Man Hands (Man Hands, #1)
He puts the "screw" in screwball comedy...BRYNNAt thirty-four, I’m reeling from a divorce. I don’t want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn’s Dips and Balls. But my friends aren’t having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I’m still taking a hard pass. Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer. Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don't expect me to actually go through with it.TOMAll I need right now is some peace and quiet while my home renovation TV show is on hiatus. But when a curvy woman in a red wrap dress charges me like she’s a gymnast about to mount my high bar, all I can do is brace myself and catch her. What follows is the hottest experience of my adult life. I want a repeat, but my flying Cinderella disappears immediately afterward. She doesn’t leave a glass slipper, either—just a pair of panties with chocolate bunnies printed on them. But I will find her.

4.5 For The Love Of Balls Stars Well I wanted fun and boy did I get it!!I started laughing on the first page and didn't stop, some of it was little giggles but most of the time I was bent over, drink coming out of nose snort laughing (not literally) well maybe the snorting hehe. Brynn is newly divorced, to be fair it was her seeking the divorce. Brynn's ex was not attentive to her needs in any way and when he tried to fulfill her bedroom needs lets just say he only gave her a limp salute. So now 4.5 For The Love Of Balls Stars Well I wanted fun and boy did I get it!!I started laughing on the first page and didn't stop, some of it was little giggles but most of the time I was bent over, drink coming out of nose snort laughing (not literally) well maybe the snorting hehe. Brynn is newly divorced, to be fair it was her seeking the divorce. Brynn's ex was not attentive to her needs in any way and when he tried to fulfill her bedroom needs lets just say he only gave her a limp salute. So now Brynn needs someone who'll give her the attention and love she deserves. Brynn is a college professor but her real passion is in Dips and Balls, she has a food blog but that doesn't pay the bills. Tom is a 38yr old 'handyman' who has his own TV show 'Mr. Fixit Quick', he is adored by women everywhere but yet has had nothing but bad luck in love. Until a voluptuous woman (Brynn) throws herself at him at a party. I fell for Tom quickly, I mean big built handyman/tradie added with how nice he was and we have a winner folks. So after Tom and Brynn have an 'adventure' in his boathouse they find out it was filmed and has been sold and watched over the internet. To save Tom's career and Brynn's reputation they set up a fake engagement, cause who wants to watch an engaged couple get it on? At least she has a good sex face hehe. This is the fun and hilarious story of Brynn finding a real man, true love and maybe finding herself along the way. What made this such a great read and so funny was the characters Tom, Braht, Brynn, Sadie and Ash were awesome and I just wanted to go hang with them for a while. The only thing that upset me was that it ended, I wanted way more Tom and Brynn hopefully we will get more as the series continues. This is a must read for lovers of Rom-Com's. ღ Reviewed on behalf of the 1-Click Addict Support Group

I made the mistake of trying to sneakily read Man Hands before starting another crazy day in the Sassy household. Well, this book had me trying very hard to suppress my laughter. I made the mistake of trying to sneakily read Man Hands before starting another crazy day in the Sassy household. The house is quiet (except for the light snores from hubby), I haven’t turned on my work or Mum brain and my computer and phone haven’t been activated. 5:00 in the morning is a great time to read.Getting back to silent laughter… So, I start Man Hands and I realise my mistake pretty damn quickly. It’s FUNNY!! I mean, really funny. My whole body shook, trying to suppress my laughter made me snort and I accidentally doinked myself on the head with my kindle. Of course, all of this commotion wakes hubby. The poor bloke, this isn’t his first unfortunate wake up, but he’s resigned to the life. My hubby is...Married to a R.O.B.A. (Romance Obsessed Book Addict). I don’t think he expected it to be easy but I don’t think he expected…early wake-ups, tears and tantrums, snuggles and cuddles, snogging and pashing. Well, thems the breaks, you take the good with the bad.Anyways, I really enjoyed Man Hands. While there is definite humour, the story also deals with finding yourself after heartbreak. It’s amazing how quickly you realize what love really is when you find the right person after you’ve left the wrong person. Both Tom and Brynn are recovering from messy breakups. Tom has to regain his dignity after his ex, publicly rejects him. Brynn is looking for a new job after her ex’s dad gives her a pink slip. The best way to get past their breakups…let his man hands caress her lady bits. Then, have the world see it too…Now, I have to admit, the humour does get a wee bit OTT in the middle, but to be honest, that could have a bit to do with my mood. If I’d had a few solid hours to read without interruption, I probably would have stayed on the giddy high from the start. Unfortunately, reading with breaks in between and trying to read at the end of a stressful day, it felt a little too much. She’s a wee too obsessed with food and he’s a wee too obsessed with listening to his saluting staff (read between the lines…we’re not talking about his workers, wink, wink).I started on a high and ended on a high. It’s funny, sweet and a little corny. If you happen to be love home renovations or you’re a foodie, this story would be great for you. Plenty of sexy times that definitely shows their lust for each other. Sure, we hit the “L” word pretty quickly, but we’re not expected to immediately believe their HEA. We get to see a little of their future and what their HEA will look like, and that’s exactly how I like my romance to finish.I enjoyed Man Hands and I will definitely be back for more laughs with Man Card. I just created a new Bookshelf/Tag - Is that a hammer in your pocket? I crack myself up...regularly. 😂😀😁😆Stacey is Sassy, received a complimentary copy of this story. But as I read a couple of more pages, It Was a Full On Delight! Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby joined forces and we are the Lucky Ones...Well, actually our characters are the ones who really benefit. They have the most wonderful moments of discovery about each other and themselves. We first meet Brynn and her posse. Brynn is recovering from a recent divorce and is stuck per her loving friends. They are concerned because all she has been doing since she realized her marriage was not what it should be...is cooking, blogging and kind of just hanging out in the new house she is renting.Brynn had been married for awhile to a man who showed no physical interest in her...He made excuses to not have sex...and just settled into having Brynn supply amazing food for him to consume. It was this treatment which caused Brynn to doubt herself. Here she was an accomplished English professor and capable of so much... and everyday she was losing who she was...Brynn decides enough is enough and tells her ex the divorce is happening...and he hardly acknowledges it. His father, however, lays Brynn off from her position at the University...So now Brynn is unemployed, sending out resumes or plans to... and only feels competent when baking, cooking and blogging. This is when her fantastic friends step in... Announcing Brynn needs to get LAID... and they have the perfect way to make it happen. The real estate agent who is in competition with Brynn's friend is having a party. It will have the necessary booze, hot guys, moneyed and able to give the thorough shagging Brynn needs. She hesitates but ends up going. We get a taste right off the bat of the relationship the dueling real estate agents have- Now this is a running thing and they should end up with their own book The women get drinks, settle in and Bam... there in a corner is Brynn's ex... with a woman who is many years younger than Brynn... thinner and OMG, the Ex's hand is caressing her ass....Mr. I'm Not Interested in Sex is doing a PDA!!!!Well, that is all Brynn needs to realize she can't breathe...To the rescue, she is instructed to collect herself and go and kiss the first Manly Man she sees...A switch was turned on...Brynn zeros in on the most Manly Man she sees... Tom, out there in the garden, turns towards her after just working on some planting...She takes off as if on fire and before both of them can connect the dots... Brynn has thrown herself into this man's arms... He catches her, his manly hands cupping her ass and Brynn lays a kiss on him for all she is worth...Tom reacts instinctively. Here this womanly woman... not the stick figure his ex girlfriend was... this vision coming at him has curves, breasts that move naturally, rising and falling with each step...Oh, his body is reacting and wanting this to be a real experience... because it has been a long while since Tom has had a woman's body close...Tom has been trying to heal himself. He went through a very difficult break up. He was crushed and it has been hard to live it down. His personal posse of one, the real estate broker, made Tom have this party at Tom's home... so he was ripe for this Real Woman crashing into him...And when her mouth lashes onto his... he was taken aback...and then both of them lost their minds...Yup... Tom holding Brynn, Brynn wrapping her legs and arms around this guy... sucking face like her life depended on it.. Each one full of drinks yet still with working minds... with one thing needing to happen...She needs to get as close to him as she can... He wants her under him and Nothing is going to stop these two...And Nothing Does....These two experience life changing sex... Yes, there is such a thing and they are having it...What happens next and throughout the rest of the book defies my ability to present it properly...Everything rings just right...all the humor... all of the amazing desire these two have for each other... all of the goofy wonderful talking about food and sex works. There are layers of pathos, too... but not too much -just the right amount. There are POV's for our two and then there is also the constant conversation Tom's Dick has with him... Yup, no kidding...It So Works. As you can tell, I am smitten with this book and the partnership of these extremely talented authors. They have figured out how to do this Rom/Com thing and another book will be coming in January. Man Card...Yes, I am hoping it is the fighting Real Estate brokers. ~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~ Lucky Me, Off From Work...So I can Indulge and Fantasize...Let's See...His hand would grab my...Or his Mouth would ...Oh, Hell Just Keep Reading!●•●•●•●•●•●•●• OMFG... When you give me a title like that...The thoughts that come to mind...Hands Roving Over Hips, Thighs, Valleys....Hands Dipping into places one dreams about...Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby know exactly what they are doing...They are bringing the Humor, Heart and those Oh, So Important... But never fear her wonderfully supportive friends have fabulous advice and are not afraid to share. ❝No, as your therapist, I'm telling you from here on out, if you're attracted to a guy, it's a red flag.❞❝Wait, you want me to f*ck someone unattractive?❞❝No, babe,❞ Ash says. ❝You need to do the nasty with someone who isn't your type. If your body is responding with all those whozits and whatsits, then you need to run away because your instinct is just plain wrong. You make bad choices.❞ At a party her friends dragged her to, Brynn does what any level-headed woman would. She throws herself at the Gardner. Literally. She jumps on him. Only the Gardner turned out to be the owner of the home.Tom has taken a break from filming his Fixit show. He is still reeling from from a humiliating breakup. All he wants to do is lick his wounds, figure out how things went wrong, and get his life and show back on track. But when he is attacked by a woman who provides him with the best sex he's had in possibly his whole life, he finds himself embroiled in more than he bargained for. But, also, more than he could have hoped for. This writing duo, Bowen, and Eby are kindred spirits. Together they created a sexy, funny and uplifting story. There was never a disconnect. The writing was seamless as if it was written by one person, not two. These two certainly have something here, and I cannot wait to read more, I hope the next book is of Braht and Ash because fireworks and a whole lot of laughter are sure to ensue.**I was voluntarily provided this free review copy by the author. This did not influence my opinion of the book nor my review.**

Brynn is not a delicate flower and she is woefully out of practice when it comes to handling men. Her past type has always been the more high maintenance, sensitive, wimpy boy-man. So her friends push her to ignore her instincts and look for the opposite. And then she sees Tom...big, burly, handsome, hot, and with dirt on his hands. And impulsively she takes matters into her own hands and initiates a full body slam. But their chemistry explodes into a scorching, Earth-shaking tryst and they are both left reeling from the impact. But now he needs to find her again....and to come clean about who he really is. And that will bring a whole host of complications and challenges for them to deal with together. This is a fast-paced, fun, sexy, hilarious, rom com with lovable characters told in dual points of view. It is a bit over-the-top, but I totally smiled, laughed, and swooned. I adored Tom with his big heart and manly hands and body that made her feel safe and beautiful. And Brynn was so easy to relate to with her curves, insecurities, and self esteem issues, but she was funny, smart, and natural. They really just fit and were exactly what they didn't know they even needed. They were mature and just so sweet and sexy together even when they had no clue what they were really doing. The side characters of Ash, Braht, and Sadie kept it even more interesting and full of sarcasm and laughs. I loved the no-holds-barred humor, wit and, charm. But it also had some good character growth and messages about hope, home, and happiness. I was engaged by the first page and read it in one sitting. This is one of those stories that you just devour and leaves you with a big happy, smile on your face. I am looking forward to their next collab on Man Card. And predictably, this celebrity—used to female attention—is intrigued because the sex is the most memorable he’s ever had. Then comes a sex tape scandal and the damage-control that eventually blows up in their faces. If the plot is familiar, it’s the execution of it that isn’t. ‘Man Hands’ is a stark departure from the usual Sarina Bowen style that I’m used to, and it was a ride that left me wondering how zany things could get before I could see my feet back on terra firma. Frankly, it was all a little too mad for me as characters stepped out of reality straight into slap-stick land and did/said/thought things that no sane person would try, I think. I do understand that rom-coms can be tricky: get the balance of the humour and the lovey-dovey bits just a tad wrong and it dumps us into cheesy territory or overdoses us with cavity-inducing sweetness. Overdo the serious stuff and the complaints come fast and furious that the story should have been better classified as angsty drama. But when everything about ‘Man Hands’ got inflated, dramatic and exaggerated so that hyperbole became comedy, I found myself barely able see past the over-the-top silliness to the point where it was hard to connect with the characters, or at least, with their voices which I hard a hard time reconciling with 30-ish-year-old adults. Scrub out the wacky lines, the erections that come when the slightest wind blew and the hysterical inner monologues that filled the pages, and I couldn’t quite get the substance behind this particular style. If Brynn barrelling into the first man she saw which led immediately to hot sex wasn’t batty enough, Tom simply came across as sleazy as he straddled the line between being a pining teenager and a man obsessed with his own dick despite having broken his short stint of celibacy. The long and short of it is, I was just incredibly disappointed by this one, maybe because I wanted so badly to see what Bowen could do with romantic comedy and felt let down when nothing went right somehow. But if ‘Man Hands’ was one that back-fired spectacularly, judging from the glowing reviews, I daresay it’s probably a brand of humour that didn't resonate with me in any way. *ARC by the author

What she likes to do these days is to work on her blog, Brynn’s Dips and Balls, but her friends disagree. They think what Brynn needs is “to be fucked” What happens when Brynn runs into her ex at a party, watching him hang on to a new younger chick? Well, she leaps into the first man’s arms she sees in the garden, kisses the hell out of him, and ends up having hot sex in the boat house. The minute it was done, she bolts. Tom is the gardener Brynn had a one night stand with, except he is not a gardener at all. Tom has his own home renovation TV show. After a rather embarrassing episode, he is taking a hiatus from the show hoping the paparazzi will leave him alone. The only excitement Tom has had in months is a steamy one night stand with the mysterious woman in the boat house. Tom’s new mission is to find Brynn but the harder part is to convince the public that the “leaked sex tape scandal” is nothing but two people consummating love. Brynn is to be Tom’s “fake fiancé” until his next renovation project finished, but what happens when the “fake fucking” continues and feelings are involved?I love the plot – it’s lighthearted, sexy, and entertaining. There is an ease to the authors writing. It flows seamlessly from beginning until the end. I am in awe that the story is written by two authors as you really can’t tell. I enjoyed the hilarious banters, the quirky heroine and the hot sexy on the stick swoony hero. There is not really any angst or drama. Just straight up sweet rom/com with a HEA. Perfect weekend read!!!

My only issue with this giggle-worthy book is that so much could have been resolved with a simple conversation. They try hard and the entire thing becomes uncomfortable. That never happened here. Ms Bowen walks the tight rope between funny and ridiculous with panache. The characters were great, I particularly liked her BFF's Ash and Sadie, they had some stellar lines, I'm looking forward to their stories. All in all I enjoyed this book very much, I liked Brynn and Tom.And I'd highly recommend this book to lovers of great comedy/romance.

Her friend’s advice? Turn around and kiss the first man you set eyes on! Enter the gardener...Tom is bent down adjusting a sad looking lilac when he observes a woman charging at him. He barely has time to stand and brace for impact. I pace of her body...and lips. And the story begins...Chock full of endearing characters, tight friendship, and a big burly hero that’s just what the doctor ordered for the hard-on-her-luck round and soft around the edges, Brynn. Tom is everything she usually isn’t interested in so maybe that’s her solution! Obviously her taste in men is shot!Brynn’s besties, Sadie and Ash were awesome. Ash, especially stole the show for me and I seriously pray for a book with her and her co-worker, Braht... That would be the enemies to lovers book to end all books!Bravo. Every time I see this cover, I think it says MAN ANUS. Which is probably just a little too frank for a book title. Besides that, the whole cover is just beyond awkward.. The background color (why pee yellow?), the title color (that red is way harsh), the grey skinned dude (uh, okay it's a graphic contrast to the super bright colors, but like, in an MS Paint kind of way), the weird arm/hand placement (does he have a pain in his bathing suit area? is that why he's hunching over? where does that ha Every time I see this cover, I think it says MAN ANUS. But really, MAN ANUS. I'll read it because I like Sarina Bowen, but if I had not read a book of hers before this, I would be noping right out. Honestly, I kind of want to nope out anyway, because this cover is so unattractive. Sorry to whoever designed it.

Man Hands cracks me up. This brand of humor from Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby with the crazy characters is outrageous lyrics funny. The innuendos and all the little quips. Tom and Brynn are a hoot imagine HGTV meets Food Network sorta. The rebound turned intense fast paced fake fianceé relationship between Tom and Brynn. Brynn's friends who are equally quirky but real. Brynn's divorce took a number on her esteem and it might be fast but this new development with her Mr Fixit helped. In that same way Tom also needed a little pick me up after his own relationship woes.Yes there are cheesy and little over innuendo. I felt the lust between Tom and Brynn throughout the book. While Tanya Eby is new to me author it's all good. I can't tell who wrote which part which is good. Enjoyable quick read with a nice epilogue. Fast paced as it was that future take helped. I can't wait for Man Card up next too!** ARC provided for an honest review ** .

Oh wow. This was a sweet, quick and hilarious read! It’s probably one of the quirkiest romantic comedies that I’ve ever read and I absolutely adored it!!! Brynn and Tom were fantastic and their chemistry was off the charts! I loved that they both have their own eccentricities and I really loved how their relationship built in the story! Full review to come!

Instead of reading an romcom book because this is not NA... I feel like I read a teenagers book... the heroine was ridiculous!!! Her friends were just as bad!!! And who talks to their member like they’re a human??? I love all of this authors books, but this one was simply a hot mess!! The story didn’t connect the points, some events made you go huh? Also, sex within the first chapters? Yeah no..
