Isolated is a wonderful novel written by a wonderful author! Set in war-invaded Canada, 14-year-old Louise is forced to leave the safety and comfort of everything she has previously known and venture out into the wilderness alone to survive. During this time, she struggles with what she thinks she knows about God, and what she soon comes to know is really true about God. The author does an amazing job weaving a life-changing message into an exciting story line, and Isolated is a story you won't want to miss!

I loved this book! From the first page, Jordy had me hooked. I liked the "survival" aspect of the story, and I also LOVED how Louise kept resisting God, but then (view spoiler)[turned to Him (hide spoiler)]. There were great times of suspense, but I also liked how Louise had times of despair as well. It really shows how, without God, you cannot do anything. Now I want to know what happens next! I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out. **I recieved a copy of this book from the au I loved this book! From the first page, Jordy had me hooked. I first read Isolated when it was in its beginning stages of editing. Even back then I enjoyed the exciting and, more importantly, Gospel-centered novella. The book explores a series of events that turns Louise Stella's life upside down. She is forced to face life head on amidst danger, uncertainty, and life-altering questions. That's what I appreciated most about this book: it tells the story of someone I can relate with who asks the most important questions in life.Because Isolated is set duri I first read Isolated when it was in its beginning stages of editing. I appreciated that the author included an example of it on the book's Amazon page, so readers can get an idea before reading it. (I wish all authors did that!)There are still loose threads of the story as the novella closes, but I assume that they'll be tied together in the following novellas. It makes me all the more eager for their release. =)

4.5Isolated is a great book! I was excited as I began reading it as the author is a friend of mine and it's her first book to publish...how exciting! It definitely drew me in right away and I could picture things as they happened. I enjoyed how Louise was hesitant at trusting God with her future and then near the end surrendered her life to Him. It was neat to see the difference that made too. The main thing that I didn't like(and I hate to say something negative, but I know Jordy would like an 4.5Isolated is a great book! The main thing that I didn't like(and I hate to say something negative, but I know Jordy would like an honest review:) is I felt that there was a lot of the same thing over and over...so sometimes it felt a bit repetitive in each chapter. And of course, there were many unanswered questions, but I'm sure those will be answered in the coming books. Overall I think the author did an awesome job with her first book!!! Wonderful job, Jordy!
