Coyotes #1
Underworld meets Sicario in this new series from SEAN LEWIS (SAINTS, THE FEW) and amazing new artist CAITLIN YARSKY. Hunted by a legion of wolves that roam the border, women are disappearing. The survivors band together to wage war. Detective Frank Coffey is trying to understand this mythic-level bloodbath when he comes across Red, a little girl with a secret and a sword. Ultra-violent and smart as hell, COYOTES transforms the everyday into a myth we can rally behind.

The City of Lost Girls and the intriguing mystery behind this place will definitely arouse anyone's interest. Coyotes were hunting and attacking the people of this city and the Victorias, which was govern by the Duchess, were the ones who tries to killed these vicious hunters. Analia is already an orphan, thus the Duchess recruited her to be one of the Victorias; as her rite of passage, she must kill a coyote and get its head. I pre-order this Kindle edition via Amazon. I read it on a train. What an unusual experience for somebody with a pull list & everything... It isn't an easy read, don't read it before go to bed, this need your attention. That says, Yarsky did a remarkable work on this. I don't know if I will follow this series, but this first issue is promising. Coyotes, girls, ghost cities, policemen & katanas: unusual ingredients indeed.I did a quick collage of this on Instagram.

OMG! First issue and I'm officially obsessed. COYOTES is about a band of women fighting back against shape-shifting wolves/coyotes that are hunting and killing them. After her mother and sister were killed, Red (formerly Analia) runs off with her best friend, Eyepatch and joins the Duchesses' group, where she learns how to fight like a samurai. The first issue start with Red standing in a room full of corpses and gets more gruesome as it goes on-definitely not for the faint of heart and rated M OMG! First issue and I'm officially obsessed. First issue read, and I’m already sold! It usually takes more than an issue or two for me to give 5 stars! But OMG! I’m absolutely in love. The story is interesting, even if it’s not that clear in the beginning were the story is going, it just draws you in. Great character and intriguing world building so far. The narrative is almost poetic in style, accompanied with perfectly matched lettering. And the art, THE ART, it’s just plain and simple beautiful!Another great new installment from Image an First issue read, and I’m already sold!
