Mostly here for Future!Wiccan, honestly. It's not a bad story, and I really enjoyed the Choose Your Own Adventure issue. It's a gimmick, but it's a gimmick being used to a story telling purpose, and I like that.

[Read as single issues]Doctor Strange is riding high for the first time in years thanks to a certain movie, so now's the best time for a spin-off series, of course. Teaming up a magically depleted Strange with Sorcerers Supreme from across the ages including Merlin, Isaac Newton, a young Ancient One, a Ghost Rider, and Wiccan from the future, the series teams these characters to go after The Forgotten, a monstrocity only Javier Rodriguez could design that threatens all of magic (of course it does, because Strange never catches a break).Robbie Thompson brings these characters together nicely and then spends each subsequent issue exploring one of them in more depth so that by the time the first arc is over we've seen a bit more of almost everybody, which makes the final betrayal even more powerful. Thompson has a way of getting into his characters' heads that I really enjoy, and he still manages it here on what I think is his first team book as well as he did on his previous solo series. The previously mentioned Javier Rodriguez steps over from Spider-Woman to draw this series, and his innovative layouts lend themselves to this time-warping, reality-destroying adventure. Two mystical thumbs up for this one.

I loved the Demon Rider and the Conjurer, they were very interesting and fun characters. I also really enjoyed seeing the Ancient One as a young shit. The only thing that would have made this better is if Brother Voodoo had been included.

Public library copy. The art was great, but I'd liked to have read more with Dr Strange and without the axe, just the basics.

A good Dr. Strange story, but not quite up to Aaron's standard.
