Such a joyful return to the slightly crazy but ever so sweet town of Everlasting. Take for example Marcy who has diligently been going about her business in the background of previous stories and now gets her chance to shine. She's a fun character but has sworn off love. Why ? Well if you believe in curses then you could say that she seems destined to always fall for completely the wrong guy . However they do say there's someone for everyone and there's a rather buff firefighter that just might be the right man for Marcy. Now if only Everlasting was a normal town but then again where would be the fun in that ! This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Curses and Cupcakes by Michelle M PillowA paranormal cozy mystery romance from the Everlasting series.A town of paranormals. Most are still learning either about the paranormal factors in town or about themselves. Polly is the most fun and wacky. It’s enjoyable finding out more about her with ever book in the series. This story is about a cursed barista and a hunky fireman. An entertaining read on the lighter side of paranormal.

Marcy Lewis was unfortunately cursed to have her heart broken over and over, ever since high school. She had a bunch of engagement rings to prove it -- even though her most recent ex of the previous evening had stolen them all when he left her for another woman! The curse was odd in that whatever the man she grew close to wanted in a woman, she became! Artist, rodeo rider, whatever! Not by choice – the curse just made it happen. The curse was odd in that whatever the man she grew close to wanted in a woman, she became! Artist, rodeo rider, whatever! Not by choice – the curse just made it happen. Once the man broke off the engagement, she reverted back to her normal self within a few hours. She just hoped she could stay that way for a little while.Marcy headed to her job at Witch’s Brew Coffee Shop and Bakery. The owner’s Aunt Polly had a small magic shop in the back storage room of the bakery. Her spells didn’t work out very well, so she wasn’t able to help Marcy get rid of the curse. As Aunt Polly left the bakery, a handsome man walked in. He felt strange, but then saw Marcy and could not take his eyes off her. When she saw him, she looked upset and tried to close the bakery – but he said he was training a bunch of firemen and begged her not to send him back there empty-handed. She got the coffees for him, but he had to run out on a call.Aunt Polly came by to see Marcy. Despite others not noticing how March’s appearance changed with each love interest, Aunt Polly saw. She figured out about the curse, which wouldn’t let Marcy actually talk about it and what is was doing to her. Aunt Polly told her this was strong, powerful magic. But it was a relief to Marcy to finally have someone who wants to help!Nicholas had just finished with the fire he had responded to. He was thinking that it was odd, seeming more like an accelerant had been used. This was the fourth fire of the week. Would the Fire Department be able to find the arsonist? Would Nicholas ever admit that he see ghosts? And how long would it take for Marcy to realize that this time the curse was different -- Nick liked her for who she really was and she could be herself for him. Who cursed her, and how was the curse meant to end?I adore these cozy mysteries, and this was a particularly good one! The characters were superb, well described and very likable! There were tons of mysteries to be solved, so the reader is kept busy in this fast-paced story! Don’t let this one pass you by! We even have a love story thrown in for good measure! It doesn’t get much better than that!

This is a wonderfully quirky series by four separate authors, set in a town where nothing is quite what it seems; Everlasting, Maine. It is very cleverly done, with overlapping characters in stand-alone stories, and a few hints which don't turn into spoilers. The annual Cranberry Festival is over, and the residents of Everlasting are winding down from the tourist invasion and readying themselves for winter. Marcy Lewis is dealing with her curse again, destined to change her appearance, her habits, her life, all to suit her newest boyfriend, until inevitably, he leaves. This time though, did he really need to trash her apartment? Maybe she'll find some solace in baking some new cupcakes for the bakery where she works, they're a real hit with the customers. The fire brigade's newest employee, Nicholas Logan, seems to be fitting in well, although the sudden spate of arson in town is concerning. He can't help but feeling that everyone seems to be hiding something, then again he isn't exactly sharing his secrets either. How do you tell people that you see ghosts? When he walks into the Witch's Brew Coffee Shop and Bakery for the station's coffee and cupcake order, he's immediately attracted to Marcy. But Marcy is having none of it. She recognises the pull of the curse, and Nicholas is not only handsome, he seems genuinely pleasant, almost too good to be true. She's just not ready for her heart to be broken again. If there's any chance that the curse can be broken, it might lie with her boss's Aunt Polly, a slightly eccentric witch. But finding out who set the curse, and why, is not an easy task, and maybe it won't hurt to accept some help from a gorgeous firefighter. It won't matter much if you read these books out of order, but I'd recommend starting at the beginning, not just for clarity, but because they're fun to read.

Marcy has been living with a curse that no one else (accept Aunt Polly) seems to notice (which is also part of the frustrating spell). Marcy has been cursed to have a never ending series of romances where she somehow changes mentally and physically to fit each man’s personality (only no one seems to notice), each relationship doomed to fail. Marcy decides to stay away from all men and relationships and concentrate on her job. Enter a very hot fireman names Nicholas (his talent is that he sees ghosts) who has just come to Everlasting to trai. The fire department in water rescues. Despite trying to fight her attraction to a Nicholas, Marcy has this sudden obsession with baking cupcakes. A string of fires set by an arsonist causes concern for the fire department while at the same time Marcy enlists the help of Aunt Polly to get to the bottom of her curse and she end it. Romance, laughter, mayhem and a crazy mystery will have you turning pages with a big smile on your face.

Back to Everlasting for more magical shenanigans. This series is great a group of stories stolen by various authors centred around the magical mysterious town of Everlasting, Maine. A large percentage of the population are supernaturals of one form of another. Witches own the coffee shop, the fishing tours are fun by a Werewolf, a Werelion owns a local restaurant and a supernatural hunter owns the antiques store and the police force is made up of twelve men who were hired for their good looks and who are known by the months of the year as a condition of their employment was posing in a police calendar, ie, officer March who is also a Centaur. Those are just a few of the many eccentric characters who make up Everlastings citizens. All the books run along a similar theme, there is a crime or mystery to be solved usually by magical means and over the course of the investigation the hero and heroine find true love. The books are all written by well established authors so the quality of the writing is first rate, the plots are clear and concise with a mild romantic element, there is also a lot of humour in the books and with such a large population there is room for this series to run and run. I bought the first book by Jan DeLeon as I love her writing and immediately bought the other five currently released and have read them one after the other with no break. That's how much I enjoyed them. Try the sample you may enjoy them too.

Marcie is doomed to romantic failure. Ever since high school she has lurched from one bad relationship to another, always losing herself to whatever her paramours image of an "ideal woman" was. After her last break up she just wants to recover and get back to being...her for a while. But on the way to work she passes a fire engince and caught a quick glimpse of a firefighter. She couldn't see much of him but it was enough to put her on red alert. No Hot firefighter, adrenaline junkies for her. S Marcie is doomed to romantic failure. He can't believe his luck when he meets the lovely Marcie but from her reaction to him, he thinks he may have come on too strong. But as they get to know each other, they quickly realise that Marcie is in danger from a stalker and possibly the same person who cursed her long ago.As usual Polly is in the thick of things, at least this time she is more help than hindrance! Her idea of a sleep over/curse removal was a hoot! It was very poignant when Marcie realises that she is staying herself this time...no dramatic makeovers, Nick likes her not some imagined fantasy.Keep 'em coming!!!

Marcie just broke another engagement. By tomorrow she'd be back to the original her. Today she had tats and a piercing. What would her darn curse bring next?
