A lot of fighting, but nothing really happens. The plot is still slow as hell. And the art style isn't helping at all.I think I'll take a break from reading these. Maybe when the whole series is done I'll read them all at once.

What I didn't like: The fights are still hard to follow, the plot seems to be going around in circles, the main two leads are in need of some more dialog to make them interesting and the story itself needs some help. This is another less than good title from this series. I borrowed up to volume 6 so let's hope it gets better...it has to right? Come on.

I'm reading this because my 12 year old son recommended it. I like it, but this is my first AoT, so I can't compare it to the other ones. It's entertaining enough to me.

Story I'm done with this series. It's not as interesting as the main series or the quite excellent Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Vol. 1.The story is moving along far too slow, and it has none of the characters I love for the original series. I was questioning how Kuklo learned all those stealth and combat-ish skills - but I think they will dig more in that merit as the manga goes on - so besides that, this manga series is a new delight look into the past before the main series. The end of this issue specially!

~3.5/5There is a lot of titan fighting in this volume. Like, half of the volume is Kuklo on the field, fighting the titan, and figuring out a clever way to get back to safety. It’s intense. And I did not necessarily love it. But it was all right. Some parts of the fighting were a little hard to follow, though. Then we get back to town, and Sharle deals with some political drama. Kuklo is taken in again, badly, and Sharle is a little helpless as what to do about it. Things are not looking good for ~3.5/5There is a lot of titan fighting in this volume. Things are not looking good for them. This was not my favorite volume, I will say that, but I’m still sticking with it. I’m interested to see where it goes, and I’m definitely frustrated with the politics and the higher ups. They never even try to understand. Annoying, though not surprising.Hoping the next volume pulls me back in.[Read more at my blog, Geeky Reading!]

This volume only had two chapters - 8-9. That seems kind of a rip-off to only have two chapters but oh well. The Survey Corps are still fighting the Titan with Kuklo in their midst. He'c certainly found out that he is not a monster like these titan's are. The artwork isn't bad. I like Kuklo as a character but I'm not sure I like his new haircut. Overall the series is interesting, but it does come off as what it is - just a spin-off of the original masterpiece. I'll keep my eye on this one noneth This volume only had two chapters - 8-9.

I don't know if it is because a I took a break after the first two that I enjoyed this more. Sure there was nothing new but I definately found it engaging and look forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

Lots of action. Kuklo comes up with a way for the survey corps to minimize their losses and make it back within the wall to safety in Shiganshina. But once there, Kuklo finds himself victim to false imprisonment.

Whoo! I felt engaged from the beginning. A quick read- but I did skip a bit of the dialogue. Still, great action scenes. The way that they treat Kuklo is atrocious but hopefully he finds a friend in Captain Carlo *fingers-crossed.

This manga is interesting, action-packed, and of right now, has no discernable plot. I honestly have no idea which direction this manga will go in, though I am interested in following to see for myself for now.

The plot itself is fine but I feel like it's not advancing along enough. Also 85% of this volume was action and when that happens I kind of lose focus.

The story revolves around a boy that was born after his mother was regurgitated and the girl he befriended. In the third installment Sharle and Kuklo are remaining hidden hiding from the military police who are looking for them. Kuklo needs to know that he isn’t a titan and the only way he can prove to himself and everyone else is by seeing one for himself. When the survey corps comes out of retirement after 15 years he does what he thinks he must and sneaks onto a wagon. The survey corps heads out the gate but Kuklo lets off a flair revealing himself as well as the fact that a titan is coming. Will they make it out alive? It’s been a while since I dove back into the world of the Titans but decided it was time to read about what happened before Attack on Titan. It’s interesting to see what happened 70 years in the past, and I’m curious to see how we will evolve to fight the titans. The art is entertaining it works well with the story. I really enjoy that each installment is a mix of story and action giving just enough to keep you wanting more. I’m already captivated by the two characters Sharle and Kuklo who escaped with their lives. I quickly fell in love with the prequel just like I did Attack on Titans. I can’t wait to see how it will progress and learn more about the characters in this series. The more I read the more I am enjoying this new spin.

Well, another fairly arbitrary installment of the prequel to attack on titan that has all of the flaws that attack on titan does, but little of its strengths. This volume was a very quick read and really didn't do much to move the story forward until the absolute end when a vague weapon is introduced as being the new hope for humanity.Honestly, this isn't doing much for me. It's okay, but it feels like a rushed "story" that is mainly an exercise in cashing in the Attack on Titan franchise. It's a wholly unnecessary story.
