This is an excellent volume. It expands on Chloé's backstory, which gives us some insight into what vampires experienced in the past, something that's been hinted at but not fully covered. It's also interesting to see how Ruthven has changed from the enthusiastic, hopeful person he used to be to the frankly suspicious person he is now. We also finally get our reunion here with Vanitas and Noé, which has some great parallels to the catacombs arc in volume 4. Granted, they weren't really separated This is an excellent volume. Granted, they weren't really separated for that long but when you're reading it month-by-month it starts to feel longer than it actually is. Astolfo is an interesting choice for the cover; he didn't really show up in this volume at all but it is nice to see him get a chance to shine and the color scheme and pose are striking.

War wieder echt gut, aber zu wenig Fortschritt irgendwie. Und leider muss man immer sehr lange auf den nächsten Band warten...
