Blackbird #3 (Blackbird, #3)
Nina thought magic was just cool spells and hot guys. But magic turned out to be so much more. Don’t miss this issue’s heartbreaking cliffhanger!

I, kind of, had already guessed this twist of story. But it was presented in a different way. (view spoiler)[ Her mother is alive. I knew it. Also, that her mother must be a magical being too. (hide spoiler)] Anyway, liked the action scenes. But still, for the 3rd issue, the story isn’t opening up that much.

I didn't like the love interest and I need the sequel like now.

The plot and art are really good, but the emphasis are a lot, aren't they? They keep taking me out of the story, because I'm basically yelling and putting an emphasis on every other word in my head. Plus, none of the characters so far seems to have a distinctive voice, they all have the same structure of bolded words. Someone please send Gail Simone's Twitter lesson on "bolded words in comics : how to use emphasis correctly" to whoever is in charge of this for the series.

The artwork alone is worthy of five stars, as far as I’m concerned. The fact that the plot has actually been good certainly doesn’t hurt though! Though I should warn you that this issue ends in a cliffhanger. I know that drives some people crazy (me personally, I don’t mind it in single issues, but hate it when it’s the conclusion of a volume or a novel). Nina is learning that the magical world isn’t everything she dreamed it would be, surprise surprise! Her world has been full of lies for years, and she never even knew it. It’ll be interesting to see how the next few issues go – she has a lot to deal with.

This series is so so pretty but is also so confusing. Like, half the time it seems like there are pages missing? \_(ツ)_/ This series is so so pretty but is also so confusing. Like, half the time it seems like there are pages missing? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

wonderful worldbuilding, the plot drew me in very quickly, the characters are already highly likeable and the twist at the end had me like 0.0A++

Really enjoyed getting to see the world a bit more. The colours and art were great as always and really make this book stand out for me. That cliffhanger though!! Can't wait for the next issue!
