Tamed by a Tiger (Eternal Mates, #13)
A snow leopard shifter in the prime of his life, the last thing on August’s mind is tying himself to one female. He welcomes a different one to his bed each night, or at least he had until five months ago when he became alpha. The duties and pressures of running his pride have his libido dead on arrival—until a trip to London to discuss business with the former alpha lands him in the path of a beautiful, bewitching tigress who awakens a passion in him that flares white hot and a need of her that consumes his every moment.Promised at birth to a male she has never met, Maya has left her pride behind to go to the tiger alpha who is to be her mate, but she can’t leave without saying goodbye to her older brother, Talon. A stop in London at Underworld to see him one last time turns out far different, and far more dangerous, than how she had imagined it when she sets eyes on an alluring crimson-haired stranger who stirs new, unbidden feelings in her, desires that rouse her fiercest and most frightening instincts and demand she stake a claim on him—her fated mate. Will Maya be strong enough to place her pride and her family’s safety before the desires of her own heart? And will August unravel his feelings for the black-haired beauty before it’s too late and he loses her forever?

I freely admit that this is my favourite series by this author with its mixture of Elves, Demons, Shifters and anything else the author can dream up. Yes I perhaps favour the Elves but the Shifter stories always help to flesh out the storylines. So getting my hands on this book about a somewhat lost snow leopard Alpha and a Tiger whose a lot more than she seems had me doing a happy dance. If you enjoy the idea of these fated mates claiming each other against all odds then you might be pleasantly I freely admit that this is my favourite series by this author with its mixture of Elves, Demons, Shifters and anything else the author can dream up. Yes I perhaps favour the Elves but the Shifter stories always help to flesh out the storylines. So getting my hands on this book about a somewhat lost snow leopard Alpha and a Tiger whose a lot more than she seems had me doing a happy dance. If you enjoy the idea of these fated mates claiming each other against all odds then you might be pleasantly surprised by the twist used here.So essentially we have August still trying to do the right thing for his pride and he really is floundering but he's hit upon the idea of visiting the previous Alpha for advice. You and I know he could lift a phone or something but yep August really is kind of all over the place initially.Maya has been pledged since birth to an Alpha she's never met and her brother has declared that now is the time to make her journey. Problem is there are wicked rumours about Pyotr but Maya is dogmatic in her decision to sacrifice herself. So the last thing she expects is to meet the male who should be her forever mate! Fate can be cruel but Maya will not turn back now .I love the way this author writes as it just flows by so easily. The twist here is that from the outset Maya is so territorial about August and prepared to challenge anyone even August himself! I loved that Maya could be this fierce fighter so it did feel a little unbalanced when she constantly seemed to want to throw away something so precious. Yes August is an Alpha but sheesh it took him a while to get his act into gear! Ok I can't fault his enthusiasm when he does decide to act but it did feel very different to the way previous male heroes in this series have been portrayed. I guess I have my favourites but I do like the animalistic side of these possessive Shifters. Exciting and fast paced with a sexy interlude thrown in. I thought the plot perhaps a smidgen simpler than others in the series but I can't deny it held my attention. If you enjoy paranormal romance then this author should definitely be on your wish list.I received an advance copy of this and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

TAMED BY A TIGER was the perfect example of this with Talon’s sister front-and-center, and plenty of other kitty shifters along for the ride. This book touches base with Cavanaugh’s pride following his abdication to August as alpha. I liked seeing how his cousin was faring in his new leadership role, and his response when confronted with a similar dilemma to the one that had caused his predecessor to step down. He’s burdened by his responsibilities, seeks advice at Underworld, and the protagonist’s approach to solving his predicament is very different than his pridemate’s.I wasn’t sure how Maya would make out as this novel’s female lead because out of all the tigers that were introduced in the earlier volume, she stood out the least in my eyes. But, her sparring match with August, and her love-him-and-leave-him attitude won me over after the first one hundred pages. She may have been overshadowed by her brothers for most of her life however, when it was time to step up, she did so without hesitation.Maya actually showing up for her arranged marriage came as a bit of a surprise. I’d thought that August would have thrown a wrench into that plan much sooner, although admittedly, his dramatic entrance to snatch her from Pyotr’s arms on her wedding day ratcheted up the entertainment value tenfold. I was also very excited to learn that the author granted my wish—Grey will be headlining in the next title scheduled for September! If you need to give in to love, TAMED BY A TIGER is not a bad way to go!

Tamed by a Tiger was a pleasant addition to the Eternal Mates series. We do meet both Maya and August in previous books, but even if you haven’t read any of the previous books you can still pick this one up and go. Maya is stopping off in London to say good-bye to her brother; before heading on her way to an arranged mating to another Tiger Alpha. She feels it’s her duty to protect the pride by going through with the mating. I had a delightful time reading this one. It’s an action-packed adventure with strong characters who end up learning to fight for what they need to be happy in life. These two go through a number of emotions. Maya is very and I mean very determined to go through with the arranged mating and August, as leader, is expect to take a Snow Leopard as a mate. Their doesn’t seam to be a way out for either of them. The thing that bothered me was Maya's inner dialogue, the determination to go through with the mating, and sacrifice so much. It just got to be too much. Her bloodline is unique and it makes her different. She’s powerful, strong, and alpha, but she was giving up instead of standing up for herself and what she really wanted in life. Sacrifice is all and good, but when your brothers are warning you not to do this.. Well maybe you should listen. She did finally come to her senses, but not until after meeting her betrothed male, who btw is not a nice Alpha, does she make a plan to stand up and fight. Tamed by a Tiger has a hint of danger and plenty of heat. I’m looking forward to the next installment. Tamed by a Tiger is the 13th book in Felicity Heaton's Eternal Mates series and has just the type of heart-racingly amazing romance that one would expect from one of her books. READERS YE BE WARNED!Click to Show Review (view spoiler)[How this woman manages to write and release 3 books in as many months is beyond me. Either way you won't see me complaining, more awesome paranormal romance novels for me. Our main male is August, an old character from way back in Cavanaugh's book Claimed by an Alpha, and it was awesome to hear what he had been up to since his ascension to the Alpha position. Tamed by a Tiger is the second of three tiger shifter centred romances that Ms Heaton is releasing this year and the stories just keep getting better.Welcome to the world of romance novels where, for the most part, they all follow a similar plot path. As you would expect, this book is filled with ROMANCE (insert jazz fingers) and lots of SexyTimesTM, though definitely not as many as some of her previous books... Actually there is only one sex scene which is really an anomaly. Like most romance novels, besides the actual romance bit, there is quite a bit of action which, as usual, centres around the main chicky-babe and her, sometimes questionable, decisions. Naturally our buff and extremely attractive male lead has to rush off and save the day but, like most of Felicity's books, our equally attractive female lead usually does help out in said "saving of the day."While I'm super happy to see lots of my old favourite characters from previous Eternal Mates books, I really think Kyter (again, a character from a previous book) should consider taking in less strays (Strays, hehehe. I'm really the only one who finds me funny) especially when they happen to be other cat shifters which cause him to go all ape-crazy and throw a tantrum over territorial bull shit when meeting each new edition. Speaking of other cat shifters, I have to wonder something, in all of these books the cat shifters all strip naked before they shift... Why? Why bother? Tigers and lions and jaguars and just about every other large cat species out there in the world are exactly that, BIG. Wouldn't they just shift and rip their clothing to shreds like Jacob Black does in New Moon? Maybe I'm overestimating how big tigers are but I've seen a lion and those boys are HUGE! While a tiger running around with a pair of boxers on would potentially be funny, I don't think the elastic stretches quite that far.Character Appreciation/Disdain (Sometimes a rant but what can you do?)August: August has truly endeared me to him simply because he is definitely less "macho man" than some of Felicity's other male leads. In saying that however, he is, and I don't really like to be mean, quite dense about certain things i.e. whether or not a chick is his mate (he can be forgiven for not knowing about her hellcat blood but even then he really should've worked it out sooner). I must say that I do like August a bit better than Talon but he is still not Felicity's best male lead (that spot is reserved for Snow from VET). Other than that, August is your standard romance novel lead except that he can turn into a giant cat (which is pretty freaking awesome if you ask me!).Maya: I like Maya, I do, but if she could potentially stop being so freaking noble that would be just groovy. She may be good at finding her way out of troublesome situations but she is also terribly good at getting herself into them. I do understand why she put herself in such a dangerous situation (you'll have to read the book to find out what that is) but I kind of think but they could've come up with a better plan to deal with the situation if they had put their minds to it and if she had made up her mind not to go through with it earlier.Ms Heaton puts quite a bit of effort into the world building of each paranormal race she uses in her books. In saying that she is also the queen of getting around all the rules she sets for each species. If you have read all of the previous Eternal Mates books you would know that snow leopard shifters, like August, can normally only find their mate within their own species. However, as we learned from her last book, Turned by a Tiger, Maya and her brothers have a hellcat in their ancestry which pretty much means they don't have to follow any of the other cat shifter rules i.e. They can turn people into tigers if they want to and they can find their mate in any species out there. Which is awesome because otherwise Maya and August wouldn't be able to get together and we would have no story.Felicity Heaton's romance books never fail to bring a smile to my face. Filled with fun characters, scorching romance, and oh so much action, I have yet to find one that I don't like. Even though each book in the Eternal Mates series can be read as a standalone, I recommend that you read all of them in order starting from the Vampire Erotic Theatre series and continuing on to the Eternal Mates series (they are both set in the same "world"), if only so that you are familiar with some of the recurring characters and events that may have influenced some of the other stories. In conclusion, if you are looking for a short, fun read or are simply looking to break into reading romance novels, I highly recommend reading any of Ms Heaton's works (but mostly the VET or the Eternal Mates series' because they are my favourites). August took over as Alpha of his pride when his cousin Cavanaugh abdicated to be with his mate Eloise. The responsibility weighs heavy on his shoulders and with upcoming trade negotiations August has come to Underworld to ask for Cavanaugh's advice. Maya is a tiger shifter who was promised to the alpha of another pack at birth, the last thing she really wants is to move away from her home to be with a man she's never met but she feels she owes it to her pack and to her parent's memory to do what August took over as Alpha of his pride when his cousin Cavanaugh abdicated to be with his mate Eloise. The responsibility weighs heavy on his shoulders and with upcoming trade negotiations August has come to Underworld to ask for Cavanaugh's advice. Maya is a tiger shifter who was promised to the alpha of another pack at birth, the last thing she really wants is to move away from her home to be with a man she's never met but she feels she owes it to her pack and to her parent's memory to do what they planned for her. Travelling with her brother Grey to Siberia for her wedding they stop in at Underworld to visit their other brother Talon so she can say goodbye. The last thing she expects is to find her fated mate, especially not in the form of a snow leopard alpha. As much as she longs to be with August she knows a future between them is impossible and she fears backing out of her arranged marriage would put her pack in danger but can they find a way to be together against all the odds?I really enjoyed Tamed by a Tiger, this series has always been a favourite of mine but I've been enjoying getting to know this family of tiger shifters and I'm really hoping that Grey's book might be next! Maya is in a really difficult position, her oldest brother who is the pack alpha, has ordered her to go ahead with the marriage her parents arranged for her but her two other brothers are dead set against the idea. They've both heard terrible rumours about her future husband but that only makes her more fearful that if she doesn't go through with it her fiancé will attack everyone she loves and attempt to destroy her whole pack. As much as she longs for a different future she knows what needs to be done but she wants to claim one powerful memory of her own to see her through the difficult future that lies ahead of her.August is drowning in a responsibility he never asked for since he took over as alpha, it's a position he has very little experience for but he's determined to do a good job and keep his people safe. He's immediately drawn to Maya but being a foolish man he doesn't recognise the signs that she is his fated one. He is so blind to the possibility that he almost loses her forever but luckily he comes to his senses in time. The snow leopards have a lot of stupid traditions about mating within a strict hierarchy so even when Cavanaugh found his fated mate they wouldn't accept the match because she wasn't high born enough. That means that they'll never accept an outsider as their alpha's mate but August has had just about enough of a useless tradition that is only hurting the people he cares about so he's determined to change the way things work.I don't want to say too much more but I really enjoyed the romance between Maya and August, things happen very quickly between couples in this series - that whole fated mates thing means emotions become involved very quickly - but somehow it just works for me every time. I guess because I know what I'm getting going in and Felicity Heaton always does such a brilliant job of creating a connection between her characters that goes beyond the physical. This was another great instalment to a series that is still going strong and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

I discovered Felicity Heaton's work a while back, but I fell behind on the Eternal Mates series. When I saw Tamed by a Tiger had come out, I was eager to dive back in. Boy, am I kicking my butt for falling behind!I'm so picky about my shifter romances. Believably is a hurdle I usually encounter, especially in making the mating connection work. I'm not a fan of instalove. This book (and this series), however, have blown me away in all of those aspects. But the last thing she wants to do is let her pack and her brothers down. It's on a side trip to tell her brother of her intentions that she runs into snow leopard shifter, August. Her inner tiger is roaring for her to mark August as hers, but with Maya stretched thin and her loyalties divided, she just may get herself into more trouble than she can handle. Maya is one badass gal! She leapt off the page instantly for me. While sheltered, she's got an inner core of steel. Running into August has her inner feline roaring and purring at the same time. This was so well done. The insta-connection just works. The chemistry and pheromones are flying. I always get scorching hot scenes, and Tamed by a Tiger is no exception.I also enjoyed August. Red hair, silver eyes, sleek but strong. August never wanted to be alpha, but he finds himself as pack alpha anyway. He's trying to figure out his own position and uphold pack tradition when he meets Maya. But there's more to Maya than meets the eye. Losing her might just be more than he can bear. The plot takes off about halfway through in another direction, and I was rivetted to every page of this delightfully thrilling story. The side characters were great too. I'm dying to see more of Maya's brother, Grey. He's just as sheltered as Maya has been, and there's so much potential. I also need to go back and read about Talon and Cavanaugh.I'd recommend this book to any dedicated shifter fans. Possessiveness, sweetness, sexiness...you'll find it all here, and you'll hold your breath until the very end.4 stars!I voluntarily reviewed an arc via the author in exchange for an honest and fair review. Following on from 'Turned by a Tiger' which was Talon's story, we once again meet Maya - his younger sister. Maya is heading out of the pride preparing to travel overseas to marry an alpha she was promised to a long time ago but, while stopping off at Underworld to visit Talon for a final time, she comes across August. August is a snow leopard shifter with so many trouble on his plate that the last thing on his mind is finding a mate. He has taken over from his cousin as pride alpha and in his role he's expected to take a partner from the same species so what the hell is he gonna do when he realises that his fated one is a tiger shifter and worse still, she's hell bent on leaving to mate with some guy she's never met...Tamed by a Tiger was a fabulous read. Focused a lot around the idea of loyalty to family and pride the story of Maya and August found both characters dealing with expectations, traditions and the overriding need to 'do the right thing' even when it is to the detriment of their own happiness and desires. The couple had a lot to face and the decisions were not easy. There was confusion, uncertainty and conflict - why did they feel this tie, did it mean what they both thought, was there any way they could be together..... and ultimately, when it came down to loyalty and pride status could they grab the chance to make themselves happy or would they bow to the pressure of 'doing the right thing' for everyone else. I adore the characters that Felicity creates, the worlds that she builds and the pictures she paints with her words. At times you can so clearly 'see' what's going on in the book that you could easily be there watching events unfold! Her drop in visits/meetings with character from previous books in the series keep us up to date with them too which I love. Full of emotion, heat, downright down & dirty sexy times, a touch of angst, some humour and a little heart bashing, this is another wonderful instalment in the Eternal Mates series and I can't wait for book 14!!!! :) A definite 5* read in my humble opinion! **I received a copy of the book for the author in exchange for an honest review - but as ever, I pre-ordered my copy of TBAT prior to release day

On the other hand, it's really GOOD timing since she hasn't actually mated the other dude yet. Sparks fly. Things happen. Regret is felt. The regret isn't all on Maya's part, either. As the leader of his snow leopard pride, August is expected to take a snow leopard mate. Maya is clearly not a snow leopard. There doesn't look like there's a good way out for either of them at several points in their story. (As an aside, shapeshifters have some pretty outdated rules when it comes to mating and whatnot. Not all shapeshifters, I guess, but enough of them. Change is needed. *gives August a look*)Another fast-paced, sexy romance with more than a hint of danger and plenty of smolder. And will August unravel his feelings for the black-haired beauty before it’s too late and he loses her forever?•••••••••••••REVIEW: 3.5 stars---TAMED BY A TIGER is the thirteenth installment in Felicity Heaton’s contemporary, adult ETERNAL MATES paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is snow leopard shifter August, and tiger shifter Maya’s story line. TAMED BY A TIGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.Told from dual third person perspectives (Maya and August) TAMED BY A TIGER follows snow leopard shifter August as he must come to terms with his position as Alpha within the pride-a reluctant alpha who stepped in when the reigning alpha walked away to be with the woman he loved. What August never expected to find in London at the supernatural shifter bar Underworld, was the woman that called to the leopard within. Maya was a tiger shifter, and promised to another male. Snow leopard laws forbid August to choose a mate outside of his species but August knew that Maya was his female to claim. When Maya leaves to be mated to another male, August suspects not all is right, and sets into motion a plan to rescue his fated mate. TAMED BY A TIGER, like many of Felicity’s previous installments, is more of a narrative; a story that reveals the inner most thoughts, emotions and struggles of two shifters whose lives will be changed in the blink of an eye. There is limited communication between any of the characters, including our leading couple; most of the story line is told through introspective thoughts and meanderings as Maya and August battle for control of their hearts and emotions. The lone $ex scene is intimate and intense. August’s snow leopard needs to claim Maya as his mate.TAMED BY A TIGER is an action packed story of family and fated mates; of shifter values and traditions; of changes to formerly staunch rules and regulations. The premise is fast paced and entertaining; the romance is limited to internal thoughts as the couple spends a good portion of the story line apart.Copy supplied for reviewwww.thereadingcafe.com

This is the thirteenth book in the Eternal Mates series. I loved it!August is a wonderful character. I really liked him. I met him briefly in Craved by an Alpha (Book 5) as he's Cavanaugh's cousin, so I'm glad to get to know him better. I loved it!August is a wonderful character. I really liked him. I met him briefly in Craved by an Alpha (Book 5) as he's Cavanaugh's cousin, so I'm glad to get to know him better. He has taken on the mantle of Alpha of the snow leopard pride due to Cavanaugh abdicating to be with Eloise as her mate. August finds being alpha rather stressful, so visits his cousin to ask his opinion and get advice. He wasn't looking for love, but when he meets a female tiger shifter, he is instantly attracted to her. However, there's a problem, she's been promised to a tiger of another pride.Maya is also another wonderful character that I liked. She is strong and feisty, but when her brother (and alpha) Byron insists she fulfil the pact that she marry the alpha of a rival pride made when she was born, she sets off to London with her brother Grey to say goodbye to her other brother, Talon. Knowing it's a political marriage, she is unprepared for the instant attraction she feels for her eternal mate, August. Will she follow her brother's instruction, or will she follow her heart?I absolutely love the Eternal Mates world. I started to read this book and I was quickly pulled in. It kept me riveted from beginning to end.The story is told through the eyes of both August and Maya, which gives the reader a chance to see their thoughts and feelings. The heat between the main characters blazed white hot. I would have liked to have had a scene where the two "meet" from August's POV. Maya's reaction was extreme, but August came across as rather cold and uncaring. Maybe this is because Maya realised he was her mate first. I don't really know. However, I felt that Maya came across as rather crazy. The transitional flow from that scene to the next was also not as smooth as it could have been.Having said that, I love the way the story swept me up and spit me out on a roller coaster ride of emotion. The characters living within the Eternal Mates universe have a strength within them that helps them to survive. However, they also have flaws and fears, which makes them lifelike and relatable. I did feel that this story was a little rushed and I would have loved for it to be a little longer, with more of a plot line or sub plot/ story arc as I feel this series is beginning to tire somewhat. Nevertheless, I can't wait to read Grey's story, which is the next book in the series and is due to be released on the 9th September 2017.Felicity Heaton has written another fast paced, sexy paranormal romance that I thoroughly enjoyed! I love her fast paced writing style, which flows effortlessly from scene to scene. She is on top of my favourite author's list.I do not recommend this book to younger readers due to the extremely HOT and explicit sexual scenes. However, I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love sexy paranormal romances full of vampires, elves, werewolves, cat shifters, succubi, incubi, angels, dragons, demons and demonesses. - Lynn Worton

Tamed by a Tiger didn’t disappoint! In this story, the traditions, hierarchy and expectations of the various cat shifter communities played a big role and I enjoyed the way Ms Heaton dealt with this. August and Maya both have responsibilities that are in conflict with their feelings for each other and I couldn’t stop reading, I was engrossed in the Romeo&Juliet-esque tale.Ok, it can’t be a review about Ms Heaton’s work without mentioning sex. For me, a story is only really erotic if I’m emotionally connected to the characters involved, Ms Heaton gives her characters such depth that they do become real while managing to make the most explicit sex scenes very romantic. But this attention to detail is not just given to her main characters; I find all of her characters complex, multifaceted and completely believable due to their very real human virtues and foibles even though they’re mythical, paranormal beings.Throughout this novella, I found myself giggling, gasping in shock and shedding a tear or two. Oh, and I definitely got caught up with the passion (who wouldn’t *blush*) but as I said before, the inner dialogue of both August and Maya where they voice their conflicting feelings and admit the growth of their trust and love for each other is beautiful. ...So, ummm, was there anything I disliked about it?Absolutely nothing!...So, basically what I’m saying is...I really loved this paranormal romance tale. It was a great read that made me smile, cry and feel all warm & fuzzy inside with well written erotic sizzles, edge-of-your-seat fight scenes and heaps of romantic gestures. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy reading stories about the lengths we go for our families, inner strength and of course, soul saving love. *sappysigh*As with all of Ms Heaton’s books, due to the sexual content – it’s definitely steamy – and the graphic violence, I’d recommend this book to adults who are fans of relationship and romance stories with a bit of fire and passion.I want you to know that I was lucky enough to be given a digital version of this book for free from Felicity Heaton for an honest review. Thanks for the advanced copy.

I had no doubt she could pull it off as she has proven repeatedly that she is a master at what she does.I first met August in Craved by an Alpha, book 5 in the series. It was at that point I discovered the man he was, loyal and protective. He took up the position of alpha, something he never aspired to, so that his cousin could be with his mate. He never expected the pressures of being an alpha to be so overwhelming, but he was determined to prove his capabilities to his pride. The perks he thought he would have in abundance now that he was an alpha, he no longer had a desire for, but that was until he met Maya, a beautiful tigress shifter, when he went to seek advice from his cousin at Underworld. I got a brief introduction to Maya in the previous installment. When I discovered she would be the heroine in this story, I was not sure what to expect, because honestly she did not impress me then. However, getting to know her in this story, proved a treat. She is loyal, kick ass and is not afraid to stand up for her beliefs. She is willing to sacrifice her happiness for the safety of her pride. Her strength and convictions were admirable. I felt her struggle between following her heart and tradition. Fear of the harm that would come to her pride if she reneged was the catalyst for her decision. However, she will discover what she thought was best for the pride would prove the worst thing for both her and them.I enjoyed her initial encounter with August. That encounter, which was a battle of wills and dominance, would change both their lives. She was his match in every way, but her duty to her clan proved to be a stumbling block.I was quite the eager beaver with this story. I could not wait to find out how their situations would work out. I will not tell you how it was solved, but what I will tell you is this, it worked out for all parties involved. I was happy with how it all played out.The world Ms. Heaton created in this series is fascinating. Her characters are well developed and her writing style transported me to a world where I spent time meeting and interacting with all types of supernatural beings. I developed a bond with the characters and as a result, I found myself rooting for them.I always look forward to her action scenes and she did not disappoint. The scenes were well written, easy to visualise, and it added to the entertainment value of the story. I knew Maya could fight, but it was at this point she proved herself to a warrior, worthy of being an alpha's mate.Conclusion/RecommendationAnother great addition to the series. I am looking forward to reading next book in the series If you love the paranormal genre then you will enjoy this book. I highly recommend this series. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone

Felicity Heaton's Eternal Mates series is my favourite of hers and one of my favourite series ever when it comes to paranormal romance. This one, the thirteenth in the series, was enjoyable but didn't leave as lasting an impression as previous stories.August, a snow leopard Alpha is taking a break from his tribe and crosses paths in London with Maya, a tiger shifter, en route to be delivered as a bride to a fellow tiger tribe. These two had so much potential and things were building nicely but the story lost momentum for me when they left London. All the scenes in the club with August and Maya and her brothers Grey and Talon, were smartly done but once that dynamic shifted, it did not engage me as strongly.I was disappointed to not really feel Maya as a character. She seemed to lack personality and we were told often that she was strong but her wilful stubbornness in insisting on continuing on her path to becoming a stranger's bride was verging into overdone. By which I mean, her brothers both warn her against her future husband for absolutely legitimate reasons. They're not trying to control her but advise that this man is dangerous and yet she doesn't listen. This happens more than once. Now, tradition is something that is often mentioned in this series, in various shades of light of dark, good and bad. And I do understand that a woman who has never left her tribe except for this one time feels a certain amount of honour towards tribe alliances and promises but it felt really unsatisfactory. Yes, she's strong but that doesn't mean she can't be smart and think of another solution, of something that doesn't involve self-sacrifice. "I am strong, I must do this" didn't work for me. And it delivers her to a grade A villain of a man who is one of the most unpleasant characters I've encountered in this series. Then we see Maya acting intelligently and actually being strong (rather than just having it said) but gosh, it's a grim situation for that to come about.August for his part, was quite blockheaded also in not realising she was his mate. So they do match rather well in that they are both striving to do what is good for their tribes by being completely blind to obvious things! I kind of wish Cavanaugh had stopped by to offer more advice in this regard but his scenes with August were brief. All that said, August and Maya were actually ridiculously sweet together. I love their interactions when they first meet and their encounter in that booth...well, fetch me a fan and some cold water, please. Despite the reservations I had above, on the whole I found that they were really enjoyable to follow along with as they found their way to each other and their happy ending.I don't think you need to have read the other books in this series to enjoy this one, it will add to your experience if you have, but it definitely works a standalone if you just want to dip into a good shifter story. I give it a 3.5 stars rather than 3 (but I can't select half stars here).I believe Felicity Heaton has another tiger story in store for us and I am very much looking forward to it.

A truly strong woman would find a way around it,a way to help protect others w/out acting like a sacrificial lamb and a stupid one at that, and August soo blind to species can see or understand a mating pull of his fated mate when he feels it...Sighs, no,no,no,no,no most of the book way a very blind August clueless about finding his mate,a physically strong female, but seriously in sense willing to almost sacrifice herself too sick monstrous pervert, who gets down to being naked and almost mated before August finally arrives to help sort things out,I apologize if I've said too much, but unlike another review I didn't like how August FINALLY showed up,Maya couldn't handle why was going on alone and it didn't happen,in the middle of some vows like a human wedding ,unlike the picture the other review had painted.... maybe it was just me but what I thought happened before I read the book and what actually happened was totally different..Sighs,if Maya's brother the alpha has loved her at all it seemed he should have known what he was sending and into, which directly at odds with the fact that one of their brothers have been tasked with protecting her, her whole life, soo keep prisoner her whole life and watch over her just to send hr to a demented perv ?Later all we get was "I didn't know?" Everyone else did....No, nothing needless inner turmoil but creatures who supposedly physically strong but can't seem to get a clue til it bites them in the rear...Felt like much ado about nothing ,too much angst ,too little sense..Off to delete, and reconsider the books in this series I already own..

Maya's insticts get to her and August wants her at first sight.I loved how strong Maya is. While the youngs and most vulnerable in her family, she proves to be a great warrior and leader. She's willing to go and leave her family and everything she's ever known to keep her people safe, even when everything points to her future husband being a cruel and ruthless tiger. What I also really enjoyes was watching her being the stronger of the pair with August, the difference in their species making the tiger in her need no help. Maya can take care of herself and is not only a great warrior, but a good strategist. August is willing to summit and accept that, taking her as his equal and providing whatever she needs. And you get to see Maya's brothers again! Talon makes an appearence, brooding and silent as usual but the reader can see how much he cares for his little sister and jow torn he is over handing her off. Grey is more present here, and the dynamic between him and Maya had me grinning all the time. We get to read and learn more about him and I can't wait to read his story. Tamed by a Tiger has the sexy fast paced romance Felicity Heaton has the reader acostum while bringing a bit of girl power to the pages in a world dominated by strong males. It doesn't add to the world they live in bit is a great adition to the series non the less. As always, I can't wait for the next one.

Maya was stronger and fiestier than I'd expected but I shouldn't have been surprised as Felicity Heaton's heroines are always strong and can take care of themselves. I liked that she had her softer inner side though and her own insecurities. It helped me connect to her. August was also a more complex character than I had originally expected but I liked him a lot. Once he'd decided the path he was going to take he wasn't letting anything get in his way. They were great together. Like I said this is not the longest book in the series but it is action packed from the start. There's romance, emotion and some humour as well. This is part of a series but the story does stand alone well. All in an excellent addition to this series and I can't read more. Recommended.

Tamed by a Tiger (Eternal Mates, #13) by Felicity Heaton. Oh how much I love this series. This author continues to produce one great story after the next. This one revolves around Alpha snow leopard shifter August and Tiger shifter Maya. August is the new Alpha for his pack after his best friend wanted to be with his true mate. Now he’s trying to figure out what to do to help them. That’s how he runs into Maya who is promised to another.Tamed by a Tiger is a cute story. I felt some of it was a bit rushed, but overall it was cute. Maya is a badass and I liked her character throughout. August was interesting as well and I liked how Maya ended up being the semi more dominant one and saving the day herself. A cute quick read.

I absolutely loves Maya and August. Although she is promised to another she realizes almost the moment she lays on him that August is her mate. Bound between her duty/honor and love she has to make a difficult decision. Their passion is super hot right from the start! Can't wait to read the next in the series!
