Also lots of character development in this one – one from a staple of the series and another from a surprising secondary character. This series gets better with each book. Can't wait to see what's next.

OMG.. I started reading this book, and had to stop to go to work. The kindle went to sleep, and when I got home from work the bottom of the kindle screen wouldn't come on (NOOOOOO.. yes I actually yelled that).I dug out an old tablet, and of course it had to be charged (groan.. yes I did groan). Finally get the tablet charged enough to read with the tablet plugged in, and OMG.. SOOOO much suspense in this book.I sat up reading through the night and into the morning to finish the book hahaahaha. OMG.. I started reading this book, and had to stop to go to work. Have everything you'll need for snacks, drinks etc ready and beside you, because you aren't going to be able to walk away from this book for even a minute. The amount of things that could go wrong for Morgan and Lance do indeed go wrong. Everything you can think of gets thrown at them throughout this book, and the intensity had me clenching my jaw. A very emotional read as well.. omg.. I went through so many different emotions it was ridiculous. This is my new favourite book in this series.. yes I say that after each book, but seriously.. A fantastic story, and well worth losing a couple of hours of sleep over. The book can be read as a standalone, but the whole series is so amazing it is definitely worth reading all of them in order.Bravo Melinda.. Another outstanding book!

I love the characters and how they connect to each other. This is part of the Morgan Dane series and could stand alone, but the other books are just as good so why deprive yourself. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #MontlakeRomance for the ARCLeigh’s fourth book in the Morgan Dane series and she continues to do what she does best and surprise us. The book reads better as part of the series though it can be read as a stand-alone. I recommend reading the whole series as the characters will be severely under-developed without doing so. Their backstories truly make the whole story. A young woman wakes up groggy and with no memory of the previous night’s activities. She finds herself in a strange bed, naked, and covered in blood. When she contemplates leaving, she finds a man’s dead body, a man she may or may not have slept with the night before. All she can think is, "What have I done?!"When Morgan Dane decided to make the switch from the prosecutor’s bench to the defense’s side of the courtroom she did so with the premise of helping those wrongfully accused. Morgan is up against insurmountable evidence pointing to her next client being guilty. A client that she took on as a favor for her friend, Lincoln Sharp. With the help of her boyfriend and partner, Lance Kruger, Morgan and Lance work to piece together the night in question. However, as they get closer to the truth, both Morgan and Lance become targets themselves. Will they solve the mystery before its too late?In typical Leigh format, we are held in suspense until the very end. The romance factor in this book is a bit scaled back for her style of writing. However, as readers who have followed this series, we do get to see the relationship development aspect between Morgan and Lance play out which is a bit more satisfying. 4 stars. Nice, easy read.

"Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review"“What I’ve Done”, by Melinda Leigh, is another thrilling romantic suspense novel featuring lawyer and former public prosecutor Morgan Dane, aided by boyfriend and partner Lance Kruger and friend, private investigator Lincoln Sharp. What I absolutely loved about this story was the development of Sharp’s story and character and the unexpected, but utterly delicious twist on his (I hope) romantic life. I loved that the author introduced two possible female interests and apparently the chosen path is the least expected. I really look forward to have more about Sharp in the next books.Morgan’s and Lance romance takes a new step too, that was lovely to watch. As usual, I’m more interested in the romantic plot and the romantic and non-romantic dynamics between characters when working in dangerous conditions. While the suspense and crime plot evolves, the familial and friendship relations and scenes, the heroism and unselfishness of the main characters are so appealingly written that captured my heart.Melinda Leigh’s characters are believable, relatable and seem human and I’m looking forward for the next story.I'm grateful to the publisher, Montlake Romance, and NetGalley for providing a free copy

This book had be guessing til the very end! With a women from Sharp’s past showing up asking for help...secrets are bound to come to light. This book started out with a bang and never let up! With Morgan, Sharp and Lance working together to prove a young women innocent, we are also introduced to a few new characters and gain new insight to Sharp’s past as a police officer. With a mixture of action, adventure and a little romance thrown in, I can’t wait for the next installment!

The fourth installment in the Morgan Dane series. Can be read as a standalone novel, but to truly grasp the relationships between the characters it would be worth your while to read all the books. Twenty-five year old Haley Powell goes out to the club with her friend one night, and wakes up in the morning with a gap in her memory and blood on her hands, and the body of the man she went home with dead in the yard. With the evidence overwhelmingly against her daughter, her mother Eliza reaches out to private investigator Lincoln Sharp, an old friend, for help. He asks attorney Morgan Dane to take the case and attempt to find out what really happened that night. What Morgan doesn't know is that by helping out her friend, she's walking right into the path of the killer, and putting the people she loves there too.
