I'LL LOVE YOU TILL THE COWS COME HOME contains nine verses, and includes sheep on a cruise ship, frogs on big-wheeled bikes, geese toasting marshmallows for gourmet s’mores, and repeatedly-perfect punchline page turns. It introduces the 500+ year-old colloquial phrase “till the cows come home” to a new generation in a way that they’ll never forget it.The creatures that populate the illustrations--right down to the pigs, the deer, the shrimp, and the ants--are expressive and move in a manner that enhances the left-to-right flow of the story. When we reach the final verse, the movement ceases as the critters settle down for sleep, making this a lullaby, albeit one that avoids the saccharine often found in a more typical children’s lullaby book. Featuring a very catchy beat and captivating illustrations, I'LL LOVE YOU TILL THE COWS COME HOME is an exceptionally fun poetry read-aloud.Richie Partington, MLISRichie's Picks http://richiespicks.pbworks.comhttps://www.facebook.com/richiespicks/[email protected]

Words like "whimsical" and "quirky" are often sort of warning signs to me that something will be too precious, but this book was both of those things and only in a good way. My grandmother used to use the expression "till the cows come home," so I admit to already having good associations with it, but Cristaldi and Litten have taken the phrase and made it concrete and then extended it imaginatively. The illustrations show a pair of sweet-faced fuzzy wolves riding in a hot air balloon, with a pig family waving their arms from a patio. Funny and dear, this is one that could become a family favorite.

Beautiful illustrations, coupled with catchy rhymes make this an easy book to like. A great choice for bedtime reading as well as for story time at libraries. The rhymes are such that some preschoolers might even like to draw pictures and add their own rhymes after enjoying this book.
