Issue #1 Rating: 4/5This was a really great start to meeting a new Hawkeye. I'm not familiar with Kate Bishop or her transformation into Hawkeye but this was a great jumping off point and I'll be picking up this book as it comes out.Kate is a very likeable character and I enjoyed her first "mission." It's very timely and relevant and I think I'm going to to enjoy her story.---Issue #2: Where Trouble Lurks, Bishop Works!Rating: 3/5In the second issue of Hawkeye, Kate is doing her due diligence a Issue #1 Rating: 4/5This was a really great start to meeting a new Hawkeye. After the police department tells her that their is nothing they can do (typical!), Kate goes back to her office to discover Mikka has gone missing. Of course, there is a detour or two with Quinn, the tech guy, and saving another woman from sexual violence. In the course of her many errands, she comes across a group that clearly has some cult like tendencies. The issue ends with Kate breaking into the T.B.C. (Take Back Control) meeting and being made as a vigilante within seconds.I liked this issue, but not as much as the first issue, which is why only gave it three stars. The little side trips seemed to take up too much time, especially when I was worried about Mikka. I like that she's fighting crime on the fly and can't completely turn away from her super-hero instincts, but it did seem a little out of place.

Issue 1: The tone is similar to Kate Let's Hellcat--fun and less serious than a lot of the comics written by and/or featuring men. I LOVE that Kate's first job is to help a girl who is being harassed online, because it's culturally relevant, and I love seeing women helping women (especially when it's because men are being The Worst). Obviously I read everything through a queer lens, but all of the "look at that hot man" feels a little forced--please just make Kate canonically queer and have her Issue 1: The tone is similar to Kate Let's Hellcat--fun and less serious than a lot of the comics written by and/or featuring men. (Also what was with the heart over America's name at the beginning, is Amerikate finally going to be official?) (PLEASE)
