Amazon US - http://a.co/hjTF9COAmazon UK - http://amzn.eu/7xtYENQThis story is more than your average bad boy meets good girl romance. Allison Rico has had a harder than average start in life, her one constant has been her sister Lila, a fighter in heart and life; she has always looked out and tried to protect her from the harsh realities of life. He was a mountain of muscles, tattoo’s, and mystery... What starts out for Allison as a simple interview about work placement for newly released parolees, turns into an undeniable and impossible to ignore attraction. The first half of the book plays out side by side with the second half of Lila you definitely don’t need to read it, but I found that having done so Beast answered a lot of questions that were raised in that book. Each time she was near him now, it became clearer that whatever rules, restrictions, or walls he’d put up when it came to her were slowly coming down... Allison is so much softer than her sister, but behind all that is a survivor, it’s only as her and Leo start opening up to each other that you realize that her sister didn’t actually manage to protect her as much as she would have her believe. As I said this is more than just a bad boy/good girl romance, so much happens between the two of them just to get to the romance aspect, but I devoured it, the anticipation, the tension between them as the resistance Leo tries to keep up starts to crumble, Allison’s personality and persistence just keep you reading, especially when you take in the amount of obstacles and adversity they have to deal with as well, the story was so alluring I just absorbed each and every word of it."What is it about you..? What is it about us..?" I am loving this series, the author gives such a great depth to her lead characters, the story-lines are crafted on many different levels so that there is always something going on, the secondary characters are relevant, I like that as this book develops characters from the previous book and other of the author’s series are becoming more and more involved in the story-line in general. Nine and Drew play pivotal parts in this book two, and the author teases enough that I cannot wait for their book, I just wish I didn’t have to wait until 2018 for it!"Just because you have a past, doesn’t mean you’re not deserving of a better future."ARC generously provided by the author, and it was a pleasure to provide the above honest review.

These characters are more than fictional characters giving me a reading escape, they are like my family welcoming back to their world. Leonardo "Beast" Ledesma never allows himself to get close or care about a woman. The last time he did, it did not end well. Allison Rico is a temptation that is driving him crazy and he simply won’t allow her to get too close. Until the day he breaks his own rules. He gets too close and that puts Allison in danger. Whoever is messing with his future better watch out for the BEAST that sleeps. Allison and Leo were everything I expected them to be. I loved how their friendship grew into something more. You could feel Leo resisting with all his heart, but you can’t control the heart. It speaks a story that you just need to follow. No matter where it brings you, follow your heart. This love story was filled with passionate, tender, intense, sexy and romantic moments. Leo is eleven years older than Allison. The age difference did not make things uncomfortable for me. I absolutely connected with both characters as a couple and individually. They each had their own personal story and I loved following them on their journey together. Their chemistry is undeniable and hot!!! True to her writing style, Eizabeth Reyes always specifically details every single emotion that the characters are feeling. She makes you want to jump into the story and be a permanent character of your own. Her stories are an unforgettable reading escape that always leaves you wanting more. Reuniting with new characters and meeting new ones is the best kind of gift to a reader. The Boyle Heights Series is totally rocking my world! I highly recommend it along with any of the other books that this author has written in the past. I give, Beast, by Elizabeth Reyes, 5 captivating, all-consuming, sexy, passionate stars!

3.5 Stars So I sat on writing this review for a few days. It wasn't easy to write and as you will see below, I will re-read this once it's released.Let me preface my review by stating I read an unedited arc, so my review is really just based on the story itself. I will read the book once it's released to see if the edits fixed the issues I was running into, which I will point out in this review but won't use against the rating. If the issues aren't fixed, then........It pains me to not rate this book higher, it really does. I have always loved Elizabeth Reyes books. I love how her series are intertwined in different ways and her characters all interact in one or another somehow. But in this book, that area felt a bit too much, even for me, who has read the vast majority of her books. So anyone who has not, I am pretty sure will feel like overwhelmed by all the different characters you are come across.First off, in the beginning, there were too many secondary characters introduced. I understand that Eli is trying to show the connections between the main characters and other characters from previous books, but it's just too much at one time. I had to take a step back and almost felt like I needed a chart to make sure I understood. And to be honest, in this book, only a small few of those characters had an real part in this book, so for me it wasn't necessary. We met Beast and Allison in Lila's book. And we get to know them both more in this book. I do have to say, that a lot is thrown at you in this book. Beast comes from a very ugly, rough and deadly past. Allison didn't have the best upbringing, growing up in the foster care system but her past in much more rainbows and butterflies than Beast's. I have no doubt that this book could have been so much more darker all because of Beast and his past. But I think Eli did a great job of showing his horrific past, the things he did without making it too gruesome and graphic for this genre. We got a pretty good understanding that things were never good - he grew up in the cartel, nothing is ever pretty there. We got to see sides of Ali that explain how she seems older in some aspects, but still a little shy and awkward in other aspects. One of the things that kept bothering me while reading this book was how choppy certain scenes felt and how it fit into the overall plot line. I could see that Eli was trying to blend certain aspects of the book together and at times, it felt forced and not natural. Some of the conversations between characters felt like added filler and not part of the story line, even though I could see where again, Eli was trying to tie pieces together. Again, since I read an unedited version, I won't hold that against the author in my rating because I am hoping this is something that will be fixed. This stuff was the biggest hurdle for me so I am really hoping it's fixed once the book is released.I enjoyed learning about Beast how he got to where he is today. I felt that Ali and Lila's bond wasn't as played up as much it was in Lila's book, but this book was more about Beast and his past. At times it was hard for me grasp the age difference between Beast and Lila - I get the 11 years isn't a big deal, but at 19 and 30, to me it is; 25 and 36, not so much. I get that both were forced to become adults earlier in life, but I still couldn't get past the age gap that young (and Eli does a good job of addressing this too). And sometimes Beast acted a little too immature for me at 30. I get he was experiencing things for a first a time, but I still felt his actions were a tad immature, especially with his past.I do have to say that Eli did a phenomenal job of showing Beast and Ali's relationship grow over time. There attraction was immediate, but their feelings were developed over time. They go to know one another on a deeper level than just physical attraction. And as much as Beast fought it, not just because of the age difference, they both realized there was so much more between them that attracted them to each other.Overall, the plot was good. The underlying suspense with Beast's past and how it affected any sort of relationship he could have with Ali was very well written. It was how Eli was trying to tie certain parts together that really hurt the book for me. As I said, I read an unedited version, so I am hoping parts that I read that obscured my reading are flushed out and fixed. I will re-read once the book is released and review again.

A reformed ex-con meets his match with the not so innocent journalism student who interviews him. Told through the experiences of both main characters, this story keeps you wishing for their happy ever after.Leonardo “Beast” Ledesma, has earned his nickname and then some. A violent felon with an even more violent past, Leo is looking to start over and make a life for himself. As part of a work-release program at the 5th Street gym, Leo has volunteered for an interview with a young journalism student. All Alison Rico wants is to get the story that will make the front page. What she gets when she meets Leo is attitude and a good look at his muscles. Her mind can’t seem to function when in the same room as the Beast. After several failed interview attempts and a little drooling, Alison wants more than just the story and what she wants she usually gets.Alison may live in luxury now, but she knows what it’s like on the other side. Leo is rough with a past that would scare most women, but Alison is determined to show him that she’s tough enough to handle it. What happens when she comes face to face with the reality of that past though? Is she really strong enough to survive? Not disappointed in the least with this novel by the talented Elizabeth Reyes. An older violent bad boy with tattoos and piercings, plus an extremely tragic past, who is looking for a second chance to live life: yes, please! Then there is Alison. This girl has an "I take what I want attitude", but it is tempered by her insecurities. While she is young she has experienced life almost as much as Leo. They are perfect for each other. For those that have read some of her other series, you will recognize some secondary characters. Oh, I can’t forget about an impressively sexy, or embarrassing depending on which character you relate to, scene with a jelly donut. I give this one 5 jelly filled stars!

Even though we were introduced to the two main characters, Allison and Leonardo in book one, Lila, this sequel can be read as a standalone. Fans of Elizabeth Reyes are in for quite a treat as they get to know and cheer on this new couple. Allison has never felt beautiful, and see's herself as frumpy, and overweight. However, after her sister gives her a makeover, she gains a little more confidence, and turns many heads with her beauty and curves. Allison had a rough childhood being brought up in the foster care system, and despite being watched over by her older and street wise sister, Lila, is stronger than she knows. Leonardo also had a rough childhood. In fact, his was very tragic and lead him on a downward spiral in to criminal activity.Allison meets Leo when she asks Gio if she can interview people that are participating in the work release program at the 5th Street Gym, for her college newspaper. From the moment Allison and Leonardo meet, sparks fly. Then, after she interviews him the dynamic between them changes. They have a push-pull relationship, where Leo tries to stay away from Allison, because he thinks she deserves better, and he doesn't want to put her in any danger. However, he can't resist her.Beast was slow to start, but once it took off, I was in for one fiery, topsy-turvy wild ride! Passion, Danger, Suspense, and Intrigue were woven throughout the pages of this addictive read! Beast delivered amazing main characters, and I was thrilled when many of my favorite characters from previous Reyes books made an appearance as minor or secondary characters. Drew, Allison's friend, who was also in Hector's story, had a significant role in Beast. We are also introduced to Leo's best friends and roommates, Nine and O. I am looking forward to the next book in the Boyle Heights story, which will be about Drew and Nine. If anyone can tame Nine, a notorious playboy, Drew can! Rating: I give Beast, 4.5 Exhilarating, Seductive, Adoring, Love Heals All Wounds Filled Stars! *To Read More Book Reviews, Visit http://www.abookishescape.com

I was really looking forward to Allison and Leonardo's (aka Beast) story, since we saw the start of it from Lila's perspective. In my eyes Elizabeth Reyes can never do wrong with a story and a background setup. I love how thru the eyes of her you get to see a glimpse of my besutiful City of Angels. The best parts. Our hispanic heritage, our latino pride. Few and very scarce authors show you nowadays the beauty of a community as powerful and predominant as our latino one is. But as much as I love her work, this story fell flat for me. I liked the HEA, but still, I'm kind of conflicted with how rushed the end was and how predictable the whole story turned out to be. 😕

It's a small world after all...LOL. Glad he found his ever after... she will keep him on his toes 😉As far as Ali questionable actions... naive or stupidity ... definitely debatable with her thought process. Basically, she's her own worse enemy, with lack of self preservation. Thank God she has a sister and now a man who are smarter with dangerous situations...even if a bit hot headed at times😁

Steamy and exciting! I love E.Reyes and her writing! It's so real and down to earth and this book was so raw and refreshing and of course so steamy! Beast is a guy who is guy who comes from a ugly background but is trying to make something of himself and he falls for a girl who he thinks he's unworthy of. This book has it all so don't miss it!

Another great read by Elizabeth. This story had love, sacrifice, alpha male, and even suspense. Beast needed some one to tame his wild side. When he looks eyes with Ally, knew she would be the one to just do that. Allison wanted to be a journalist find ways to get the story of the Beast. She never new she would be the one to see other side of him. Beast was written beautifully and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Loved Leonardo and Alison's story. The characters in this series are arrogant, passionate and provocative and that's just the guys. I'm really looking forward to the next instalment.

Elizabeth Reyes, once again takes a minor character, serves him up in a story all his own and makes you swoon.

In true Elizabeth Reyes fashion she has written a book that will suck you in and make you love the characters more than you thought possible. I loved Beast and Alison's story!
