Blade (Dark Monster Fantasy #3)
When irresistible force meets irresistible girl more than sparks will fly – fur, spiky bits, and possibly tentacles. Ledderik is a slightly homicidal cyborg and is ready to lose himself in a virtual world for the rest of his tomorrows, until he saves Thorn from death and gets sucked into the wake of her cataclysmic siren attraction. Maybe life can be fun? Besides, she has such a cute … tail. One small problem, Led no longer owns his body. Thorn has also lost everything in one day. Cross out being a starship captain or her own species, or having friends. Instead she’s been cursed with being a hurricane force sexual magnet. She has questions. Why is she a biohazard on most reputable planets and how can she avoid triggering an extinction event and killing every male nearby? The two of them cross the galaxy, with Led swapping from loaner body to loaner body. He’s the one male who can resist her, and he’s upskilling. Up against the wall? Upside down? With tentacles and DD drilling power? Led is good at what he does. Always. Meet the hot ex-cyborg who no longer looks in the mirror, in case his latest loaner body is ugly. He has one priority – make sure the downstairs department is BIG. Warning. This story may contain robots, cyborgs, dark naughtiness, and species that come equipped with extra wriggly bits.

I loved the whole exhibitionist vibe it had going on even Smorg got a front row seat here. For me "Blade" is all that is weird wacky and wonderful with a heavy dose of wanton just thrown in for good measure and you know what it totally rocked my shoes and socks. This was a fabulous read that totally hit my sweet spot and I can definitely recommend this no issue whatsoever. Also, I should mention that this can definitely be read as a standalone.oh and before I go as an added bonus here you get to read a bonus short story "Disposing Of Tiana"it's short and sweet about a chapter. But anyone who has read "Prey" will most definitely feel a sweet sense of satisfaction I know I did.So That's it give this a trot if you like something a bit different or even just some tantalising tentacle perve play no judgement from this corner.Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Blade" (Dark Monster Fantasy #3) of which I have reviewed voluntary. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.Reviewed By Beckie Bookwormhttps://www.facebook.com/beckiebookworm/www.beckiebookworm.com

We first met Ledderik, a cyborg assassin, in Prey , however Blade can easily be read as a stand alone, anything you need to know is included in this book. He has lost his way and signed over his body to the Last Of Life organisation, only he finds a new purpose just as his time runs out. That purpose is Thorn, a genetic disaster waiting to happen. What follows is a kinky adventure involving lots of planets, the borrowing of various alien bodies and a lot of shooting (both of guns AND other things ). A cross between a car, a mini-tank, and a superhero accessory this four-doored scarified-pink and black fleetjer could outdistance and outgun most opposition and do it in style. Thorn always thought she was a S'kar, a species that would much rather avoid the whole messy business of sex. Until recently Ledderik had been a cyborg with no sexual organ. There's a lot of fun to be had learning new things. Oh, and just better hope those hovering adbots don't have on-board camera's - goodness knows what they might find to film! And damn this uniform for being so corruptible by these psionic powers of hers. Thank the gods, it only showed randomly glitching pixels. If she ever started texting on her clothes she was truly doomed. This is just one amazingly fun, very naughty and fast paced read. First and foremost it's a sci-fi adventure, with an actual 'quest' to fulfil, a princess to rescue and I'm sure Smorg mentioned something about a ring. It's a lot more erotic, if not down right smutty, then your traditional science fiction read and you won't hear me complaining about that. I loved how inventive Ledderik could be. Who knew tentacles could be such fun? With his mastery of torture, he could see this, sex, being a natural addition to his skill set. He never did anything by halves. I absolutely adored that last chapter, I was totally caught out by that little twist at the end, lol! Do I recommend this book? Only as much as sentient ships and talking swords make great partners. That's a massive yes by the way in case you were wondering.

Where do I even begin with this book? I knew from the very first book in this series that I wanted a story about Smorg the sword and Lederick. It was as if this author heard my inner musings and picked up the gauntlet and ran with it because every scene was unique. It was Hot. I learned things about myself that surprised me (no I won't divulge those but am now looking at tentacles in a whole new way) and found myself laughing at the same time. This book gave me everything that I wanted and so much more. There was humor, moments that I laughed out loud, and moments I had to fan myself. I love this author. Her dark books are some of my favorites of all time. Yet, I also love this quirky side of her where she manages to poke fun at so many things, uses puns and barbed sarcasm, but somehow still manages to show how much she invests in the creation of a story. There are still the elements of consent, darkness, strong females, world-building, and dark anti-heroes that can be found in her other works, only in this series she adds the humor. I am really glad this series all started because of a picture.and SMORG... holy titfire I LOVE HIM.

If you've only read Silverwood's dark books before, you are missing out. It might not occur to you that she has one huge sense of humor! And what better place to showcase this sense of humor than a story about a depressed cyborg, an out-of-control half siren, a sarcastic talking sword and a lovesick AI shoved in a tiny bot? Yes, it all really works! I promise! The book starts with cyborg Led giving up the rest of his life to a virtual reality business. He's depressed, angry and unmotivated since he's lost his master and will to live. He accidentally meets Thorn and saves her from many others. Suddenly Led discovers a purpose, and that is keeping Thorn safe. These two unlikely people band together to find out why Thorn is being hunted and what makes her so special. There are genuinely funny moments, especially when Led gets to know his new "appendage," a gift from his former master that he fails to initially understand. "What person with any respect for themselves would regard a c#[email protected] as a reason for life?""Down, dick-thing, he whispered. Maybe the on-off switch was stuck?"Is Silverwood making fun of men's seemingly obsession with their penis? I choose to think yes, and I laughed hard while reading this. I really enjoyed Thorn and Led's "education" in the sexual arts. And we discovered a bit of Led's background, which was satisfying even in its' brevity. Let's talk about Smorg, the talking sword. We met him in the last book, but this book can be read as a standalone easily. This character is hysterical."Okay, fine, you're a not-hero. You gotta admit this excites you? Killing. Maiming. F#!$ a girl you got the hots for. Run. Use those little legs.""Wheee! Gun-play! If you don't chase her I will never speak to you again.""That's it! Faster, faster! If we catch her, I'll cheer you on and count the thrusts."I loved the whole chapter dedicated to Smorg's point of view. It was refreshing to read and sets you up for an unconventional relationship between him and Jocelyn the bot.As the story continues, the "gags" continue. I giggled when the team met a genetic surgeon with the name Bob Stardrake PHD, DaTASS, MEoW, FRAGS. It reminds you of all the doctors you meet with the initials on the end that you have no idea what they mean. I also giggled when a hotel worker wished them "happy ravishing!"I loved the sex scenes and how they had a different feel than in other books. Led and Thorn were discovering their sexuality together, like two teenagers in a small town. And the ending was unique and perfect. Next book: Smorg's Origin Story?

This is another amazing and fun book by Cari Silverwood. If you have loved the two previous books in the Dark Monster Fantasy series, Blade will not disappoint you. Cheeky, sexy, and dirtyI’ve been wanting Ledderick to get his own story since the first book in the series. He finally gets the girl (or does she get him?), but it isn’t easy or straightforward. Led’s a cranky old man in a cyborg’s ever-changing body. He’s had a bad attitude for a long time. Lack of certain parts will do that. But that’s been fixed. This isn’t a “dark” book. There’s too much fun stuff in it. It’s a cheeky, sexy, dark-fantasy romance with a sense of humor. So, if you’re looking for gritty, grim and brutal, the author has several other series for that. There are some dark themes but IMO, the ‘dark’ in the description is for a “dark fantasy” not a dark romance. Those are two different genres. Beautiful cover.

OMG! I cannot even imagine what kind of creative brain can conceive and develop a story such as this! It is full of action packed insanity. And, I LOVED it. Dark Monster Fantasy, Book 3. A dark, delicious, marvelous, stunning whirlwind ride!I can’t summarize the plot of this book. That’s beyond my ability. There are blurbs and other reviews that already do that. I’m going to do my best to describe what I thought about the story, how the book made me feel. I’m not sure I can even do that. Cari Silverwood has again broken completely new ground. I never know what I’m going to find in any of her books. Honestly? I still don’t know how I feel about this Dark Monster Fantasy, Book 3. Honestly? I still don’t know how I feel about this book. It didn’t just surprise me. It literally left me stunned. I spent a full week after finishing it trying to figure out what I’d just read. The two main characters, Thorn and Ledderik, are unlike any other characters Ms. Silverwood’s ever created. Thorn, a s’kar, starts out as an independent woman, strong, capable of nearly anything. Then her world is upended. She changes, turns into someone, something, unrecognizable. When she meets Ledderik, a 300-year-old, semi-homicidal cyborg, seeming to have lost all reason to live, things spin out of control. This story takes off in one direction, then zips off into something so unexpected it makes your head reel. I was initially confused, then perplexed, and ultimately so turned around I didn’t know which end was up. And that’s the true brilliance of this book. That Thorn and Led even cross paths seems impossible. The journey they undertake is unbelievable. Just as you think you’ve got the characters and plot down, Ms. Silverwood abruptly turns everything upside down and inside out. Unpredictable doesn’t come close to describing this book. In fact, I can say with absolute certainty this is the most erratic, unforeseeable, unpredictable book I’ve ever read. The ending left me flabbergasted! Cari Silverwood has a real talent for weaving darkness, steaminess, comedy, and the absurd into every story she writes. But this book? It was all over the place. At times, it appears disjointed, uneven, random, and even capricious. I don’t mean that in a negative way. You never, at any point, get comfortable with who these characters are, where they’re going, what drives them, or even their intended destination. That’s NOT a bad thing! Smorg and Jocelyn add the comic relief. (And if you want to know exactly who or what Smorg and Jocelyn are, you’ll have to read the book!) When you add in Baldor, Fiana, Nomad, Doctor S, and the other supporting characters, the breathtaking and ever-changing locales, planets, even alternative realities, this book takes you to places you could never imagine. That Ms. Silverwood has not only imagined this entire universe, but written it in a way so unique that it defies description, only proves that she’s exactly what I’ve always believed…a storyteller unlike any other. Congratulations, Ms. Silverwood. I don’t have your talent with words, but this story is, in my opinion, the best one you’ve written yet!A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, sexual scenes, and a few dark scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice. Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

OMFG. Cari Silverwood is a genius, a filthy, obscene genius. This series just proves it, if you ask me. Each one of the books has just gotten better and filthier. I'm not entirely sure how she's going to top this one, and I really hope she tries. Ledderik is tired of his life. He's been around for 300 years, and it's just too much. So, he's going to trade in his cyborg body for a virtual life, at least until his credit runs out, then he'll just die. But before he can even make it to trade in his OMFG. But before he can even make it to trade in his body and get migrated into the system, Thorn walks by. There's something about her that makes him sit more erect and makes him want to follow her. It's not that he wants to have sex with her, it's that following her will let him kill a lot of folks. Really. That's what he keeps telling himself. Thorn is getting ready to get her name in the s'kar fashion, by doing a nonsense run. But all kinds of males start following her around. She's a little clueless as to what they want, so she figures she'll ignore them as long as possible so that she can get her run done. But that's not what actually is going to happen. Thorn and Ledderik together are pretty explosive and way more than a little filthy. Way more than a lot filthy. Filthy in all the right and wrong kind of ways filthy. It's really interesting to see how Led changes from the beginning of the book to the end, as well as watching Thorn's journey. Plus, there's a smart mouthed sword and a cargo bot that's really a ship. What more can you need in a book?

Dejected, he applies to the “Last-of-Life“ program, except just before he was to admit himself, he has an encounter with a gorgeous s’kar female named Thorn Ironside, who desperately required his aid in the most ironic of ways before a starship-naming ceremony. And suddenly, Led has one meaningful item left he wants to do which then explodes into a whole list of items on a rapidly expanding To-Do list. Luckily, he is accompanied by his equally sarcastic sidekick, Smorg, a talking AI sword, to help smooth the impending “trials” over as he “helps” Thorn while she is on the run literally with a biohazard label on her behind. At the core of the extravagant alien detail is a developing romance and several new conflicts which are worked out while we accompany them on their interplanetary adventure. Another creatively erotic, action-packed, and uber-entertaining fantasy tale featuring the much-anticipated Cyborg to add to this awesome feast of a series.

It is as though she is able to attract every male within any distance no matter their species and it all happened in one day, now she is being classed a “Hazard”.The only male that has been able to resist her and treat her as a person and not “Sex On A Stick” has been Led and she is eternally grateful. He now has only one concern and that is to ensure that he is always ready willing and able to please. That is the advantage of being a cyborg, he can go on and on and on and not tire like a human….I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Oh boy did Cari do it again another 5 star read. I've come to realize in her Sci-fi/fantasy book's to expect the unexpected. If you read her 1st book called Prey Lederrick was in it as an assassin and Lord Zarblu had set him free. This is his book and about a certain siren/s'kar female called Thorne and the adventure their about to go on. Not to give anything away, but once I started reading I didn't want to stop or for it to end. Blade another book in the amazing Prey series written by such a talented author. I love the mix of Sci-Fi and Erotica with a dab of holy cow did that really happen. Cari Silverwood just makes her worlds exciting and interesting. Led the not so wrapped tight Cyborg kinda blah blah about life and is way willing to trade it for greener cyber fields. OMG, I love SMOG, he so rocked, a kick &%#@ AI I enjoyed his personality. Cari Silverwood – Blade. I love the cover! I think it is very telling how the story will be. Blade is the third book in the Dark Monster Fantasy series. We meet Ledderik aka Led (he was first introduced in Prey) & Thorn. In the beginning Ledderik isn’t very nice. Until he meets Thorn. Ledderik has just about used his body up and needs a new one. And, with the bodies that Led chooses he makes sure he has a priority to upsize his appendages. Yes, you read that correctly, appendages and he know Cari Silverwood – Blade. I love the cover! An epic quest a la Lord of the Rings. Except, maybe not quite so epic. And instead of a Bilbo Baggins, Thorn had a Ledderik, a cyborg who turned into...lots of other things. This is the third book in the Dark Monster Fantasy series and my favourite so far. The third book in the Dark Monster Fantasy series. If you enjoy a witty, action packed, sexy book with lots of sci fi elements all wrapped up in one book, then this is the book for you.I have to be honest and say that I had a bit of trouble getting into the book. Well this book was fun! I loved Ledderik with his end of life body jumping, Thorn and her unknown origins and of course Smorg, the talking, wise cracking sword. I'm loving this dark monster fantasy series! This has been an awesome series so far! Thorn and Led have such awesome chemistry, you almost forget they're not quite human! Led's "makeover" turned him into a sexy cyborg, and despite their antagonistic banter, their attraction kept me on edge. This is a steamy, edgy series, and Blade is full of intensity, irreverent humor, and high octane action!

Leddrick was ready to give it all up. His life that is. Thorn was hoping to take over her own ship. Alas, nothing seemed to turn out as it should have. Thorn learns of her secret past and Leddrick is thrown into the mix. Add a couple of AI's. It's a sexy story with some depth. Enjoyed it very much.

How to describe Blade? Cari takes you on a wild ride in her own amazing style that flawlessly mixes futuristic paranormal, imaginative erotic sex, action filled story and humor into one story that still at it's core is a romance! Although Led is introduced earlier in the series, Blade is an independent story and extremely enjoyable on many levels.
