Trapped (Blood Rose Tales #1)
USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Caris Roane, brings you “TRAPPED”, a short, sexy story of the Blood Rose Tales. TRAPPED is a passionate, paranormal romance, a vampire romance, set in the world of the Nine Realms. Caris Roane is the author of over sixty published works, fifteen of which are paranormal romances featuring sexy, warrior vampires and the women who love them. Mastyr Vampire Zephyr, a one-man fighting force, struggles to save the life of a woman who despises his warrior ways. He won’t give up his warrior life to please a woman… Zephyr can’t keep away from Alesia and feels obligated to keep her safe. They’d broken up, unable to reconcile painfully opposing views on what should be done to the evil Invictus pairs. But when several wraith-pairs attack her diner, he flies her to safety, taking her home where they’re trapped together for the entire day. His chronic blood-starvation problem surfaces and it soon becomes apparent that she’s the key to taking away decades of suffering. But if she offers to take care of his needs, will he be drawn in once more only to have her disapproval ruin the moment yet again? Surrendering is dangerous… Alesia wishes Zephyr would just leave her alone. She broke up with him months ago and wants to start a new life. The trouble is, he’s still the one man who can curl her toes. But when several deadly Invictus pairs attack her diner, Alesia has no choice but to go home with Zephyr, something she’s promised herself never to do. Trapped all day with the powerful warrior, she finds it hard to resist the comfort of his arms and the sensual feel of his lips pressed to hers. Will it hurt to offer to meet his blood-needs just this once or will surrendering leave her more vulnerable than ever?

This spin off is the first in what I suppose you could call very short stories continues the theme of Invictus pairs besieging those living in the Nine Realms. If looking for a hot read that takes you away from reality than this author is surely one to look out for .Trapped features Alesia who is half human and half Fae . When the story begins she is very much attracted still to her ex lover Zephyr a Mastyr vampire who helps stop the Invuctus pairs from killing. Problem is Alesia is vehement that if cornered the evil pairs should be imprisoned and if possible rehabilitated . Zephyr can never see that working out and yes here they are at an Impasse both wanting the other and yet so very far apart . The Mastyr vampires in these books have a huge problem as their hunger is never truly satisfied . Suffering pain from their chronc blood starvation the only thing that makes a difference is binding with a blood rose but finding one is almost impossible . I'm sure you can guess where this is going so will not insult your intelligence but no matter how very tempted by Zephyr (who is sex on legs ) Alesia has a very vald reason to have a completely different opinion when it comes to killing the Invictus pairs and it looks like being insurmountable . Can this pair who obviously love each other find a way? One night will change everything as choices are made and there will be huge consequences! This was very short but flowed well and it's a series that has a unique and interesting take on the paranormal. I found the idea of rehabilitation to be a fresh one and wonder just where the author might go with it?I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review

Trapped is more of a vignette into the Blood Rose Series.. A short story just giving us a tease. Mastyr Vampire Zephyr is committed to two things, fighting wraith pairs (a particularly nasty group of enemies) and taking care of Alesia. If he had his way Alesia would be on permanent lock down and his forever. Only Alesia is way more independent than that. Alesia watched her mother become captured by the Wraith and forced to become part of a wraith pair. Since then, Alesia has become a staunch advocate for rehab not death on all wraith pairings. I don't know if the wraiths can be rehabbed but their bond pair? Those are mostly innocents that didn't choose this life. If Alesia had her way she would see all of them saved. Only her opinions have cost her Zephyr, the man she loves.. But one night when they are attacked both of them realize that there is where more to the two of them than opposing points of view. It finally comes down to just what is more important? And what are they willing to do for love? Now this is Caris taking strides in her unique brand of Vampires. These men and women show a depth of character that showcases Caris' talent. I am looking forward to many more Blood Rose Tales and can't wait to get into the Blood Rose Series... Though they are not sleeping together anymore Zephyr still protects her (she lives in the bad side of town). It wasnt anything about this book I didnt like (except the length). The story and the pace was on T, the characters I adored even Alesia and her want to save the evil. You can feel the chemistry between Zeph and Alesia, they dont deny it just dont act on it. Alesia isnt a weak woman, she stands her ground well. The danger and passion interwoven, the characters and story line works well. I think Ms. Roane did a awesome job. A new author to me and will be looking for more of her work. EnjoyPart of the Dark and Deadly 8 Book set https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

This was a quick and short read. Alesia and Zephyr both knew each other and had a previous relationship so the relationship didn't have to be built from the beginning. This was actually the first book that I read by Caris Roane. I got it in a boxed set and loved it. Zephyr is Alesia's ex boyfriend. But while stuck there Zephyr is so very hungry and there is no one to offer him a 'bite' to eat. Knowing there there really isn't any other option Alesia offers up herself for a little snack. Little do either of them know that this sets their former relationship kindling again. But their relationship is still not without their perils and they certainly still don't agree about his job. She is adamant about not killing wraith pairs and rehabilitating them and after fighting so many in his days he is all about killing them, they are dangerous even if half of them didn't choose to be. Alesia's mother was abducted by a wraith which is why she is so adamant about rehabilitation, she longs to see her mother again and fears that one day if not already someone will kill her mother with the way Zephyr thinks. Then when the refuge they have sought is attacked by the wraith Alesia flees to safety only to be confronted with her mother at long last. Caught between the man she loves and the mother that she still believes in but can't seem to get through to Alesia finds herself torn between the two people she loves the most and faced with an awful decision she alone can make. I couldn't put the book down and was heartbroken and elated while reading. Certainly 'enthralled' me with it's lovely story and the characters were so life like and had very tough decisions that they had to make. I held my breath while reading and waiting to find out if all would work out will or not. Definitely a must read for the vampire enthusiast.Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review (while I did get this book in a boxed set I was also given this one for an honest review)

I had a tough time with this book. I spent the first half of it trying to understand what was going on (I'm still a little unclear on what Invictus pairs are, to be honest, but I think I stopped trying after a while) and the second half realizing that although this is book 1 in a series, it's a spin-off from another series. I really think I would have been more engaged if I had either known that before or if there was a little more explanation in the beginning. Stepping into an established world can be tough and I never quite caught up with what was going on.So. Zephyr and Alesia have some issues they need to work out. They dated, they broke up, they both still want each other. If Alesia had simply explained why she took the stance she did on Zephyr's fighting, I think a lot of misunderstandings could have been avoided and they could have kept on having stellar sex without taking a break. So it goes.Meanwhile, there's this whole Blood Rose thing. Again, stepping into an established world isn't easy when it's assumed you know some of what came before. In this case I didn't and I stumbled.Ultimately, I think this seems like an interesting world, I just wish I hadn't started it with this book. A little prior knowledge of the world would have gone a long way in this case.-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

As a "mastyr" vampire, he's always hungry, and even moreso around Alesia. While I enjoy the world and the characters is just felt a little... rushed. What seemed like a giant relationship-ending issue is suddenly resolved when Alesia takes the time to reveal a bit of her past. I guess I just wanted more resolution between these two and not the quick fix. Either way, I still love this world and am obviously on a binge read from this author. This is the extraordinary story of Zephyr, a warrior of strength and conviction who fights wraith-pairs while struggling with blood starvation and Alesia, a Fae, his BLOOD ROSE who refuses to commit to their relationship because she abhors Zephyr's refusal to save wraith-pairs and rehabilitate them. Copy gifted in exchange for an honest reviewThis is a short Blood Rose story. I have read all the 8 Blood Rose books by Caris Roane and await #9. This Tale is a Mastyr Vampire Zephyr and his girl friend Alesia. They are in love but cannot move forward because Alesia does not want Zephyr to kill the enemy Raith Bonded Pairs that are invading. Find out why and enjoy a great read that gives all a clearer picture of others in the Realm.

An interesting change to the "normal/regular" vampire story. Vampires are the "police" of this world and keep the wraiths who steal people to use as an energy source. Alesia wants to try to capture the wraiths and rehabilitate the captives, but Zephyr just wants to kill them before they can hurt others. Interesting how a discussion and a battle can change the way we see what was only black and white before.

Zephyr loved Alesia, but she wanted to break off their romance. They have opposite views on how wraith pairs should be dealt with. Their battle of wills lead her to end their romance, but Zephyr can't let her go. Will they ever find common ground? I enjoyed Trapped. It was filled with passion and adventure. I like that Alesia is a strong character and the Zeph listens to her. This was a great introduction to the Blood Rose Tales. I enjoyed it and am ready for the next tale.

Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.I love Caris Roane but this is not my favorite book by her. It's not that it's bad but some of her other works are so good that this one gets overshadowed. It was more predictable than most others. It is incredible how well she can develop a character in such a short book. I recommend reading but make sure you check out the next 2 books in this series because they are better.

Gifted a copy for honest review.I loved Trapped (Blood Rose Tales #1). Mastyr Vampire Zephyr and Alesia are the main characters in Trapped. Zephyr and Alesia broke up and he feels obligated to keep her safe. They are attacked outside her diner, Zephyr flies her off to the safety of his home. They both soon discover that she is a blood rose. The story is great. I highly recommend this one.

I read this book as a part of the Dark and Deadly box set collection2 starsI had a hard time following this one. It felt like I had come across the story half way through. It felt stilted in parts and slightly rushed. It just didn't capture my interest. A lack of world building and information regarding the wraiths, wraith-pairs and invictus? I also found it annoying with the 'sweet goddess' & 'oh my goddess'. Anyway, just didn't really enjoy this one.

This is a Blood Rose Tale which is a short story set in the The Blood Rose series. These Blood Rose Tales are better served by reading the rest of the series because it looks like a pretty interesting world but you just get teased with it in these Tales. Beyond that this is a story about how two very different people are able to start seeing a problem from each other’s perspectives.
