Rebel Heart
She wants to see him get wild and he thinks she needs Jesus. When AJ Adams is coerced into tutoring Brock Larson, she can’t help but wonder what she’s done to deserve such an epic punishment. But when he meets his tutor, he can’t believe his friggin’ luck. Abby Jane no longer resembles the childhood best friend he used to play hide and seek with. No, she’s all attitude and pink hair and tattoos. Oh, and she hates him, so that’s a plus.Brock and AJ couldn’t clash more and antagonizing one another is just too easy. But, as they spend more time together, the lines begin to blur, leading them to realize they have more in common than what meets the eye.Hate. Lust. Love. They all look the same when you’re in denial, and everyone knows you can’t control your rebel heart.FOR ALERTS, SIGN UP HERE: http://bit.ly/rebel-heart-lkf

I found their story intriguing and couldn't wait to see how it was going to turn out. As much as I found it to be interesting, there were still times I was looking for more and that's where my 3 Star rating comes from. Their actual relationship moved kind of fast, which was fine, but that coupled with the fact that there was so much going on in Brock's life that he wasn't dealing with made it a little meh for me. I guess I just wish that he had dealt with his problems a little earlier in the book that way he and Abby Jane could have been focused on more. Especially since the ending seemed a little rushed for me. But those problems aside I enjoyed the writing and these characters. I liked Abby Jane's sassiness and how she just really didn't care about the pointless stuff in life. Sure there were moments of insecurity, but for me that just made her character more realistic. She was my favorite part of this book and I will be re-reading it many times just to get more of her. Overall, I did have some issues with the story but in the end it was a book that I really enjoyed. And it's definitely one I would recommend. I just hope this isn't the last we've seen of these characters because there are definitely some secondary ones that I would love to get a story.ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately most romantic comedies (or at least the ones I've read) seem to rely more on the jokes and the funny stories and less on the actual storyline and budding relationship. Not with Rebel Heart... You get the funny AND you get the story. And two, because Kate kind of had her niche with Southern Roots. She found a flow and a writing style and it was awesome! I thought she had kind of found her comfort zone. BUT she brought it all with her. The quality of writing, the style... nothing was lost.In all honesty, I loved it.It's cute. It's funny. It's a great book! This is a high quality rom-com that I will be recommending to everyone!

With her hair dyed pink and tattoos gracing her skin, Abby Jane is the epitome of every single fantasy Brock never even knew he had. He'll do anything to keep her this time... even if that anything requires going against his pretentious silver spoon type parents.Rebel Heart has the three S's...Swoony, Sweet, and all kinds of SEXY! The chemistry between Brock and AJ is irresistible and hot as hell! I couldn't stop reading, I literally almost burned dinner because I was so consumed by this book! I want and need more! The one thing I admired most about Rebel Heart was AJ's firecracker attitude and her independence. She's a little punk princess with an attitude a mile wide. Brock's cockiness towards AJ meshed perfectly with this storyline. The romance was great given the fact that these two characters couldn't be more different. I love watching a second chance romance slowly burn its way across the pages. Brock and AJ burned bright as hell. Overall, I couldn't get enough of this novel and these characters. I loved the essence of true love and the opposites attract vibe. I also loved the Romeo and Juliet type forbidden romance style. I can see myself definitely rereading Rebel Heart in the future!I highly recommend this novel to those looking for a hilariously sexy rom-com with just a little bit of angst. What could go wrong?Abby Jane has ditched high society for the life of a college student. Her mother wants her to be a society wife and have luncheons but with a trust set up by her grandfather she dyes her hair pink and gets tattoos and sets off for a college degree. AJ is very bold and at times combative and a lot of it stems from being ditched by her childhood best friend. He was someone who she thought she’d always have in her life. One day with a “blackmail” from her professor she agrees to tutor a jock to keep him on his team. She doesn’t expect her past to become her present. She enters into this agreement against her better judgement, but she really needs that letter.Brock is a people pleaser. His path is paved by his father and he doesn’t want to upset the flow. He starts to feel a little restless when his father piles more practices on him and forces a future society wife on him as well. While Brock likes the sport of golf he would love to make it big in the PGA. When he must take a tutoring class, he walks into the library expecting a nerdy guy he doesn’t realize he would be staring at the beautiful Abby Jane. She has always been in the back of his mind and it’s this wild woman who sets him on a path that will truly make him happy.Sweet puppies in heaven I hated Brocks dad. That man is a sociopath among a million other things. I know jack all about golf. Seriously my only knowledge is Happy Gilmore, Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer who came up with that tasty half lemonade and half tea drink. Brock made golf sexy and that’s words I never thought I’d utter. I love the chemistry between these two. It was explosive in all the right sexy ways. Stacia as a best friend is one every girl needs. I liked that AJ didn’t take crap. She was true to herself and that’s so important to me. Future society wife Amanda annoyed me to no end. I’m surprised AJ didn’t drown her in a pond on the back green somewhere. I would have. I devoured this book in a day and a half and didn’t want it to end. I am truly a fan of L.K. Farlow

Abby Jane, or AJ as she prefers to go by, had one of the most hilarious best friends possible, Stacia, which you can get a glimpse of in the excerpt below. And then there's Brock. Yeah, he's an athlete, but he's a golfer, so it's funny all the ways that AJ tries to insult him as a jock, that just don't fit a golfer. But it wasn't just a fun, fluffy, light romance. There were some family moments that were very emotional. There was the bit at the end that drove them apart, even if it was just one of the usual misunderstandings that are in romance stories. It worked well, and I LOVED the way that Brock went about getting AJ back. Again, Stacia is totally the best friend a girl could have or want to have. A fun, page-turner, barely put the book down read. Steamy, sexy, and funny, another favorite read of mine this year! Yet another new-to-me author I'll be keeping on my radar from now on.

This was a beautifully written story of two college kids who reunite. AJ (Abby Jane) & Brock grew up together & were best friends. At 5 yrs old, Brock said he would marry AJ when they grew up, however, around preteen years (I think 14-15), hormones stepped in for Brock & he found "girls" which caused him to drift apart from AJ. This a totally safe read (no cheating or OW/OM drama - (view spoiler)[ well, not much OW in the sense that there IS a crazy shit girl that is obsessed with Brock but he has no interest in her & is constantly pushing her away but the twit couldn't seem to get the message..... Loved how the heroine bitched slapped her! 😄😎) (hide spoiler)]There is also a very sweet Epilogue which is very important to me.💙👍

I really love second chance romances. Especially ones where the main characters were best friends growing up. Then if you really want to reel me in you have them not like each other and add some tension along the way. I loved the underlying tension between Brock and Aj. I have to say Aj, was my kind of girl because she didn’t take any mess and didn’t conform to what other people wanted her to be. You only have one life and if you aren’t hurting anyone you need to live it for you. I liked Brock and he had a lot on his shoulders. To be honest I’m surprised he didn’t have a breakdown with all the nonsense he had to deal with in his personal life. This was a quick and fast paced read but nonetheless it was enjoyable. I loved the secondary characters, Stacia and Wes. I’m hoping we get a book featuring them in the future. LK Farlow has quickly become one of my go to authors and I absolutely love her stories! *ARC Review*

Her Sass and personality alone is amazing! Add in her smarts and strong will to be herself and not what society and her family expect from her, that just sealed the deal for me! Brock Larson, The Hot Jock!! Yeah, I couldn’t get enough of him either. He’s got a full plate from golfing, classes, tutoring and pleasing his arrogant father. But with all that going on he still finds the time to be completely down to earth, sexy, funny and let’s not forget all the things this guy says that will have you melting! These two together? Yeah...Dynamite!! From their banter to their chemistry you will no doubt fall in love too! I can’t say it enough that this story is one that will pull you into their lives and have you living in a world that you wish you could be a part of! Brock was sweet and my heart went out to him. The chemistry between these two was straight fire, you guys. I was living for this couple! Now there are two reasons that I couldn't give it five stars. One is that it was a bit predictable. I could tell the plot twist of the book before it happened. Second, it was a bit over descriptive for me. Like are we going to believe that Brock knows what a Burgundy smokey eye and a cold shoulder top are?All in all, this is a very good story. Even with the two issues I had, it was still enjoyable and I would recommend it if you love sassy women and swoon worthy romance! I received an ARC via author for an honest review. Blog | Instagram | Twitter

The ending was a real twist. I mean you could see some of it coming but not in the way I would have imagined. I love the idea of the ¨rebel girl¨ falling for the ¨pretty boy¨. Also I laughed at when she has to tutor a ¨jock¨ but he plays golf. I know golf is a sport but just to hear the term jock used for a golfer is hilarious. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes a fun romance read!

What a quirky and sexy novella! I love that it’s not your typical jock story. No nerd meets jock here. No, you get a feisty, tattooed, pink haired spitfire and a golf jock. Won’t stop AJ from her quick mouth though. One of the things I loved about her character. She didn’t conform to her parents “high society” rules. She did her own thing and didn’t care how anyone felt about it. Plus the chick drives a black ‘69 Chevelle! Shes pretty awesome. Quick wit, spunky characters, and some steamy moments, A great read for sure!

OH MY I do not even know where to start!! This is not the average pretty girl sexy guy love story (and I mean this in the best way possible). I love tattoos, but they are so taboo I never thought I would read a romance book about a tattooed, crazy colored hair girl and a so-called “jock” falling in love. With that being said though I absolutely fell in love with their love story. Not only does AJ have a firecracker attitude, but also she has a personality that anyone can fall in love with. I am not going to lie though this story had worried though as I read, because this story was not written to their initial hook-up to be dragged out until the end of the story, which was another huge plus to me. With that being said as you reading you thinking oh no this is moving to fast for it to actually work. LK Farlow made this work like no bodies business though and I cannot wait to see if anymore out of this book comes later. If you like a sassy over the top mind love story with uncommon character this book is defiantly for you. Highly recommended!!

This new stand-alone contemporary romance by LK Farlow was a great example of what I'm coming to love about this author. She put a spin on the 'people from different worlds' type of story. But the way she tells this story made it impossible for me not to root for them and see how perfect they were for each other. Not to mention I got two best friends as secondary characters that I also loved and hope to see starring in their own book in the near future. I love when one book can give me lots of people to enjoy and future books to hope for featuring those people. The pacing and flow of the book was great and it ended up being a really enjoyable shorter read for me. I got to read about a sport I'm not really familiar with but seemed to illustrate well the drive and dedication an athlete needs to have. It also showed the stress they can be put under. I got a leading lady who was so much more than meets the eye, even though in my opinion, what met the eye seemed pretty cool. And I got a leading man who could admit to his short comings and stand up for what he really wants. Overall I really enjoyed and highly recommend this story.

They were best buds until puberty hit and Brock ditched her for other girls that showed him some interest. AJ has never really gotten past the hurt, so tutoring Brock will definitely be a struggle. These two definitely have chemistry. I enjoyed their story but at times, I just wanted more! AJ and Brock definitely have some obstacles to overcome, but Brock won't accept losing her a second time. This time, she's for keeps!

L.K Farlow knocked it out of the park with this book! This book was such a breath of fresh air. It was short, kept my interest the entire way through, and was super sexy. But as it says in the book there's a fine line between hate and love. And in most cases love always wins."I’ll never stop giving her pleasure. I’ll never not put her first. I’ll never stop loving her. I’ll never let her go ever again."

4.5 stars.I really liked this book. I loved AJ, she’s, well, a firecracker and totally awesome. The hair, the tattoos, the attitude. So awesome.Brock is cool too. I don’t know if he has as much depth as AJ, but I liked him.I loved this story, even if I think the blurb is a little bit off. I was worried it was going to be a typical tutor/jock romance, but the childhood aspect was a really great twist. One thing I would’ve liked more of is more of a transition of feelings. This story is about two young people doing everything they can not to let others dictated how their life will unfold. One ( AJ) being more successful then other (Brock) in that.It was fun seeing how she helped him get past his so called goals that his father had set for him and manage to break free with a little help from his family and friends. A cute summer read for sure. *** Review copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads Blog***

This is my favorite read of LK Farlow’s thus far. I loved AJ’s spunk and Brock’s determination. It was a fun read I couldn’t put down. It captured me from the very first page. I love to see strong women in romance novels and AJ was definitely strong, independent, and feisty. Brock was just as strong of a character and the perfect amount of swoony.

Really enjoyed this read. I loved how strong and crazy AJ was. She didn’t care what others thought and did what made her happy. And the fact that he loved that about her was great. He genuinely liked her for who she was. He was a great guy too. Really liked both characters. The little bit of drama at the end was a good add on as well. Really good book with a cute ending.

Opposites tend to attract especially when the other is hot! They will fight the connection but we both know that they will give in and i am glad that they did. My only issue is that I wish Brock's life so many things going on and I wanted it all resolved, but since I didn't write the book that is not up to me, my review is. So regardless of a little thing here and there I enjoyed!

What a fun read! Childhood crush and besties. Teen falling out. Now AJ & Brock are in college. She's forced to tutor him and emotions fly. Hate? Love? Can they rekindle what they once had? Laughter. Tears. And a great reminder not to judge a book by it's cover - you think you know what someone's life is like, but you really have no clue! Loved AJ!!

Brock and AJ are the perfect couple to break the mold for typical tutor-tutee books. Brock is the straight laced golf and AJ is the pink-haired tattooed "wild girl". They are the epitome of opposites attract!! I was hooked by chapter one! AJ's foul mouth and Brock's ability to push AJ's buttons will have you laughing out loud. If you love out of the box sassy heroines and dirty talking "good guys" Rebel Heart is a must read for you!
