To Trust a Bear (Lumberjack Bears, #3)
Callie Stone believes that 2500 miles is about the right distance to keep between herself and Morgan Moreno, the cheating jerk who stole her heart and then stomped all over it a decade ago. Morgan’s little gang of rogue bears has been getting up to trouble, though, and Callie’s father, the leader of her idyllic Alaskan community of bear shifters, wants Callie to bring Morgan’s group back to the fold before they ruin things for bears everywhere. The trouble is, the longer Callie hangs out with Morgan and his friends, the more she comes to doubt her upbringing—and even her belief that Morgan cheated on her. Her bond to Morgan grows by the day, and the reasons not to trust in his love for her keep turning to mist and blowing away. As everything she always thought important gets turned on its head, Callie must figure out who to trust and how to earn the trust of those she has inadvertently hurt. Especially Morgan.

In To Trust a Bear we get to meet Morgan’s mate and learn about the Den. It turns out Morgan’s mate is the daughter of the leader of the Den and he has some serious control issues. Callie’s father’s lies have kept them apart for nine years but now they have a second chance. The story is filled with action and lots of interesting subplots. Morgan and Callie are a great couple and Aimee was a fantastic addition to the series. Callisto Stone immediately hung up the phone when she heard Morgan Moreno’s voice. He called again and her bear urged her to answer, despite her wanting nothing more to ever do with Morgan. When the phone rang again, she growled into it – but it was her father this time. Callie was a midwife, so he asked her to check out a bear couple with a child on the way, and to make sure the woman moved to town for care. Her father’s discomfort let her know this was somehow related to Morgan, and it turned Callisto Stone immediately hung up the phone when she heard Morgan Moreno’s voice. Her father’s discomfort let her know this was somehow related to Morgan, and it turned out this was his cousin’s mate who was pregnant. Morgan and Callie had been best friends in childhood. Morgan and she were mates and they were in love, but suddenly she screamed at him and told him to leave. He still had no idea why. Now she was coming to his mountain to follow the rule that pregnant females had to go to the Den, the small town where Callie lived. The mother would be cared for, then her child was taken from her and raised at the Den while the mother went back to her own home. It was an ancient practice, outdated, and not necessarily successful. Morgan knew Boomer and Emmy would not be okay with this. Emmy especially would not accept this method of child-rearing. She was a turned human and this was nothing she would tolerate. Callie tried to tell her it was totally for the good of the child, but no one accepted that argument. Morgan and his family had been raised that way and it didn’t work, and Callie found that she had no real argument to make it sound like the right thing to do. To Emmy, family was everything and she would never let the Den break up her family. As Callie spent time with the others, her thoughts were being challenged over and over. And her feelings for Morgan were driving her crazy. When tricked at a carnival to ride the Ferris Wheel, Morgan kissed her and she was filled with confusion and ran away from him when the ride ended. Aimee had told him Callie thought he had cheated on her 9 years ago – he hadn’t. Callie thought about who told her about his cheating with humans – her father. Could she ever trust Morgan again? Did her father lie to her? Even Aimee had told her that the Den was a cult and her father was its leader. Could she break away? And what kind of retaliation would they have to endure? This was a wonderful book, showing a true love that was ended with lies. The emotional rollercoaster was vivid, yet not uncomfortable, as the reader kept hoping for the truth to come out. Grab your copy of this perfectly-paced story and see if there is still hope that things can turn out right. Great characters you’ll enjoy knowing. Aimee, Callie’s otter friend, is a treasure!

He had left when she turned her back on him and ordered him away. Now, he might have a chance to find out what had made her do it. The action is swift, decisive, moves the plot along. The plot itself is a study in human growth and understanding. This is the best of a very good series so far. It can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading them in order so you don't give away any of the secrets in the others. This book does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the surprises for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Callie was always told that to keep Bear Shifters safe they needed to remain in The Den. Morgan has thought for years that he would live out his life alone after his mate pushed him away. Callie's world is about to be turned upside down. Will Callie realize the truth? Will Morgan be able to keep his mate and friends safe? Was definitely excited to see another Lumberjack Bears book. I loved how Morgan was determined to do what was best for Callie and wasn't willing to give up on love. Great read!

I love this series. I did not like Callie when I first started reading. She felt like a spoiled little rich girl. She said she loved Morgan, but when it mattered she turned her back on him. After everything he still defended and protected her. Her best friend, Aimee, was so cute and funny, not to mention brave and fierce. Callie matured so much during her time with the lumberjack bears and their mates. This book is action packed with danger lurking everywhere. I was not disappointed and recommen I love this series. I adore this series. The way that the big growly bears all turn into teddy bears where their mates are concerned but mess with them and their vicious claws and teeth will come into play.I loved this book. The way that we finally learn why Morgan is such a grumpy bear - and why he's so haunted. I absolutely love the characters and the storyline. I'm not gonna give anything away but I cheered at the way Richard Stone left Callie's life. The way that we continue to catch up with the rest of the crew I adore this series. This is Morgan and Callie's story and it is great! way more intense than the previous 2 but just as good! The action is dramatic and the romance hot and a lot of angst thrown in!The Den tries to interfere in the lives of the lumberjacks and the new bears by sending Callie to do their bidding but she finds a loving family and her lost love! This ensures that sparks fly and the drama flows.A great read and I'm looking forward to the next in the seriesI received this as an ARC copy and am leaving m This is Morgan and Callie's story and it is great! way more intense than the previous 2 but just as good! Another great book in this series. Morgan is such an intense, protective character, and you can’t help but love him. The storyline in this book is well written and allows for further expansion in following ones. The attraction between Morgan and Callie is off the charts, but circumstances from their past are threatening to keep them apart. This is a book you cannot put down once started. Second chance at love!So so good! I'm love this series and with each book it gets better. Learning more about the crew and the history of these shifters. Morgan was so sweet and so protected of his family. Callie was lost and unsure of what was real in her life. This gs are not always what they seem and sometimes those closest to you can host you the most. But Callie followed her instincts in the end and found her second chance at love. What a great read, I can't wait to see who's next.
