Dragon Billionaire’s Bargain (Dragon's Council Book 5)
He’s chased her for years. Now, she might just let him catch her. The only female on the Dragon’s council and one of only a few female blacks in existence, Adra is used to being the odd one out. The one never picked for games as a kid. The unpopular one. So handsome playboy Nik Waldek’s attention is unsettling. He’s exactly the sort of man her mother warned her about. The slick charmer who would get her pregnant then leave her when he’s had his fun. Conned into parading herself in front of his business associates for the weekend, Adra begins to see a different side to Nik. The problem is, how does she know if that’s the real Nik or whether it’s just an act to get her to let down her guard as she so desperately wants to… He’s wanted her for years. But she won’t give him the time of day… Nikolai Waldek has been in love with Adra since the first day he met her. Both black dragons and council members, they live together, train together and fight together… but she brushes off every advance he makes and try as he might, he can’t get past the dragoness’s iron-clad guard. So much so, he’s beginning to think she’s more ice-dragon than black dragon and is losing hope of the happily-ever-after he craves with her. In a last ditch attempt, he makes a gamble on a game of cards. His prize for winning? Her as his ‘girlfriend’ for the weekend. Once away from the court, can he finally make her see he’s the perfect dragon for her?

Adra always was a little fascinated with Nik. Nik always was a little obsessed with Adra. But it took a wyvern and a friendly game of cards for them to do anything about it.Books where the lovers have years of sexual frustration usually draw me in faster than most other scenarios. Don't know why, they just do. Add to that a strong independent female and a lothario type playboy philanthropist and I'm done. That and I found the title slightly misleading. Well TBH I found the title way too overdone. I mean it gives you an idea that Prince charming has to be seriously strapped if he'sto win the Warrior Queens heart.Gag.But I enjoy Mina Carter's work. Lord the amount of money I've poured into buying her short reads left me pole axed. And I don't regret a single cent.So would I recommend this book? Honestly, I'm waivering on the edge of caution. Will I continue the series? Yes. Will I remember the characters tomorrow? Probably not. Take from the review what you want. But never doubt my joy in Mina's books.Happy readingLB

A very short enjoyable read.It is helpful to have read the previous books to understand Adra’s behaviour. As the only current female black guarding the queen, there is a lot expected of Adra, mainly by herself. She does not believe Nik is serious about her as she perceives him to be a playboy.Nik has been in love with Adra since his first sight of her. He has tried various forms of getting her to spend time with him, all with no success.3.5 star rating is purely because I felt this was unfinishe A very short enjoyable read.It is helpful to have read the previous books to understand Adra’s behaviour. This is my honest review of this book.

Adra is the only female black dragon on the Dragon Council. She’s got a crush on Nik, but she feels they’re worlds apart in finance and interests. I liked her. She’s tough and sassy, but with an edge of vulnerability the peeked out when least expected. Nik is also - black dragon on the Dragon Council. He’s been in love with Adra for forever it seems, but hasn’t quite mustered up the nerve to tell her so. Nik was sweeter than I thought he’d be. They had steamy kisses and sweltering heat, more so, they balanced each other out so well, it was clear they were meant for one another. This was another fun addition to the Black Dragon series! My only complaint-I wish the stories were longer!

I really enjoyed this story! If you've read the previous books in the series, we have been giving glimpses of the fact that these two are mates. It is a standalone story though. Nikolai has known that Adra is his mate for a long time, Adra has not put that together. She has some hangups which make sense as things come to light in this book. I loved how this story flowed and how we were introduced to things. It was perfect for the two of them! This is a fairly short read! I loved the two of them I really enjoyed this story! I loved the two of them and would have loved to have gotten more, but it fit the two of them and their story! I loved how the relationship developed. Nik pushed when he needed to, but never too far or too fast. There is a lot of sexual tension in this story and the sex is explicit when we get there. I would have loved to have seen Adra kick the lion male's butt a little more but it worked. I loved her kick*** attitude and the way she tackled almost everything. I can't wait for the next story in this series!I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I've a few go to authors and Mina Carter is one of them, she can take a novella and wrap it up into a neat little story. The Blacks are famed, dangerous and a bit cray, cray its said and this female is serious about her job. Adra so focused on being a black little else grabs her attention. Or so she tells herself. Every billionaire is a playboy__ with random eye candy on his arm more often than not. Its all part of the "in" in business. Mina did well with the characters personalities as well as the story, I did feel it was rushed just a little bit. But it all game together. Exciting story and I enjoyed it.

The two point perspective was also very annoying, as events were repeated that should have been left up to us, intelligent readers, to fill in. I do hope later novellas or novels give some sort of closure to these loose ends. Good editing!!

Misconceptions...Nik and Adara have been dancing around each other for a quite a while. Nik has known since the first time he saw Adara that she was his mate but she has never given him any time of "green light". Actually, she seems to have nothing but disdain for him. Adara knows Nik's type- a playboy womanizer. When a bet during a card game forces Adara to spend the weekend with him, will she realize that she has many misconceptions about Nik? Adra, being the only female black dragon on the council, has impenetrable walls around her heart and is fairly prickly. With good reason. Nik, another dragon on the council and a billionaire business man, has been in love with Adra for years and has tried everything to get her to soften towards him. But she only sees a playboy billionaire and refuses to look any deeper. Finally, Nik wins his chance to spend some time with Adra, to allow her to see the REAL him. And it works, for the most part. But she only sees a playboy billionaire and refuses to look any deeper. Finally, Nik wins his chance to spend some time with Adra, to allow her to see the REAL him. And it works, for the most part. But Adra's insecurities about the differences between hers and Nik's backgrounds and her ability to hold on to such a sexy billionaire (and deserve his love) stands as an obstacle to their future happiness. This was a pretty decent story. I think with the build up to Nik and Adra's romance over the series, I was expecting something a bit more epic - and while this wasn't quite epic, it was still pretty good. I liked their differences and how they come together despite them. I liked how badass Adra was and how that vulnerability just sits underneath that prickly exterior. Nik was pretty awesome too, given the amount of patience it took for him to wait for Adra (and the fact that he was celibate while waiting). I feel like this story could have been longer to wrap up some of the events that got started, like Adra's neighborhood and the issues surrounding that. Also curious what happened to the wyvern, since it seemed like there was something more than what it was in that...but it never got picked up or explained. Maybe it was just as it appeared. As I said, nothing epicly awesome, but an enjoyable read.

Are a is the best thing to happen to NikLoved this story but I wanted it to at least have Nik take his revenge against MY because that man is up to something. He wants to take everything that is Nik's. I'm glad Adra and Nik finally got together and realized they were mates. I'm hoping she doesn't give up her job and they keep the banter. Need more blacks dragons stories. I need more Dragon council stories. Loved this series

A short, but satisfying story. Adra and Nik come from completely different worlds and Adra lets this color her view of Nik. Not to say he didn’t portray himself as the stereotypical playboy, but she didn’t really look any deeper than the surface. Adra comes from a poor background and it takes a bit for Nik to realize that she wouldn’t want to be showered in wealth.

Finally Adra and Nik get their story! It was nice to know that not all shifters are rich, though Nik is. It would’ve been nice to see his gesture to Adra was to improve the community she lives in. I wish their trial was more than just Adra’s insecurities and two bitchy women. But nonetheless, they do get their HEA.

A quick, delightful story! The battle of the sexes never gets old! It’s refreshing to find a heroine every bit as strong and lethal as her male counterpart. Adra doesn’t let predatory males get away with anything! But when love enters the picture, she’s still vulnerable. A sexy confection perfect for a lazy afternoon!

Adra and Nik have pussyfooted around each other for years but a game of cards might just change everything between them.Adra is no simpering female and Nik...well he may be a playboy but he does have a good heart.Billionaires of any description kinda leave me cold if I'm honest but if you can see past the rich boy veneer then Nik does have a lot of redeeming qualities.

Adra and NikA fierce fighter and her annoying partner. These two constantly argue but with a heat exchange that only one is willing to admit.Love reading Adra story even though it was not a real long one. The author did her justice in the telling.I read and review the book without obligation to the author.

FinallyAdra - is the only female black Dragon who taught on the Dragon Council. Nikolai ( Nik ) Waldek has been in love with Adra since she became part of his team. Adra thought of Nik as a billionaire playboy who only wanted to add her to his list of conquest - she had been warned about men like him. A quick fun story, I wish it were longer. This billionaire playboy has met his match, he's known for some time but she's in denial...their dragons know better. I enjoyed their banter and witty moments. Love doesn't come easy but hopefully it all works out in the end.
