Star Trek
Unlike the novel, the comic will spend more time exploring the Klingons' backstory. The cover of the first issue features Klingon leader T'Kuvma, played by Chris Obi on the show.

I enjoyed learning more of the backstory of T'Kuvma and meeting more of his family. Also I found the Klingon story to be easier to understand in this format then on television where the actors are speaking in Klingon and the subtitles are flying by. I didn't grow up watching Star Trek and first dipped my toes in the Trek waters not long ago with Voyager (hardly any Klingons in site for the most part). Thus Klingons are fairly new to me and the language is very foreign.

Prequel to the new Star Trek Discovery Series. This is 1/4 in a series covering the rise of T'Kuvma prior to the battle of the Binary Stars. Read it with my daughter, who is becoming a bit of a Trekkie. Not bad, enjoyed it.
