Graves' roadie.→ Levi, Porter & Graves' publicist.→ Byron, Porter & Graves' manager.→ Adam Slade, a reporter.→ Daniel ‘Dan’ Grim (about 15 years older than Les), owner of Grim’s Record Repository in Nashville (one of the few stalwarts left).→ Owen, works for Daniel?→ Maize, a fan of sorts of the band? Les helped her at their concert once.→ Ella, the girl Les and Evan had a threesome with.→ Rita, Even's PA going on two years, though she is technically his housekeeper. “Don’t baby me.” My voice came out muffled by the comforter, and I turned my head, craning a look back at him, the dark swathe of his hair shadowing his face, the full lips and tensile strength of his hands gripping me. “I don’t want to be babied. Fuck me the way you fuck everyone else.”I caught his smoldering gaze flickering over me a second before I lowered my head to the bed again.“I can’t, Ev,” he said softly, “You’re not everyone else.” Quick basic facts:Genre: - (Adult) Contemporary Romance (M/M).Series: - Series, Book One.Love triangle? - (view spoiler)[No. (hide spoiler)]Cheating? - (view spoiler)[No. (hide spoiler)]HEA? - (view spoiler)[Yes. Les was a bit of a mess, he let the fame and $ get to his head, and has made some bad choices, despite being super smart. He was also in love with Evan, but afraid to do anything about it. Evan was tired of being his babysitter, but could acknowledge his part in their distance. I was curious how these two would finally come together and repair the relationship to make things work. I was not disappointed. Things are not smooth sailing, but in the end, you can feel the love and believe they belong together. *ARC provided by LesCourt services

Evan and Les make amazing music together in more ways than one. At the end of their third tour, days before locking themselves in a cabin to bang out their next album, Dedicated takes us on a slow-burn bromance journey. Les is notorious for drugs, drinking, sex, and rock and roll, putting it all out there for the public at large. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, not caring what others think. Whereas Evan is the complete opposite. He's reserved, introverted, and beyond private. It's a delicate balance that somehow works. Sparks fly, banter is slung, gut-punch moments had me sucking in a deep breath as the emotions resonated within me, and the sexual tension was off the charts smoking hot. Their relationship was real and raw, even with all the duplicity surrounding them. Not going to lie, I spent the entire day with my nose buried in my Kindle, eagerly tapping the pages and ignoring life, from page one until the end. The only reason I'm passing out 4 instead of 5 stars is simply pacing, as the book felt a bit longer, causing some scenes to feel redundant. There's a disclaimer at the start of the book about a not too in-depth MFM scene that was pivotal to the plot and character building. While I don't need such a warning, some might. There are mentions and brief showings of MF interactions, but the scene in question was built up over a large portion of the novel, and the payoff was well worth the wait. It was actually my favorite scene in the entire novel, Les and Evan completely overshadowing the woman in their threesome. I may or may not had a palm hiding my face, since my family kept coming in and out of the living room when I was reading the scene in question, and I was a bit hot and bothered and highly entertained. Both Les and Evan identify with being bisexual, but I do need add that Evan comes off as more of a demisexual, since he can't wrap his mind around lust when it isn't with someone he is emotionally connected with. Highly recommend to those who enjoy the plot devices I listed above, and I cannot wait to check out what else the author has published.

This book was well written and edited but wow, did it feel overly long. I had a hard time with this romance because I never felt that Evan was really passionate about Les. It felt so much more partner/friend/brotherly and when the sex scenes started they just weren't convincing. Even the flashback to the threesome seemed more uncomfortable and reluctant than sexy and lust driven. The most convincing they got was when Evan absently played with Les' hair at a drum circle/bonfire. I thought I could This book was well written and edited but wow, did it feel overly long. Sprinkle in some hilarious banter and humor, plus some panty melting heat and you have gold baby.Bandmates Les and Evan are two of the best multilayered characters I have ever read about. The type of characters who seep into your soul.Their push pull relationship was like a tantalizing slow dance. I could actually feel the air around them crackle with with chemistry. I was completely addicted and consumed with their tremulous journey. After having much success and multiple hits, the partnership between Les Graves & Evan Porter was strained and awkward. A bombed album and an eye opening threesome had Les and Evan out of sync... They needed to find there way back or move on from each other. But how would they navigate their serets and very intense hidden feeings??? Their lingering stares and arousing touches had me begging for more....Les and Evan are complete opposite in nature. It should have had them breaking up long ago, not connecting on and off the stage. Les is the emotional, hedonistic bad boy in the band. He's all about sex, drugs and rock n roll. While Evan is logical, reserved and straight laced. He's the businessman of the duo. Put these two together, you get MAGIC and some frustration! I'm sure most people would say they loved Les more, but I loved Evan just as much. They were both special in their own way. Neve wrote them with such depth, I felt like I truly got to know them personally. As their relationship unfolded, I hung on every word. I fell madly in love with them, this book and Neve Wilder's writing!

It’s no secret that I love this author’s writing, from the Extracurricular Activities series to her first full length novel, Center of Gravity, I’ve been hooked. It’s angsty, gritty, funny and it just drew me in from the off.I particularly liked that it was set in the do-or-die business of the music industry, where we got a behind the scenes peek into the performing, recording and selling of their art. First of all, I adored how awkward Les and Evan were with each other; those hot, strained moments bubbling with the undercurrent of want that they were both trying to ignore - to no avail. It’s these tense interactions which hooked me and made the story for me. The author has such a way of interpreting their feelings and giving such a vivid description of what each character’s about and what motivates them. Their journey is not an easy one and they’re quite different personalities; Les is almost Layne Staley to Evan’s Eddie Vedder, and they have a fair few obstacles along the way to overcome, but the common denominator is the unrequited love between them. Will that win out? You’ll have to read this remarkable story to find out, but trust me; get on this ride, you’re gonna love it!So many adjectives I could use for this book; soulful, dirty, gripping, honest and most of all, it’s full of heart and it brought every emotion to the fore. I’m stone cold in love with this author’s writing and desperate for more.Review Copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMG Reads.

I saw a Bookbub ad for this title, and the idea of one of the characters having written his greatest hit for his bandmate who he's secretly in love with immediately drew me in. That's what it was like with this book. I absolutely ate it up! I loved the characters, my favorite being Les. Gah, I just ADORE him. He and Evan are fleshed out so well. I felt like I knew them so well, and I found I didn't want the book to end because I just wanted to keep getting to know them and seeing them in all these situations. When they were upset, I was upset. When they were happy, I was happy. When they were heartbroken, I was heartbroken. I could feel the tension between them during the ups and downs as if it were my own. But Les - gah, he just got me in the feels with all the sweet little thoughtful things he'd do for Evan. Oh, and I also love how the characters had their flaws and weaknesses, too, since that made them more real. I also loved the mystery surrounding what went down to put their friendship on thin ice and how the author slowly revealed that backstory little by little. And the slow-burn romance was wonderful. I prefer slow-burns and this one definitely fit the bill. But holy cow - can we talk about the author's writing style? It's an absolute dream! Her metaphors and similes were so refreshingly unique, and I loved sinking into her beautiful prose. I seriously cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I would honestly read 10 books just about Les and Evan, though I think the other books will be about minor characters. Still, I hope Les and Evan make plenty of cameos because they've stolen my heart!

This book focuses on front-man and lyricist, Les Graves, and guitar player and song-writer/composer, Evan Porter in their band Porter & Graves. The first part of the book skips between the past and the present from both of their points of view. It shows how they met and started songwriting together and how their music and chemistry flows on stage. However, their last album didn’t do all that well, they aren’t communicating off stage, and neither of them can figure out how to fix it. When they finally get to take some time off at a cabin in the mountains, neither can get away from the memories of the last time they were there and what changed their relationship initially. “There was a lot about Les that was almost fae; he loved everything bright and scintillating.”This book is the perfect mix of love, friendship, and angst with a slow burn friends to lovers theme. There’s the PR stunt / fake boyfriend thing that goes completely sideways, someone released an article about their love lives, Evan is extremely private, Les puts it all out there, and there are so many secrets between the two of them that it could cause the band to break up or one of them to go even more off the rails. Even though they are famous musicians, they have real world problems that have to be overcome to get their HEA. On a side note: I’m really glad to see that the author has an accurate knowledge of the geography they are writing most of the story within – Gatlinburg specifically. Specifically mentioning the wildfires from a few years ago and about some of the cabins that people have been traveling to for years no longer standing.

But... not so fast, not so easy. The connection and chemestry between Les and Evan is undeniable from the beggining, and it is awesome to see how they work their problems and issues along the book, trying to “fix” the relashionship – not only as bandmantes, but as frieds most of all, discovering what they really mean too one another. The flashbacks chapters were nice too, it wasn’t “out of place” or “too much” in the sotory; Just matched and fited perfecly . This one is definitely a slow dance between the two band-mates and best friends, Evan and Les. The two usually work so synergistically together on their music that when their third album seems to be less successful and the tour ends with a splat rather than a bang, the two try to get back in the groove. However, a tell-all by a girl about a one-night threesome with the pair blows the lid off their true feelings for each other as she reveals some very intimate details, making Evan very uncomfortable since he's been very discrete about his private life until then. Their publicist asks them to spin it by faking a relationship and they both decide to play along and stage some carefully pre-arranged paparazzi shots to capture some moments of their coupledom.Les has been in love with Evan since they first met (just about) and he's gotten used to hiding his true feelings from him, so faking the relationship appears to be both a blessing and a curse. When more truths come to light, it all blows up in their faces and Les melts down in spectacular fashion in Vegas. Can Les get his act back together when he completes a stint in rehab? Can Evan forgive him for all the hidden truths that are emerging from the shadows of their past? I recommend you read for yourself and see if the boys can find their Happily Ever After. A great read for MM contemporary romance lovers everywhere.

The chemistry between Evan and Les was extremely well done and hovering in the background, even at the first introduction. Don't misunderstand, this story isn't all sexy times! I would actually consider it more of a slow burn but the sexual tension is there and it grips you early on! This couple have a friendship that holds them together, even though it's strained, and they each struggle with personal issues and what they want when their relationship hits a new path. Their story was angsty, full of feelings and so hot! I couldn't stop reading it and I know this will go in my "will reread" pile! Highly recommend!I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am happy to voluntarily leave my review

Neve Wilder's Dedicated is one of those books I fall into immediately, enjoy every single second of, and wish would never end. This book has a feel that immediately drew me in, hook, line, and sinker. Of course, I was excited by the story, as it's two band mates, two great friends, who suddenly are broken by a disconnect, an inability to communicate, and extremely repressed feelings for each other. The best part of this book, however, is the execution. I would be happy if every book I opened gave me the feelings this one does. I loved the pain, the hurt, and the jealousy. The sexual tension is palpable. It's an extraordinary journey of two men trying to figure out their feelings for each other. If you like rockers, or a slow burn, yet intense romance, read Dedicated. Neve Wilder delivers with the first book in her Rhythm Of Love series. I can't wait for the next book!

This is another amazing story by Neve Wilder and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I was fully engaged from the very first page and I could not put it down. This book made me feel like I was on a rollercoaster with dizzying highs and gut wrenching lows and I loved every minute of it. Les and Evan are very complex and different individuals who work seamlessly together when it comes to their music but add in a more personal relationship and all hell breaks loose. Les is out of control and if he continues the way he is going he risks losing everything. Evan has almost reached his breaking point with Les but he doesn't want to give up on him. Their lack of communication about the big issues in their lives is one of the biggest obstacles they are facing. I love the ups and downs in their relationship and how they are resolved. The secondary characters are great and I hope that Blink will get his own story. The ending is perfect and I can't wait to read the next book in this fabulous new series.I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This book had me hooked form the first pages. The sexual tension between Les and Evan is evident and we get small glimpses of something that happened between a while ago.Les and Evan are band mates and friends and each others polar opposites. They need a new album to top the charts since the last one didn't go as well as expected and now they have to pretend to be in a relationship to get the numbers up.What Even doesn't know is that Les has been in love with him for a long time and that the memories from their one night together with a woman will make him want more than friendship from Les.I love this book!!The rock stars, friends to lovers, fake relationship theme is so good and the sexual tension and attraction between Les and Evan is just jumping off the pages.

4.5 stars! I absolutely loved it and read it one sitting!! A seriously slow burn, friends to lovers romance between 2 seriously sexy musicians. Les and Evan’s journey is not an easy one. One night changed their lives and relationship significantly and from there, these boys undergo a lot of self discovery as they figure out their future as musicians and possibly lovers. Opposites in so many ways and both fighting their internal struggles with personal history and fame, it’s the music they create 4.5 stars! I absolutely loved it and read it one sitting!! Opposites in so many ways and both fighting their internal struggles with personal history and fame, it’s the music they create that brings them together on a much deeper level. While both are bi, Evan leans more towards demi-sexual which further adds vulnerability to the delicate balance of their relationship. Although fairly new to the scene, Neve has quickly become an auto buy author for me. I am a big fan of her mature, fluid, writing style and her ability to bring out a myriad of emotions from me. One minute I am in angst hell and the next I’m laughing out loud, and I love every second of it! LOL

Neve is a new author for me so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from this book but I fell in love with Evan and Les pretty much straight away. The pair could not be more different, Evan is level headed and Les is living the wild rock and roll lifestyle. They have always been a great team, that is up until 6 months ago. Evan is gun shy about pursuing a real relationship with Les thanks to his reputation and Les has been pining after Evan for years. Nothing seems to be plain sailing for this couple.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be reading more from this author.

I liked Dedicated as much as Center of Gravity" if not more. Neve Wilder's beautiful prose captivated me, just as it did in Center of Gravity. Les and Evan, musicians who've been playing together for years, have hit a slump and are looking to recapture the magic of their early music. They succeed, but how they get there is quite the ride, one I read twice, back-to-back. (I received an ARC.) It's revealed in flashbacks and through the memories of both MCs, so it's in more than one chapter. If you truly cannot stand lady bits in your romance, then keep that in mind, but if you skip this book because of those scenes, you're only cheating yourself, in my opinion.have such a book hangover now.

This was a great book. Les and Evan had such an up and down relationship. Les hid his feelings for Evan behind snark, drugs, alcohol, and sex with just about anyone who showed an interest. Meanwhile, Evan just refused to recognize his own mixed up feelings for Les. I liked these guys a lot, and I wanted them to find a way to end up together, though it was clear to see that it wouldn't be an easy road. I especially loved the moments when they were completely open with each other, not hiding their true feelings and thoughts. And, after a long and winding road, I'm still smiling from the ending. Very nice!

Les and Evan have been band mates and friends for years. After a night together with a woman, she decides to go public with details for them and throw them into a publicity nightmare. I love friends to lovers books, and the fake relationship aspect here was pretty cool. I liked that it was a bit different, because most books have the rocker MC's hide who they are rather than go public, so that was refreshing. A bit too angsty for my liking, but I knew that going in so it wasn't a deal breaker. I Les and Evan have been band mates and friends for years.
