Wait, so let me get this straight. Grumpy Toad shares a map to his secret treasure with Pete The Cat and then shares that same treasure with Pete The Cat. What is motivating Grumpy Toad? I don’t trust him.

I've read a few of the Pete the Cat books and this one was just okay. It does have a good meaning within the book. They meet an octopus and are scared of it, but later the octopus becomes their friends. A good way of trying to explain that not all people are scary, not matter how they look.

Pete the Cat is such a cool cat. Even on a pirate ship he can stay cool. When he meets a sea monster his crew is nervous but he finds that this monster is just looking to play a cool beat. They all make music together and have a great time sharing treasure from Grumpy Toad on secret island.

Pete is the manWe think Pete was being a little bossy, but it taught a good lesson about sharing. Pete had a crew so he wasn’t lonely.
