This is a first rate rock romance that gives you everything you would want; super-hot rocker who does not do girlfriends, a “normal” girl with a chance of a lifetime, a connection between these two that everyone around them sees, and sexual chemistry that is off the charts. Sure, people say this is the “same old story” but this one hit for me and I am an avid rock romance fan. This has become one of my favorites because of the author and the way she played out this rocker romance. You actually felt the sexual frustration between these two along with the heartbreak that they each felt for their own reasons.Jesse and Katie met by chance and the connection that those around them seen had Katie landing a model job doing a music video with the famous rocker. For Katie it was a big thing because she had been a couple of years of working through the destruction her ex-fiancé did on her by literally leaving her at the altar. She considered herself unlovable and her self-esteem plummeted from the action of a spoiled rich boy. Katie had lived for her art and she had let that falter too after the humiliation she had gone through but now this was her chance of putting herself back out there. Boy, did she ever put herself back out there; nothing like doing a sexy love scene in bed with this undeniably bad boy rocker! Jesse was putting out a solo album during his break from his band, Dirty and it was extremely important that this album take off and be everything he could hope it would be. Since his love scene with the cute little “normal” girl was hitting it big online with everyone loving the connection they saw between Jesse and Katie. So Jesse came up with a plan to get his music to sell and that involved propositioning Katie to be his pretend girlfriend for six weeks while he was on his tour for this album. The money Katie was offered would finally get her back on her feet and what could it hurt because she couldn’t stop thinking of Jesse. Sure, she realized that he was a womanizer who couldn’t settle on just one woman for very long in between all of his groupies. So when did this line blur and over time was Katie the only one feeling the things she did? The way they both fought off having sex brought sexual tension to its limits at times but it was just a great basis for the things building between these two. Katie just had to keep reminding herself it was all pretend…to Jesse anyway. Was Katie really cut out for the paparazzi and the way they would eventually portray her and what part would Jesse’s ex-girlfriend and Dirty bandmate, Elle, play in all of this? Let’s not even mention how Katie’s ex-fiancé, Josh, played a part in all of this, too. For me this was an excellent rock romance that had you feeling all of the lustful moments between Jesse and Katie right along with all of the heartbreak that you felt with everything Katie went through. This is a first time reading this author and I would say a definite recommendation for all of you “normal” rock romance fans! I’m so glad to hear that there is going to be more “Dirty” coming because there are a lot of supporting people in this story that need their own stories told.I was gifted a copy of this book in advance.

I enjoy stories that are told from the character’s POVs has it helps me to get an angle on their emotions, thoughts, and actions.  It was told mostly from Katie’s POV, which helped me to understand who she was, and the reason for her actions.  She is the kind of character; I think most of us can relate to. She has had her share of heartbreak and emotional turmoil; therefore, it was easy to understand her wariness around Jesse.  For two years she had avoided the dating scene and any form of emotional entanglement. She knew that accepting Jesse’s proposal would wreak havoc on her emotional stability but she was willing to take the risk if meant that she would start living again. The fact that she was willing to take this step was proof of her courage.  What I didn’t like was her constant second-guessing as it relates to Jesse’s feelings towards her. Initially, Jesse came off as an arrogant jerk. However, as the story progressed, I realise that there was more to him than what met the eye. He could be sensitive, especially when it came to those he cared about.  The author touched on his past which provided a little insight into his personality. However, I felt the details provided were limited which led to his character not being fully developed. To be honest, I never felt him the way I was expecting to. I was pulled into the story from the first page. I was eager to see how it would all unfold.   Although, not an original concept I loved it none the less.  What are the chances of barista meeting a hot rock star much less to fall in love with the said rock star?  Katie would discover that life as she knew it would change that fateful day she delivered cherry pies to her best friend’s office. The story was entertaining, however, based on certain events I was expecting more conflicts to arise which would have added to the intensity of the story. There was a lot of sexual tension permeating the pages.  They both wanted each other, but Katie was determined to fight her feelings.  However, her fight only lasted for so long, and when these two finally got together it was explosive.  Sadly, the focus was more on the sexual aspect of their relationship.  I couldn't sense an emotional connection between them.  For most of the book Katie never really had the chance to know Jesse which led to her second guessing his actions towards her. She fell in love with him before she had the chance to get to know him.  Usually, I don’t have a problem with the use of the F word, but when it is used on almost every page and in almost every conversation then I have an issue.  I found it distracting and annoying.  Verdict: This was a good start to the Dirty series, and I can’t wait to see whose story will be next. If you love rock star heroes and stories that are hot, then you will enjoy Dirty Like Me.

I won't lie though I totally felt where katie was coming from when she made the comment " blue clit" cause ladies heed my warning now you will have some series sexual frustration as the story unfolds. I had the honor and privilege to chat with the wonderful author, Mrs. Jaine Diamond as I read along. And it was so fun to get her little "hehe's and haha's" at my comments and sexual frustration shouty caps!!! I recommend this book to anyone who's ever wished to be the on the arm of a sexy hot rockstar. ** ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review **

If you only knew my personal history, you would see that trend entirely too clearly. And I will admit Jesse had caught my attention in Zeke and Maggie's book....something about brooding guitar players gets me every time. If you only knew my personal history, you would see that trend entirely too clearly. Nevertheless, he intrigued me, and I will admit I enjoyed him thoroughly in this book (maybe not as much as Katie - lucky Girl! Lol) And I enjoyed the glimpse present of Zeke and Maggie, even if I didn't get the answers I wanted. Have to admit I liked Katie a lot too. Maybe not quite as much as Maggie, but more than I expected. Maggie is just such a force of nature in ways that I don't see in myself (though my son tells me, and his friends, on a regular basis lately "Mom mom's a damn savage" with pride and I have deciphered that is teen speak for a badass.) Flattering, but I think that's just the mama bear side coming out; in actuality I am more like Katie - still a bit haunted by past mistakes, even though my rockstar brooding guitarist I married 7 years ago today, 16 years minus 2 weeks after I met him, has helped me more than he'll ever truly realize. Also, a bit too sweet for my own good in all but my son's eyes (though he knows it too - and often questions it)and need to hide to sort out my insecurities. So, on the relatability scale, I love Katie, but the desire to be more like Maggie keeps her at the top of my Jaine Diamond heroine list, so far. I think her position is probably safe through the next book too, as I already feel like Jessa and I probably have a lot in common as well. Very much looking forward to her story though, and more about the mostly mysterious Brody. This should be Good! But back to the book at hand....I think we have established Jesse is all kinds of rockstar hot, but he is just getting out of a very public relationship, with one of his bandmates in Dirty no less, and launching his first solo album. Maggie and Brody drag him to Katie's bff's talent agency in search of a model/actress to play his girlfriend in his next video. He pays little attention as they pick one for him, until a sopping wet skater girl and her equally wet dog barge into the office...she apologizes and offers him a homemade cherry pie - their chemistry is instant. Before Katie and Devi have finished their conversation, Maggie is calling back, canceling the model they have picked, and telling Devi they want Katie. I felt so sorry for her walking blindly into that video set, and equally bad for Jesse's jaded insecurities. Once he realizes she really isn't interested in anything he could possibly offer her, the sparks get insane. Evidently those sparks showed on camera, as the video becomes a huge sensation, sparking an, at best, indecent proposition to Jesse's mind - desperate to spend more time with the woman he can't get out of his head, but too insecure to ask her for what he really wants. Silly Man! But it makes a great story. One of my top non spoiler moments - when she finds out the bra has real diamonds instead of the rhinestones she thinks they are. Probably worth the read for that scene alone! Lol. Too awesome. But there are soooo, sooooo many other wonderful ones, and the sexy scenes are so worth the wait....my kindle may still be smoking. Whew! Holy Hotness! That insane instant chemistry just gets Hotter and Hotter. Another non spoiler moment....her Cinderella impression. LMAO! I have thrown a few shoes in my day, but never managed to get one stuck in the ceiling! Still literally LOLing at the memory. If you have read my review of Dirty Like Us, you know I quickly embraced Ms. Diamond's style. We didn't get to see a lot of her humor in that one since it was a novella - it made me love her that much more. As I am anxious to finish this review so I can start Dirty Like Brody, I am going to go ahead and say this is a must read series. I am still antsy for more about Zane and Maggie, but feel confident in saying that even without it I don't see this author disappointing. And maybe Jesse will use his knowledge he isn't supposed to have to push them a bit. A girl can hope, right?!

Theirs was an unconventional relationship from the start, but that’s what made it so very fun to dive into!Katie Bloom was so not a band groupie, so when she went to visit her friend at work and ended up catching the eye of none other than the panty-melting Jesse Mayes, she had no clue what the big deal was. And for a guy who has women throwing themselves at him nonstop, something like that is bound to send his head spinning. So, she gets the offer of a lifetime…star in his next music video, as his lover! And can I just say that those scenes of a pretend romp in the sack were sexier than some of the real scenes I’ve read in other books, because the chemistry between these two was smoldering even with some clothing on!! Turns out that Jesse happened to pick up on that chemistry too, and what happened next would truly alter Katie’s life forever. The proposal? Six weeks pretending to be Jesse’s girlfriend while he goes on tour. Six weeks up close and personal with the man who sent her blood screaming through her veins just with one touch…sure, easy as pie! Not so much, because Jesse and Katie had more than just great chemistry together, and the time they spent together just pretending to be a couple made them both realize just how well they fit. Jesse was her protector when her past came back to hurt her, and she did her best to be his when his life became too much to handle. I absolutely loved the banter and teasing, the awkward moments and the super-steamy ones, and the bond that they had when neither of them had even realized it yet. Jesse and Katie both had such fun personalities that truly clicked perfectly together, and I ate up every moment. This was another great story by Jane Diamond, and I look forward to more of these characters with the rest of this series!! Quotes:Tall and broad-shouldered, his thick, dark hair in unkempt waves that gave him a decidedly just-fucked look, like some lucky bitch had just clawed through it. Totally worked on him. ~Loc77When the man looked at me, things happened to my body that I could only describe as temporary but all-consuming hormonal insanity. It was dizzying, thrilling, and terrifying, and I needed to get my shit together before we shot this scene. ~Loc 259You’re sleeping over here, then I am too. I’m gonna fake girlfriend the shit out of this joint. ~Loc 1680I knew I risked just getting more and more attached to Jesse the longer I stayed, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave him. I didn’t know how I’d survive being left by him, but I still couldn’t leave. ~Loc 3782

In the beginning, this book was exactly everything I was looking for in a romance. It reminded me a bit of Pretty Woman. Then it turned into something I couldn't connect with no matter how hard I tried. I'd say the writing is good, it just threw me for a loop how the characters personalities seemed to change pretty drastically overnight. Unfortunately, there are just too many amazing books out there just waiting to be picked up so I DNF'd this one...

❤❤❤❤❤ Hot damn❤❤❤❤❤I've read so many different rock star romance books, that I feel that the theme is a little outplayed. It's always about how a normal girl meets a sinfully hot musician, who's usually giving this normal girl an offer that's way too good to refuse. That's why it's so refreshing to stumble across Jaine Diamond's take on this genre and I have to say, she doesn't disappoint! Plot: Katie is a struggling artist who works as a barista at her sisters coffee shop. While going to visit her best friend she meets Jesse, who unbeknownst to her is a very famous rock star, who's looking for a model for his next music video. When Jesse isn't happy with any of the models his team decides to use Katie. The chemistry between Jesse and Katie is sizzling and when Jesse makes Katie an offer she can't refuse, she ends up touring with him for 6 weeks playing his perfect girlfriend for the world to see. What makes this book unique, even in this over crowded genre, is Diamonds writing. I love the humor she's bestowed on Jesse and Katie, as it makes for some really enjoyable banter. Even though, both Jesse and Katie has some of the standard traits for this genre, it's refreshing to meet a FMC like Katie, who actually has a back bone. Yes, she obsesses a lot about every little negative thing, but she's neither whiny, nor self-absorbed, which brings her a lot of redemption. She tries to be reasonable and put a positive spin on things, even if it's hard at times.

Katie started out as a great character. I liked her all the way up until she flakes near the end. I won't say any more but I just sort of frowned through that part. It was crazy emotional - seemed to come out of no-where and isn't fully explained until later. That being said overall I liked Katie as a character too.Secondary characters were there as well - some interesting. I liked Katie's friend/agent. She'd be a fun character to see in a future book. PlotIt is a romance. Need I say more? Okay fine. This did have more substance but it wasn't a complicated plot. It was a romance plot with a dash of drama and the conventional look at famous life and all its 'baggage.' For a romance it did what it was supposed to and I liked it. OverallInteresting characters, decent plot, and steamy sensual scenes. What more could you ask for? A better ending. The ending was going so well and then it was ruined. I don't want to say too much but the decent story and the romance, plus the enjoyable characters wasn't completely and utterly overturned by the ending but it was a disappointment for me. I verbally scoffed. So for me I just pretend it didn't happen and the rest of the story is great!Rating4 starsInteresting characters, decent plot, and steamy sensual scenes. Well worth the read. If you need a happily ever after ending this is for you. Sadly the ending goes too cliche for me and knocked this down a peg in my eyes. My interest in reading this novel never waned despite its predictability and limited originality – two things that aren’t necessarily negative points in a critique. Even though the plot has been used in many other romance novels, the story had enough of a hook to make me want to witness everything unravel and to see how things eventually panned out.The romance between Katie and Jesse could have been a whole lot better, in my opinion, but was nonetheless exceedingly hot, undeniably passionate and remarkably explosive. Their first encounters involved a significant amount of back-and-forth banter which, I think, was entertaining and set up their chemistry quite nicely. I particularly liked how their attraction to one another was greatly lust-driven but eventually paved way to other softer feelings that added a touch of realism to the setup. Again, it could have been better. In other words, heat-wise, the temperature between them was constantly scorching and continually rising. However, I would have preferred a larger share of emotionally vulnerable moments. In summary, Dirty Like Me is a steamy, light read – the kind you’d like to have a quick escape to. A lot of the writing was pretty humorous. The characters were fascinating to read about. Despite the generous amount of intimate scenes in the novel, I don’t think the sex took away any substance from the story as a whole.Actual rating: 3 stars* Read the entire review on That Bookshelf Bitch!

As for Jesse, the love interest, he totally won me over and their chemistry was on point! The story seemed well paced and the romance had just the right amount of steamy parts. When Katie shows up at her best friend's office in a soaking wet T-shirt she's immediately drawn to Jesse Mayes. A heated moment ends up with her doing a steamy music video with the rockstar, Jesse Mayes, who's determined to make his solo project a success. So, when the music video is an overnight success he proposes that she go on tour with him as his fake girlfriend. I look forward to seeing what Janie Diamond does next with the rest of Jesse's band mates! All in all I'd say a solid 4 stars. ****

I really enjoyed this book, mostly because I’m a sucker for a good romance, but also because the authors writing style made it enjoyable. However, there was a part of the story that kinda threw me for a loop. When Katie hugged Zane the night of her party it was mentioned that he looked at her oddly. The writing to me seemed to insinuate he may have some kind of feelings for her but then it was never mentioned again. I may have just interpreted wrong but I was waiting for something to happen thro I really enjoyed this book, mostly because I’m a sucker for a good romance, but also because the authors writing style made it enjoyable. But I did love the characters!!

This book was literally twenty pages away from being five stars, & then the ending happened. Minus two stars for the cheesy, abrupt, perfect conclusion.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This is a story about a Rock God and the girl next door. Who hasn't feel in love with a rock God and wondered what it would be like to go on tour and be his girlfriend? Yeah, we all have or you haven't found the right Rock God. For me and yes I am telling my age, it was Andy Gibb. I loved him, had the posters on my wall, his records and all the magazines. Yep, told my age on that one. For me and yes I am telling my age, it was Andy Gibb. I loved him, had the posters on my wall, his records and all the magazines. Yep, told my age on that one. Any way, this is Jesse Mayes and Katie Bloom's story and I loved it all.Jesse and his people were trying to find the right girl to be in his latest music video. He was tired of the models and those that would throw themselves at his feet just to be near him. When he sees Katie, she seems to not know who he is and doesn't go fan-girl crazy. And he doesn't know it but he wants her. While Brody and Maggie, his people, see the attraction and the way Jesse reacts to her. So they get Katie to be in the video with him. And the sparks fly all around them.Katie is trying to move on from her past. After aver two years, she is still having trouble letting the hurt go. It is hard to forget the pain of heartbreak. SO when her BFF tells her she is going to be in a video with Jesse Mayes, Rock God, Katie doesn't know who he is. So she checks him out on the internet. Can she go through with the video when she finds out what the video subject is about? When Jesse offers her a lot of money to be his pretend girlfriend, because the fans love the idea of the girl next door catching the eye of the Rock God. So Katie is fighting herself internally, she finally accepts the job. All the while knowing it could end in disaster. But maybe not, because Jesse is so sweet to her and he is always so nice. And the PDA is only in public for the fans and camera. He doesn't try to push himself on her behind closed doors. Because that was part of the deal. But as time passes, Katie finds herself falling for Jesse with each passing day, can she continue to play the part and not lose her heart? Will Jesse come to realize that he has feelings for her too? What if he is too late?I love a good rock star meets girl next door story and this one was perfect. And I am glad there will be more to this series. This is the second one by Jaine Diamond for me (first was DEEP, set in the future) and I can't wait for more from both series.

She is still dealing with a troubling past break up, her career is up in the air and she just misses her best friend. So what happens when you miss your best friend? So when she meets Jesse Mays for the first time all she sees is a very sexy man that she cannot take her eyes off of. But when her friend tells her who he is she just brushes it off. She knows their music but not much anything else. That is until she is hired to be his girlfriend for his new music video. And then is very surprised when Jesse gives her a proposal that she cannot turn down. What is one way to grab life by the balls? Fake a relationship with one of the hottest rock stars you have ever seen.Oh where do I start with this one? This book is funny, hot and a real page turner. I finished this book in one day. Only because I could not put it down. I was laughing at the way Katie and Jesse are with each other. The bets, the jealousy, the crazy ex’s, the lines that seem to get crossed are all a breath of fresh air. I loved every minute of reading this book. I am a sucker for Rocker and I have to say that I couldn't have been happier to find this new hidden jem with my buddy Sultan!!What is better than a Cherry Pie.....Well that is an easy answer and it would be Jesse Mayes!! These two crash into one another and from that first glance nothing will be the same. Katie is the shy hot girl next door type and everything that Jesse the sexy rocker has stayed away from. A chance to break from her rut and Katie agrees to star in a hot and steamy music view to launch Jesse's solo career. Things explode during the taping of the video and neither one can deny the chemistry. The release and success of the video leave Jesse and his fans wanting more of Katie Bloom. Katie has been living a shell of a life since the day her ex left and Jesse is the first one to break through and get her to see that it could be so much more. The question is how much more is Katie willing to give of herself to what on all accounts is a bad boy of rock and roll. Katie joins Jesse on his solo tour and it becomes evident that what Jesse really embodies is the complete opposite from the public perception. They place a friendly heated bet that to be honest they both win|lose in the end, play a great game of Top 5 and steal heat moments at each stop. Will what should have been only 6 weeks be enough for either of these two once they see what could be forever?Let me just say that I can't wait to get more of these rockers and with Zane up next I am on the edge of my seat.*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Katie is drifting a bit, she's a barista/artist but has been sort of lost since her ex left her at the altar 2 years ago. While dropping in on her best friend at her work as a modeling agent Katie runs into Jesse and the two have major chemistry. Jesse's manager hires Katie as the girl in his first solo video, even though Katie is far from a model. The two have to do a few sexy scenes and the sparks fly! Jesse decides he'd like to keep Katie around & offers her a "job" of being his fake girlfriend on the 6 week tour with the band. Katie takes her job seriously...and Jesse doesn't make that difficult, the man is flirty and fun to be with! The two are more real than they care to think about both trying to keep the other out of their hearts. I love the back & forth and miscues of people trying not to fall in love and Dirty had this in spades. When the two FINALLY get together, man, melting pages hot!!! The book then takes a turn into being a lot of smexy without a lot of plot progress. Not necessarily a hardship since I absolutely fell head over heels for Jesse's character. But if gratuitous love scenes turn you off, this might not be for you. I was thankful for a nice wrap up of an ending and really looking forward to the rest of the band's stories. Found myself highly entertained.

Hiding in the shadows and drifting through life the past two years is her way of staying safe, of not being hurt again. After all, if one man will dump you at the alter, surely they all will, right? One happenstance meeting at the agency where her BFF works, turns her life upside down, introducing her to the rock legend Jesse Mayes. Jesse is intrigued by the water logged woman who came barreling into the office with her equally as wet dog. Sparks are definitely flying during the shooting of the video for Jesse's new song, so much so that Jesse offers her a job. Come on tour and pretend to be his girlfriend. Katie's scared of putting herself in the spotlight, of being humiliated in public but with the careful nudging from her friends, she accepts.Jesse and Katie learn a lot about each other during the tour and realize that they can't keep their hands off each other so they quit trying. Katie's insecurities are the only things standing her way of finding happiness and she would rather believe the worst in any situation. If Katie can learn to have confidence in herself again, she can have the happily ever after that she wants. She only has to learn to trust Jesse and herself.I can't wait to read more about the Dirty gang.

It takes some convincing, but eventually Katie accepts and her life changes just like that. There is chemistry right from the start between Katie and Jesse. I loved the development of their "relationship." There is so much I want to say, but I can't without giving things away. Suffice it to say, this is a delicious slow burn with a twist. While it takes awhile for them to get to the sexy times, when they do...wow, they burn up the pages! If I saw correctly, this is Diamond's second published book, which amazes me, because she writes like she has been doing this forever. I loved this book and I think you will, too!

I shall be looking out for future installments from the band!
