Still good, but nothing really happened in this one. I get it, they need a plan, they need to find out things, plus now there is also a spy/mole (I didn't expect that person). But there is just soooooo little happening. So much talking, and so little doing. And I am just bored. I was hoping that at least in this volume they would try to escape, but no. Or something else exciting would happen. :( The art is still not my favourite.

Of course with the increase of people in the know of the danger so to does the chance of being discovered by the adults.By the way what is up with that Phil kid. I know according to the profile he is a big hearted kid that loves Emma and they point out how smart he is in the book but he is also not only on the cover but on the inside of the front cover too. I wonder if something is coming up surrounding this 4 year old.Probably one of my favorite moments is when Emma looses heart temporarily but imaging her family running into the maw of a hideous beast helps her before she finishes her thought that it is impossible to escape with everyone. She is basically the heart of the group after all so that would have been sad to see her give in on her hope to save everyone.

♥http://www.gamesofbooks.com/2018/07/2...

I would almost give this a five. I love the constant machinations and twists and turns in the plot and he art continues to impress me. The strange camera angles and fish eye lens like effects add to the sense of wrongness as well. The main characters also still are lovable even as I sometimes disagree with them vehemently, even as heir values clash or they make stupid decisions. And the villains remain terrifying. Really strong. Okay, I’ll give it the five stars.

Oooh (view spoiler)[Ray being the spy (hide spoiler)] was a twist I didn't see coming. I love it when I'm surprised. I'm really curious about the "outside world" now and how exactly these 12-year-olds expect to survive on their own.

There are other dark-skinned characters in the book that are drawn to fit the book's style, so I'm thinking this was to done to instantly mark her as a terrifying adversary, but it's still going to make some readers uncomfortable.

WOW. YES. MORE. PLEASE!A plot-twist that I didn't expect and also another ending where I'm left with MORE questions. I liked how this volume delved into the characters a bit more, specifically Norman and Ray. So far Mom, Norman, and Ray are starting to become my favorite characters. I mean, I like Emma and her "we need to save everyone" attitude but there isn't that much attention on her in this volume. Emma, Norman, and Ray start to train the orphans to increase their chances of escaping (the orphanage is actually a farm for demons). This volume became increasingly twisted and complicated and I like that. It's like watching a chess game playing out where the stakes are the lives of a group of kids. In the first book, I thought there was too much talking but the added complexity of this one took care of that. And the uncovered spy! I really liked book 2! Although it could’ve had a little more action, it kept things interesting, introducing new twists and turns along the way. The characters’ personalities are being developed more, which is something I really appreciate. We are also introduced to a few more of the kids at the house. Don’t really want to say much to avoid spoilers. I do recommend reading this. It really got me excited for book 3!

The 2nd volume containes some interesting plot twists. I really appriciate the fact that more children started to participate in the plan. I think it is more exciting when there are more people who can make a mistake. The only con I can think of is Emma's lack of personality. Boys' personalities have developed since the first volume, but she is so uninteresting.3,5*

Trying to outmaneuver Mom is not something that I would want to attempt. And Sister Krone is a disturbing individual - Mom at least can look friendly, but Sister's Krone always appears sinister. I can't tell if this is done deliberately or if I just view her that way because I know she's been brought in to help keep the kids from leaving.

I understand the hype now, it is definitely worth the time and the hype. The kids are super intelligent and Emma as the main character, does not disappoint. She is smart, alert and very kind. Kids should read these. I love their strategy-planning and the whole setting is getting more exciting. 4 stars!

The plan is still in the works but slowly and surely, Emma, Norman, and Ray are taking steps toward escape. They’re even thinking about letting a few of the older children in on the secret. There’s just one problem. There’s a snitch in the house. Someone is telling Mom about the plan and you’ll never guess who.I will say that Ray is officially my favorite character. He reminds me of myself.

I need something to happen and this one didn't seem to have much action aside from moving the plot just an inch closer to the next one after the discovery was made that the kids are being rated and groomed to be food for monsters and their "mother" is complicit.

Not only are adults not to be trusted in issue 2 of The Promised Neverland... even some of the other children are spying on the others for the demons that are secretly raising the children of Grace Field House for food.

As the second book in the series it was nowhere near as compelling as the first. It consisting entirely of setting things up for the escape. It was all about planning. Only one plot twist of note that actually works to the kids advantage. Hopefully the next in the series is more like the first.
