Licking Fire by Mandy M Roth is a bewitching and sizzling paranormal romance. Rayer is a reclusive dragon shifter who Alondra calls on for help. She is being stalked by demons and she believes Rayer is her last hope. Alondra doesn’t understand why but she finds herself desperately attracted to him. Rayer finds himself attracted to her as well . There is this paranormal aspect to the romance angle of their love story . The secondary cast of characters are fabulous-Timothy , Zarek and Keren. This was a fun read about a centuries old dragon afraid of a twenty four year old woman. While I would have enjoyed more interaction between Rayer and Valentine (the mayor) it has the potential for additional stories. It would also be nice to have more knowledge about Timothy and his line of magicks.

Mandy Roth - Licking Fire: A Howls Romance (Stop Dragon My Heart Around)The “Stop Dragon My Heart Around “ Series are awesome Dragon Shifter stories with sexy alpha dragons, smart sassy damsels in distress (or put there when they find they are suddenly mates to a male they’ve just met), great secondary characters, involved exciting plots, romance and a lot of humor and fun.Alondra is a woman running for her life, a journalist she bravely posted an article revealing a corrupt government official. Now they are after her and they are not human. Although a bit timid and traumatized Alondra warms up to the dragon physically and mentally. She is of course a virgin which I found annoying, it was not necessary to this story which is not YA and personally I am over the whole virgin thing, it’s actually a turnoff at this point. She reluctantly runs to a man/Dragon Shifter who her grandfather has written extensive journals about for help. Skittish at first she is comforted by the wise doorman/ wizard/assistant to Rayer. Together the three not only figure out they are all somehow connected but that she is also Rayer’s True Mate.Overall this a great read I would have loved to be twice as long. I’d look forward to reading more in the series as Rayer has lots of relatives still in need of their mates.

I loved this book, as always Mandy has lived up to her true craft, writing a great story. Even thought it was a short story it was delightfully sweet filled with danger and a pop of passion and hope just in time for the Holiday Season. Rayer is part of the Dracodimus and has to mate soon or he will fall victim to the family curse. Alondra needs Rayer’s help when she is targeted after exposing corruption throughout the city. These is a fun, short and hot read. The interaction between these leads are fun especially since Rayer looks young but he is really an old man who is set in his ways while Alondra is 24 and living the life of a modern woman. They were an awesome couple.I received a copy of this book for a honest review.

This story started out with strong personalities & kept the attitude going. Like all of Mandy Roth's books, the characters are well written, well rounded, sassy and just plain fun to read! The worst part of the book was when I read "The end", I wanted it to keep going.

Ohhhhh, this was a short but hot story that was easily read in a sitting. Well, part of that may be because I didn't put it down until I was finished and was completely absorbed by it. Rayer was coming very close to the age where if he didn't find his "one" then he would lose the ability to have children, or hell even sex, forever. Alondra was on the run, someone is after her because she wants to expose corruption in the mayor's office. Thin on conflict. I was wanting more drama with the mayor. His character wasn't at all developed. All that aside the play between the H/h was okay. Through the journals Alondra had from her grandfather Samuel she knew of shifter existence and that Rayner was one. What she didn't have knowledge of was that Rayner and Samuel were friends. Both Rayner and Alondra were to share a mutual surprise when it came to Tobias. The connection between these three was very revealing. A nice addition to this se Thin on conflict. The plot builds slowly but it was a good quick readI liked this story a lot. The concept was interesting and the characters were relatable. The plot was thin, there was no real resolution to the main conflict of the actual dramatic portion of the book. There is a sweet romance build up, but for me, I would have really enjoyed a good fight with the bad guys or a revisit to the dander that brought them together. Full circleThe past and the present come full circle in this tale. Scared, cold and wounded Alondra is at her wits end and believes Rayer her only hope of survival based on writings of her grandfather. Alondra is the granddaughter of the one human Rayer trusted with his secrets and she's also related to his trusted employee. She's arrived on his doorstep after being pursued by supernaturals that want to end her.

Rayer and Alondra were amazing together, I've loved the other two books in this series I knew that I would love this book as well and I was right. I love reading about this centuries old dragon clan finally find their mates just before time is up, the clan curse makes these books even better if you ask me. I cannot wait for the next book and since Alondra has siblings and cousins I can just imagine where this series will go.

Short storyThis story started off great. Nice world building and background story but after the main characters meet the story feels rushed. For me there wasn't a satisfactory confrontation\conclusion with the antagonist. While I liked the ending it also lacked a little substance too. Enjoyable read but too short!!
