Dogs on The Beach
In this breathtaking series, photographer Lara Jo Regan combines two universally popular subjects - dogs and beaches - kicking up new sand in beach, travel and animal photography. Readers are treated to a vibrant pleasure-packed journey spanning both coasts and all seasons, a timeless treasure to be savored, gifted and shared all year long.A passionate, world-renowned chronicler of canine life, (Dogs in Cars, Mr. Winkle series, Dog Plays), the author spent three years shooting Dogs on the Beach, traveling to some of the most scenic seascapes in America to capture the primal joy and freedom of dogs romping and rolling in the sand, splashing in the surf, and even catching a few waves. One literally re-discovers and experiences the sensuous joys, child-like pleasures and boundless beauty of the beach through these remarkable images of blissed-out dogs in paradise.

remember when i got unreasonably grouchy at Dogs in Cars because some of the photos were of dogs just sitting in cars and not exclusively photos depicting what MY understanding of the phrase “dogs in cars" means, which is dogs riding in cars with their little faces sticking out the window, ears and jowls flapping joyfully in the wind? well, now she has a second book out called Dogs on The Beach and all is forgiven because these doggies are all on beaches and no one can stay unreasonably angry wh remember when i got unreasonably grouchy at Dogs in Cars because some of the photos were of dogs just sitting in cars and not exclusively photos depicting what MY understanding of the phrase “dogs in cars" means, which is dogs riding in cars with their little faces sticking out the window, ears and jowls flapping joyfully in the wind? well, now she has a second book out called Dogs on The Beach and all is forgiven because these doggies are all on beaches and no one can stay unreasonably angry when there is SO MUCH WET DOGGY FUN!!what do dogs do when they are on beaches, you ask???why, they meet up with their beach-twins, of course!although sometimes they get too attachedthey also become introduced to other species of animaland vegetableand eeeeevilthere are also lots of ballsACK! that is not a dog toy! that is a toy for GM!doggies also enjoy the boardwalk and acting toughlike they're not afraid of birdsor sharksor waves - as long as they can hide behind something bigger and perhaps tastier than themselves.and then they get worn out and have naptime and you have to clean all the doggie sand outta your car (maybe inspiring a photography book called Wet Dogs In Cars???)but it's well worth it because DOGGIES! on the BEACH!!come to my blog!

The ultimate coffee table book! I have been a dog lover my entire life and love the theme of dogs on the beach. This book provides clear and crisp photos of man's best friend on their natural habitat. While there are no words in the book, me and my friends have had fun adding some comments or quotes to the pages. This has made a fun and favorite centerpiece while having company over as no one can resist a cute dog. My favorite quote? "If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away"

** I received a copy of this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway. **This book is adorable! The photos are breathtaking and make me wish I could just take my pup to a beach and enjoy our time there even half as much as the dogs in the book are obviously enjoying their time. Beautiful shots, adorably funny and cute dogs, and lovely scenery. What more could you want?!

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my free copy from a give away from GOODREADS in the mail. This book is absolutely FULL of page after page..... after page..... of Man's Best Friend being their adorable selves on various gorgeous beaches. There is a huge assortment of varying dogs and is sure to cover everyone's favorite breed of pooch! I found myself being reminded of different beloved pets that I'd had over the years and I grinned from the first page right thru to the very last. I had been having kind of a difficult day and this book turned it all around for and gave me a lighter heart. What a huge blessing in this day and age of busy busy busy!I noticed that the photographer did an outstanding job of capturing, not just the beautiful breeds of dogs but their different personalities! Her pictures are taken right down on the sand at the dogs level, sometimes even eyeball to eyeball...well, eyeball to camera lense. This is a perfect gift for dog lovers. (But be sure to get one for yourself!) In fact it would be perfect for anyone who may need a quick pick me up with the warm fuzzies and a handy reminder to carry a lighter heart.

I won this book and Lara Jo sent a very nice note with the book. This is basically a coffee table book for dog lovers. The pictures are amazing and what I really like it that she shows dog that are being dogs and doing what dogs do. She did not photograph just the "show dogs". These are pics of pets that are loved and enjoying life. Our grandson saw the book and claimed it as his and that is OK. I love the fact that he is loving books and is already one of the greatest dog lovers I have ever met I won this book and Lara Jo sent a very nice note with the book. I received this book for free from goodreads. Thank you to both goodreads, the author (Lara Jo Regan), and the publisher. The author included a nice “thank you for your interest” note that was a wonderful touch. This book has a wonderful presentation. The cover is thick and the colors add a nice touch to a coffee or side table. It is a coffee table style book with lots of heart warming photos. The only thing I didn't love is some of the upclose sniffing photos, I say my own dogs name for her to stop that in person so it's not my favorite image in a book either. I do however love seeing the dogs running around catching balls and making friends. The photography lets you feel like you are there along side all the glorious playtime.

This book is absolutely beautiful. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway, and was immediately in love after opening it up. Thanks to the author and the publisher, and the hand written note inside was the perfect touch. My daughter ended up stealing the book from me, since her bedroom is beach decor, and she is an avid lover of dogs. She sits and looks through the book every night.

This is by far the most beautiful book of dogs & beaches, I have ever looked at. It's therapy that I will enjoy forever. I can't always get to the beach but with this book I am transported there and I love to look at gorgeous dogs. The author captured scenes we can only dream about. It's as if she bottled up happiness and put it in a book. I will be buying many more copies for Christmas and holiday gifts....

Honestly, there weren't a lot of words in this book but you know what they say. "A picture is worth a thousand words!" And that is so true. I am not a dog lover, per se but the pictures of these dogs were precious to say the least. This is a good book to enjoy when you need a lift. I think it is totally worth the read, oops I meant the look.Review given by Gwen Ray

Lara Jo Regan is one of the top dog photographers in the world, and she does not disappoint with the gorgeous "Dogs on the Beach." This may be her most beautiful book yet. It is filled with luscious photographs of dogs doing dog things on the beach in photos that vibrate with wit, vivacity, charm, intelligence, and spirit. The photographs in this book make it abundantly obvious that Ms. Regan ADORES dogs. She adores everything about dogs. The photographs in this book make it abundantly obvious that Ms. Regan ADORES dogs. She adores everything about dogs. From shining eyes to fluffy fur, from curiosity to playfulness, from pawprints to noseprints, dogs by themselves, dogs with dogs, dogs with people, these photographs celebrate dogs, their owners, and sun and water and sand. "Dogs on the Beach" is a total celebration of canine fabulousness. The book is also intensely dog-lover friendly. It lists the beaches where the photos were taken so you know where you can bring your dog to play. It has an index of dog breeds. It has guidance on how to keep your dogs safe and healthy on the beach. In short, Ms. Regan's love of dogs is evidenced by the care she took in putting together this amazing book.If (like me) you also like to pick up a camera, "Dogs on the Beach" is also an inspiration. It is a guide of how to take an innovative and laudatory picture of man's best friend. The photographs show how to use light, how to compose a shot, how to capture texture, how to celebrate color. Now I know I will never be a Lara Jo Regan, but I also know I can be a better photographer. If you love dogs, get this book. If you know a person who loves dogs, give this book. If you want to be inspired to greater artistry in your own photos, you must own this book.

Even if you aren't able to experience any of this for yourself...this book comes pretty darn close.
