Bite-Sized Magic (The Bliss Bakery, #3)
This third book in Kathryn Littlewood's acclaimed Bliss trilogy mixes the down-home heart-punch of Ingrid Law's Newbery Honor Book Savvy, the always-on-the-edge-of-chaos comedy of Cheaper by the Dozen, and a humorous magic all its own to create a thoroughly original confection, a delicious guilty pleasure for readers of all ages.Rose won back her family's magical Cookery Booke in an international baking competition in A Dash of Magic, the second novel in the series. Rose is now world famous—so famous, in fact, that Mr. Butter, head of the Mostess Corporation, has kidnapped her so that she can develop new-and-improved magical recipes for his company's snack cakes. With the magically enhanced Dinkies and Moony Pies, Mr. Butter plans to take over the world.Together with her brothers, their talking cat and mouse, and an unlikely team of bakers, Rose must overthrow Mr. Butter before he destroys civilization, one magically evil snack cake at a time.

He forces Rose to perfect the recipes until they are as evil as he is.Packed with light-hearted humor, Bite-Sized Magic is a delicious confection just begging to be devoured. Readers of all ages will love this delectable tale of cake-like proportions. It is funny, quick to read, and an all around treat! Kids will fall in love with Rose, her brothers (Ty will be happy!), and the comical team of assisting bakers. If you are looking for a great family read, give this series a try.Verdict: Another slice please!Content: Clean

Actual Rating: 2.5 starsAfter receiving book three unsolicited, I decided to power through this middle grade series if I liked it well enough. Though I probably wouldn’t have picked it up on my own, I definitely do not begrudge the time that I spent hanging out with Rosemary Bliss. Like most middle grade, I think it’s probably only going to truly shine for young readers, but it was still enjoyable for me as an adult, or at least I play one in my daily life.Read the full review at A Reader of Fic Actual Rating: 2.5 starsAfter receiving book three unsolicited, I decided to power through this middle grade series if I liked it well enough. I loved the Bliss trilogy especially the last book. Bite-Sized Magic of course stressed the importance of family love. During the third book, Rose has learned so much about her family magic and her own gift. She goes through many difficult choices and a dangerous time. But in the end, she is rewarded with her birthday wishes and the love of her family. Not to mention Rose saved the world, AGAIN. I loved these books and recommendto anyone who loves a cute and clever story line. Bliss series!!

The one and only thing wrong with this book is it gave me the uncontrollable urge to eat something sweet. It was REALLY good! New unforgettable characters and unique recipes are introduced in this story. There is a new thrilling plot, as a new matter that once again brings the world's fate into the hands of Rosemary Bliss. You will be on the edge of you seats on the newest amazing book of the Bliss series. I hope it won't be the last!

This was my least favorite of the 3 Bliss novels. Though I still thoroughly enjoy the characters and Littlewood's writing style, this plot seemed way out of left field. While I am all for encouraging young people to avoid preservative laden, processed foods, this tale was over the top with the evil "Mostess Snack Company" and poorly connected to the first 2 stories of the series. Several elements made no sense based on what we know from the previous books. (view spoiler)[ If Lily had become a famous tv chef using the Bliss family cookbook, how could she possibly have been spending time developing world conquering recipes for Mostess without anyone's knowledge? Why did she just disappear after the contest of book 2? Rose could find Lily's copy of Albatross' Apocrypha, but evil Mr. Butter wouldn't have thought to have her room searched after she disappeared? Mr. Butter is actually related to the Bliss family, but has no knowledge of magical baking -- and why was this element of the plot even brought up only to be immediately dropped? Lots and lots of people are gaining direct knowledge of the Bliss' magical ways, and with so many magical occurrences at very public events with tv cameras watching, etc. Kind of goes against hundreds of years of Bliss family secrecy. (hide spoiler)] Anyway, there were just too many elements that didn't fit, or just plain didn't make any sense. This is still a fun series of books for tweens that love to read, just like mine.

It is with a sense of relief that I finish this series...though the author did, of course, put in a tiny little ominous bit from semi-evil Aunt Lily to hang over the ending just as a way to leave the series open. I wish that I could love this series, but I was constantly forcing myself to just get through the books because of the low self-esteem issues, the family issues, the writing dragging throughout, the trying to hard to be poetic, etc.Don't know if I will recommend these at all.

"Bagi Rosemary Bliss, ketenaran bukan adonan sembarangan."SUKA! Ya, this is one of my most favourite series. Ceritanya mengajarkan banyak hal, terutama kekeluargaan. Family is number one and it will never be replaced.

I thought this book was okay. I didn't like this book as much as the other two because nothing SUPER exiting really happened compared to the other books. I just didn't have as much fun reading this book as the others. And It felt like the author ran out of ideas so it got more and more boring.

Sukses bikin gue tersenyum setelah baca halaman terakhir.
