Lips Close to Mine (Wherever You Go, #2)
I wasn’t supposed to see Levi Pierce ever again. A few months ago, he charmed the pants off me and we spent one incredible night together.End of story.Only it wasn’t. Pretty soon everywhere I turn, I see him. Our best friends are dating. My mother mistakenly—and happily—thinks he’s my plus-one to my cousin’s wedding. And he’s the guy I have to work with on the most important job opportunity of my life. Here’s my problem: I like Levi. I like his killer smile and his dreamboat eyes and definitely the way he makes me feel in bed. But I’ve sworn off relationships. So when the sexual tension reaches epic proportions and we fall back into bed together, I tell myself it’s temporary. When I start to feel more, I tell myself it’s over. Only Levi isn’t a forget-it kind of guy. When his lips are close to mine and he swears he’s always wanted me, my defenses disappear. But some things in life just aren’t meant to be.Or are they?

There aren’t many authors who I’ll literally drop everything for, but Robin Bielman is one of them. I always look forward to her releases hugely and Lips Close to Mine is her at her best, capturing all I love in a romance: strong chemistry, emotion, the perfect blend of humour, angst and sexy-time, unforgettable characters and a man who will steal your heart. “Levi Pierce is impossible to forget. He’s also maddening, infuriating, irritating, and the reason my body hums even when he’s not near.” There aren’t many authors who I’ll literally drop everything for, but Robin Bielman is one of them. He’s also maddening, infuriating, irritating, and the reason my body hums even when he’s not near.” If you haven’t read Talk British to Me , fear not as Lips Close to Mine can easily be read as a stand-alone. Harper and Levi were fairly prominent though as secondary characters and I had an inkling their story wouldn’t be a bed of roses. I went into this already having a bit of a soft spot for Levi and when he and Harper find themselves working together, he really shows us what he’s made of: he wears his heart on his sleeve and is all for a repeat performance of their one night together...all he has to do is convince her that they could be more. “Love is a sickness, and I have no intention of catching it.” Within a couple of chapters, Levi and Harper owned me. Robin has taken all I love from the childhood friends, friends-with-benefits and fauxmance tropes, and bundled them up together to create a sexy, engaging, heartfelt and emotional journey for two characters whose hearts have been left bruised, battered and guarded over recent years although not by each other. And that’s what made them so special, because their pain is real and relatable, as are their fears, and whilst it’s shaped them, they haven’t let it beat them. This could have so easily been a heavier read but with the angst aspect pitched perfectly and counterbalanced with fun and humour, along with no shortage of hot and sexy shenanigans, it was instead an effortless read and one I stayed up into the wee hours to finish. I adored Levi and Harper—the dual POV really gives you the opportunity to get to know them both intimately—it was lovely to catch up with Teague and Mateo and is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourites Robin has written. And, being 99.9% certain I know who the next book in the series will belong to, I can’t wait to see what treats their story will hold. “Your heart is your friend, not your enemy.” Copy generously provided by the author.

Stars!Robin Bielman gives us the second book in the Wherever You Go series; Lips Close to Mine, which is Levi and Harper’s story. Both featured heavily in Talk British to Me in that they were close friends of the leads, so I knew from what we learned about them in the telling of that story that sparks were going to fly, especially as Levi was supposed to be a one night stand that Harper never saw again, having him constantly in her life thereafter makes things all sorts of complicated for her. Love is a sickness, and I have no intention of catching it. But rather than back off and take offense at her snark, rudeness and general disinterest he thrives on it, and his efforts to get her to turn her frown upside down when he was around were pretty endearing, especially as he pretty much lets every rebuff roll right off his back, to only then come right back again for more."This isn’t over…"As you would expect things gradually morph into more around the building of a solid friendship, but it’s also clear both of them are dealing with a few personal demons as well, and as the connection between them deepens the revelations also start to show that both of them are pretty good at keeping their real feelings and emotions about things very close to their hearts. He’s putting me back together slowly but surely, in more ways than one. There is a little bit of secondary drama in this one that I found to be a bit erroneous to be honest, Levi and Harper, already had enough of their own issues and commitment phobias to work through without the addition of a rather pointless ex popping up, but other than that I enjoyed the banter, the bluster, the chemistry and emotional connection between the two of them, and the story the author gave them. "You’re just afraid to admit that you really like him and have more than a physical connection going on."The rest of the characters that you got to know in the first book are very relevant in this one too so everything moved along quite fluidly because of it too."You’re an easy person to get caught up in…"A great addition to the series, I look forward to seeing where Robin takes it next.ARC generously provided by the author, in exchange for the above honest review.

This is Levi's story.Loaded with the ups and downs of dating and friends, along with the sleeping with a past friend but he/she cannot know I adore him/her scenes, the story gives us a taste of romance that is loaded with a bit of frenzy, family hysteria, passion, and also humor as only Robin Bielman can serve up. So entertaining and yet realistic too. I wanted more from the ending tho! boo-hissThe author is so good at crafting a swoony love story loaded with hot ass guys you want to date along with girlfriends and wives you want to befriend. I will never tire of her stories!

These two twenty-three-year-olds may not have seemed to have a lot in terms of quantity stacked against them, but the baggage could have very well been insurmountable had either one of them given up on themselves and each other. Neither Levi nor Harper is at the point where they're over what happened with his ex-girlfriend and with her first love, though in Levi's case. I don't want to go into specifics, though if you've read book one in the series, then you'll have some idea what Levi's ex did and why Levi's friends hate her as much as they do. Harper's back story, particularly the one to do with her high school boyfriend, is heartrending, and there's a particular point in the story where she reveals to Levi what occurred when she and her boyfriend were sixteen that had me reaching for a tissue. It put everything that I knew about her up to that point into perspective.Lips Close to Mine still brings with it moments of levity and lightheartedness that were a constant in Talk British to Me. However, this second in a series did have more angst but it's a warranted kind of angst. You'll get what I mean when you read the book, and I'm seriously encouraging--imploring!--you to do just that. Read this book. Read both books (in order, please, even if they can absolutely be read as standalones). I'm going to qualify my next statement by fully admitting that I haven't read ALL of Robin Bielman's books, but based on the ones that I have read, I'm going to say that this is her at her very best. She isn't telling you a story, and neither are her main characters. Nope, Bielman has made it possible for her readers to experience what Levi and Harper have and are going through. She made me feel and she so made me believe in the healing power of love. This book was everything. Five-plus stars. ♥

She brings her characters to life in the pages of her books, sharing their flaws alongside their trials and tribulations. There are many laugh out loud moments in this fun read which is delightful to escape into and I have no hesitation in highly recommending. It is a great addition to the series but still works well as a standalone. I look forward to reading more from this author in future.I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. She was a well developed female lead, but her past experiences made it hard for me to relate to her and I questioned some of her decisions. By the end of the book, which went off on some unnecessary tangents, I felt a lot closer to Harper and learned to appreciate her circumstances. Levi is living his dream as a cameraman in the industry, and being a photographer myself I felt an instant connection with the cocky, sexy and often adorable Levi. Readers will fall in love with the troubled past that creates havoc in Levi’s daily life. I think these two reconnected childhood friends are the best at showing how someone can be your safe haven and help you heal from a traumatic past and still live life full of love and happiness. Bielman has yet again taken us on a comedic, sexy adventure readers won't want to put down.

After reading Talk British to Me (book 1 in the Wherever You Go series), I knew I needed more Robin Bielman in my life. The story, although a complete standalone, does carry on from Talk British to Me with Mateo’s flatmate being Levi and Teague’s flatmate being Harper. After hooking up with Levi in a bar and having a one night stand with him, Harper has no intention of ever seeing him again, she’s had her heart broken once, and she isn’t willing to let it happen ever again. What she doesn’t plan on is the fact that they seem to have so many mutual contacts that it is practically impossible for her to avoid him, one thing she does know though.....there is not going to be a repeat performance of that night, ever again. I loved the story, so emotional in places, yet with so much humour. Told in dual POV we get to see both characters flaws, of which there are a few, both have their demons, along with some well founded trust issues. With wonderful writing, lots of sexy moments and a whole host of interesting characters I was hooked from the first page, a firm five star read for me. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I like this book. I'll skip the blurb and get right down to it. Levi and Harper have been friends for a while. Friends covers the one night stand they had a couple years ago. Harper doesn't want to see Levi and now since her best friend is dating Levi's best friend and roommate it leaves Harper with few options. Add to that the job she wants very badly, working for a water safety program is run by his brother in law and Harper is set to shoot some PSA's for the fledgling program. Add to that the job she wants very badly, working for a water safety program is run by his brother in law and Harper is set to shoot some PSA's for the fledgling program. Stuck in a pinch Brad calls his brother in law to fill in... yep it's Levi. Harper has a very personal reason for wanting this job so badly and it isn't because she absolutely doesn't want to work for her father who continues to pressure her to join the family business. They're a wealthy clan these folks. She and roomie live in the guest house behind her aunts mansion. So, coupled with Levi filming the PSA's with her, her cousins wedding gets moved up by months, yes you know the whole pregnancy thing and Harper is in the wedding. Sigh. It's one thing after the other. Only Brad, who was then her swim coach when she was 16 and headed for Nationals and possibly the Olympics when she suddenly stopped swimming, her family and her best friend know why Harper doesn't date, she refuses to discuss her past even though it's quite obvious to Levi there's some issues there. He's got his own. An ex that yanked his young chain every which way and makes a grand appearance in this book. No one likes her and even Levi's roommate threaten to take out a restraining order on her if she shows back up at their house. I loved that part!! Throw in some steam and presto!Levi shares his past hoping to get a glimpse into Harpers. No such luck. But then one night...But these two have two very different views on their relationship. That was interesting to watch that unfold, and when the two of them verbalized how they saw things... well... let me tell you. NOT! I'm not telling you. This was a great story, it ran a little long but that's my own personal opinion. It was the ongoing dialogue that made it so. I have to hand it to Levi, he never gave up! You have to love a guy who is persistent in the best way!Great story and a must read. **arc from NetGalley and Entangled in exchange for a fair review**

Lips Close to Mine is her latest release and it's the second book from the Wherever You Go series. But before I tell you a little bit more about this story I need to tell you something. Despite all books are standalones you really should read Talk British to Me. Harper and Levi are the main characters for this book and they are both someone to remember. These two known each other since they were kids but weren't tight friends. One day Harper needed a date to go to a wedding and thought of him. End result they hook up one night and they thought that it was it. One wild night, full of desire and they would follow their paths away from each other but life has other ideas for them. Levi's best friend is dating Harper's best friend so they will find each other again. They had both been hurt in the past and they don't easly trust but things will happen. And I can't say more. This book was, like I was expecting, a fun and intense reading. The plot is amazing, sweet, very well written, and had the ability to hook me up from the beginning. Dayum I wanted to keep going and going. The hot stuff is there too so get ready guys. The interation between the characters is raw, bumpy with lots of stubbornness into the mix. Jeez these two are... I laughed, I cursed, I blushed all at once and I'm so happy to had read this book. It was so good to hear from Teague and Mateo because I missed them. Amaxing book Robin and I want more. An overall a very enjoyable read.Harper was a character that had to overcome many obstacles. Swimming is her passion, but it also reminds her of a very difficult time in her life. Though through swimming she's trying to make a difference and also heal. And without knowing that in one of her assignments she'd be working alongside the one person that she hasn't stopped thinking about since their first encounter. And also, he might be the person who can help her and tear down the walls she's built around her heart.Levi! Levi was also dealing with problems of his own. Especially with one crazy ex-girlfriend. She scarred him in such a profound way. It's taken Levi time to put his hurtful past behind him. Harper enters his life in a much needed time. And even though he wasn't expecting to fall for Harper, it happened and there's nothing he can do about it.Harper and Levi were the freaking sweetest. Any more of those two I was sure to get a cavity. Levi was such a sweetheart and so patient with Harper. They both helped each other in ways neither of them thought possible. They had me smiling so big my cheeks hurt. I couldn't get enough of these two lovebirds. "He fills the spaces inside me I don’t give anyone access to. I felt like I went a little deeper with Levi and Harper for some reason. The tone felt more serious overall, but I wouldn't call this an overly angsty or emotional book. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, a ton of time spent smiling dreamily at my Kindle, and I walked away with a full and happy heart. But it's definitely emotional and it's not completely without angst. It's just a whole balanced package, really and I adored it.Speaking of adoring, let's talk about Levi. *swoony sigh*. This guy. I couldn't get enough of him. He stole my heart and made it race and skip beats and do all kinds of crazy "falling in love" acrobatics. He was perfect. The perfect hero, and perfect for Harper, who despite her fair amount of baggage and reinforced walls around her heart - did her own fair share of stealing mine. These two together were all fiery chemistry, adorable banter and sweet, sensual moments. I loved the storytelling. This book was effortless to read, and interesting to boot (even beyond the love story). It works just fine as a standalone, but since I did read (and LOVE) Talk British to Me, I loved catching up with Mateo and Teague a bit. Honestly - I loved everything. This is only the second book I've read by Ms. Bielman, but based on the way I've devoured both of them and the sort of euphoric high I find myself in at their conclusion - it's probably safe to say that I'm a huge fan now and will most definitely be back for more! ~ Shelly, 5 Stars

Unlike their friends who are dating, Levi and Harper have a long history. Having known each other since they were just kids, the pair have an easy chemistry that makes Lips Close to Mine such a joy to read.“Pants Charming – that’s what I call him because he could seriously charm the pants off me with only his stupid smile – is a problem I have to learn to deal with.”

Robin Bielman is one of my favorite authors and this story simply cements her spot at the top of my must-buy list! Lips Close to Mine is Levi and Harper’s story, for those of you keeping up with the Wherever You Go series, but it can easily be read as a standalone so don’t hesitate to dive into the series here. Their families know each other. They’re both hired for different aspects of the same professional project. Their fate is sealed almost from the start, but it is pure fun—and just the right amount of heartbreaking—watching them fight against the inevitable! And the way the story plays out doesn’t feel inevitable at all. It feels like pure magic the likes of which only Ms. Bielman can weave!Just like in book one of this series, Talk British to Me, fun secondary characters abound. I will follow the series wherever it leads, but I’m anxiously awaiting Madison and Elliot’s story next!

Their moms met at Mommy and Me swim classes. In fact, from the ages of three to seven, they were inseparable. They lost contact when they ended up going to different schools. Now years later, fate has brought them back together.Through the years, Harper and Levi have been through a lot and carry emotional scars. Harper has convinced herself that love and relationships aren’t for her. Levi isn’t looking for a relationship either, but he does believe in them and love. They’re both good people with great personalities and a lot to offer the world and a special someone. The two reconnect after meeting at a bar and have a one-night stand. To their surprise, they later discover that their best friends/roommates are dating. This means that they have to spend time together. To Harper’s dismay, she discovers that in order to get a job with a non-profit that’s near and dear to her heart, she has to work with Levi on several PSA’s. This forces them to spend more time together and slowly the wall Harper has hid behind starts to slowly crumble. There are several reasons to love Lips Close to Mine. At the top of the list is Levi. Robin continues to write sweet, dream worthy heroes. This man is funny and really good at writing his feelings on paper. Harper is a refreshing surprise. Her scars truly run deep and her emotional baggage is heartbreaking. I loved watching her move outside of her comfort zone. Harper and Levi’s journey towards love isn’t an easy one. At times it’s fun, rocky, passionate, and heart-wrenching. But in the end, you will believe in the power of love and friendship.**Received a copy from the author and reviewed voluntarily.**

The first book in the series (Talk British To Me) from author Robin Bielman was an outstanding read, so I was elated at the opportunity of reviewing Lips Close To Mine, the second instalment in the Wherever You Go series. While there were some likeable elements in the story, I felt it did not meet expectations. The characters actions and shenanigans felt contrived in scenes which did not sit well. Overall, this read did not leap at me.Review copy received from Entangled Publishing via Netgalley

Levi and Harper's story was everything I'd hoped it would be when we got glimpses of it in Talk British to Me and more! (No worries, though--it does work as a standalone, but if you've read the other book and needed to know what was going on with those two, your wait is finally over!)I'll admit there were times I wanted to smack Harper upside the head for how she was letting fear run her life, but at the same time it was 100% believable that she did, and so I stuck with her--as did Levi, and I Levi and Harper's story was everything I'd hoped it would be when we got glimpses of it in Talk British to Me and more! LOVED this second book in the Whereever You Go series. This is easily read standalone but I think you'd really enjoy the first book, Talk British to Me as well. This is Levi's story and it's fabulous!! Levi and Harper are amazing together. Their relationship is complicated. Well, not really, but Harper has up so many walls it makes it complicated. Levi plans on tearing down every one of her walls and find out exactly what the problem is. It won't be easy but he's certain he's up for the challeng LOVED this second book in the Whereever You Go series. A beautifully sentimental and humorous romance…Firstly I’d like to say that this is my first Bielman read, I’ve had her on my TBR for quite some time and when Lips Close To Mine came up for review I jumped at the chance. I feel like like I need to explain that although this is a standalone, there are certain parts that make direct reference to the first book, Talk British To Me. This is book #2 in the Wherever You Go series. I feel like like I need to explain that although this is a standalone, there are certain parts that make direct reference to the first book, Talk British To Me. Personally, I felt a little like an outsider at those moments because I didn’t have the context. So, the lesson in that is that I should’ve read book one first…I will be reading it ASAP and then will be re-reading Lips Close To Mine as I am 100% certain that it’ll be a pretty flawless read with all the context. If that even makes sense. Saying that, I want to make certain that I absolutely enjoyed this book.Plot wise, it’s not the most original, but I felt like the characters offered the plot a fresh breath of life. I loved Levi, for me he is the heart and soul of this story, whereas Harper is definitely the fire and sass. These two characters complement each other so well. Levi is definitely the ying to Harper’s yang. That sounds so very unintentionally dirty…oh dear! I found the plot quite sophisticated for a rom com. There’s so much more to the angsty will they, won’t they thing. I feel like once you peel back that layer there is a very emotional story at the core. Especially when you start to get glimpses of their backstories and with that their personal demons. This is definitely one of those stories that takes you completely by surprise. I definitely thought that it was more of a laugh out loud, feel-good romance, but actually, although it was definitely that, it was also a very heart felt and poignant clincher. It has the perfect mix of comedic value, angst and sweetness with a touch of of a dark undertone. There were a few times that this story really got to me in more ways than one. Firstly, Levi…holy freaking baby Jesus! This guy is just so sweet and kind, yet he has these moments of pure dirt and filthy that have your heart dropping to the pit of your stomach and your tongue lolling onto the floor. If there ever was a guy that was proficient in the chase, Levi is it. I kept waiting for him to turn around and tell Harper to shove her snarky, rude and just plain stupid attitude and do one…but the more lemons she served him the more sweetness he made. Jesus, the guy must go around cleaning puddles… Sorry, too much? So, yes, I love Levi. To be honest, I do love Harper too. I think she’s quite an easy character to misunderstand because of the bravado she puts up. In some ways she’s a bit like Marmite, you’re either going to love her or you’re going to hate her. BUT, I think the more you get to know her the more you can empathise with her and her standoffishness. Honestly, I love the cast of this book, and even not having read Talk British To Me, I know that I’m going to love Teague and Mateo!Robin Bielman has completely won me over. I love her beautiful writing style and talent, and I just love the way in which the interactions between her characters are so very realistic and in some ways so very unpredictable. I really enjoyed Lips Close To Mine and I cannot wait to get stuck into Talk British To Me. I can see this being one of those books that you enjoy the more times you read it. My only complaint is that although this is a standalone, it is interconnected with book one, which means that there are some parts where you kind of need to have read book one in order to appreciate the moment. Saying that, if you’re not one of those people that needs to know everything about everyone and their uncle…this may not be something that even flags for you. My point is, that although those moments aren’t as personal to the reader, that doesn’t impact the story as such and in my opinion many readers won’t even blink at it. I’m just me…fussy.

But some things in life just aren’t meant to be.Or are they?•••••••••••REVIEW: LIPS CLOSE TO MINE is the second instalment in Robin Bielman’s contemporary, adult WHEREVER YOU GO erotic, romance series. This is photographer and cameraman Levi Pierce, and twenty three year old Harper McKinney’s story line. LIPS CLOSE TO MINE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.Told from dual first person perspectives (Levi and Harper) LIPS CLOSE TO MINE follows the building relationship between photographer and cameraman Levi Pierce, and Harper McKinney, a woman struggling with ghosts from the past. Harper and Levi were childhood friends but somewhere along the way, the grew up and went in opposite directions. Several months earlier Harper and Levi reconnected for a sexy one-night stand, a night neither one is willing to forget…but Harper doesn’t do relationships, and Levi’s heart was destroyed by a previous love. A chance to work together brings Levi and Harper back into one another’s radar, and the proverbial sparks continue to fly. Levi Pierce battles between his head and his heart-a heart that begins to beat for our story line heroine but a heart destroyed by a previous love. The relationship between Harper and Levi is one of second chances, of a sort between childhood friends who reconnect following a one-night stand; whose best roommates, best friends and siblings are all interconnected making for some uneasy moments in the palpable sexual attraction between our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Mateo and Teague (Talk British to Me #1), as well as a large number of acquaintances, friends and family-extended or otherwise, Harper’s old swim coach Brad Halloran, and Levi’s roommate Elliott.LIPS CLOSE TO MINE is a story of friendship and love; memories and loss; forgiveness and moving forward with moments of humor and fun, conflict and tears. The premise is sexy, edgy and impassioned; the characters are colorful and charismatic; the romance is heartwarming and emotional. LIPS CLOSE TO MINE reveals the tortured secrets of two people who have loved and loss but are willing to take a second chance on love-once again.Copy supplied by the publisherwww.thereadingcafe.com

I would call this a friends to lovers story, but also a second chance story. Harper and Levi were best friends and inseparable since they were babies until they were six years old. Then they were changed to different schools and lost touch. Now Levi’s best friend is going out with Harper’s best friend, so they were thrown together, and had a one-night stand. At least, for Harper. She recognized that Pants Charming could charm her pants off very easily so she’s veering out of his way. Then they were changed to different schools and lost touch. Now Levi’s best friend is going out with Harper’s best friend, so they were thrown together, and had a one-night stand. At least, for Harper. She recognized that Pants Charming could charm her pants off very easily so she’s veering out of his way. She’s very susceptible to Levi’s smile. Fast forward several months to where the action starts in this book.Seven years ago, someone important to Harper drowned and she still hasn’t overcome that loss. She was training for the Olympics swim team and the incident broke her will to continue with her goals. For a while she hardly lived, and it took getting acquainted again with swimming, by way of giving lessons, that brought her back. So she doesn’t want to get involved with anyone, even Levi who bewitched her with his smiles. She doesn’t want to feel that pain ever again.Levi himself is still overcoming the betrayal of an ex-girlfriend who messed up his mind. Until recently, she was still stalking and messaging him, but she cheated on Levi with another guy and got pregnant. Levi was still reeling from the betrayal, so he only wanted a fling, no serious relation.Their attraction was too strong to resist. The connection they had from when they were kids caused that they had an easy going connection, and they could chat and joke for hours, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. Each one brought a relief and relaxation to the other that no-one else could. Since Harper had a cousin’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid, Levi was a convenient escort, so that ensured they were together a lot.So there you have it, sexual fun and reluctance to get involved. And Levi had a bet with one of his besties, Neil, that he could get Harper to bed a second time. As Levi’s feelings for Harper intensified, the bet was a bad idea that he tried to nix but Elliot didn’t let him. Another conflict for them. The past in the form of the psycho ex-girlfriend came to complicate matters, their work was also an issue since they worked together in a Public Service Announcement. They both had goals and Levi was very supportive of Harper’s goals and helped her choose her direction.I liked the story and liked both characters, but there were a couple of things that threw me off. One was the constant innuendos of sex, in conversations, in gestures, in their thoughts. They really felt insatiable and for me, it retracted from the story. At one point I considered not reading any more because it was getting a little too much. Later on, things got better and the author got more invested in the story and I liked it much more. Then Harper got too stubborn in her refusal to date Levi and ran scared several times, to the point I wanted to swat her. I loved one scene where she went to Levi’s house and there was a pretty woman just leaving and kissed Levi goodbye. Harper was devastated and was about to run away until Levi told her it was his sister. Serves her right for being so stubborn! The reading was light-hearted except for a couple angsty moments and was an entertaining read. I liked the author’s writing style because there’s no excessive prose and she combines humor and with some angst and lots of family time, the excess sexy times at the beginning notwithstanding.
