The Last Vampire (The Last Vampire, #1)
There’s a smokin’ hot dead guy locked in my garden shed. That part’s bad enough. But now, he’s trying to get out.Growing up, my father always told me that I’d come to a bad end, just like my mom did when I was a kid. Hearing that kind of shit when you’re little eventually gets to a girl, but I can’t say I ever expected my ‘bad end’ to involve an angry vampire with a severe case of iron deficiency and a panty-melting English accent.Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. Ever since my mother was assassinated, I’ve felt like there was something vast and frightening hidden beneath the fabric of the world. Something none of us are supposed to know about. So far, finding out I was right hasn’t been nearly as satisfying as I’d hoped. I guess the trick will be staying alive long enough to shout ‘I told you so’ from the rooftops. But before I can do that, I really need to figure out if the vampire who just bit me is one of the good guys or not.

Loved the StoryThis is a hard review for me to write. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. First I'd just like to state that this is a very original story. In the end I loved it and will read the next installment when it's released. I'd actually rate this novel a 3.5 in the first half and a 4.5 the last half. Now to get more serious. Pros : original storyline, great characters, steamy hot sometimes (adult read). Only a few grammar and spelling errors.Cons: In the first half of this book (exact Loved the StoryThis is a hard review for me to write. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Describing everything....surroundings, feelings.....in such long detail that it really held up the progression of the story. A lot of it did not move the story forward or add to what was actually happening in a way that benifitted it. I found myself reading only the spoken parts and skimming pages at a time. Now mind you I'm not being mean by stating this. I want to help R. A. Steffan. Because the storyline was good enough to make me want to read it. And I'm so glad I kept reading because the writing got way better at 49%. She kept the flow and dialog perfect after that and I was completely immersed in the story, the way every true book lover wants. :)

Wow!I thought I had seen all of the permutations of the unlucky heroin and hunky vampire stories but this one actually blew me away. First of all he's the last vampire in the whole world, and she is unbeknownst to herself, a succubus!I guess in the 21st century it can be hard to ignore the fact you're a succubus, but this young woman manages to remain in ignorance of her abilities in that regard. 10 stars! I thought I was over vampires, instead I loved this introduction to a new series with a vamp H, and interesting h. She has all sorts of issues, health, family, financial and has to go on the run with the H, who is somewhat bemused by her. Their attraction is hesitant for lots of reasons, but great steamy scenes all the same. There is so much story to come, yet I wasn't left feeling as if this was incomplete either. Great writing, great story and I am ready for the next book - now pleas 10 stars! I thought I was over vampires, instead I loved this introduction to a new series with a vamp H, and interesting h. 2.3 stars because of the abrupt ending. For a book called the last vampire the vampire wasn't really the focus of the story. That was left to h and narrator Zorah whose normal life is smashed to smithereens as the supernatural invades her life, revealing secrets about Zorah and her family. The pace and action were good but the story ends abruptly with nothing resolved. Felt like ending partway thru story rather than a study in and of itself.

Very interesting and originalI enjoyed this unique world and interesting characters. I loved Zorah. She was smart and sassy. There are so many stupid female protagonists out there that it's a relief when I find an intelligent one. Seriously, stupid drives me crazy. I'm looking forward to learning more about Rans.

Interesting It was an interesting book, and in a good way, lol. I haven’t read one with this particular story line. It wasn’t what I was expecting but I am intrigued enough to want to read the next book!

A good start to a new series This is a very quick and good read to a new series. I wish it wouldn't have ended with a cliffhanger but I understand that it is a counting series, with a 2nd book coming out.

Awesome read I love adventure and who knew chronic fatigue syndrome might be starvation instead? The story line is engrossing and characters flawed but real

The basic story was OK but the details and dialogue bored me. A woman encounters a vampire who turns into her protector from evil forces.
