Traded Out
Olle Svensson came to Canada to play hockey, but now he’s wondering if twenty-five is too late to start university back home in Sweden. Things started out well, but then his friend Jamie gets caught with a guy in a men’s room stall at a random bar. Olle knows he should have stood by Jamie, in the bar and the locker room, but he’d been caught off-guard. He’d thought...well, it doesn’t matter anymore what he was thinking. Jamie Gallagher is in hell. He’d been sure none of his teammates went to that bar, but now he’s been outed against his will and doesn’t have a single ally on the team. He’s giving serious thought to giving up on hockey until the Moncton Ice Cats come to the rescue. Jamie never thought he’d be so happy to be traded. The only down side is that Olle is coming with him.A Free Read through Insta-Freebee from August 28th to September 4th together with other authors ->https://claims.instafreebie.com/gg/FC...

Traded Out Review

You gotta love a gentle, blushing giant. :)I really liked this, but it would've helped a lot if I remembered what happened in Home and Away. There are also other characters from the author's other books. They're like a big family. So I suggest reading Home and Away first. It was written in a 'storytelling' kind of way. But I still enjoyed it, even though there wasn't much dialogue.

It has been awhile since I read a Samantha Wayland book, but I was totally transported back to her world with this short story(that seemed to pack more story in than I expected for being a freebie). Jamie and Olle were team mates on a team that was not very accepting until Rupert(squee!) comes in and brings them to the Ice Cats. Jamie is charming, funny, and just got outed. Olle is a big, shy, protective Swede. Their confusion, hidden feelings, awkwardness, and vulnerability made them totally likable and adorable. I loved seeing their progression.I was thrilled to get more with Rupert and Callum and Alexei and Mike from previous books. I also enjoyed meeting Chris and Tim so I ended up reading their new novella Take a Shot immediately after. These characters just touched my heart. This is a sweet, sexy, and engaging story about tolerance, acceptance, and finding your safe place. Even though it was a short, it felt like a full enough story and I was attached the characters. Sure the pacing was a bit fast, but that is to be expected. I just love this world she has created and was happy to go back and visit with these characters that feel like old friends and to fall in love with these new ones. Received a free copy in exchange for an honest reviewI normally find short stories difficult to review because many times there is no character development and there is no plot. This one, however, is so sweet and romantic that it made me smile like a lunatic while I read it. The author managed to create two very likeable main characters and their circumstances in the story might not be believable but they sure are fun and sweet.Definitley recommend this one

This is one of those short stories that had the amazing happening of being a complete story on its own with great characters, a fascinating plot, and a fully realized relationship. It was equal parts sad, funny, and touching.Olle and Jamie are being traded to a Canadian hockey team. It is just weeks after Jamie was outed by being caught by half the team and he is happy to go as the team has been down on him since. It was equal parts sad, funny, and touching.Olle and Jamie are being traded to a Canadian hockey team. It is just weeks after Jamie was outed by being caught by half the team and he is happy to go as the team has been down on him since. The Canadian team Jamie is getting traded to has his old friend as well as an openly out coach with a male partner and a family together. Jamie knows he will be safe there, but doesn't understand why Olle is being traded as well. Olle has had a rough go lately, with a high racking of penalties, and the loss of Jamie after the outing. But it turns out the reasons things have been rough in their friendship altely are different than what either man understood. These two were absolutely adorable! Jamie was hurt by his whole teams reaction to him being outed, so watching Jamie regain his confidence on the court is awesome. Seeing him also reach out to date Olle and the sweet things they do for each other and the plans they make are great. Olle is the sweetest guy ever. His revelation will break your heart and have the weeks leading up to the start of this book make so much more sense. As the two work together to being comfortable in their hockey and in being together this excellent story is built that I loved from start to finish! I found it fascinating how the dynamics of the team and the issues with other teams were worked out in this book. Obviously coming out in hockey would not be all roses; that is highlighted by the trading that happens at the beginning. But even in this team that is supportive, there are still those who are not a fan. It is in how those people act that makes all the difference. Then add in the things that the new team does to protect Jamie when it comes to being out on the ice and the reaction of other teams....priceless. An absolutely great read that totally recommend.

This one featured several of the couples from Sam's previous stories - Rupert and Callum from Home and Away, Alexei and Mike from Crashing the Net and Tim and Chris from Take a Shot, and a brand new couple Jamie and Olle. They were so cute together 😍, and I really think that Olle's sexual orientation could best be described as Jamie-sexual. Great catching up with the other guys too, together with the rest of the Moncton Ice Cats. Thanks to the author for the little freebie.

I love this series and this author (and hockey)! This is a rather long story for a freebie and is wonderful! It’s got a fair amount of hockey in it but is definitely relationship focused. We’ve got a clueless Jamie and an adorable Swede who quietly loves and protects Jamie until he finally clues in!There is a bit of smexy times a lot of laughs and a nice glimpse of some of our previously loved and adored MCs.Highly recommended for fans of the series/author but is absolutely fine as a standalone!5 I love this series and this author (and hockey)! gah, I love Samantha Wayland. every time I read a new story from her, especially in this universe, I have to go back and re-read some/many/all of the others. I loved Jamie and Olle - this was sweet and steamy and a treat to revisit the other characters from the icecats. I already read this one twice.

This is a very sweet novella and I'm glad i read it. This is my first Samantha wayland book and i look forward to books on each side couple. Olle and Jamie are very cute and this is a short read with a bit of misunderstanding. All the characters are a sort of big family and it introduced me to 3 couples which ended up on my TBR.A must read!

Great short story set in a world that I love. It was so nice to see all the other characters from the series. Loved the teasing. I loved the slow awakening of the two characters regarding their feelings for each other and then the sexy explosion and exploration of these feelings. Really enjoyed it
